not entirely sure of the premise, maybe Snotlout doing something dumb to impress the reader but unlike his usual attempts at impressing people it WORKS for once lmao

Added context:You are a new member to the island of Berk, you are a cousin of Astrid and are going to be staying with her and her family from now on.

“…and here is Berk training academy, it used to be used for VERY different reasons but, as you know, Berk is dragon-friendly now” she grins at you, you had both missed each other dearly, not being able to see much of each other until you permanently moved here just yesterday.

“Wow Astrid, this place is beautiful, you’re lucky to have grown up here!”You remarked, taking in the true beauty of the island but, as you looked, you saw a few suspiciously human looking figures in the distance coming towards you both.

“Oh and..those..those are my friends..and Hiccup.”I chuckle at how disappointed she sounds when she says it.

“Why what’s wrong with Hiccup?”you ask, grinning, before quickly hearing a..”yeah, what’s wrong with me??”Astrid and you both begin to laugh as you examine each person now stood next to ye both.

There was a larger guy with blond hair and a brown coat, a boy and a girl that looked like they could be twins-with drooped faces and plaits, the guy who seemed to be the ‘Hiccup’ guy-he had ruffled brown hair and a..metal foot?Stood next to him was a shorter, brown haired guy that reeked of confidence..

“There’s not too much wrong with ya’ don’t worry!”Astrid smiles, giving hiccup a peck on the cheek and bumping against him. “So guys, this is y/n, he is my cousin and he’s gonna be a new member of the group now so…be nice, or I’ll fuckin’ kill ya”she glares at them all.

You lock eyes with Hiccup before saying “I’m sure it won’t happen..don’t worry”

You then watch as the others break into their own small duos and talk, but you quickly notice the smaller of the bunch is quickly approaching you.

“Hey handsome…”he smirks, kissing your hand and gazing up at me seductively “I’m snotlout, pleasure to meet you y/n” you feel heat flush across your face, mouth slightly agape, as you just kind of stare at him-looking him up and down in disbelief, he shifts awkwardly before grinning “You’re so silent because of my handsome face and muscles aren’t you?”he smirks confidently, flexing his arms and striking dumb poses.

“Uhh..yeah”

Snotlout face drops at your confession, nobody has actually agreed with him before, as his face turned a light shade of pink, he thought it would be another failed attempt at flirting, he hadn’t gotten this far now and didn’t exactly know what to do after this step. “Oh uh thank you I-well I try and-..” he murmurs as he scratches the back of neck, unsure of the next move, even more unsure now that he notified everyone was staring at them.

Astrid looks completely horrified “No y/n please!Anyone but him!I can set you up on dates with anyone else on this entire island,please!!”she hisses, but it goes in one ear and out the other as Hiccup and Astrid exchange looks.

Snotlout, not used to getting accepted, turns to Tuffnut “what the fuck do I do now..?”he half whispers, as you start to talk with Fishlegs…“uhh I don’t know, ask him on a date duh?Maybe get him a gift or something?” Tuffnut says, rolling his eyes.

“Shit you’re right..”Snotlout murmurs, as he runs towards Hiccup and yanks at his leg.

“SNOTLOUT WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?”he shrieks, trying to pry him off as Snotlout persists and unscrews the metal leg with precision that only someone with lots of leg unscrewing experience would have.

As he takes off his hat, gets on one knee, holds one of your hands and with the other, he holds Hiccup’s leg as a token of love and simply says..

“Y/n will you make me the happiest guy in Berk?Will you…go on a date with me?”

You begin to laugh at his now awkward charm.. “sure I will ya dope”Snotlout jumps in the air and shouts “I DID IT!”

Poor Hiccup has to limp home that day as Snotlout refuses to allow him to bring his leg home, stating it’s “his token of love to y/n”

Sorry this fic might sound a bit off, it’s a completely different au, where Eret is still adjusting to the idea of dragons being friends not foes, but luckily he has you to help him!!

