I took my little brother (autistic, mostly non verbal) out and he was using his voice keyboard to tell me something, and this little boy (maybe 4 or 5?) heard him and asked me "Is he a robot??" I tried to explain to him that no, he isn't a robot, he just communicates differently, but my darling brother was in the background max volume "I am robot I am robot I am robot I am robot"

I have always dreamed of interviewers asking basic questions of the killer clowns who run America. I can't believe it took Tucker Carlson to do it.
I’ve heard Cruz talk about deposing “the mullahs” for 13 years straight. During the 2016 GOP primary, he said he wanted to see if “sand glows in the dark.” You’d figure he’d learn some basic facts about the main villain in his moral universe in that time

sometimes I see young trans guys who talk about, like, starting testosterone and suddenly craving lots of culturally stereotypical "masculine" foods (in the United States this is usually meat heavy) and typically classed as well (e.g. working class guys will talk about craving burgers, middle class guys will talk about craving steak, idk what rich trans guys talk about cause I've never spoken to a rich trans person). I think this is particularly correlated with the guys who are very invested in the sort of essentialist idea of testosterone as a substance containing a physical masculine "essence" because it plays into the idea of a biological "realness" to manhood that many men, cis and trans, find socially validating.
from my kind of different vantage point as a nonbinary dyke who is not at all desiring of or interested in manhood who is also medically transitioning with the use of testosterone, I have more of a material and personal interest in questioning the ways in which the effects of testosterone on the body are socioculturally gendered and sexed, that sex itself ("male" and "female") is socially constructed from cultural gender systems, and how none of these hormonal shifts inherently means anything outside of these societal structures and ideologies which support them. we give our bodies meaning. bodily diversity just is. the ability to change our bodies just is.
and so like, sometimes it's kind of funny to me that I am eating a lot more greasy fatty foods since going on testosterone & feeling physically good while doing so, cause I'm sure from the outside it plays into this trope. but from my vantage point I can more readily identify what's actually going on, at least for me.
I have always craved greasy, fatty foods because they taste good, and they are culturally embraced as comforting. pretty much everybody craves these foods. however, when someone is classed, gendered, and regendered within "female/woman" there is constant nonstop messaging at the nexus of misogyny and fatphobia that enjoying these foods will destroy your body and worth as a person. and while I don't buy into that shit and have been enjoying my greasy food when I have it the whole time, there was a part of me anxious that my health might be negatively impacted to some extent. once I started testosterone, that corresponded to constant blood testing (every three months I get extensive bloodwork done) which revealed that these foods are not actually impacting my health at all. so now I don't worry about it.
you can get the same reassurance without the testosterone from getting bloodwork done & working on unlearning your internalized fatphobia. this isn't a hard-wired man thing, it's all cultural babey
