(name)s_username Hey... so it's been awhile. I've taken time away from the internet and from the cameras to focus on myself and on my relationships and in that time I realized how far I was pushing myself and other's away from me.

I will be taking a step away from my on-screen role(s) at Smosh since it is not fair to you, the fans or to anyone working at Smosh to work around my schedule. I will try and make guest appearances if I can and I'm sorry if I ever got your hopes up for things to go back to where they started but I hope that at least some of you will come out to support my new projects and I understand fully if you cannot.

Thank you to my team, my friends at Smosh, Sydney and Glen, and to Spencer for always being there for me. I know that I have not been myself these past few months but I think I'm finally finding what I need so stay tuned for a more happy update later lol.

y/n sighed as her phone blew up yet again, her notifications going insane on the bench next to her as she watched her girlfriend train.

Jonas was shouting football instructions y/n vaguely recognised from the sidelines as the training session drew to a close.

y/n was lucky, Jonas was fine with her in the training sessions having been with Katie so long, the team loving her and the fact a lo of the training staff's children had private dance lessons with y/n.

As the session slowly drew to a close, y/n left her phone blowing up on the bench as she went around and helped with picking up the cones.

She found herself at the training centre more often recently, finding it boring being at home while she waited for the announcement of her new job, the BBC still keeping it quiet.

As y/n bent down and grabbed another cone, two familiar hands placed themselves on her hips and as she stood back up she was pulled back into a chest.

"Alright, twinkle toes?" Leah asked with a mock Irish accent, y/n laughed as Katie's head popped up at the sound of her, the Irish woman rolling her eyes at her teammate who had her arms around her girl.

"Oi, Williamson, hands off!" Katie yelled, leaving Caitlin and Alessia who rolled their eyes as the Irish woman chased down the currently benched blonde captain.

Katie's hands pushed Leah from y/n, the blonde stumbling as Katie wrapped her arms around her lover, pressing a long kiss to her lips as y/n squeaked and turned to face Leah worriedly.

"Katie careful with her!" The dancer chided her girlfriend who rolled her eyes as Leah pouted, leaning into the natural worry the dancer had for her.

"Yeah Katie, careful with me." Leah mocked and the Irish woman scoffed.

"No." Katie chided as y/n tried to move from her arms.

"I wanna help." The dancer whined at her girlfriend. Katie just shrugged and kissed her again, Leah groaning in disgust as she walked off, wanting to go bother someone else.

"Y/n! Your phone's going mental!" Kyra calls from across the pitch, y/n pulls away from the worryingly addictive lips of her girlfriend and looked toward the young girl.

"Yeah, I know darling, just leave it." y/n called, Kyra grinning at her as she followed the rest of her team inside, leaving the two lovers alone on the pitch.

"Social media still going mad over us?" Katie asks her worriedly, her slightly clammy hand coming up to cup her love's cheek as she nodded.

"Yeah, but it will die down eventually." The girl said unbothered.

"You sure you are still okay with us going public?" Katie asks and the dancer giggled.

"Too late to take it back now Katie-bear." She smiled, Katie hushing her use of the nickname which melted her heart.

"Shh, if the girls heard that nickname I would never heard the end of it." Katie tells her and the dancer in her arms laughed, Katie's hands squeezing her waist tighter at the sound which made her heart light.

"Oh yeah, you have to keep up that big bad wolf persona." y/n mocked with a giggle, Katie looking at her offended.

"Excuse me, I am a big bad wolf." Katie defended.

"In your dreams lovie." y/n laughed, but she screeched when Katie threw her over her shoulder, Katie's strong hands holding tight to her thighs as she began to spin in circles.

"Ready to say sorry?" Katie asked, her grin wide at the sound of her lover's giggles.

"Okay, okay I'm sorry." She called, which caused Katie to place her back on her feet, the Irish woman's hands coming to rest on her hips to steady the dizzy girl, who hadn't been able to spot on a place while being spun.

The dancer giggled again and Katie couldn't help but cup her face and pull her in for a kiss, their lips meeting and Katie quickly deepening the kiss.