You had heard many things about the new member of Berk, that he was strong willed and had the strength and power to tear a dragons body and spirit; that would’ve made him quite a popular Viking not long ago but, times have changed..and this new guy stuck out like a sore thumb.

You were one of the infamous dragon riders and your name often echoed throughout the island; mostly positive of course.On this particular day you had decided to help Gobber with simple tasks, seeming as he was a lot more chipper than usual.

“Did you see the infamous dragon hunter that is fresh on the island?”he asked, as you slowly nodded,

“I’d heard of him but..I don’t even know anything about him, he sounds like a rumour to me..”

Gobber chuckles “aye, well, he’s a fair beaut, he’s comin’ to collect this very blade quite soon” he preens, holding up the larger-than-life sword he was just sharpening. “When ya see him, you’ll rub your eyes to make sure he wasn’t a dream, that’s the type of guy he is!!”

You can’t help but feel a bit giddy, you’re not quite sure why but, one thing is for certain..you want to have a glance of the new guy!

“Hey….Gobber was it?How is uh…how is going with my sword?”A warm, supple voice knocks you out of your trance, you gaze up and see a man you don’t quite recognise, he is unmistakably handsome,with dark hair that compliments his light complexion, he was sturdy but not too much, with a distinct bluish marking on his chin along with an even more distinct accent..so..this is him.

Gobber nods and quickly ushers you over, along with the newly sharpened sword.

I smile politely at the man, pretending I wasn’t just unconsciously letting my eyes run along his biceps. “Hello, I’m y/n” you introduce yourself, catching your wandering eyes before they trail too far down, as they meet with the rather cocky man. “Hi y/n, I’m Eret, son of Eret!”he announces quite proudly,before gazing at the new sword that Gobber had given to you.

“Oh uh-yeah here’s your sword!”You awkwardly mumble, gently passing him the sword by the handle, you feel goosebumps run throughout your body as his fingers lightly brush yours.

“Thanks handsome…”he winks, as I stand there, confused, shy and slightly hard.

Angst snotlout x male reader!!(because I’m feeling creative, just finished reading auf wiedersehen and i’m listening to a song called “县城”(best song ever btw)

ANYWAYS!!

Snotlout had been on a mission for months, it had taken him weeks to convince you to let him go on this mission and yet, you clung on, u too you realised you should let him go, he needed to be with his friends, rescuing dragons, going on wild adventures, you knew it’s where his heart and soul was, as you let him go on this trip, many years were shed, many kisses were exchanged, but in the end, you let him go on this mission.

Eventually, you started to really feel the loneliness seep in, every nook and cranny was a reminder of your lover, every creak and ache from the old log cottage in the rough winter days was a creak and ache in your heart.

Until, a new man joined the village, you didn’t notice him at first but, as the days went on, he eventually noticed you, suddenly you were less lonely, you had someone to speak to in the evenings again, you had someone to laugh with and help you cook again, until one day, he kissed you….and you didn’t stop him.

Snotlout was struggling mentally with all of the changes, hookfang and his other friends were of great comfort to him, but he missed his dear y/n, he missed their evening talks, how they’d walk around the forest hand-in-hand, the lent yet magical moments, he truly missed his dear y/n..

You felt the stares as you walked through the village with the newer villager-his name is Erik, he was..a sort of replacement, you did everything with Erik that you had done with snotlout, except it was better, Erik was better, he made your heart skip a beat, snotlout just gave you a headache, the more time you spent embracing your new lover, the more you realise how much of a living annoyance snotlout truly had been.

Snotlout had been riding hookfang and chatting with the twins, they were flying back and weren’t far from Berk!!He would get to see his y/n!His perfect y/n!As they drew nearer, he grew more excited..until

Snotlout felt an excruciating pain, no it was more than that, it felt like he was being ripped in half, all he saw was the pretty clouds, they reminded him of his pretty y/n, gods, he wished he could see his pretty y/n again..just one more time..

You still sometimes dreamed of snotlout, but, you just felt disgust and mostly…you felt nothing for your dear snotlout, you were convinced he had died, maybe all of them had, you didn’t care anymore..

