1) I’m a very compassionate person. I guess it’s nothing I rather like or dislike about myself, it’s just part of who I am. Sometimes I may care for others way more than I care for me. I genuinely don’t like to see people hurting or suffering, especially women and children, animals and elders. They deserve the highest respect.

2) I’m not an enabler. I may be soft hearted most of the time, but I do not sympathize over every sob story or disaster. Because I’m an extremely empathetic person, I must be careful with how much energy I exert, otherwise I’ll get drained of nothing. And that really really puts a physical, emotional and mental toll on me. However, this is why I listen and try to understand both sides of things.

3) I was born a creative person. I love all forms of art, I love colors, words, shapes and sounds and I love to see how many things I can create when I arrange these structures in many different ways. I can say that art is one of the main reasons I’m still alive today.

4) I’m a huge thinker. Actually I can overthink way too much for my liking, but other than that, thinking is critical to me. I observe before I react which helps me to gain any knowledge I may not have known before. I love to learn.

5) I’m a very loving person. I’m probably someone who could fall in love quite deep, but it might take me a minute because I’m skeptical of it at first. In general tho, i love everyone and everything because i believe those energies flow for a powerful purpose, a divine purpose of universal balance. You don’t need a price or knowledge or validation to love. love is a universal expression. Well actually it’s a lot of things but I won’t get into that. See? There I go overthinking again!

5 things I like about myself? This is gonna be difficult. 

1.) Hmmm. I always make sure that everyone is happy before myself? I can see that being a bad thing in a sense. But I wanna make sure everyone is okay because I know what it’s like not being okay and dealing’ with it alone. 

2.)I’m always willing to listen. You wanna tell me your thoughts on a certain topic? Boom got you. Dirty thoughts that you need to talk about? Darling go for it. 

3.) I’m very understanding of peoples opinion. I think the problem with the world is that no one is willing to open their minds to other opinions. Even if I don’t agree with your opinion I’m willing to accept that what’s you believe. (Except if you believe no means yes, that nazis and the kkk are okay then we’re gonna have some issues. 

4.) I’m okay with just sitting by myself. I believe that you have to enjoy yourself in order to enjoy others. That sounds weird I know but after a few months of coming back into the world from a bad past. You have to be able to enjoy yourself. 

5.) I don’t let my past control my future. Too many people think that your past controls your future. The past is the past. Yes horrible stuff happened but I consider it a learning experience. Don’t let your past change your future.

Vivi x Lewis Headcaons!!!:

They met at the Pepper Paradiso. 🌶 Vivi went in one day for lunch to read a new comic and was distracted by a really cute waiter who took the time to help his little sister with her homework and color with the smallest sister. (Plus Pepper Paradiso 🌶 is one of the few places that allows dogs, so Mystery was always welcome.)

Vivi continued to make it her daily routine to come in, be it for only a shake or small soup or a full meal. Lewis, bless him, was oblivious of Vivi's crush, despite her very obvious flirting tactics.

"Can I get you anything else, Ms. Vivi?" "I'll take a tall glass of you." 😘 "Oh! Of course! The Lewis Shake, coming right up!" And proceeded to bring his mami's pinkurple milkshake.

(Arthur's uncle and Lewis's dad are good friends, and with it also being a small town, Arthur was already good acquaintances with Lewis and talked easily with him, much to his friend's, Vivi, surprise. She tried to get some help but Arthur wasnt much help. Men.)

Very quickly, the four became close friends and formed Mystery Skulls.

Lewis's parents noticed the crush and were not only looking forward to potential grandchildren, but Mami had to step in and offer the idea that the Yukino girl might like him.

At first Lewis just laughed and said they were only friends. But he thought about it more and more and started to see her a little differently.

One day, Lewis was looking for a new comic and he was ecstatic to find a limited edition Sailor Moon🌛 artist book. He went up to the front desk, pleasantly surprised to find Vivi running the register.

Upon learning of Lewis's love for Sailor Moon, Vivi went to the back and got a DVD set of every episode ever and bought it for him. He said he'll only allow it if she comes over to watch it with him. And so their first date was in his room with pizza 🍕 and PJs and Sailor Moon🌛.

Vivi bought Lewis an alpaca when she saw a cute pinkurple one at a store. He slept with it every night and named it Sapporo.

Vivi knows a good chunk of Spanish 🇪🇸 thanks to mandatory high school classes and living in Texas 🇨🇱, where nearly everyone at least knows the basis, but Lewis only knows a few words in Japanese 🇯🇵 thanks to anime, and he decides that isn't good enough. He goes as far as to an online class on the language and surprises Vivi when he one day can hold a full conversation with her in Japanese 🇯🇵. Vivi is a little emotional and blames allegories on her watery eyes, because no one outside of her family ever spoke Japanese 🇯🇵 with her, meanwhile half the town speaks Spanish 🇪🇸 with Lewis.

Vivi might have had a crush first, but Lewis falls in love faster and and harder.

Yes they go out on dates and Mystery Skulls missions, but their best dates are in Vivi's apartment or in Lewis's bedroom and watching cartoons.

Lewis may have introduced Vivi to Sailor Moon🌛, but she introduced him to Gravity Falls 🌲.

Ironically, Vivi likes hanging out at Lewis's better and Lewis likes hanging out at Vivi's. Vivi loves all the noise and sisters and smells and the pure chaos. Lewis loves it too, but it's nice to take a break and enjoy the quiet, small, clean apartment.

Once when eating ice cream, Lewis was watching two moms feed their children the sweet treat and he smiled and thought outloud, "Our children will be so beautiful... I bet they'll be troublesome lile their Mama." And he stops chuckling when he notices Vivi choking on her sundae.

