why do i feel somewhat ill?

i am trying to figure out why i am currently feeling mildly sick, and i figured i'd crowdsource my ideas because i'm at a loss. i get that nothing is severe and i'm not insinuating that it is, this is an annoyance at worst, i just want to know why and i figure asking randos online is a good way to find out

symptoms: sore throat, runny nose (not bad), headache, large and very red tonsils, head feels kinda warm, general malaise sensation

other important information: my father, with whom i reside, is feeling scuzzy also.

he would not even consider for a second. i think he'd be outright OFFENDED by the offer. there's nothing and no one waiting for him back there, there's nothing to go back to. will graham, the profiler, the man who lived in a cold home, expanses of nothing around him and within him, died when he hit the rocks of that cliffside, shattered across the sea. whoever, whatever creature walks now is not him, but something more. a half of a whole.

action wise, i think he'd tell hannibal immediately. i think whichever way it goes, they'd find a way to get back at the fbi. he'd play hesitant, uncertain. put on that feigned persona of meekness and fragility. he's been manipulated, abused, he's lost himself too deep in the job, just like before. he just needs someone to help him out. he's scared. a wolf in lamb's clothing.

they'd agree to meet. he requests other agents, none he knows. i'll hand him over, it'll all be okay, i'll come home.

it's a bloodshed. they do it together, hunters circling their prey, traps set and waiting with biting teeth. they make art together, something of a final goodbye. jack never truly knew him, the fbi never saw him as he was. it's his finalization, a exhibit to his true self, of the man he is with hannibal, elevated past the scrambling, odd man he once was thought to be. they leave a letter, they sign it together at the bottom. they hyphen their last names when they do

totally random mononoke thoughts, and.... potentially unpopular opinion? but however the two sequel mononoke movies go, what I really don't want above anything else is like, a kusuriuri backstory. or things explaining in depth how kusu (and that whole system, because I guess there was a lore dump semi-recently, but I personally don't like the gist of it so I've been ignoring it lol) and his powers work. for me, kusuriuri is such a compelling character because we know nothing about him, and yet he continues to exist, just like many enigmatic forces of nature in that world.

I wouldn't mind there being little hints or implications, but any sort of definitive backstory or lore explanation would genuinely disappoint me lol. I don't wanna know!

I admit I still kind of am in survival mode from yesterday. Like I was the "this is fine" dog with a metaphorical house on fire around me. And By God I sure fuckin managed it. In that last hour, as time crept up and I started panicking a bit, I just kept muttering to myself about how "it's fine, I'll be fine. I'm so Fucking good at finishing things." And ykno what? I Did It!!!

But now I still feel that feeling of impending doom. Like there is something I need to do Right Now and if I don't I am going to be Severely Fucked. Trying to get myself to relax some bc while there *is* stuff I need to do today, it's nowhere near as pressing or as monumental a task as yesterday's thing. I could just link to the introduction of the SKULL snipers from Mission 28 Code Talker but even that I feel is so unbelievable to see with your own eyes that it would exit the mind as soon as it stopped playing.

Literally every criticism made during that era toward's this game is accurate. Every single one.

It might legit be the WORST example of "male gaze," literally literally ever. Out of everything.

If MGSV had outright no women in it whatsoever it would be better than what this is.

The cutscene for when Big Boss comes to Mother Base after not showering was what sealed it for me.

And the fact that there were people back then who thought they could defend this perhaps makes it even more deranged.

So the book club that I've been in since 2022 has 9 regular members now including me, and we have collectively read a total of 28 books together now. This month we put all of our book choices and the members' ratings of the books on an Excel spreadsheet, and have been having fun figuring out various trends and statistics and so on – what decades we have mostly read from, what countries, what genres, what our most and least highly rated picks were for each year, etc. I also thought it would be fun to use the spreadsheet on my own to figure out who rates things most and least similarly to each other in the club. What shocked me was that I found out that I scored the number one most similar/compatible rater to every single other person in the club except two (I was 2nd most similar rater for somebody and 4th most similar rater for the other). Also, apparently me and the guy who I scored least compatible with based on our ratings/taste have the top rated book selections on average in the club so far. I'm not at all sure what this means except that I just know from now on I'm going to have this secret semi-subconscious goal in my mind of inching my way higher in this one outlier book club member's taste compatibility scoring for 2025 hahaha

ONLY FIVE oh no LMAO To be honest I really love rereading my own stuff (it’s tailored to all my hyper-specific interests, after all! 🤣), so just picking 5 is hard, but I’ll try.

Redux Hero (FF7, Zack & Sephiroth, M) for sure! It’s a rewrite of the first fic I ever published online, and this time I finished it lmao FF7 has been such a big part of my life, so getting to be super indulgent with my headcanons in a big adventure story with my all-time favorite characters was such a joy to write. Plus I ended up with absolutely wonderful people hyping me up while I was working on it! And it helped me with processing some of my own personal shit. I could write a whole other book about how happy writing this one made me lol

Poster Boy (FF7, Zack/Seph or Zack & Seph, G) - This was my first Seph & Zack fic where I really felt like they matched my headcanon versions of them, to the point that if I’m having a bit of trouble with new fics, I like to reread this one to kinda get back into the right mindset. Like a voice actor having a key phrase to get into character, I guess lol Plus it’s just short and cute, so it’s a nice, quick, pick me up if I’m having a rough time writing.

What Lies Beyond the Lily of the Valley (FF7, Zack & Seph, T) - this one is close to my heart, since it acts as somewhat of an homage to the old FF7 fics I used to read as a kid Namely, “Lily Valley” by LuckyLadybug. That fic (and a lot of her other fics tbh!) really inspired a huge, huge love of Sephiroth and Zack just going on missions together. No big catastrophic, world-ending threat; just the job. Being friends. Uncovering horrible secrets and organizations that aren't Shinra. Or, as is the case with my fic, the two of them uncovering a whole undiscovered realm that, by the end of, they want absolutely nothing to do with LOL I had so much fun with the fae shenanigans. 

FFS, I Believe in You (Breath of the Wild, Sidlink, T) - MY FIRST FINISHED FANFIC LOL and also just the goofiest thing from start to finish (minus the Angst, there is definitely also Angst). I feel like this one really helped me learn how to make notes and actually construct a whole multichapter. It also forced me to learn how to write in iambic pentameter, which. Is that useful? Idk. Is it funny to me personally? Extremely so, yes. I didn’t really participate much in fandom before this fic, so it also ended up being an amazing opportunity to meet some incredible people, and coaxed me out of my lurker shell a bit lol (Also I don’t think I’ll ever beat this one in kudos, with any other story, which is just gonna make me laugh forever because SHAKESPEAREAN LIZALFOS??? THAT’S the most popular one I’ve written?? Understandable, I wouldn’t have it any other way LMAO)

Out of My Head (Venom (Marvel Comics), SymbiOT3, M) - I really let loose with this one and ended up using a lot of writing techniques that I still use in my writing today. Most especially, not feeling guilty about shorter chapters lol It’s at the top of my list for revisiting if I can ever get my brain to fixate on Venom again, because dammit I had two other arcs planned aaaaaaaaAAAAA— hopefully someday. RH did get a rewrite after uh, 9 years, after all;;;;;;;