Katie's arms moved back down to grip the hips of her lover, pulling her closer to her body, y/n's small arms wrapping around Katie's neck, holding tight as she pulled herself up and closer.

Katie's tongue infected her mouth, claiming her as she squeezed her tighter to her body, both of them too caught up in the deep kiss to hear Leah coming to look for them.

"Oh come on!" Leah huffed. "Take a breath!" She yelled at them, Katie rolls her eyes as her hand slips down and squeezes her girlfriend's ass to annoy the blonde who gagged from afar.

y/n pulled away giggling, as Katie squeezed once more before letting her go, the Irish woman grabbing her hand as they walked toward Leah, the blonde holding the dancer's phone in her hand.

"You two are sickening." Leah says, a thump echoing her statement causing Leah to whine, and cling to the dancer who instantly comforted her.

"Katie!"

"What?"

Reading TGCF: Chapter 52

For those who don't know, I am reading TGCF for the first time and sharing my thoughts!

If you have not read it, there will be spoilers! Consider this a warning.

I just got off the phone with my sister where we spent 20 minutes talking about tea and ordering locally roasted coffee beans in various flavours.

In that conversation was talks about flavoured matcha, and I thought hmm well shit, I could use a matcha latte rn.

ao3 wrapped [writers edition]

thank for tagging me @exitvelocities! I'm sort of afraid to find out how much I posted this year. If you're mentioned in this, consider yourself tagged if you want to be.

01. How many words have you written this year?

checking ao3 stats, it's 98,298 words (wtf). some of that was written in the tail end of 2023 and some of it was old wips, buuuut there's probably enough unposted in my wip folder to make up for it.

02. How many works did you publish this year?

19! I know that without checking because I'm desperately hoping to write a 20th just to hit 20. It was...a prolific year. That's an all-time high for me, I think.

03. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

This is so hard because there are so many fics I would absolutely go to bat for this year. Not only was this a productive year, but I really, really loved writing so many of these fics. I'm actually going to give it to Attic Wife Guy because that's the fic that got me writing again after 4+ months of not writing at the end of 2023. It's the first sequel I've written in years. I don't actually know that it works tonally as a sequel, but it meant a lot to me to get it posted at the time.

04. What work of yours has the most hits?

Hilariously, it's My Strange and Sad Desire's Keen with 3,221 hits. I wrote that sitting on my balcony in a daze after watching the first 4 episodes of Meet You at the Blossom. When I posted it, there wasn't even a canonical fandom tag.

05. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected?

Domestic Cats, the only Word of Honor fic I posted this year. It's catboy fic in the jianghu. I underestimated how much the people wanted to read about barbed catboy dick, clearly.

06. Favorite title you used?

I don't knoooow. I feel like I did a great job with various bonkers titles this year, which is always my goal. My favorite is probably how good is that pussy, babygirl? because I think it's hilarious and thematically appropriate for that fic, but "Attic Wife Guy" is a close second.

07. If you use song lyrics, which artist’s songs did you pull from the most?

I almost never use song lyrics because I don't hear them. I've started using poetry this year, which has been passingly weird.

08. Pairing you wrote the most for this year?

huaibao! They're the only pairing that got five fics because I'm more of a multishipper in my other fandoms.

09. Favorite pairing you wrote for this year?

Fanghua. I can't be normal about them. I don't want to be normal about them. I want to make them your problem.

10. What work was the quickest to write?

I wrote "rose colored glasses" for the bit in...probably less than 2 hours? At considerably more length, I wrote "My Strange and Sad Desire's Keen" and edited it in an afternoon.

11. What work took you the longest to write?

I posted 3 different fics that I started in 2021 and 2022, actually. I had to check this, but the winner among those is Mother, May I?, which I started in March 2021.

12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?

I think I have 4 wips that I might realistically finish in 2025:

13. What’s your longest work of the year?

If we count posted, it's "Attic Wife Guy" at 12k. If we're including what's drafted, it's The Things We Can and Cannot Say, which is somewhere over 20k. I'm sitting on a finished 3rd chapter, a partially drafted 4th, and then...a bunch of other scraps for the remaining 20-odd chapters.

