I find it intellectually riveting—nay, anthropologically spellbinding how the phrase “shipping real people is gross” only ever seems to escape the lips of those morally panicked individuals when the ship in question is Larry. Ah yes, the ancient art of selective sanctimony. A tale as old as heteronormativity.

Like, where was this moral grandstanding when the internet descended into collective hysteria over Haylor, a coupling that lasted roughly the same amount of time it takes to microwave a burrito? Or when Elounope was treated like a royal marriage forged by the gods of coordinated pap walks? Not a murmur. Not even the faint rustling of a hypocrite’s conscience.

But the minute someone so much as breathes the word “Larry,” people start clutching their pearls like Victorian debutantes confronted with ankles.

Apparently, concern for the psychological sanctity of celebrities only activates when two men are involved. Fascinating! Positively textbook! Freud is doing the Macarena in his grave.

And let’s be abundantly clear: Larry is not and hasn’t been “just a ship” since like…2012? This is not your average, garden-variety “they’d be cute together” scenario. This is a multi-layered, intertextual, slow-burn epic spanning over a decade, filled with mirrored lyrics, shared wardrobes, matching tattoos, suspicious silences, and the kind of emotionally-charged eye contact that could power a small European village.

We’re not shipping. We’re conducting a longitudinal queer study with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and footnotes. Our thesis is due. MLA format. Peer-reviewed by Tumblr.

And the most mind boggling part? There is objectively more compelling, tangible, eyebrow-raising evidence that Harry and Louis are together than there ever was for Louis and Eleanor. Whose vibe resembled two wax figures posing for a Sears catalogue titled “Heterosexuality: We Swear.” Meanwhile, H&L were out here singing at each other like star-crossed lovers in a tragic musical sponsored by Modest management and Syco entertainment.

But sure, we’re the ones who need psychological evaluation.

And the absolute audacity of people dissecting one side-eye in a red carpet photo of a straight couple and calling it proof of eternal love, then turning around and calling Larries “delusional” for noticing literal patterns that have spanned an entire decade… it’s giving hypocritical rococo goblin.

If you genuinely believe shipping real people is wrong, then please kindly evacuate from every straight ship tag with the urgency of a possum in a Whole Foods. But don’t masquerade as the Patron Saint of Privacy while gleefully reposting Haylor edits with “All Too Well (10 min version)” playing in the background.

It’s not about ethics. It’s about comfort. And queer love stories—especially the ones they tried to bury under PR and denial—make people uncomfortable.

So no, we’re not “invading privacy.” We’re just exceptionally observant, chronically online, and possibly a little feral. But also? Right.

Do you have any darker thoughts about your fav ATJ characters?

Bestie, I have so many thoughts, and I’m totally blaming @otaku-girl-ao3 for this. A few weeks ago, we spent an afternoon on Discord brainstorming what the ATJ characters would be like as dark versions of themselves and how that would manifest in distinct and interesting ways.

Just a quick note—this is quite a departure from the usual content on my blog and the type of things I typically write about. Recently, I’ve been gathering the courage to explore some darker themes in my writing (I blame BookTok for introducing me to a lot of questionable tropes). Please be kind and let me know if you’d like to see more of this kind of writing from me!

Sergei is a meticulous planner, taking his time to observe you and learn your habits. He likely comes across you by chance—perhaps while on the job or visiting his brother. It’s your scent that first grabs his attention, but it’s not what draws him back. It’s the softness and sweetness in your demeanor, the vulnerability you exude, completely unaware of the dangers around you. You’re the easiest prey he’s ever tracked, unaware even of the most basic threats. You’re always buried in a book or your phone, headphones on at full blast. If it weren’t for his quiet intervention, you would have been robbed or worse on your way home at least twice. 

He takes you because he believes you're not meant to be on your own. You need someone to care for you, to protect you from the world that you don’t fully understand. Really, it’s lucky your paths crossed. He’s certain you’ll come to see things his way in time. Until then, he’s turned his home into a beautiful little cage for you to live in, complete with an entire library filled with your favorite books, cozy blankets to keep you warm, and all the ingredients for the meals you love to cook and enjoy. He’s done his research on what you like and he’ll bring you anything you ask for. Afterall, he’s a provider at heart.

