it has been a few days since your ex boyfriend broke up with you. to say the least you haven't been taken care of yourself that much which made your friendgroup really worried about you. thats why karina is now forcing you to go to a party with her.

you immediately covered your ears due to the loud music but adjusted to it a few minutes later.

while you were walking further into the house, you decided to settle in a corner to avoid having conversations when all of a sudden you heard a deep voice behind you.

"do i know you?" you slowly turned around to see a welcoming smile greeting you.

"no, have we met before?"

"im not sure, but you look really familiar i think i saw you on yeji's story before. my name is mark." his voice had a hint of excitement to it which made you smile. you introduced yourself and slowly you guys started a conversation.

from a distance you could see your friends looking at you and giggling because they were hoping you would distract yourself from your ex boyfriend but the mere thought of him made your blood boil again.

Author's Note: I'm just a girl who loves a good country song, so please don't mind me, lol. I fell in love with this song and wanted to write something for Eunwoo and black readers. So this was made.

It's 2:30 pm in TX and I haven't been to sleep since 7pm last night, so this story was fueled by my lack of sleep. There might be some Grammar errors since I haven't really proofread it.

“Momma, who was your first love?” your daughter asks you one day as she flips through your album book of photos of you and your friends.

It felt so long ago that you were eighteen and in love. You curled to your daughter's side in your bed. “It was a boy named, Eunwoo.” you stroke her hair. “Being in love with that boy felt like I was dancing on my tippy toes on top of the world.”

You remember everything about Eunwoo that night. His smile. His laugher. The way he held on to you like he was afraid of losing you.

“Oooooh, so you were in love, love?” your daughter giggles.

“So in love, we thought forever would be forever.”

It's bittersweet, almost thinking of Eunwoo. You and him hanging out on the gate of his truck with the conversations that would lead to a comfortable silence. Being eighteen then felt like the bravest you and Eunwoo were.

“Like you're married to Dad now, but do you sometimes miss this Eunwoo guy?”

“I do sometimes.”

being the son to the incredibly gifted baseball player seungho young is exactly what you imagine it would be – the sport becomes part of your world. running around training facilities , family day out on the field , random pictures with your dad's old teammates , several signed memorabilia of all stars on display on some dusty mantle in your childhood home.

two years into his career , the youngs welcomed their first born child beau. as first time parents in the middle of baseball season , it was definitely a challenge. luckily for the youngs , they had their families pour in their support and was with the two while seungho was away traveling with the team. it was all hands on deck , and as much as charlotte young wanted her husband to be there to be witness to beau's milestones – what could she do ? getting in the way of seungho's dream was out of the question. so she gave beau as much stability as possible through his grandparents and extended family.

even with his dad getting traded to boston two years before he chose to retire , it wasn't just the three of them anymore. beau got introduced to his younger sister on a snowy night , christmas lights glittered outside of the hospital room. it was like coming home to a tree that had presents stacked underneath. pure joy and giddiness filled the room. the tears that both seungho and charlotte spilled once he held his daughter in his arms. it was a moment that he got to have with his new daughter that he didn't get to have with beau. beau looked on to the scene , holding his mom's hand a bit tighter than usual. maybe it was because he missed her , maybe it was excitement. but who would have thought that this was going to be a defining moment in both beau and seungho's lives ?

as time went on , beau excelled in baseball. starting out with t - ball and progressed through all of the youth leagues while playing for school's baseball team as well. it was his life and something that allowed him to spend time with his dad. which , sadly enough , it was the only times that he was able to spend with his dad. life after retirement from the league was a much smoother transition than seungho imagined it'd be. he first tried a hand at being a real estate agent , trying to be home as much as possible , to be a father and husband. although those efforts were mainly felt by his daughter and charlotte. beau would be left to his academics and after school activities. growing up , there'd always be an undeniable feeling that something was missing. he'd never to fully put his finger on what it was but all he knew was that it'd go away when he was able to spend uninterrupted time with his dad ... which was always baseball related.