Vivi and Lewis called each other things like, "Cariño/a" and "mi amado/a," Lewis has called Vivi "Hermosa" a few times and Vivi once made him scream "DON'T!" by calling him "Papi chulo."

Vivi will sometimes call Lewis "Calaca" lightly or as a joke. Lewis actually thinks it's funny, but Arthur CANNOT call him that.

The Dead Beats have been unofficially adopted. Vivi calls herself "Mama" and Lewis "Papa" around them and even calls Arthur "Uncle Arthur" in front of them. Mystery is, of course, godfather.

My, have the turns tabled. Vivi can now pick Lewis up, who is lighter than air. He was embarrassed at first but it would be a lie to say he doesn't like it.

While many physical signs of affections have to change or disappear thanks to no longer jaw, Vivi and Lewis found it hardly matters, as long as they're together. Holding hands or touching foreheads or snuggling are all they need. But that doesn't mean Vivi doesnt sneak kisses on Lewis's skull here and there. 💋

Vivi introduces Lewis to meditation 🧘‍♂️ to help his intense emotions, mich calmer now but still part of being a ghost. Souls are emotional, what do you want? While often Lewis does it alone, sometimes Vivi will meditate with him. 🧘‍♂️🧘‍♀️

Vivi can give a good massage! Lewis may not feel pain as much as he did in life, but his bones to get stiff and sore, and Vivi also focuses on massaging his chakras to help his soul feel better. And, bless him, can not give good massages. He just doesn't know what he's doing, but Vivi lies through her teeth and claims he gives great back rubs.

Lewis is now THE BEST pillow and smuggle buddy! He's so warm and soft and Vivi could hug him forever if he would let her.

REVIEWING THE CHARTS: 05/12/2020

Earlier this week, I finished and released by end-of-year list of the Top 10 Best Hit Songs of 2020, which, for once, was on time, being released on the 1st – or 2nd – of December, depending on your time zone. That means I’ve already spent hours discussing music, and to be honest, I have a pretty bad headache in addition to this, so you know, I’m not really in that chart-reviewing spirit. Thankfully, we have very few songs to review here, and a lot of it should be pretty inoffensive. Now, before that, let’s talk about the actual state of the charts because it is looking ridiculous. Ariana Grande’s “positions” spend its sixth week at #1, and welcome to REVIEWING THE CHARTS.

