Absolutely enchanted by this sand mandala at the San Antonio Museum of Art, created by actual Tibetan monks and allowed to be preserved by special permission from the Dalai Lama.
To preserve that which, by its nature, should be transient, so that it can be shared. The inherent tension in taking away that which gives it significance in order to educate countless others.

Here we are again with a Mandala window as a ghost portal.

POV:
The dark shadows were always there, lingering just beyond the edge of his vision. They crept silently, curling like tendrils of smoke behind him, their presence was heavier with each passing moment. Danny couldn’t escape the feeling that they were just watching—like they were waiting on something. They didn’t simply exist in the absence of light, no. They seemed alive—they were alive, moving with purpose, feeding on his unease.
Every creak of the wooden floor, every whisper of wind through the cracks, carried with it the weight of something unseen. His purring core raced, his breathing went shallow, as he glanced over his shoulder for the hundredth time, finding nothing but darkness lingering. But even then, he couldn’t shake the sensation—the certainty—that they were still there, lurking just behind, hidden in the folds of his own shadow.
It wasn’t just being paranoia, no. It was like a promise.

Finished Norse Mythos Mandala blackwork. I feel that the irritation of puzzling out all the complicated patterns on the chart was totally worth it.