There’s no concern of you running away. You've seen the large snow leopard that prowls around outside, and the one time you made a foolish attempt to escape, Sergei was quick to show you that he wouldn't always be so gentle or understanding. As @writercole suggested, once he has you back, he’ll also end up keeping you tethered by the ankle for a while, a lesson that if you try to run, he’ll leash you.

After you recover from that experience Sergei finds you’re a much better pet, settling into your new life and role. You start cooking for him when he's home, and willingly crawl into bed beside him, seeking out his warmth on those cold winter nights. Soon, Sergei knows you’ll be ready for the next step: starting a family of your own.

Friedrich (in a modern AU) strikes me as the type who would quietly manipulate situations to his advantage, working behind the scenes to ensure things unfold just how he wants. He’d spot you working at a cafe or store he frequently visits and, from that moment, start working on a plan to make you his.

Rather than using overt force, he’d rely on subtle pressure and gaslighting, making you doubt yourself and your choices. He’d skillfully set up circumstances to undermine you—ensuring you miss out on a job you desperately need, getting you fired, or putting you in a position where you have no choice but to turn to him. When you're at your lowest, he’ll swoop in as the savior, the one who appears to protect you. His goal is to make you dependent on him alone, carefully ensuring that when the time comes for him to make his move, you're in no position to resist. Consent would be questionable, but he'd remind you every time you hesitated that you said yes, that you asked for his help, and that you invited him in.

I can also see him isolating you from friends and family, slowly pulling you away from the support system you once had. He’d definitely be the type to love-bomb you, showering you with overwhelming attention and affection, using his money and influence to manipulate you further. 

He strikes me as a baby trapper, sabotaging your birth control or tampering with his condoms to ensure you get pregnant. He believes you'd be the perfect wife and mother—you just need his help to realize that. Once he has you, he’d be the most loving and attentive husband, always caring, but beneath that sweetness lies an unshakable belief that he knows what’s best. He’s the one who makes the decisions, subtly guiding everything with quiet confidence until, over time, the balance shifts in his favor and you start looking to him for help with even the easiest things. Despite all of this, Friedrich would likely still view himself as a good person, firmly rejecting any notion that he is abusive or in the wrong.

Tangerine is on the opposite end of the spectrum, much more inclined to use brute force and physical violence to make you understand your place. He has a short temper and struggles with impulse control, especially when you don't follow his demands. There’s no slow build-up with him—he has no time or patience for romance. The moment he sees you on the street, he decides you’re coming home with him, and that’s final. Or maybe Tangerine and Lemon are sent to kill your husband but when Tangerine sees just how sweet you are, completely unaware of who and what your husband really is, he decides to keep you for himself. After all, no one's going to miss you. They’ll assume you died in the house fire with your husband. 

Once he had you he would try and spoil you with a beautiful place to live, fine clothes and decadent food. He’d want you to look and dress a certain way for him. A darker version of him would fit the profile of a classic abuser—lashing out at you in anger, only to later show up with flowers and a hollow apology, turning the blame onto you as if you were the one who provoked it.

“Why do you have to make things so fuckin’ hard, huh?” Tangerine questions, caressing your bruised skin. “I hate when you make me do this to ya luv. You need to listen better.”

He’d definitely be the most terrifying of all the dark versions of the ATJ characters because of his unpredictability. (I do not know why but I have such a strong sense he’d pop you in the mouth/back hand you with those rings on and just….yeah.)

If Ives were to go dark, he’d likely abuse his power and authority in the workplace, targeting someone beneath him—someone who wasn’t military and who he could easily manipulate using his strength and knowledge. Maybe you’re his admin, someone he works closely with, and no one questions the fact that you’re often in his office with the door closed or staying late to finish tasks together. He’d be blunt about his intentions with you, setting clear expectations for how things would unfold. His actions would be predictable—if you were a good girl, you’d be rewarded; if you misbehaved, there would be consequences. Ives would be a steady, unyielding force, confident that, with time, you’d fall into line.