Rundown

Much like last week, it was an absolute bloodbath for any non-Christmas song this week, and this especially affects the hip hop and R&B on the chart. In the UK Top 75, which I cover every week, there’s a drastic difference to the US Billboard Hot 100, and that is the lack of radio. Radio impressions or plays have never been counted on the UK Singles Chart, and whilst in the States, I understand that a lot of Christmas songs rely on the radio, this is not true at all across the pond, because, for whatever reason, Christmas songs are streamed and bought a lot here even 60 years after the song’s original release. This is likely due to a smaller, arguably less diverse population and the immense amount of streaming service-curated playlists, which serve the same purpose as radio and often have the exact same label gimmickry and payola. Regardless, there is a stupid amount of drop-outs and fallers this week, for pretty big tracks as well. Now as I said I only cover the top 75 of the UK Singles Chart because it’s just easier and really, who cares about those last 25 songs? On the UK Singles Chart proper, Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved”, one of the biggest hits of 2019 and 2020, just spent its 100th week on the chart, which is insane, especially for a modern song. I think the song is dreadful but it is one of the biggest songs of all time here on the Isles, and since we’re going by my measures, it just dropped out (after spending seven weeks at #1, mind you). Of course, that’s not the only notable drop-out – and to be notable, you have to have spent five weeks on the chart or peaked in the top 40 – this week. Let’s list them, shall we? We have “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles, which spent 40 weeks on the chart, as well as #1 hit “Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)” by Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo, “Giants” by Dermot Kennedy, “Mood Swings” by the late Pop Smoke featuring Lil Tjay, “Lighter” by Nathan Dawe and KSI, “Take You Dancing” by Jason Derulo, “Holiday” by Little Mix, “Tick Tock” by Clean Bandit featuring Mabel and 24kGoldn, “Come Over” by Rudimental featuring Anne-Marie and Tion Wayne, “Lasting Lover” by Sigala and James Arthur, “Holy” by Justin Bieber featuring Chance the Rapper, “One Too Many” by Keith Urban and P!nk, “Papi Chulo” by Octavian and Skepta, “Heat Waves” by Glass Animals, “Deluded” by Tion Wayne and MIST, “Confetti” by Little Mix, “pov” by Ariana Grande (to make way for another one of her songs we’ll get to – also probably the only actually good song that dropped out this week) and finally, “Life Goes On” by BTS off of the debut at #10. On the chart proper, this is one of the biggest free-fall drops of all time, and honestly, who wasn’t expecting this? Speaking of falls, we have a lot of those too. Whilst these are fallers, you should consider how impressive they are for even trying to survive the holiday season, which just can’t be done for a lot of these songs, even the biggest hits of the year, some of which we just mentioned. One of the funniest parts of this to me is that KSI of all people survived the overload of Christmas songs through his Craig David chorus on “Really Love” with Digital Farm Animals down to #17. For a former YouTuber, he has an immense amount of star-power and it’s kind of worrying. Otherwise, our notable fallers include “Paradise” by MEDUZA and Dermot Kennedy at #24, “Train Wreck” by James Arthur at #25 (not a good week for either of these guys – or anyone), “Monster” by Shawn Mendes and Justin Bieber at #26 off of the top 10 debut, “Mood” by 24kGoldn featuring iann dior at #27, “Head & Heart” by Joel Corry and MNEK at #29, “Get Out My Head” by Shane Codd stripped of all of its gains at #31 (seriously, whilst most of these songs were fading naturally prior, this is worrying), “Lemonade” by Internet Money and Gunna featuring NAV and Don Toliver at #34, “Lonely” by Justin Bieber and benny blanco at #42 (giving him four songs as a lead artist on the chart – OCC, that’s not how your dumb rules work; be consistent), “See Nobody” by Wes Nelson and Hardy Caprio really having the most intense combination of streaming cuts and Christmas music at #44, “Wonder” by Shawn Mendes flailing at #45 (it will probably rebound next week), “Blinding Lights” by the Weeknd at #46 (same here), “Golden” by Harry Styles at #47, “Loading” by Central Cee at #48, “What You Know Bout Love” by the late Pop Smoke at #49, “i miss u” by Jax Jones and Au/Ra at #50, “Sunflower (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse)” by Post Malone and Swae Lee at #52, “UFO” by D-Block Europe and Aitch at #55, “Plugged in Freestyle” by A92 and Fumez the Engineer at #56, “Princess Cuts” by Headie One featuring Young T & Bugsey at #60 (which happened to play as I was writing this), “Looking for Me” by Paul Woodford, Diplo and Kareen Lomax at #61, “WAP” by Cardi B featuring Megan Thee Stallion at #62, “Diamonds” by Sam Smith having the biggest fall to #63, “Ain’t it Different” by Headie One featuring AJ Tracey and Stormzy at #65, “Chingy (It’s Whatever)” by Digga D at #69, “Come Over” by Jorja Smith and Popcaan at #70, “SO DONE” by The Kid LAROI at #71 and finally, “Flavour” by Loski and Stormzy at #74. A YouTube comment on the video version of this chart read, “RIP to hip hop and R&B in the UK, 2020-2020”, and, I mean, it’s a fair assessment. That’s not all though, folks, as we have the returning entries, most of which are very explicitly Christmas songs. Let’s start with “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” by Sam Smith at #75, and continue up the chart with “Cozy Little Christmas” by Katy Perry at #73, “Christmas Lights” by Coldplay at #72 (always the best song on the entire chart whenever it returns), “A Little Love” by Celeste from the John Lewis advert at #64, “Feliz Navidad” by José Feliciano at #54, “Santa Baby” by Kylie Minogue at #57, “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” by the late Dean Martin at #54, “Sleigh Ride” by the Ronettes at #52, “Mistletoe” by Justin Bieber at #43, “Happy Xmas (War is Over)” by the late John Lennon, Yoko Ono and the Plastic Ono Band featuring the Harlem Community Choir at #40 (always the worst song on the chart whenever it returns), “Wonderful Christmastime” by Paul McCartney at #39 (this is an accurate ranking of the Beatles), “Jingle Bell Rock” by the late Bobby Helms at #38, “Holly Jolly Christmas” by Michael Bublé at #37 and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by the late Andy Williams at #36. Yes, that’s five consecutive Christmas songs returning to the top 40, made all the more ridiculous when you realise it’s topped off by “HOLIDAY” by Lil Nas X... at #41 – and it actually gained this week! Oh, and we don’t stop there either as not only do we have “Santa Tell Me” by Ariana Grande returning to #16 as well, but we also have all of the gains this week. All of our notable gains are in the top 40 and all but one are Christmas songs, so let’s start with “One More Sleep” by Leona Lewis up to #33 (our greatest gain this week) and continue up the chart with “Merry Xmas Everybody” by Slade at #32, “This Christmas” by Jess Glynne at #28, “I Wish it Could be Christmas Everyday” by Wizzard at #23, “Driving Home for Christmas” by Chris Rea at #22, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Justin Bieber and Brenda Lee at #21 and #19 respectively, “Underneath the Tree” by Kelly Clarkson at #20, “Step into Christmas” by Elton John at #18, “Do They Know it’s Christmas?” by Band Aid at #15 (looking at this chart, I think we ALL know exactly what time it is), “Merry Christmas Everyone” by Shakin’ Stevens at #14, “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” by Michael Bublé at #13, “Fairytale of New York” by the Pogues featuring the late Kirsty MacColl at #9, “Last Christmas” by Wham! at #3, and finally, “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey at #2. I don’t know if I’ll be happier if a 1994 classic hits #1 for the first time this Christmas, or an Ariana Grande song about sex positions takes the Christmas #1, given, of course, that LadBaby doesn’t pull something out of his ass last minute. Christmas also actually lands on a Friday this week, so there’s potentially two Christmas #1s: the #1 on Christmas Day and the #1 that includes Christmas Day. I mean, there’s this issue every year but since the chart week literally starts and ends on the day this year, I guess we’ll just have to see what the Official Charts Company decides. For now, after not-so-swiftly covering all of that garbage – and there’s three weeks more of it to come, folks – let’s discuss some of our new arrivals, none of which I imagine will be all that interesting but, hey, at least they’re not Christmas songs. In fact...