once beau had finally decided to go to college and be serious about a career in baseball , it was almost like a flip had switched in his dad. all eyes were on him. while it felt a bit overwhelming , he accepted it easily. making sure he kept up with his studies in college and kept up with his training. was it a pain in the ass to have his dad hover over him especially after a bad game ? sure , but beau figured it was all in effort for him to succeed. this had to be the most that the two have spoken , let alone show this much interest in beau's career.

being one of the top rookie prospects in his draft class , his career in the major leagues followed the typical path: start out in the rookie team then play for the minors and wait your turn to make your official debut to the major league. after being drafted by the new york mets in 2018 , he played in the team's minor league affiliates until he was traded to the los angeles dodgers in 2019. after playing for a few months on their minor league team, he made his major league debut in the middle of the season. although , years after playing for that team , by the end of his fourth season in the league ... beau gets traded to the new york yankees after an altercation with one of his teammates. was it his fault ? absolutely not. he actually just defending himself , he's not the type to let frustrations fester into something like a fight. but who was the one that got shipped out to the east coast ? him 😔 just caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ant is the strong and silent type. The type of person who lets you chat his ear off, but then you realize you know nothing about him after the conversation is finished. BACKGROUND / BIO

Anthony was born the youngest by a few minutes to his twin sister (something she always holds against him). Born to Korean parents who settled in Merrock not too long before their births, originally from Seoul, he lived your stereotypical small-town life. His parents worked a bit too hard, but he could never blame them, wanting to provide for them in the only way they knew how, but still attempting to be for them whenever they could for their emotional needs. He found himself closer to his father's extended family, who also resided in Merrock.

He struggled to find his place in school growing up, his sister being easily popular, a stellar athlete, everything Ant was not. He preferred spending his time in the science lab, or the library, pouring over academics instead of face-to-face time with his peers, finding it easy to slip under the radar if he became accomplished in his academic pursuits. It paid off, and he went off to college a few states over, his sister chose a different college, and they went off their separate ways.

He found himself interested in Psychology, the nature of others' emotions and feelings something he found logical, solid reasoning. It'd been his passion, easy to focus on that while away, instead of the distance he'd been away from his hometown. He found a small group of people he called friends, finding his footing, but all too soon returning to his hometown after graduating, navigating where he fit in after all those years.

He worked at a private practice as a therapist before returning to his Alma Mater as a Guidance Counselor, a position he was happy to take on if it meant he got to help students who'd been lost like himself not too far back. Although he's still a bit too stoic, and too serious at times, he's trying to slowly branch out and become a better version of himself, someone who allows people into his inner circle, and who isn't shy to go out of his comfort zone.

cha eunwoo speaking in ITALIAN (!!!) w that amazing accent and perfect pronunciation??? sir i'm soooo impressed, as a native speaker i admit that italian is one hell of a hard language to learn and so many words can have weird inflection and pronunciation from a non speakers' pov. the fact that he was able to nail it probably w just few classes is so admirable, i'm a fan !! and he had many, long lines to say, it wasn't even a "couple of words and done" type of thing.

჻ They met by chance on a small forum whose members were trainees and emerging idols of the time.

჻ They first started talking to each other in the forum's private chat and then exchanged numbers

჻ Jinwoo Yoon, even with an already well-established career, was not easy to track down

჻ Back then, Big Hit was looking to hire new people to fill the roles of choreographers and she was desperate for him to apply for the job

჻ So, with all the scandal that such exposure could create if he didn't keep their interactions confidential, she decided to personally text him to congratulate and make him aware of the job position in her company

჻ Jinwoo Yoon certainly didn't ask for it twice

჻ At the casting, she, Hobi and Namjoon were also present (as almost every time their team had to expand and the dance department was involved. Namjoon, instead, was there as leader of course)

But the fact that they were live and everyone could see her actions could, surely, lead to speculation about favouritism on their part for the neo-group. Add to that the fact that local newspapers would have taken the opportunity to add the words 'Chaeri' and 'Love at first sight' to the headlines of their articles.