Against every fibre in your body, you disobey and further the distance to the unbelievably attractive man instead. Much to his dismay.

A light blush spreads over your cheeks towards your ears and your lip wanders between your teeth. Because the reason for your distraction is so stupid.

“It’s just, we’ve been doing this for a while.” Hooking up at this very bar every weekend for the past few months. For the life of you, you can’t remember how it even started. Possibly with a conversation and his hand on your thigh. Probably with a few shots while celebrating your birthday. “And I don’t know anything about you.”

“Which hasn’t been a problem until now. So, where’s this coming from?”

The first few times were fun. Hooking up in the bathroom, words limited to the absolute necessary. If anything, it made it even hotter. Being with a stranger whose name you hardly remember. But then the comments started. You don’t know which of your friend was the first to say something. It might have been Seungmin, questioning how you could keep hooking up weekly without knowing the first thing about him.

And now you can’t shake the comment out of you if you try. The voice is a constant tenant of your metaphorical head-apartment. Living rent-free.

“My friends. They’ve been asking questions about you. None of which I can answer.” Which is stupid, because it shouldn’t matter. What matters is the incredibly handsome and muscular guy in front of you. Changbin— you think.

You’re surprised when he doesn’t laugh at or dismiss their concern. “Okay, then. Let’s do it.”

Cocking an eyebrow, you look down at his hands as they begin travelling up your thighs again. Leaving goosebumps as they burn into your skin.

“Do what?”

“Get to know each other. Might as well play 21 questions while we’re at it.”

His lips brush against your jaw before he urges them against your neck. Checking the quickening of your pulse as he licks at the veins.

But you can’t think. His touches are a true distraction, moans tumbling out of your mouth as you finally spread your legs for him. He slots between them, fitting like the last piece of a puzzle.

“You do know how 21 questions works, right?”

His hands grope at your flesh, pulling you closer until you can feel him against your most sensitive part. Why’d you have to speak up? He could have been inside you by now, but you had to open your stupid mouth.

“I call my mom every day.” That definitely fits the category of deep talk. Although, the thought of Changbin’s mother doesn’t exactly fit the moment. “Number three, I’d like to take you out one of these days.”

When the tip of his thumb reaches for your clit, you see the realisation hit his features in real time. You’ve ruined your panties and he can feel it. He has ruined you, and he can see it. From your rolled-back eyes to your tossed-back head. You’re in absolute ecstasy.

Changbin thumbs at your nub, drawing circles with your own wetness. Smirking with pride like a lunatic.

It’s an alarming promise, Changbin threatening to leave you high and dry if you don’t give him another one. A second fact about yourself. “Maths. I’m good at maths.”

You’re all but howling when he enters a third finger and curls them up against your spot. That’s when you loose the rest of control over your body. None of your movements are under your own command anymore, Changbin’s the sole reason you’re even still sitting upright.

“That’s two. I thought you were good at maths. You’re one short of earning my mouth, sweet thing.”

The promise alone almost makes you fall of the edge. His mouth on you. Coaxing you to your sweet, sweet release. It’s not far, but Changbin is the only one who can make you reach it. You don’t doubt he’ll leave you on the edge if you don’t give him a third fact.

It’s unfortunate that you can’t form coherent sentences anymore. Let alone think of a third fact about yourself. Absolutely pathetic.

“Please—” Swallowing the lump in your throat, you stare up at him, begging, pleading. “Please, just let me come.”

“Nuh-uh,” he teases with a smirk. A soft kiss hits your nose, then your lips. “That’s not a fact, sweet thing. Don’t you want to come on my tongue?”

Again, the thought alone has you clenching on his fingers. You’re so full, so close, and yet, can’t think of anything.

Maybe if you copy one of his facts, he won’t notice, right? But what was it he said? Oh, right. Gym, mom, date. But, you don’t go to the gym and you don’t talk to your mom daily.

“So, what is it?”

“Date!” you blurt out and he looks confused. “Take me out.” But that’s a prompt, not a fact, so you correct even further, teetering on the edge of heaven and hell. “I’d like it, I mean.”