NEW ARRIVALS

#68 – “Body” – Megan Thee Stallion

...It’s the antithesis of what it means to be wholesome, commercial and festive. You all know and love Megan Thee Stallion by now, and whilst I didn’t listen to that debut record yet – it is 17 songs after all – I have heard pretty positive reception so I will check out Good News at some point. Rico Nasty did release a record that’s only one less track and 13 full minutes shorter, so to be honest, I’m a lot more excited to check out that album, even if it won’t have any impact here. I did laugh at the track list when I saw “Intercourse (feat. Popcaan & Mustard)” though, which is one of the few times I have genuinely laughed at just a track list. “Shots Fired” is a pretty great Tory Lanez diss track though, so I’ll say that. “Body” is relatively deep into the track listing, yet seems to be the biggest hit, mostly because of that polarising earworm hook and the music video. Oh, yeah, and it straight-up samples a woman having an orgasm, so don’t expect this to stick around. In fact, that’s the only melody behind this dirty South bounce-adjacent track, and even with that, it only comes in on that chorus, which is less annoying to me as it is just catchy. It’s not like men haven’t done the same thing, though, I mean, Dr. Dre famously – or infamously – “paused 4 porno” on his album 2001, and just in 2018, Kanye released “XTCY”, a song that is hilariously lacking in any kind of moral compass, let alone born-again Christianity. It did the same thing that “Body” does with the moaning yet it also covers it in this really eerie sample, as well as spare 808s and a drum beat that doesn’t feel like it gets in the way of whatever the hell Kanye’s doing on this track. It also helps that the moaning doesn’t just come in on the chorus, instead we have a string swell to distinguish it, and that Kanye has more of a comical lyrical nature on “XTCY”. This comparison is only fair when looking at the production, though, as whilst Kanye has “sick thoughts”, Megan is just bragging about her own body-ody-ody-ody-ody, etc. over a pretty mainstream, accessible beat, even if it has really ugly, loud 808s that kind of do get in the way of the rapping here. Thankfully, Megan rides this beat forcefully – no pun intended – and with some really great wordplay, even if there are a few immediately dated references here and there. That third verse is also pretty funny, and whilst I don’t want to focus too much on this song – it’s a family show after all – this is pretty lively and whilst I’m not a fan of this beat, Megan makes it worth sitting through and honestly, the song sounds a lot shorter than it is. Check it out.

#67 – “Love is a Compass” – Griff

I didn’t say the word “compass” on purpose knowing this song would be next, although perhaps I subconsciously snuck the word in. Maybe I should have made it seem like I foreshadowed this song, but honestly what about this warrants foreshadowing? I don’t mind Disney music at all. In fact, a lot of the films are full of really classic compositions that have aged incredibly, including the Renaissance era of their films, especially. In fact, “I’ll Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan – the original – is one of the few soundtrack songs that is directly related to and featured in the film yet I can still listen to outside of that context. I’ve not even watched either Mulan – or have Disney+ - so it’s not like I’m a big fan, but I can appreciate the music when I find it, even if I mostly despise everything Disney stands for as a company. The issue with this is that it cannot apply to “Love is a Compass”. I’m sure Griff and her producer PARKWILD are talented musicians, but this is purely a product. This wasn’t even made for an original animated feature, or a painfully weak adaptation of one of their original animated features starring Will Smith as the Genie. This is a generic piano ballad made for an advert, because just like literal shops and manufacturing companies like John Lewis, Disney has a Christmas advert. There’s nothing artistic about this. This “emotional” piano ballad is layered in reverb and egregious Auto-Tune that drains Griff of whatever emotion her delivery could have had. It doesn’t sound good in this context at all and it is so obvious, which is unfortunate because her voice, Auto-Tuned in a similar way, could easily work over more lo-fi and interesting production. As it is, this is repulsive, sonically and on every other level beyond that.

#66 – “Angels Like You” – Miley Cyrus

So, Miley Cyrus dropped her album, Plastic Hearts, last week and I expected more impact on the chart but the two singles are really THAT big that not any of the album cuts had much of a chance, even if “Prisoner” dropped a few spaces. Other than that, “Midnight Sky” is still in the top five and near the end of the chart, we have a debut: “Angels Like You”. It’s clear why this charted because this isn’t just a highlight from the album or a personal favourite of mine, but it’s a fan favourite honestly, a career highlight �� which may not be hard to make, I mean, it’s Miley Cyrus we’re talking about – but it still impresses me with how much I really love this song. This is more of a mellow ballad than many of the tracks surrounding it on the record, with Cyrus’ raspy country twang finally met with a fitting blend of acoustic guitars and a genuine orchestral swell in the chorus, even if at times it decides to start clipping. The shift in guitar tone to a dirtier, aggressive one after the first chorus is a genius touch, and even the pretty stiff drum machine here feels like it adds a lot to the power of this song, especially when it starts kicking behind the screeching guitar solo, leading into an admittedly anti-climactic final chorus... that might even be fitting for the content, which is a break-up song but not one that decides to deflect blame or even focus entirely on the break-up, rather being an acknowledgement of what both parties here did wrong, and why they ended up in the relationship to begin with. Both Cyrus and her ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter were in rough spots coming off of previous relationships in late 2019 and those dark spots are what Cyrus understands lead to the collapse of this relationship. She discusses the lack of connection between the two in the first verse, leading to a literally nameless relationship where it was full of romantic gestures but not any depth. The chorus is a complex look at how Cyrus knew she would look back on the relationship as little more than a fling, but how she regrets that this is her only view of the relationship. She didn’t want anything more and split after things started getting too serious, and feels genuine guilt for using Carter to heal her own depression, because “misery needs company”. She uses the biblical metaphor to demonstrate how she feels she tugged down her girlfriend, described here as an “angel”, to the hell Cyrus thinks she resides in, which may be melodramatic, sure, but I’d be lying if I said Cyrus doesn’t completely sell it here, with some of her best vocals to date, backed up by gorgeous production and really well-written lyrics. This is a genuinely brilliant ballad, give it a listen.