჻ Precisely to alleviate all this, Jimin ran after her in order to make it seem as if the idea of approaching the boys came from both of them

჻ All ATEEZ members bowed gratefully, honoured to receive attention from their seniors at work

“What is going on with you?” You asked Myungjun, pulling him to one side as you got fed up with how dominant he was in the conversation.

“I’m just getting myself heard,” he began to explain, “with Soobin stood around with us, I want to make sure I have your attention.”

Your brows furrowed as you listened to Myungjun’s explanation. “Firstly, what’s the problem with Soobin? Secondly, you always have my attention anyway.”

“He fancies you,” Myungjun shrugged dejectedly, “and I’m worried that he might try and get your attention because he’ll want to find a way to impress you.”

“That’s ridiculous,” you couldn’t help but laugh, “he could never impress me.”

“Y/N, he’s insanely talented, much better than me.”

Your head shook as soon as Myungjun started speaking, “that’s not true, and anyway, I definitely don’t fancy him.”

“You don’t know him though,” he sighed, “that’s why I’m being so loud to stop you from getting to know him.”

“I don’t want to; I’m more than happy just knowing you.”

“I’m sorry, I guess I just got into a panic.”

JinJin:

“Is he serious?” Jinwoo scoffed as he read through the article that his manager had sent him, worrying that he might want to read it.

“What’s happened?” You quizzed, peering past Jinwoo’s shoulder to try and get a glimpse at what had seemed to rile him up.

He turned his phone so that you could see, “the interviewer asked Hwiyoung who his crush was, and he had the cheek to say you, someone that’s not single.”

“It’s just a crush,” you smiled back to Jinwoo, pressing a kiss against his cheek, “I’ve never even met him to know what he’s like, it’s not as if you need to worry.”

“He’s horrible,” Jinwoo quickly told him, “the worst possible person imaginable.”

“You’re just saying that because of what he’s said.”

Jinwoo’s eyes rolled at just how well you knew him, “whether it’s true or not, he’s still nowhere near as good as I am Y/N.”

“Of course,” you agreed, “but you don’t need to get so protective, it’s just an interview, I bet he doesn’t even fancy me.”

“I bet he does, I mean I could hardly blame him if he did anyway.”

“It’s a shame all I’ll ever be is a crush for him.”

Cha Eunwoo:

“Where’s your boyfriend?” A voice asked, turning back to see Sehun coming up behind you, hovering just beside where you were.

“He’s just gone to speak to someone,” you explained, nervously glancing down to the floor as Sehun seemed to make himself comfortable.

His head shook as he leant in towards you, “it’s busy here tonight, he shouldn’t be leaving you around here all by yourself for anyone to come over.”

“You mean like you,” a voice suddenly spoke up from just beside Sehun, his figure shrinking down as he glanced back to see Dongmin hovering just behind him.

“I was just looking out for Y/N,” Sehun defended, “being a good friend.”

“I’m not an idiot, I know exactly what you were doing.”

With Sehun creeping away, Dongmin quickly sat himself down in Sehun’s spot. “What was he doing?” You asked, a little clueless.

“He fancies you,” Dongmin simply replied, “I know what he thought, make a move whilst Dongmin isn’t around.”

“If that was him making a move, he needs to work on his game.”

“He’s not the talker that he thinks he is.”

Moonbin:

“Does that guy really have nowhere else that he wants to look tonight?” Moonbin huffed as he looked past your shoulder once again.

“Just ignore him,” you tried to encourage, knowing that it was Yugyeom sat just behind you that had captured Moonbin’s attention.

His head shook as his eyes looked back across to you. “What does he think is going to happen? Aside from winding me up and getting himself into trouble.”

“Stop,” you sighed, grabbing both of Moonbin’s hands, “he wants a reaction out of you, there’s no way he’d be brave enough to do anything tonight.”