“HEALER??SOMEONE CALL A HEALER WE NEED A HEALER”

You had come out to hear what the fuss is all about, only to see your dear snotlout being carried by Hiccup through the village, they end up dropping him on a table as the healer tries to work with the weaker man.

You stood there, horrified, looking at the arrow lodged in your lover, maybe you weren’t as disgusted as you thought…

“He’s losing blood!!”

You heard someone shout, but you didn’t bother to check who, all you saw was your lover, who was bleeding out on the table..

Snotlout weakly murmured “y/n…I’m scared, I can’t feel my legs…or my arms…or my chest..”you felt your eyes tear up, he was still your snotlout after all.

“It’s okay, I’m here” you murmur, holding his hand and pushing his hair out of his eyes, you felt the guilt of infidelity eat you up inside..”Snotlout, I’m sorry I-”

“I forgive you” snotlout replies as he softly smiles, not missing a beat. “But you don’t even know what I was gonna say-”you start, but snotlout shushes you. ”I’ll always forgive you y/n, you’re so pure, you’re the reason I wake up, the reason I sleep, the reason I breathe, we’re soulmates, there’s not another person made for either of us, we are each others one and only”snotlout grins weakly and winks.

“I love you y/n” snotlout smiled at you and looked at you with love,you looked at him with sadness..

“I love you too snotlout”you didn’t, you were a liar, a filthy liar.

“Kiss?”he asked, eyes half lidded, as you sighed.

Snotlout smiled lazily at his perfect lover, snotlout had truly never seen such a beautiful and true soul, gods he was so in love with him..he just wanted to scoop him up and cover him with kisses, tell him everything that happened on his long adventures, how, when times were rough, he remembered his y/n was waiting for him at home, he knew y/n was the one for him, the only one, he knew y/n felt the same too, they were what some might call..soulmates.

He felt his eyelids begging to close, but before he gave in, he made one final request..

“Kiss?” After that, he felt his face not able to move, he was paralysed..literally, but he did see y/n lean forward and give him a gentle kiss, but, he didn’t feel the familiar feeling of y/n on his lips, in fact, he felt nothing..

You kissed his soft lips, it used to make you giddy but, this time, you felt nothing, you felt like you were kissing a cold piece of meat rather than your lover, but you did notice that his hand went limp, that he looked paler than usual, that he didn’t have that smug look on his face anymore..

Hiccup, Astrid, the twins, everyone around you was crying, so why didn’t you feel anything..

“Baby?Did you find out what the commotion was?” You heard Erik step out and look at you quizzically, before gasping, “oh my god is that guy dead?”..

“Y/n, who is that??”

Hello! I just saw your hiccup headcanons and I wanted to make a request (obviously for male reader, I totally agree there aren't enough male reader in the httyd Fandom). Maybe one in which reader is kind of scared of dragons and hiccup and toothless help him out? Or something involving toothless trying to make the reader less afraid of him. Tyyyy!!!

Y/n had been living in berk for a long time, he had never quite gotten used to the violence towards dragons but this new change was certainly..new, instead of hating dragons, the people now loved them, you couldn’t quite wrap your head around it, from stabbing dragons to scratching their chins..

One of the many dragon lovers was Hiccup, the chiefs son, you had met him when you were training to become a dragon fighter but..times change; Some conservatives on the island were still slightly sceptical and who were you to disagree?you were one of those few, I mean, you’d literally watch them eat your fathers whole livestock-so you weren’t exactly fond, although you were a bit more sympathetic towards the beasts, although still terrified, you tried to avoid them as best you could!you had everything under control…until you didn’t.

You and Snotloud had gotten into a petty argument, next thing you know, he pushed you into one of the nearby dragon homes,not just any home, the chiefs’ sons’ dragons’ home!