Changbin debates for a second whether your words count as a fact. You can tell he wants to tease you some more, relishes in it. Thank God, he decides against it.

A sigh of relief escapes you when he finally leans down, pushes your skirt up and connects his lips to yours. And that’s all it takes.

One second his tongue prods against your clit, the next you’re coming on it.

And come, you do. You’re sure you’re squirting all over his face as he swallows up every bit of your release. Cleans you with his mouth until you’re glistening in spit and overstimulation. It doesn’t seem he wants to leave the space between your thighs and you have to drag him away when it becomes too much.

The card service I use says they ship worldwide and, while it might take a bit longer for you to receive your card depending on what country you live in, the cards will get mailed to whatever address you provide, domestic or foreign. Last year I mailed/emailed a total of 111 cards to the United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Brazil, Romania, Poland, Australia, Germany, India, Japan, and New Zealand!

He found her staring at the open seas again. The pirate supposed Byakuya was deep in thought about something again, or simply admiring the view. But his gut feeling sensed it was more of the former than the latter this time, even if he couldn’t explain why. An idea quickly came to mind, making him grin mischievously.

Ace approached her silently, tip-toeing and sneakily so she wouldn’t notice his presence (though, it’s hard to conceal himself sometimes). Then, catching Byakuya by surprise, both arms wrapped themselves around her waist in a tight hug, lifting her in the air and making her spin.

Since setting sail with Ace and the others, Byakuya often found herself on the deck of the Moby Dick, staring off at the sea. It would typically be for multiple reasons; one of the usual involved her reflecting on how different her life had become in just the last few months. She supposed that she'd often be out there because watching the sea was relaxing. She'd gotten back into knitting because of it- joking about making Ace a sweater due to how often she'd be out there. But she'd actually been able to leave her home island; she learned to sail, learned more about fighting. She even learned more about Haki from Whitebeard himself. She's learnt so much about everything thanks to Thatch, Marco, Izou, Whitebeard- and especially Ace. They'd all already done so much for her, helped her adjust to everything; it was hard to imagine doing it all without them. Without Ace especially.

But speaking of Ace…

Byakuya felt arms wrapping around her, lifting her. She let out out squeal, arms flailing as she was spun around. She let out a laugh, hand lightly thumping against Ace's chest as he set her down. "You're lucky I wasn't holding anything; I could have hit you with it!"

They both knew that wasn't true- she knew knew it was Ace sneaking up on her- unless the was lost in thought, but even then; she could never bring herself to hurt him.

Byakuya reached up to lightly poke his cheek and smiled up at him. "You're unbelievable."

She loved him anyway though; that much was obvious.

Being familiar with Tim's work, this actually makes sense 😂

Q. Why would ABC care if the article acted like a Buddie spoiler though? They've been Buddie maxing since they acquired the show.

A. I don't think it was the Buddie spoiler that was the problem. It essentially was a massive Eddie spoiler. As far as the audience is concerned, at this time anyway, we only know Buck is into men. We have no canon answer regarding Eddie. Confirming Buddie is a will they/won't they spoils the Eddie outcome. ABC won't want to do that. They will want to let the episodes tell that story. The more I think on it, the article was probably always supposed to come out this week. What I think happened that actually threw off the writeup is that the episode that ended up being 8x13 wasn't originally supposed to be 8x13. I think the schedule is off by a couple of episodes. We already know that the first half of the season did not go according to schedule because first Tim extended the season premiere arc from 2 episodes to 3 episodes and then he extended the Brad nonsense. So we lost bits of storyline we otherwise would have had by now if Tim hadn't made those two decisions. The Eddie/Christopher stuff was probably supposed to have more focus in the first half of the season, and it would have made way more sense to have Eddie move at the end of the mid season finale, which was probably the original plan. ABC cutting everything a week earlier than the show expected didn't help either. But because Tim did what Tim does, and got distracted by side quests, it got pushed to the back half of the season. That explains why they had to work the Buddie parts into episodes 9 and 10, where they didn't really belong, but had to be added anyway because they have to hit certain story beats by the end of the season. I also think that's why the Eddie/Christopher reunion happened very quickly once Eddie arrived in Texas. They have to move the story progression along to be where they need to be by the end of the season. They have to be where they can use the off season to promote the Buck and Eddie relationship going into season 9, there's no way that's not the plan given what we've already seen. So yeah I don't think the Buddie part is what they were trying to keep quiet. I just think if they had been able to stick to the original episode schedule the audience would have had the Eddie answer by the end of episode 13. So the article ended up coming out earlier than the necessary Eddie information made its way to the audience. Does this make sense at all, anon? Lol.