“It’s annoying,” Moonbin whispered, “I just wanted to enjoy tonight.”

“We can, just pretend that he’s not there.”

Moonbin’s eyes went to look again, but a squeeze of his hands quickly made him look back at you again, “I’m sorry, it’s hard.”

“Why don’t we swap places?” You offered, “that way you can’t look at him because you won’t be facing him.”

“No way, I’m not letting him sit there and get to see you.”

“Just ignore him, he’s not worth it.”

Rocky:

“Some guys really should be taught what guy code is,” Minhyuk huffed as he sat back down beside you after getting himself a drink.

“Should I ask?” You slightly laughed, resting your hand against the top of his thigh in an attempt to try your best to calm him down.

Minhyuk’s eyes flickered across to look at you, “Mingyu asking me if I was dating you or whether I’d just brought you for the evening as just a friend.”

“Maybe he wasn’t sure,” you tried to defend, but Minhyuk quickly shut you down with a sigh. “Does everyone know that the two of us are actually dating Min?”

“He knows,” Minhyuk huffed, “it’s just that he fancies you, that’s all.”

“He fancies me? He doesn’t even know me though.”

A shrug followed from Minhyuk, “that doesn’t seem to stop him though. He was trying to wind me up, find a way to get to you.”

“Don’t worry,” you whispered, a soft smile on your face, “I’m definitely not going to be going anywhere near him all evening.”

“I’m not letting you out of my sight with him around.”

“I wouldn’t want you to anyway.”

Sanha:

“Excuse me,” Sanha spoke up, using his shoulders to shield you as you walked into the entrance of the arena passing by a row of idols.

“What’s going on?” You asked, taken aback by how confident Sanha suddenly sounded as he made sure to block you off from being seen.

After walking for a few moments, Sanha looked back before standing back by your side again. “I was just making sure that no one spoke to you just then.”

“Who? Why?” You quizzed, glancing back to try and see who was around only for Sanha to quickly turn you back around and stop you from seeing anyone stood around.

“Changkyun was there,” he explained, “I’ve heard that he fancies you.”

“I could’ve just said hello if he spoke to me though.”

Sanha’s head quickly shook back at you, “I’m not even giving him the chance to talk to you, he’s got quite the charm you know Y/N.”

“I’m sure that he would never be able to charm me as much as you can,” you smiled back to Sanha, “he’s not that impressive, is he?”

“He’s definitely nowhere near as impressive as I am.”

“Of course, no one even comes close.”

he didn't know jealousy could come in a shade of blue. then again, he's never felt so much worry churning his stomach until this very moment.

stuck on one of the mall's benches, he has to watch lua converse with the stranger who approached her right after she exited the washroom. she might not see it, yet it's obvious that they're hoping to get more than a conversation from her. he knows because they're wearing the same look that he used to wear around the oreo haired girl before coming around to realize how deep his feelings actually were: infatuation.

the angel on his left shoulder encourages him to enter the picture, get the date back on track so he can take her out on many more. but the devil on his right is sewing doubt, pricking him with seemingly valid points. the stranger's good-looking, almost on par with cha eunwoo, and despite the mask concealing her face's lower half, lua appears to be having a lot of fun talking to them, so why should he ruin it for her?

he fidgets some more with the ends of his sleeves. and then he decides to take the necessary steps forward. whether it's to let her know that he'll head home, or to turn her attention back to him, he hasn't figured out that part yet.

but it becomes obvious that he doesn't need to when he hears lua say, “sorry but i've already got my eyes set on someone else. in fact, he's waiting for me so i have to go now.”

suddenly glued for a second time, he watches her turn around and look for him. it doesn't take her long to find him, and before he can budge, she's holding his hand and giving him the smile that looks like it's been sculpted out of moonlight.

“sorry i took so long. some person tried to ask me out, but i rejected them.” she explains, completely unaware that he already knows.