You were beyond terrified at the dark coloured, winged lizard; it started at you confused,as you dropped to the floor and felt your breathing quicken, all you could think about were the flashbacks, your house on fire, your sheep eaten, dragons shooting fire everywhere and the absolute tr-

“Hey, don’t worry, he doesn’t bite” a soft voice breaks through your inner turmoil.You open your eyes to meet the gaze of hiccup, the chiefs son.Hiccup kneels down next you and gently wipes away your tears with his thumb.”He’s friendly, I promise” you glance over at the dragon-he hadn’t moved from his initial position, although he tilted his head a little, slightly confused at your reaction.

Hiccup helps you up and gently walks you closer and closer to the dragon."His name is Toothless-that isn’t a very scary name now is it?”he laughs slightly and pets this ‘Toothless’ character on the head. “Do you trust me?”he asks out of nowhere, it slightly confused you, but he was the son of the chief after all, the boy who went from zero to hero.

“Yeah, I do trust you..” I murmur, not expecting much.He then takes my hand and brings it closer and closer, I feel myself panicking but toothless looks friendlier then the other dragons..I, reluctantly, let my hand be guided towards his nice, flinching when contact is made, but toothless my surprise he doesn’t move or act scary, he just sighs loudly and relaxes.

“See?He’s friendly, right bud?”Hiccup smiles, elbowing toothless slightly, the dragon nods his head-almost as though he understands him.

“Feel any better?”I nod, now feeling more embarrassed than anything, although hiccup reassures me “there’s really nothing to be embarrassed about, i know you and some of the others are still adjusting, it’s okay”he smiles kindly.Once the nice silence passes, I announce “okay, now I need to give snotlout a good talking to.” But as I leave the dark haired boy shouts-

Snotlout was many things, cocky, confident, loud, obnoxious, but he would’ve never described himself as lovesick..

There was a new guy on the island, his family had moved here in search of better opportunities and due to the rumours about Berk being a dragon-friendly place!Y/n and his family quickly adapted to this unique lifetime, something which many often fail to do..

Y/n was many things, he was popular, kind, extroverted, along with just being easy to get along with, he was many things that snotlout was not..

When y/n first joined, all snotlout could feel was anger-he would vent to poor Hookfang for HOURS with rants such as “What does y/n have that I don’t??”, but, over time, his anger softened and he started to see what everyone else saw..

Y/n was quite popular and was quickly roped into the friend group, as he had quite the natural talent for riding and eventually got his own dragon, which he rode often for hours on end, he often began to ride with his new best friend-Astrid.The two bonded over their shared love and experience with dragons-even riding around together on stormfly into the late evenings; when y/n was with everyone else, he was just kind and thoughtful to everyone around, he would give someone the clothes off his back if someone asked-something about y/n was just so enticing, he kept trying to make his moves, calling y/n handsome along with flexing his muscles but nothing seemed to work, y/n saw his flirting as just something he does to his friends, which snotlout should’ve realised in hindsight ad he truly flirts with everyone..but he knew he had to try something, anything, he was truly desperate!!

Everyone had just came back from a nice ride, but Snotlout was fuming, Astrid and y/n looked like they were flirting the entire time!!He just couldn’t take it anymore..As he searched for his victim in the banquet hall, he finally caught on to him…hiccup.Snotlout ran up to him and grabbed him by the sleeve“You’re coming with me, outside, now.”he growled, pulling him away from his meal…

Snotlout hugged and let him continue “y/n is a nice guy, just go talk to him, okay?I’m sure he liked you back!”

“Fine..”

Snotlout walked in and sat next to y/n, as he raised an eyebrow “you took your time” you murmur, rolling your eyes sarcastic and continuing to eat your feed” Snotlout smiled-he couldn’t help it around you! “Well..I was just asking hiccup a few questions..”you smile at the thought, Snotlout wasn’t one to let his pride down enough to ask questions-you knew that much..”

You laugh at the thought “sure, you were ‘asking questions’, well, what exactly did you ask?”Snotlout winked and simply said “I was asking about how he managed to befriend someone as beautiful as you”not the truth but also not a lie, Snotlout hoped by genuinely flirting it might help him..

You snort in response “sure you were Snotlout..”you say in between bites of food.
