Pops loves cats. I will die on this hill. You may think he's a dog lover. He does love dogs, but cats always win out in his heart.

Now that I have reeled you, in you get to hear about my headcanon.

Pops has a cat named Scraps that he found scrounging for food on base. He doesn't know how old the cat is or, god knows, how many diseases it may have contracted. It's certainly not a baby, but it still has a few good years left in it. Half of one of its ears is missing. It only has one eye, and somewhere along the way, it was declawed. Or... kind of. Sometimes it looks like it's missing claws, and other times it has shiny talons. It also really doesn't eat much or sleep. It seems to have a sharp tongue and drools obscene amounts.

Is this a cat?

Pops acts like he begrudgingly took in the cat. Scrap is really known better as "that damn cat". But he's his damn cat.

Scraps is the friendliest to those he likes.

Peanut often kidnaps Scraps and he doesn't mind. He'll kind of just take one for the team until someone comes to rescue him from Peanut.

Scraps loves sleeping in the medbay. Wes absolutely despises that damn cat. Lily loves him. Lily tries her best to get Wes to tolerate Scraps.