#58 – “Naughty List” – Liam Payne and Dixie D’Amelio

I’ve been writing these producers as “TM5” for so long without realising it’s an abbreviation for “The Music Shed”. Anyway, I hope we can all agree that Liam Payne is probably the worst off when comparing the One Direction boys and their solo careers so far. Harry Styles is one of the biggest stars in the world, making a twist on 70s classic rock that I don’t like at all but he IS making headlines and having massive chart success. Niall Horan is having mild success making rock and folk albums that are honestly alright, ZAYN has two albums under his belt that may not be listenable but at least the first one was a success and he did go into a more mature R&B direction, and Louis Tomlinson might not have been met with any success from his album earlier this year but at least there’s some quality there. Liam Payne, however, has been releasing straight garbage to no fanfare for the past three years, dating back to “Strip that Down” with Quavo, and continuing down the path of feigning maturity and development with music clearly not backing it up, demonstrated by the bisexual fetishism on his delayed debut album and how his collaborations went from relying on Zedd to relying on J Balvin to relying on TikTok stars on a sexually-charged Christmas single that couldn’t even crack the top 50. I have no idea who Dixie D’Amelio is other than seeing her sister’s controversies on Twitter in passing, but it is depressing that a major-label pop star needs D’Amelio to chart this high – and no, given his most recent singles with bigger features like A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Cheat Codes, as well as the shoddy performance of his last Christmas song, I’m not even considering that it’s the other way around. This immediately, in its first 15 seconds, makes sure you know this will be awful, with its tedious acoustic guitar strumming fused with cheap sounding sleigh bells and dated trap percussion, even with little “hey!” gang vocals straight out of 2014 that make this sound a lot less new and fresh than I think Payne thought it did. Also, something about these lyrics sounds really odd when you consider the age gap between the two vocalists. I mean, D’Amelio’s 19 years old, so it’s not like this is illegal in any way (and they didn’t have any chemistry to begin with), but the childlike imagery in the chorus just makes this gross. “Santa saw the things we did and put us on the naughty list”? This has less subtlety than 3OH!3’s Christmas song they released this year. Yes, that happened, and somehow the two washed-up early 2010s pop stars made a “dirty” Christmas song that is miles better than Liam Payne’s, probably because of the more interesting lyrical detail, and that, you know, it isn’t a duet. Check out “KISSELTOE” if you’re interested, it’s really good. I liked their comeback single with 100 gecs too so I’m pretty excited for whatever comes out of 3OH!3’s recent productivity. This song, on the other hand, as well as the upcoming joke, is just Payne-full.

#53 – “No Time for Tears” – Nathan Dawe and Little Mix

Okay, so, I understand the marketing of releasing a single after a long time of not releasing a single and after your singles have all dropped out of the chart, but Little Mix are just being managed horribly here. Why would you release a single in the Christmas season that you want to be big? This isn’t a holiday song in any way and doesn’t even sound like one, so releasing it this early into the Christmas season is just begging for it to be forgotten and eventually flop. Nathan Dawe is an EDM DJ so he doesn’t need this type of promotion as long as he can tour next year and he’s got big features, and Little Mix don’t need any extra singles because they’re still in the top 10 and they’ve branched out to reality television. Just let the girls breathe for a second and enjoy their success. Oh, and this song isn’t just logistically unnecessary, it’s sonically unnecessary, acting as a house-pop club banger with that standard piano sound reminiscent of 90s house that has been adopted recently by DJs, with any of the infectious melodies and genuine drive sucked out of it, especially if Dawe is going to add a Goddamn trap breakdown in the second verse with the most pathetic set of percussion I’ve heard in years on a house track. It’s not like Little Mix are saving this either because the lyrical content is re-tread and their performances are largely unrecognisable from each other and songs they’ve made before. Yeah, this isn’t offensive, but it isn’t interesting, outside of that bridge, but even then it builds up perfectly to a chorus that’s interrupted by a pointless, repetitious interlude. This song isn’t just uninteresting, it’s inherently unnecessary on all fronts, which if anything, is just kind of sad.

#35 – “All You’re Dreaming Of” – Liam Gallagher

Surely out of all of these songs, I’d have the most to say about our top 40 debut, with Liam Gallagher, former frontman of legendary rock band Oasis,  and his new lead single, right? Well, no, because here are some unfortunate truths: Oasis made two good albums, and they’re not as good as you remember. Liam Gallagher is an awful person who continued to rip off his own band with his new one, without the songwriting ability his brother Noel had. Liam continues to be persistent in his making of enemies for no other reason than publicity. Noel’s reaching out to Liam for the sake of at least reconciliation goes completely unnoticed, ignored or criticised by Liam for no discernable reason other than an on-and-off again facade that’s been going on for more than a decade. Noel wasn’t even that great of a songwriter, relying mostly on musicianship and other people’s melodies he liked to co-opt for his own tracks. None of their solo work has been listenable yet still gathers attention that I imagine is to the dismay of those other band members in Oasis who, ultimately, made those classic albums as much as the Gallaghers. Where’s the praise for Bonehead, Guigsy or even Gem Archer, who stuck it out despite decreasing popularity, utter lack of musical quality and increasing tensions between the people who kept the band afloat until they decided to break up? Both Noel and Liam look at Oasis with regret or admiration depending on how they feel that day but when you look at who REALLY won that Britpop battle tabloids liked to hype up in the 1990s, you realise how far away Oasis was from Blur or even Pulp in terms of not only their songs but having their stuff together. This new song is complete garbage as well, with a pretty awful mixing job, Liam being as distinctively nasal and infuriating as he is with any of his songs let alone his uninteresting ballads, and the COVID-19 charity pandering that comes off as really false, especially since even after Noel released an Oasis track this year as a result of the lockdown – and Liam whining about how he wants to bring the band together to help the NHS – he criticised the honest release of the demo, which Noel wrote and sang himself. It’s also especially telling how the proceeds are only going to benefit charity for its first month of release. Afterwards, Liam and the label can scrape up whatever leftover streams they get from diehard fans. I don’t like Band Aid at all, in fact the song is pretty damn rancid, but at least they keep on recording updated versions to give to modern charities. Liam, you’ve got a bank account the average Manchurian would dream of. This charity single is a fraud, and a pretty hypocritical, immoral one at that.