14. What’s your shortest work of the year?

"rose colored glasses"! It's 500 words because almost all the fics in wick's series are in round 100-word increments and I wanted it to fit the bit.

15. What WIP are you taking into next year with you?

The only one that's posted is "The Things We Can and Cannot Say" and that's the only one I feel like I can guarantee I'll keep working on. I love writing that fic, even when I'm making myself crazy about it. The whole experience is very sickos dot png.

16.What’s your most common “Additional Tags” tag?

It's a tie between "First Time" and "Alternate Universe - Modern Setting" at four separate uses each. Long time Bats watchers will be relieved to know that I tagged 3 fics with "Rimming" this year.

17. Your favorite character to write this year?

A tie between Li Lianhua and Jing Beiyuan. I love a chatty liar.

18. The character that gave you the most trouble writing this year?

Di Feisheng. As a POV character, I really struggled with him. He doesn't work terribly well with my natural writing style.

19. What’s one pairing you want to explore next year?

Difanghua. It's the pairing I should want to write most for mlc, so I'm going to try to honor that energy and make it work. We'll see.

20. Which work of yours have you reread the most?

I'm not counting re-reading while I'm drafting because that gives a huge boost to fics I got stuck on, so I'm giving this to go down sweetly, my lovingly unhinged dihua fic. (Have you ever wanted to read a fic about Li Lianhua fingering Di Feisheng's wound and then roleplaying Li Xiangyi while domming him? No? Well, look, I did.)

21. How many kudos in total did you get this year?

AO3 stats says 2,088, which I assume is just for works posted this year.

22. Which work has the most comments?

I'm going by comment threads here since I reply to comments, but am not currently caught up on replies. Unsurprisingly, it's "The Things We Can and Cannot Say", which is chaptered, with a close second place tie from "My Strange and Sad Desire's Keen" and "how good is that pussy, babygirl?"

23. Did you do any collaborative works this year?

Yes! @saki-the-cup-bearer-blog and I posted a dihua collab. She did gorgeous art for my fic A Place Not Unlike Home, which she also betaed. I'm also working on a dihua fic with @exitvelocities about Di Feisheng and Li Lianhua's jianghu road trip adventures.

24. Did you write any gifts this year?

YEAH GIRL you know I did. This was a year for writing for other people, actually.

"I don't like playing favorites," I say as I point directly at "The Things We Can and Cannot Say." Honestly, I love at least 75% of what I wrote this year. There are several fics I wrote that I loved that haven't made it into this round up, so I want to give an honorable mention here to Not Unlike Him in Form and Shape, the fic I couldn't wait to finish mlc to start writing. It's the pure distillation of the moment when I thought to myself, "Hooboy, I'm not gonna be normal about this show."

29. Favorite line/passage you wrote this year?

I was going to pick something lovely and thoughtful, but no, it has to go to this iconic quote from "how good is that pussy, babygirl?", which is both very funny and very in character:

“Are you a man?” Xiaobao asks, half shouting to be heard over the din. “No.” “Are you a woman?” “No.” Xiaobao frowns, brow furrowing. “Can I keep touching you?”

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

It was really strange to say goodbye to Qiye and the larger Zhou Zishu cinematic universe after spending more than 2 years with various parts of it. But also committing to posting a wip as I write has been exciting and terrifying in equal parts.

There's this one person, who really grinds my gears. They are very anti- Leto and Rhea (?!)

And their posts are so uninformed with no lack of proper understanding. The worst part is they try to sound smart and give niche sources but ignore the context of them if they go against their argument.

Fore example, they say Demeters relationship with Zeus happened before his marriage to Hera (They cite the theogony) so therefore it wasn't an affair. But they actively dismissed the Theogony as a reliable source when it comes to Leto's relationship with Zeus becauseit goes against the canon. They also call her a rape victim when... baby that's Orphism which if you actually paid fucking attention to the text you'd realize it also "goes against the canon". More on that in a bit.

