“Baby, you’re crushing me.”

“Mm.”

You shift slightly and his head digs deeper into your neck, breathing slowly. You pat his back for a minute, scratching lightly, and then let go.

“No, put them back,” he whines, wrapping your arms back around him.

You sigh and hold him again.

“Long day?”

He nods, lips brushing against your skin.

“Wanna swap hoodies?”

He nods again.

“That requires getting up, luna.”

“Well,” he huffs, “no hoodies, then.”

“What if I start to sweat?”

He turns his head and switches to the other side of your neck, “It’s nothing we haven’t done before.”

Your hands switch to his hair, “What if I start to stink?”

He takes a long whiff of your skin and hums like you’re a sweet treat, “I’ll drown in it.”

“What if I have to pee?”

“I can join you.”

You wrack your brain, “What if I need to eat?”

He perks his head up.

“What do you want to eat? Where do you want to go?”

You purse your lips, “I don’t know. What do you want to eat?”

He rolls his eyes and lays his head back in your neck.

“I guess we aren’t going until you figure it out.”

You make a stunted sound, flopping further into the bed as Miguel makes himself more comfortable.

“We’re going to be here forever.”

He smiles, “I know.”

He was running out of time. He had merely a few days left before Tarn would make his next appearance for his payment. So far, Pharma had been on top of things. But this time around he was falling short, and he knew that wasn't going to slide. It would put the whole clinic at risk. But spare T-Cogs don't just fall from the sky— it had to come from somewhere. Patients just weren't dying fast enough. Waiting until his employees had retired for the night, he decided to make his move.

He knew exactly which room he was going to. A patient who was already circling the drain. Keeping him stabilized was a feat in itself, and by no means comfortable. He enters the room quietly, watching as the poor mech glances up to him weakly. "Hello, Sidewire. I'm just doing some final check-ins before I turn in for the night."

Despite the unusual circumstances, Sidewire seemed relatively unbothered. Why should he be? Pharma has, up until this point, done everything to keep him alive. "What's that, doc?" Sidewire glances at a syringe that the medijet is preparing.

Am I really about to do this? It's a mercy at this point, the poor thing. But this is far more than stealing from a corpse. Sidewire could still make it, and I'm going to remove that possibility as a whole...

"Just a little pain medication to try and help you through the night. Just relax." The injection is placed into the IV drip, slowly. It was a relaxant— one used before surgeries. It helps to slow everything down, evening slowing the flow of energon to regulate how much is lost when incisions happen. For a patient about to undergo a procedure, that's not such a big deal. But for a patient already struggling, it could easily be lethal.

It's this or Ambulon. This or First Aid. This or the hundreds of patients who are absolutely on the road to recovery.

Within minutes, every movement from Sidewire was heavy and labored, even trying to keep his optics open seemed a hassle. "....Doc... I'm–... I'm really tired... I can't move..."

"I know." Pharma sighed, moving to sit down beside the other on the medberth. "It's alright, just relax, it's ok." Gingerly he reaches his servo out to hold onto the patient's. Just as he had done time and time again for end of life situations.

"....I can't... stay awake..." Each word feels forced out. "Can I go to sleep now, Doc?"

"Yes." Pharma continues to gently rub his digits over the other's servo. "You may sleep now, it's alright." His jaw tenses, everything in his being going into preventing himself from breaking down right then and there. If he is going to do this, he doesn't want Sidewire scared as he goes.

He watches the patient go to sleep, and waits for the tell-tale sign of the spark monitor fizzling out. It's only when he's certain the mech passed that he finally let's himself sob, helm in hands.

He doesn't know how many more times he will have to do this.

He reads the label. Tracks the timing. Keeps a calendar. And never once makes you feel like a burden for needing it.

short hurt/comfort drabble.

It was supposed to be a fine, normal day. Ate the food you liked, went outside and socialized, travelled a bit, went sightseeing.

That is, until you started worrying.

Everyone told you that everything you put online stays online forever, even after you die, so you started worrying about the what-ifs...

And here you are, hunched over the toilet, the remnants of your dinner floating in the water, your throat burning, and your stomach still feeling queasy. Of course, there was an upside to this.

"I've got some pills and water right here, darling. Just tell me when you're ready to take some." Monoma whispered to you, pills placed on the bathroom counter as he knelt down right next to you with worry etched onto his features.

Your boyfriend was patting your lower back, making sure you felt alright during the entire ten-minute fiasco. Despite his actions against your friends, he sincerely loved you and it showed.

"Thanks, love... urk-!"

"Let it all out. I'm sure you'll feel better afterwards, okay?"

You hurled again, the burn in your throat only getting worse after it was accompanied by a light splash in the toilet. The queasiness in your stomach felt much better, though.

"Love, c-can you get me some of... the throat-soothing tea? I'm gonna need it."

"Of course. Only after you drink some water, at least."

You leaned into his touch, letting him wipe away the bile on your lips, far too exhausted to protest against it and do it yourself.

"Thanks... I really appreciate that. And I love you so, so much."

"I love you too, my darling. Now, time for your anti-nausea meds."

"Still sucks that they taste so weird."

You rinsed your mouth with a cup of water, spitting it into the toilet that you promptly flushed before taking your two pills with some water. The bitter taste was strong, but it soothed your stomach entirely.

"Maybe I'll just stay home tomorrow and stay glued to you..." You groaned, missing the wobbly smile on Monoma's face at that tought as he helped you walk to bed.

"That sounds really nice. I'll make you a light soup tomorrow just in case you still feel dizzy and can't handle solids just yet."

"I don't know what I did to deserve you, Mon-Bon."

"I don't know, either!"

You both had a small laugh about that.

Tomorrow couldn't come quickly enough.