Conclusion

I think on principle on how fake it is and how awful the song is, I have to give Worst of the Week to Gallagher... but I have a rule against crowning any kind of charity single with that title. At the end of the day, at least something at some point is going to the people who need it. Worst of the Week in that case goes to “Naughty List” by Liam Payne and Dixie D’Amelio, with a Dishonourable Mention to the product that is Griff’s “Love is a Compass”. Best of the Week should be obvious as it’s going to Miley Cyrus for “Angels Like You”, with an Honourable Mention to Megan Thee Stallion’s “Body”. Here’s this week’s top 10:

A = Activity (What they’re favourite activity is to do with you)

Arthur loves to take you horse riding. He’s a simple man that enjoys the little things in life, so if he can have you on the back of his horse, arms tucked around his waist and chest pressed up against his back, then he’s one happy man. More than that though, he loves reaching the destination. He will sit in a field with you all afternoon, sketching in his journal while you explore the surrounds.

B = Beginnings (How they act at the beginning of the relationship)

After years of being torn down, Arthur is an insecure man. You were probably the one to instigate the relationship in the first place, with Arthur thinking he wasn’t good enough for a person like you. But once Arthur realises that you genuinely have feelings for him, he spends more and more time with you. He still gives you plenty of space but quickly learns that you’d rather have him by your side.

C = Communication (How do they communication with your S/O?)

We all know Arthur is a man of few words and even though he slowly opened up to you throughout the course of your relationship, he still doesn’t know how to formulate the words to express exactly how he’s feeling. Instead, Arthur displays his emotions through actions. If he’s feeling a lot of love for you, he’ll help you with chores and hold you tightly at night. However, if he’s a little frustrated with the way things are going, he tends to distance himself.

D = Drunk (What they’re like when they’re drunk)

LEnNy? Okay, so we all know what this guy is like when he’s drunk. Although, being drunk around you puts Arthur in the mood… Big time

E = Emergency (How are they in emergency situations?)

Arthur is a smart guy. He’s been in enough terrible situations to know how to keep a level head. If your safety is at stake, or you’ve been hurt, he’s going to take every precaution not to put you in further danger. He strategizes and executes his plan. At the end of the day he wants to keep you safe and pain free. However, if you are in pain, he’s not going to leave to your side. If someone needs his help, he’s busy taking care of you. Charles wants him to go hunting? Not today, he’s taking care of you.

F = Free spot (Any canon I come up with)

Arthur is the king of oral. The way he smirks when he sees you squirming above him really gets him going. And his hands? Arthur has giant hands that are perfect to hold your hips down so his tongue can have full access.

G = Gifts (What kind of gifts do they give? What kind of gifts do they receive?)

Arthur reads people well, so they kind of gift he gives changes depending on who he’s giving it to. But Arthur loves to give you gifts. He replaced an old pen you lost with a shiny new one, he bought you a new blouse in town so you could wear it out on a date with him, hell, he even brought you back a puppy do you wouldn’t be so lonely when he wasn’t in camp. As for receiving gifts? Arthur doesn’t expect a thing. He’s always been a giver, not a taker, so something as simple as cleaning his gun for him is a real treat for this man.

H = Hugs (How they show affection/cuddle?)

ARTHUR RADIATES HEAT. It’s the truth. He is a human fireplace and that is why he is the best person to cuddle. In Winter of course Arthur knows this. He’ll lull you over to him and pull you body back against his. This man LOVES being the big spoon, kissing the top of your head and pulling the blanket around your body.

I = Irritation (What is something that irritates them? How do they show their irritation?)

It’s the little things that tend to annoy Arthur, like if someone disrespects the women in the camp, he can’t help but say something to them about it. He doesn’t aim is frustration towards you though, whoever bothered him is going to know about it and that’s all there is to it.

J = Jackpot (If they come into a large sum of money, how do they spend it?)

Arthur Morgan, the kindest human being on the Earth is going to make sure that everyone he loves is provided for. He’d give Abagail a sum of money to help out with Jack, he’d donate some to the camp funds and he’d help out people along the way.

K = Kryptonite (What is their ultimate weakness?)

If you bring Arthur a cup of coffee in the evenings and have a cuddle with him around the fire, then you’ve got the man wrapped around your finger and he will do anything, like ANYTHING for you.

L = Laughter (What makes them laugh?)

Arthur chuckles at just about anything, but he was in stitches the day he tried to teach you how to ride a horse properly. You just couldn’t get the hang of it, and he’d honestly never seen someone so bad at it in life. So while he helped you, he laughed, which only made the situation lighter and put you more at ease. You remember him clearly saying, “If you rode this horse as well as you ride me, you’d be a champion.”

M = Morning (How do they wake up in the morning?)

Arthur is an up-an-at-em kind of guy. Generally, he’s awake before you are. So, when he slides his body out past yours, he places a soft kiss to your temple and tucks you back in.

N = Needy (When do they feel particularly needy? Do they show it?)

