it’s always so crazy to me how much weight is put on John and Paul’s romantic relationships and how they affect the Beatles, not Ringo or George’s.

I feel like it’s always “John fell in love with Yoko”, “Paul fell in love with Linda” and that’s why the band fell apart. Which - aside from being absolutely crazy conclusions that lack the nuance of, y’know, acknowledging Ringo and George (and also the whole host of other problems the band had) - is so fascinating to me because what do you mean it all hinged on John and Paul being together? What do you mean the band was absolutely peachy when Ringo or George were in love but as soon as something serious drives a wedge between John and Paul it’s all over?

There’s something in stating they found other people so they couldn’t be together that implies such a toxic codependency but also an insane jealousy of anything that takes the other’s attention away. Point is I think their devotion to each other made the breakup worse.

as a former escape room host i highly recommend doing an escape room as a first date. its a great way to learn how ppl react under pressure and how well they collaborate with you right off the bat. also more than once ive seen people enter an escape room as a couple and exit broken up LOL its a fantastic litmus test

‘twist villain’ is always good of course but i’m such a sucker for ‘twist hero’. specifically as in they write a character to be as suspicious and unnerving as possible without really actually doing anything wrong yet but you just KNOW something is wrong but then surprise. they’re fine actually. all the alleged wrongdoings were either lies harmless or taken out of context. it’s even better if the suspicious aspects of their personality don’t go away after the reveal that they’re a good guy. they just act and look and talk like that for fun. they’re just a little silly

also eloise bridgerton is conceptually the most hilarious character on the whole show. claims to be a feminist but every time her fellow women talk about their artistic pursuits or hobbies or interests or ambitions she’s like ugh you all fucking suck. not me though. i’m different. i want to be like my brothers. and then she has no real talents of her own. she’s not a feminist she’s still a reactionary turbohater AND a girlfailure. what she’s trying and failing to articulate is that she’s a lesbian.