They argue that Hera can't fight back or directly retaliate against Zeus because he is the king and therefore more powerful than him, but then they bash Rhea for not doing anything punish Zeus (like girl what is she supposed to do, if Hera can't do anything what makes you think that Rhea can) and by that logic why did literally any other god not do anything like Hestia and Demeter? On top of that, they criticize Rhea for not preventing Zeus’s assault on Demeter and Persephone... but in the source, they outright say that Demeter is Rhea, and she did try to prevent Persephones assault like wtf?! They don't read the shit that they're citing. Rhea helping Zeus' children isn't her supporting him or his mistresses. It's literally her protecting the children. Harming children and pregnant women isn't girlboss behavior.

They also go on a whole tangent that Hera is so much better than Leto because she has a throne on Olympus, her husband's support, and her cult is way older and independent from her children. They go into actual history when it comes to defending Hera but ignore Leto's, who was seemingly an anatolian mother goddess and a recognized consort of Zeus. In the Theogony and the illiad, she is called the wife of Zeus alongside Hera. In the hymn to Apollo, she literally has a seat besides Zeus. She isn't just a side piece.

I have no problem with people critiquing the gods, but I find it intellectually insulting to see someone misuse primary sources to defend an unnecessary argument.

Ahh, pretty sure I know who you're talking about. Their posts popped up in tags I track so I just #blocked them. Not before reading their uninformed takes, unfortunately.

In the end, the big issue here (aside from the ever persistent "THIS god is good and THAT god is bad" pattern) is that people treat the gods as characters. They expect them to be consistent in their behavior and actions, and then complain when they don't act as they think they should. I've talked about this before, but the characterizations of the gods in ancient texts tend to be kind of vague, or they all more or less share the same traits.

Another point I cannot stress enough is that events unfold the way they do in myths for a reason. They can't happen any other way because they are events of pretty much cosmic significance. The birth of a major god like Apollo, essentially the original hero and monster slayer, cannot be an ordinary, unremarkable happening. And if you think about it, most important second generation Olympians have very curious tales surrounding their births.

And although there is a general accepted mythological "canon," there are variations depending on the time and place, yet still some key occurances remain unchanged (Hephaestus' fall from Olympus, Persephone's marriage, Leto's difficult labor etc.)

So, sure, you can write Hera accusing Rhea of not supporting her while Zeus sleeps around with other women in your retelling, but your retelling is not a corpus of stories (or even pre-historical "events") meant to explain how the world and the divinities that rule over it came to be.

idk anything about sm and pv's dynamic but is it kinda like billford if it wasnt homoerotic but equally toxic?

I THINK SO YEAH that could be a good way to look at it because there are parallels. billford was straight up homoerotic (...wtf was going on at the top of bill's pyramid at, like, the end of s2? he had that old man CHAINED UP and was SERENADING HIM... 🤨), but i don't see that with sm/pv at all, though maybe it's because i am aroacespec?

regardless, i very much dislike them as a ship because of how fucked up it is. like i do enjoy some flavors of toxic old man yaoi, i.e., dottolone billford (sometimes for the latter) etc, but this is a little too toxic for me, you know? even i have my limits LMAO

obligatory since i'm putting this post in the fandom tags and don't want to hear anything: i don't really care what other people ship as long as it doesn't involve children or anything, so i don't care about this ship that much BUT i do have reasons for avidly disliking it.

(don't mind me, i took this as an excuse to yap! you don't have to read the rest if you don't want to <3 but to answer your question, yes that is a good way to view it in my opinion!)

important things to keep in mind:

sm brutally psychologically torments vanilla's friends, who are—in comparison to him—literal CHILDREN in age, all in front of his very eyes and to varying degrees depending on the decisions pv makes in order to get him to crack (i.e., worse decisions result in worse treatment of the kids and vice versa). sm is angling the situation to where it looks like he is putting their fates in pv's hands, when he is really in complete control of the situation the entire time (or so he believed, anyways), so he places that pressure upon pv to keep giving and giving and giving in defense of his friends until he can't anymore. kinda like what bill does to dipper and mabel tbh

sm has been trapped in a fucking tree for god knows how long. of course he's desperate to find connection anywhere he can!! pv says himself that he is the only one who could truly understand sm, and that's entirely true because of the connection they share via the soul jam. however, pv is a better and stronger cookie than sm ever was, and does not crack like he did when put under similar pressures (and sm HATES HIM for that btw)

there's no romance imo, they are literally just narrative foils. sm is really just projecting onto pv. he wants to see him fall into corruption just like he did to get some kind of mental justification to ease the cognitive dissonance he feels regarding his own fall into corruption. shadow milk hates pv because he hates himself and he cannot bear to look at what he could have been. kind of a headcanon but also kind of implied in canon, iirc?