Arthur Morgan is the opposite of a needy guy. He’s spent his entire life worrying about the livelihoods of others, so when it comes to his needs in the relationship, he always pushes them aside in order to fulfil what you need first. However, if he’s had a long day and you’re able to coax what he needs out him, then he’s more than willing to let you help.

O = Oasis (What is their happy place? Where would they go if they didn’t have anything holding them back?)

Arthur loves being out in the West. He’s at his happiest when the he’s sitting on a rock, watching as the sun burns away the stars of night and takes it rightful place in the sky. He loves how the early mornings have a refreshing chill in the air, but he loves it more when you can join him. 

P = Pain (How do they handle pain? How do they handle you being in pain?)

Arthur has never been one to shy down to a fight. Over the years he’s learned how to handle the pain inflicted to him by others. A punch? Hardly feels it. Slashed by a knife? It’ll heal. But your pain is a completely different story. Arthur’s sole concern if you and if he can help take the pain away then he will.

Q = Quote (What’s a quote that fits them and your relationship?)

“Never chase love, affection or attention. If it isn’t given freely by another person, it isn’t worth having.”

R = Reunion (How do they celebrate seeing you after a long time of being apart?)

Arthur is an observer. When he rides in on his horse, he’ll silently watch you for a moment, waiting for you to spot him. When you finally lay eyes on him, he can’t take the grin from his lips. Arthur envelops you in a giant bear hug, crushing your body against his. He’ll share a tender kiss with you before slinging his arm over your shoulders and walking back to your tent with you. He wants to hear everything you have to say about what’s been happening in your life as he lays you down and puts his lips all over you.

S = Stress (What stresses them out? How do they deal with stress and how do they relieve it?)

Not much and everything seems to stress poor Arthur out. He’s dealt with so much in his life that he copes well with stress. However, he does get a little agitated when a plan’s gone wrong, but it’s nothing that taking a ride out to the woods and sketching the beauty around him can’t fix. He also likes to listen to what you have to say, finding that listening to your perspective gives him space to breath.

T = Terror (What are they afraid of?)

The only thing Arthur is afraid of is losing you. He doesn’t think his heart could take being broken again. You keep him sane, a man of higher honour than he’s used to being. He’s sure he’d end up like Swanson if he were to lose you.

U = Unique (What is a quirk that is unique to them?)

Arthur is a complete gentleman, and while this isn’t a completely unique trait, he’s one of very few men around camp that has complete respect for the women around him. He’s happy to hold anyone’s hand to help them from a platform or carry their things so that they don’t have too.

V = Violence (Do they fight a lot? Are they a good fighter? What is their fighting style?)

Arthur has been fighting all his life. The guy knows how to throw punch, block a punch and take a punch. He’s one of the better fighters around camp, although he’s not a fast as a he used to be. But, you don’t have to be fast when you’ve got his strength.

W = Wow (What do you do that really surprises them?)

Arthur will never forget the night that you set up camp, just for the two you in, in a secluded spot by the river. He’s always amazed when you give yourself to him, but you see you in all your glory while the stars twinkled above you? Oh, and the light droplets of rain that dampened your skin and matted your hair as you made love? That was an incredible evening.

Arthur loves it when he’s get to relax and you take the reins. He’s happy to lean back against the wall and look up at you while you slowly ride him. His hands grip your waist perfectly, and he swears he’d got a goddess on top of him.

A/N: A short drabble based on an idea I had - There’s a little bit of smut

“Keep going, Arthur,” you moan, clutching the blanket beneath you. You hadn’t been on a date with Arthur in months, so he decided to take you to a quirky little show in Saint Denis. The lack of light in the theatre made the show more interesting than it should have been, and the ride back to camp, where Arthur now held your body against his as he slid hard into your heat, very touchy.

“Jesus, darlin’,” he groans between placing a hot kiss to the side of your neck. His hand runs up your thigh, resting it over his shoulder as he slides his cock deeper into you. “I think he’s happy watching, Arthur,” you tease, sitting up to rest wrap your arms around Arthur’s shoulders.

“Come on, boy. Please?” Arthur pleads, only for Cotton to lose interest and scurry off. “Thank God,” he mumbles, pushing you back down onto the bed. His hands grip your hips as he slides back into you, a relieved groan leaving his lips. His mouth presses desperately to yours. Your fingers slide over the muscled skin of his chest, pausing when you hear a clunking coming towards you.

“What the—” You start, glancing to the end of the cot where Cotton sits with a stick in his mouth. Arthur groans, resting his head on your stomach as he pulls out of you once again.

“Darn dog,” he mutters, standing up and covering his cock with his shirt. He kneels, patting Cotton as he whimpers for his attention. “You got the worst timing,” he scowls, pulling the dog in for a cuddle.

You can’t help the smile that presses to your lips at Arthur’s inability to corrupt his dog. You watch from your spot on the cot as Arthur tugs his jeans on from their place on the ground. “I’ll go play with him,” he grumbles, leaning down to place a kiss on your cheek, “You play with yourself.”

Javier likes to take you fishing late in the afternoon and not return to camp until almost everyone is in bed. He loves the horse ride there with you, mainly because of how you hold on so tight to him. He encourages you to fish with him, and when you do, he can’t wipe the smile off his face when you catch something but are too scared to get it off the hook. Otherwise, he enjoys the hours of chatter or comfortable silence that falls between you. Fishing is easy. And it gives you the chance to catch up and sometimes have a sneaky make-out session in the woods.

Javier is a hopeless romantic, so at the start of your relationship he provides you with constant and undying affection. He quickly learns that it’s the little things in a relationship that make it work. So, he helps you with your chores around camp, brings you a bowl of stew for lunch, or brings a cup of coffee to your tent in the evening. This man wants to impress you, so that is exactly what he does.

