hm… no I don’t think Gertrude was feeling cold and uncaring when she sacrificed Michael. I don’t think she just dusted her hands off and walked away. I think she was used to risky plans and close calls, even used to an occasional casualty, but her blood ran cold when she realized she was choosing to send one to their death. not collateral damage — a sacrifice.

and I think she tried to be as numb as possible, calculating, deciding, even as she knew deep down that only one of her assistants would walk straight into hell on her word.

and I think she found him a bit annoying before that. the jaded resent the naive — it isn’t fair, but it’s true. but by the time he brought her tea the next day, in her mind, he was already dead. everyone looks better dead. optimism, trust, loyalty all become virtues where they were once liabilities.

I don’t think she didn’t feel the gravity of her choice. I think she did it anyway.

I've noticed more and more messages from vetted gaza accounts and followers on here, so I have decided to make a focused point: please be advised that I do not donate to individual campaigns, and am not able to donate to any campaigns currently. I have had messages from some accounts that were obvious phishing accounts trying to make dishonest money during a tragedy, or were not transparently corroborated, and tend to block liberally to be honest now.

Obviously, these scam accounts are not a reflection on genuine Palestinians who are suffering and deserve help. However to avoid being scammed, I typically donated to general charities such as:

I do not do callout posts and do not reply to individual accounts, hence this post. But I also do need to state while my heart and actions are with calling US politicians and emailing to continue denouncing the genocide in Palestine and asking for support for Gaza civilians, I am not able to provide any financial aid right now. I am not employed, am on Medicaid, and am physically disabled. I had to stop my general donations last November due to losing my job, so please know that not only am I unable to provide financial assistance right now at all.