Ignore what I said about queuing this. I wrote the rest of this post when I was in a better headspace; now I’m petty and pissed off, so I dug into my queue and grabbed it.

Do you ever get hate from a stranger on a post and wonder… How did you even find this post??

Still getting used to the idea that fandom antis will apparently purposefully browse the tags of the thing they hate because it seems so genuinely pointless to me, but ok. I’m starting to understand that some people just choose to be angry, I guess.

But what blows my fucking mind is that I got hate on a vent post???

I don’t tag my vent posts with anything but my tags and content warnings. And I tag them #[topic] cw so it’s not like people are finding them in the main tags for that thing.

Reblogs are turned off, so it didn’t get thrown onto their dash by someone they follow that follows me and reblogged it in good faith.

So this person had to:

Choose a thing to be intentionally hateful about.

Choose to search not just for that thing, but instead to search #thing cw.

Find a post made 12 hours ago with 5 notes on it.

Decide, Yup, time to be an asshole!

I try to assume ignorance before malice. I try to assume someone’s having a bad day before I assume they went out of their way to be an asshole.

But I genuinely do not understand how you could accidentally stumble upon an unrebloggable vent post only tagged with cw tags.

How?? Why??? Wtf?? Why do you even care? Do you gain anything from this? Does this make you happy?

Or are you scrolling, seething about how much you hate, hate, hate a certain group of people? Are you clenching your jaw? Is your blood pressure rising? Do you need to take a break and do some breathing exercises?

Fucking go touch grass.

I’m writing this post for the same reason I made my other vent post: because it helps me process. Sometimes, I just need to scream into the void without bugging my partners or taking up time in my therapy sessions. And sometimes, my mutuals comfort and/or commiserate, which is nice.

But I genuinely cannot think of a world in which hate-scrolling an obscure tag would in any way positively impact my life or anyone else’s.

The last time I hate-scrolled, it was through a repost account in an attempt to go find all the original artists that the blog had stollen art from. I found one, and a few other artists had already been tagged, but eventually, I got so angry I couldn’t focus anymore.

So I stopped. I blocked the account. I moved on.

And the only reason I didn’t do that from the start was because it was genuinely helping someone for me to hate-scroll. It helped the artist I contacted. If I had been the first to get to a few other works I recognized, it would’ve helped those artists too.

I also didn’t seek out this blog; one of their stollen posts showed up on my dash and I went, Wow, that’s stollen art! Time to go fuck shit up!

Who does it benefit when you seek out other people’s posts when you know the content is upsetting to you, just to hate on them? What does that accomplish besides marginally increasing the suffering in this already shitty world?

Queueing this rather than posting it so that it won’t be obvious which vent post I’m talking about, but holy fuck this makes me feel things.

First I’m fcking heartbroken that my Durge will not experience the moment of finding the letter/s to Franc in it’s original form or at all(?)

And THEN I FIND queerphobic posts and insane comments about Gortash “definitely not” being queer or “just having had a “business relationship” with Durge..? Even tho there’s enough evidence✨

Now… remember when we all adored Astarion and then more and more ppl started joining the tags, groups whatever and now it’s a whole toxic mess that you cannot scroll thru without getting a headache? (It’s sad the magic of it all is kinda dare I say gone.. I just look at it/him idk different, involuntarily at that, but I’m glad that Durgetash is giving all that back in insane amounts that let’s my adhd feet kick in dopamine fully-sated energy *incoherent babbling*)

I think the same is (bhaal forbid) maybe swapping over to Durgetash and I’m scared … cuz this, here… what y’all create! (art, hc’s, stories & just fun post’s overall) is so fxking special and so lovely🌷

And I really fxing hope that the ppl at bg3/larian have a REALLY good reason to *cough cough* meddle in each other’s I MEAN OUR affairs, when we already barely have anything, WHAT WAS THE REASON– just why, there’s enough bugs and crashes or other stuff that needs tending WHY TAKE AWAY?!