“it's okay, don't worry about it.” he returns her expression with a shyer version and leads her to another shop. “i actually planned plenty more to make sure that this will be the best second date ever.”

“really? you didn't have to. being able to spend this time with you already makes it the best for me.”

no matter how hard he tries to control himself, heat rushes to his cheeks. the mask is clearly no help, not when lua giggles at the sight, inevitably darkening his blush. but he doesn't mind, not when he can see that she's having a good time.

who cares if a cha eunwoo lookalike fancies her?

(obviously, he did, but that's in the past.)

it's him who has the chance of taking her out again, and again. and he'll keep doing it if that's what she wants.

so turns out jungkook made you rush here when he wasn’t even here yet. wonderful.

you’re a little embarrassed from being scared and upset because you forgot your glasses and you could’ve taken your time instead of rushing here like a maniac but you suppose it’s okay since jungkook didn’t stand you up.

“jungkook~” you whine because jungkook is so close to you but you try not to let it bother you too much and just get work on the essay. the earlier you both finish, the better.

altogether the essay takes about 2 hours to finish since you both ordered smoothies to drink and conversed a little about other topics.

“phew” you say as you take another swig of your smoothie and look over the two and a half pages you wrote while jungkook runs his paper through grammarly to check for any errors.

“maybe we should be partners more often” you smile referencing how fast it took the two of to complete the paper and you won’t lie, working with jungkook is a lot of fun. he’s funny, blunt, and very attentive when he wants to be. he claims ‘school isn’t for him’ yet here he is jotting his ideas down and you KNOW he must’ve been studying the textbook because he even helps you with your essay too.

it goes to show that when jungkook puts his mind to something he’ll get it done. you’re not sure if you’re the cause of his sudden change but whatever it is, you hope it remains.

“are you excited for your soccer game tomorrow?” you randomly ask after remembering that jungkook said he was at practice. “i can’t wait to see you and eunwoo play together. you guys are gonna do so good”

He gives you a small glare, “you’ll see me win yn.” he doesn’t even want you to say eunwoo’s name in front of him. He gets so fucking jealous.

And his jealousy can be really toxic. But he doesn’t want to insult you or break your heart because he wants to win it. “you better be cheering for me tomorrow.” He whispers into your ear, his breath tickling over your neck. “Be my good luck charm.” He says, smirking.

You’re breathing hard because he’s got you all nervous, Jungkook Is so happy that he’s able to pull out these reactions from you.

And just like that, you both talk for a while and eat some sweet treats before you head home. He’s a little sad to let you go but of course he’s excited for the match tomorrow.

Jungkooks gonna win. He has to.

His jersey is red, with his birth year printed on the back, and he’s already walking into the ground along with the team, but he’s immediately looking for you over to the bleachers, Jungkook practiced all night.. he has to win today.

But he is a little disappointed when he doesn’t see you sitting there already, but soojin is excitedly waving over to him, he smiles halfway but soon he’s focusing back to the ground.

Eunwoo with his team is right infront of him and after they all stand in a line, The call for the toss is made. Jungkook watches as his captain and Cha Eunwoo walk over to each other, and they’re standing, almost face-to-face, shaking each other’s hands before the captain of the team is calling for the toss.

Flipping the coin and jungkooks glaring at his rival for standing tall, all confident and calm.

His captain better win the toss.

“Heads or tails?” He calls out before jungwon, Jungkooks captain, calls for heads, and the crowd has already started to scream as the coin goes up in the air.

All of the players watch in anticipation, and Jungkook prays in his head that they get to initiate the game first.

And the crowd goes dead silent as the captain captures the coin in his hands, he’s growing so impatient as he waits for the announcement.

“ITS HEADS.” And jungkook almost screams.

“Who’s going to get the first kickoff?” Eunwoo asks, and Jungkook impatiently replies, whispering to himself “us us us!”

“Us.”

The goalkeeper is selected and Jungkook will be doing the kick off, so he’s already getting into position as he sets his eyes onto the ball.

And the game has officially started.