Even though Javier’s native tongue is Spanish, he loves to talk out his issues with you as best he can. Naturally, Javier has a calm nature and this shines through when he’s telling you about the rough day he’s had. He’s the type of man that needs to talk about what’s happened in his day, but he also loves to hold you while he listens to what perspective you have on any issues.

D = Drunk (What they’re like when they’re drunk)

Javier is a laid back, lazy kind of drunk. He doesn’t get loud and rowdy like some of the other men in camp, but instead relaxes and badly strums his guitar.

E = Emergency (How are the in emergency situations?)

What was said earlier about Javier having a calm nature? That is completely wiped off the table if you’ve been hurt. An instant anger washes over and he’s rapid firing questions at you, like how did it happen and when. He also tends to speak a lot of Spanish in this situation, which doesn’t help if you don’t speak the language. However, in situation where someone has passed, he grieves. In this situation, he likes to be with you, always touching you, just to remember that you’re still here.

F = Free spot (Any canon I come up with)

Javier is a serial flirt. This man is so smooth that other people around camp often times find it embarrassing. But you love his corny lines.

G = Gifts (What kind of gifts do they give? What kind of gifts do they get?)

While Javier knows that a lady can be quite fond of a pearl necklace or a golden ring, he prefers to give gifts that have more than a materialistic value. For you birthday, he gets a woollen poncho made up for you, because he knows how much you love his.

H = Hugs (How do they show affection/cuddle?)

This man LOVES to cuddle. Anytime he can have your body pressed up against his, he will. When he rides back into camp at night, and before he’s even off his horse, he has scoped you out, ready to snake his arms around your waist and places a cheeky kiss to your neck. Javier also loves to cuddle in the way of sleeping. He’s always got an arm, or a leg slung over your body—Not that you’d complain.

Nothing bothers Javier more then when someone disrespects his culture or where he comes from. He understands that he’s not an All-American, but he’s also smart enough to be bi-lingual. The man has a complex past and he wants people to respect that.

Let’s be honest, this guy is probably going to buy a new guitar, get a new poncho made up for himself and then think about paying off his bounties so he can return home.

Your smile sends Javier weak to his knees, and it was probably one of the first things that he found so mesmerising about you. If you want Javier to do something for you, all you have to do is smile up at him, place a loving hand on his chest and that man melts in your hands.

While Javi loves the effort, if Spanish isn’t your native language, your attempts to speak and pronunciation of the words have him laughing (but in a way where he thinks it’s sweet). One morning when you wake up and whisper “Buenos Noches”, he can’t help the chuckle that escapes his lips. “Buenos Dias, Mi Amor,” he corrects you, but you’d already fallen back to sleep.

Sometimes it takes Javi a minute to wake up, but he’s usually awake before you are. In the mornings, Javi is a very affectionate guy though. He’s kissing you neck and running his fingers up your side just as your eyes flutter open.

While Jaiver is an affectionate guy and loves to be around you, he’s not as needy as other people in the camp might think. This guy had been on his own for a while and travelled through a country where he couldn’t speak a lick of the language. He’s used to isolation. However, he sometimes gets needy at night, wanting nothing more than you have you cuddled in close to him as you sit around the fire.

So yes, while the gang are now Javier’s family, if this guy could, he would go home and take you with him. He’d love to show to beautiful landscapes of Mexico, knowing how much you’d appreciate it.

Javier has an extraordinarily high pain tolerance. This man has been in his fair share of fights, particularly knife fights and knows how to take a hit. But when you’re in pain, this is a whole other story. Javier is attentive to your pain, like it’s a thousand times worse than anything he’s ever felt. He tends to hover over you, making sure he provides you with anything you need.

The second Javi lays eyes on you after being separated for longer than a week, he’s off his horse and spinning you around in his arms before you’ve even registered what’s happening. This man loves you and a reunion shows it. He always brings you back little gifts that he’s found along the way, whether it be a small piece of gold he went panning for, or the feather from a beautiful bird. A reunion also means hot, loving, passionate sex with his body hovering over yours and his lips pressing to every part of your body. And we all know Javi is the king of that.

S = Stress (What stresses them out? How do they deal with stress and how do they relieve it?) Micah stresses Javi out. Anything that could put you in danger stress him out. Not knowing where his guitar is stresses the poor man out. But Javi deals with stress well. If something’s bothering him, he talks to you about it. If you’re not around, he plays a skilful game of five finger fillet and laughs when the other men cut their fingers and he walks away unscathed. I can also think of another, very fun way, that Jaiver relieves stress…

T = Terror (What are they afraid of?) Javier is afraid of losing the people he loves, in particular you. You’re his rock. You keep him stable and you made his transition to camp easier than it should have been. Now that you’re apart of his life, he wouldn’t know how he would live it without you.

Javier is quicker witted than most other people in camp. He can insult someone before they’ve even finished what they were saying to him.

V = Violence (Do they fight a lot? Are they a good fighter? What is their fighting style?)

Javier isn’t someone to fight by nature. However, that doesn’t mean the man isn’t a skilful fighter. When he fights, he’s swift, always one step ahead of his opponent. This is evident in a knife fight. He had to fight plenty of people when fleeing his country, so he knows how.

W = Wow (What do you do that really surprises them?)

Javier will never forget the evening you surprised him with a bath and a room in town for the night. You two spend hours in the bath, even as the water went cold. He couldn’t think of anything better than having you pressed back against his chest, just talking about life. But when you went up to the room, that was the best surprise he’s had in a long time.