First off, I hear that some people still see the letter, and others do not. Apparently, it's SUPPOSED to have replaced it, but some people just have computers that are built different, I guess. So you might possibly see it. Not sure.

As for if toxicity is spilling into the Durgetash fandom...maybe? I don't know. We were all pretty civil. I admit, I lost my cool for a minute there, but to be FAIR TO ME, I have not STARTED anything with anyone in literal years.

This was someone sending ME a reply that really pissed me off with its biphobia, like, absolutely ticked me off in one foul swoop.

But for the most part, it's not THAT Combative. But this note changing HAS divided people quite a bit.

So I don't know.. I want to believe durgetash and gortash love are still not mainstream enough to maintain the levels of toxicity that astarion fans seem to cultivate like horticulture.

We'll see.

As for why they changed it...I don't know?

Really seems odd. Maybe they didn't like the tone of it.

Truthfully, as much as I love that note for just being so out of pocket and weird, I admit it's more in character for Gortie to be a more serious guy...but honestly?

It's the fucking game's fault that they made Gortash a boring villain. They FORCED us to cling to his every note. To read more into his interactions with the Dark Urge.

HELPPP LMAOAOA not me syncing up w you subconsciously…black out days (by phantogram) was fr the soundtrack of my 2021 fall life i listened to it sooo much i heard it the other day and was like forcibly thrown back to that period of my life KSDJHF i felt like it fit with the theme though…because like the background is black…so it’s like black out days…haha…also it’s just like an aesthetic title (?? i think that’s the official name for that particular bit of text ?? no idea though) and i didn’t feel like digging for another song so this is what it is for this theme HAHA

ISN’T THE HEADER FIREEEEE UGHHHHHH sighing dreamily i think that’s one of the prettiest headers i’ve made like ever…so visually pleasing…so thematically appropriate (not that crows really have anything to do with the story but yk. karasu) KSJHFS okay so ngl it’s the header for my vague thoughts about repurposing my megumi royal au (which i already took down jic) where he’s the royal guard but for karasu LMAOO i know we discussed yukimiya for it hence my post about karasu or yukimiya but a) i will always pick karasu and b) look at these lines from the very first version of the royal au (technically the version i took down was the second version because i attempted a rewrite but the first version is what people remember most fondly) and tell me megumi doesn’t give HEAVY karasu vibes in them…like he actually feels more like karasu than himself KSJDHFHK (also these are in no particular order in terms of chronology LMAOO i just took random screenshots…there’s way more karasu-esque moments but image limit + trying to give you less to read so i picked a few highlights that show why karasu is actually lowkey the perf option) unfortunately royal aus are hard for me to stay motivated for so i was like “okay i’ll be responsible and not do this to myself” however i AM rewatching reign rn (kind of…one episode a week pace sadly) so that might get me in the headspace to work on it?? idk

LMAOAOA I DID FINISH!! i think part of it too was just me realizing i needed to give up on gege and accept that i had to come up with my own ending because honestly i finished around when shinjuku started becoming that weird repetitive cycle of fights and that gave me the courage to stop waiting for him to give me a satisfying ending and just become canon divergent…i can’t write a story if i don’t know the end beforehand which is why part 1 of pi was super quick for me — the “end” was planned in terms of the end of vol0 and her bringing yuta back to life!! but then i didn’t know where part 2 and everything with tullia that i set up was going to go until i had the vision of her dying to kill sukuna (also fun fact the way the title connects at the end with the blood like pomegranates was not in fact foreshadowed it just came to me as i was writing the epilogue…i don’t even remember where i got the idea for the title for atp but it was well before i even had the idea for the blood pact and all of that LMAOAO pi was one of those stories that genuinely wrote itself and came together perfectly as i went which made me seem like a foreshadowing genius but in fact it was just happy coincidence)