'A Marriage of Convenience'

Kate Lethbridge Stewart x F! Reader

Chapter 1 | Next Chapter

A/N: Okay so finally got the first chapter done! I will be doing a taglist so just let me know in my inbox or the replies :) Warnings/Tags: Slowburn for this chapter Words: 1,664 Summary: Kate asks you to attened a security confrence in France with her, and you had agreed. You spend the rest of your work day thinking about it.

You sat across from Kate in her office, her mouth was moving but you weren't listening to what she was saying. You just nodded along like you knew what she was talking about.

"Are you listening?" Kate raises a questioning eyebrow at you.

"Hmm?"

"Are you listening?" Kate asks again.

"Yes, yes of course." You flail your hands around in denial. Kate raises a questioning eyebrow at you and hums. She goes to continue and stops before she even opens her mouth.

"You're not listening," Kate gives you a worried look. "Is everything alright, you're usually not this distracted."

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just tired." You gave her a thin lipped smile and tucked your hands under your thighs, to keep from biting your nails.

"You should go down to medical and have them take a look." Kate suggest as she fiddled with the pen in her hands.

You shake you head, she's the reason you haven't been sleeping. She's the one that has been keeping you up at night.

"I'm fine, really." No you were not.

Kate eyes you suspiciously, and dart your eyes around looking anywhere but her.

"Well," Kate pushes back from her desk, gathering her things. You looked at the clock up on the wall. It was her lunch break, and yours. "We'll leave Friday."

"Leave Friday? Where?" Kate lets out a chuckle at your confusion. It was so painfully obvious that you hadn't been listening.

"France. There is a conference that I have to attend anyways, we received a tip that there was a sighting around the same area. It'll be a simple undercover mission." Kate steps around to the front of her desk and leans against it.

"Okay, so how long will we be there?" You look at her with your brows furrowed. What had you gotten yourself into.

"The conference runs for a week, so I imagine no longer than that if everything goes according to plan." You nod and stand from your seat in front of Kate. You were leaving Friday. With Kate. Just the two of you . Alone. Great.

"Okay so, Friday. Conference in France, for a week." You repeat the facts back to her and she nods. You turn on your heels to leave the office, Kate following behind you.

You both walk for a while in silence. You both head out of the UNIT building.

"Hey, Kate. Do you maybe, want to grab lunch together?" You stop her as you wrap your arms around yourself to protect yourself from the wind. You had forgotten how windy it had been when you came in to work this morning.

She smiles and lets out a chuckle, you could listen to her laugh forever.

"Sure." Kate smiles at you and you both walk down to the small corner cafe.

You both sit by the window in the cafe. Kate orders a sandwich and a cup of tea. You order a similar sandwich and a iced coffee.

"So, what is this conference for anyways?" You ask Kate as you take a bite of your sandwich.

"It's a security conference. It's just basic routine, it's every couple of years." You nod slowly in understanding.

A security conference. Should be a simple mission. A done-deal.

You make small take for the rest of the meal. You ask about her gardening and she ask you about what you like to do outside work. Your lunch passes you by and soon enough you both have to return to the office.

Kate holds the door to the cafe open for you as you both walk out. The cold air bites at your skin and you wrap your arms around yourself.

"Here, wear this." Kate places her blazer on your shoulders.

"Kate, no I can't. I'll be fine until we get back into the office, and what about you?"

"Nonsense, it's a bit of a walk. You should keep warm. I'll be fine." Kate pulls the blazer tighter around you, dismissing your concern. Her fondness was not doing you any favors.

You could feel the heat rush to your face at the close proximity of your boss. You look down at your shoes, god this was embarrassing.

You took a deep breath in and look back up at Kate, who had a worried look on her face. You clear your throat, and pull Kate's blazer around you even tighter.

"Are you okay? Your face is all flushed." Kate goes to put the back of her hand on your forehead, like she's checking you for a fever. You take a small step back.

"I'm fine, we should head back to the office." You look at her wide eyed. This is the most you've interacted in months and frankly it was putting you off. You both walk back to the office, Kate's blazer wrapped tightly around you.

You walk back into your small corner office, Kate's blazer still on your shoulders. You sit down at your desk, looking over the paperwork that had been left on your desk during your lunch break.

You let out a sigh, it really was just one thing after another. You sit down in your chair to start signing and filing the papers away. It's a bunch of diagnostic reports.

Your looking one over, the end of your pen in your mouth when a knock on your door frame draws your attention.

"Hey, I have this report for you." Mel pokes her head into your office with a file in her hands.

"Mel, thanks." You put your pen down onto the stacks of paper that cover your desk. You gesture for her to come in.

"Come in, I could use a bit of a break." Mel walks into your office and hands you the file, you set it down on the pile and lean back in your chair.

"Is that blazer new? I've never seen you wear it before." Mel asks as she sits down. Kate's blazer, you had totally forgotten she had given it to you.

"Oh no, Kate and I were walking back from lunch and I got a bit chilly. She gave me her blazer. I guess I forgot to hand it back to her when we got back." You look down at yourself and feel yourself flush.

You were wearing your boss's blazer, this could bring up so many rumors, but Mel was one of your best friends and she wouldn't do that to you or Kate. Mel knew you had a massive crush on Kate and you could see the teasing coming from the moment you admitted it was Kate's blazer you were wearing.

"Kate's blazer, what else? Did she ask you to go to that conference in France with her?" Mel let out a laugh, and you pressed your lips into a thin line and your cheeks grew even redder.

"No! She didn't. Did she?" Mel crosses one leg over the other and leans forward. You nod slowly in embarrassment.

"She did, and before you ask, I'm going." You put your head down on your desk. "What am I going to do Mel?" Your voice muffled by your desk.

"I'm not sure dear, try not to get to distracted I guess." You let out a sad little chuckle and bring your head back up.

"Yeah," You smile and look down at the stack of papers on your desk. "I should get back to these or I won't be leaving tonight." You gesture to the stack of papers on your desk.

Mel nods and goes to walk out of your office, she stops at your door frame and turns around to face you.

"I want to know every detail when you get back." You nod and she leaves you to your work.

You work until the late hours of the night. The clock hit 12 just as you finished up the last file. You let out a sigh and put your face in your hands. You were so tired and you were honestly debating just sleeping right here, hunched over your desk.

A knock on your door makes you shoot your head up. You give the blonde a tired smile.

"Hey Kate," You reach behind you and grab her blazer that you had draped over the back of your desk chair. "Here's your blazer, thank you for letting me borrow it." You stand from your chair and hand it to her.

" I didn't realize you ever stayed this late." Kate takes her blazer from you, and you go to grab your own coat from the coat rack in the corner of your office.

"I usually don't, but I needed to get those reports looked at and signed off on." You smile at her and grab your bag, fishing for your car keys.

"Are you sure you should be driving?" Kate asks as she puts her blazer on.

"No, but I don't think either of us should be." You laugh and finally find your keys, they jingle as you place them into your pocket. You look back up at Kate who was leaning against your door frame, a worried look on her face.

You've gotten a lot of those from her today.

"I'm fine, really. I'll see you Friday?" You sigh. You had the rest of the day off and god you were going to enjoy it.

"Yeah, let me walk you out?" You sling your bag over your shoulder and smile.

"Sure, lets go." Kate walks out of your office first and you follow behind her, hitting the lights as you leave.

Kate walks you out to the parking lot.

"See you Friday." You wave to her as you make your way to your car, Kate waves to you and waits until your safely in your car to walk back into the building.

You start your car and you rest your hands and head on the steering wheel.

You and Kate alone for a week. It was going to be a long week, a very long week.
