Oh my god?? Kissing your brain wrinkles right now in the most platonic way possible.
This is the perfect prompt to go the angst route. The, uh, Drentons, are absolutely unhinged and have almost zero regard for actual human life. Sure, they (kinda) care about their kids, but in a detached and psychotic way that would have CPS on their doorstep within the hour. They get too wrapped up in their testing and travel and fail to see that the 14-year-old experiment they started had deviated from their original plan years ago. The Drentons fail to realize that Nature vs. Nurture can go so much deeper than the base concept and that they introduced unusual variables by not providing a stable environment for any of their kids.
And a stable environment is the start of every good experiment, right?
So they fucked up. They fucked up right from the very start. Why even split the kids up if you won't watch over your test subjects properly? At least the kids would have had comfort in each other if they'd all been abandoned in one place. But they weren't. The parents had a 'cool idea,' acted upon it, and then promptly shoved it to the back of their minds in order to focus on more interesting research.
Tim is Subject A to the Drentons. He's the 'unloved' child, vulnerable to the cold halls of an empty home and thrown to the wolves of Gotham as soon as he can talk. Sure, he has all the money and material items he could ever want, but not a hint of warmth is shown throughout his childhood.
In their early notes, his parents hypothesize that Tim would become a criminal of some kind. It would start with drugs, obviously. He'd hang out with the more unsavory kids once he hit high school and give in to peer pressure right away. (Since no one taught him that drugs were bad, why wouldn't he say yes?) Then he'd get hooked and spiral, either attempting to spend away his portion of the Drake fortune or take up more illegal jobs to fuel whatever addiction he's been caught by. The Drentons were sure this would happen since it was such a common occurrence with rich kids these days.
Overall, they expected Tim to grow up with an irritable, bratty personality. They thought he'd be the kind of kid who would act out just to get attention (not that they'd ever give it to him.)
Danny is Subject B. He's the 'loved' child. Well, more loved. Just barely a step above 'unloved.' Danny was to be provided with a comforting home that made significantly less income than the Drake family. He had a sister, an older sibling (Subject 0), to bond with and play with. He had friends, went to public school, and was even allowed to be near the Drentons when they tested things in the lab! How generous of them!
Their notes on Danny hypothesized that he would grow to fall victim to the System, just in a different way than his brother. The boy was to grow up in a small, peaceful, and adoring home. This environment wouldn't challenge him like it would Tim, so while Danny might end up happier, he would ultimately be the weaker of the two. The Drentons thought he'd probably end up as an office worker because, of course, he wasn't smart or strong enough to live out his dreams as an astronaut. Tim was the one who had the resources to do anything he wanted; Danny was specifically raised in a way that was supposed to limit his options.
For their conclusion on Danny's notes, the Drentons figured that while knowing right from wrong, Danny would be the one to bend over backward to help someone. He'd be the exact opposite of his twin brother at the expense of his own health and safety.
But none of their notes turned out to be right. God, how did they not see it??
Tim grew up in an empty home, yes. But instead of turning to desperate moves for affection from his peers and relying on illegal substances to cope with the harshness of his life, Tim just fucking chilled for the most part. This was his normal; why should he be complaining so much? Sure he's a little freak who stalks people, but he's not harming anyone! He may be a little emotionally stunted, but he inherited his parent's brains and very quickly figured out how to take care of himself with the things that were provided for him.
Danny grew up in a home filled to the max with junk. Danny didn't exactly grow up to be the weak-willed boy who would give up on his dreams easily in order to live a simple life. He had to learn to work for himself to meet his needs despite the supposedly available adults. Nothing was provided properly. Sure, Jazz tried her best, and she was there when he really needed a shoulder to cry on. But Jazz is just a kid herself. She can't fill the holes their parents keep digging.
The link between twins must be true, however, because both boys did end up becoming heroes at the age of fourteen. And both because of their parent's negligence. That's something they'll be able to bond over once Danny finds his way into Gotham. Or maybe Tim goes to Amity? Perhaps following the last trail of notes his parents left before they were gone for good.
Only, they weren't gone for good.
Tim's parents were right there, living in the worst building he'd ever seen, smiling and chatting with two other kids. One of whom looked exactly like him. The boy tenses suddenly, looking around wildly, and the girl distracts the adults as quickly as possible, allowing the boy to slip out of the kitchen and out of the house. Tim follows him. Is this a clone? Did his parents clone him and then spend all their time loving another him? What was wrong with Tim that they refused to fake their deaths?
The boy was bolting down the street, not caring about other pedestrians. Tim followed after him. They ran and they ran, getting closer to the edge of town. They ran so long Tim was wondering if this was a trap. The boy eventually slid to a stop outside of an old house, decrepit and falling apart at the seams. He skirted the property, avoiding random spots like they contained live wire. Tim had no problem passing through the spots.
The boy led him around back. Because by now, there was no way the guy didn't know Tim was there. He'd given up the concept of stealth as soon as the buildings started getting shorter and more spread out. This was confirmed when they reached the backyard, the boy glanced around wildly, then turned to finally look Tim in the eyes.
They looked exactly like his own. Sad, broken, and betrayed.
"Hi." The boy croaked. "I'm Danny, your twin. I think I have some papers you should see."
---
They both cried heavily that day, both together and separately. They both hated and loved each other, despite being strangers. Tim was bitter that Danny grew up with two present parents, and Danny was bitter that Tim grew up without worrying about his next meal or rabid mashed potatoes. They both hated how their early identities were solely linked to their last names and were sad that they only got to be their real selves behind a mask. Tim mourned a brother he'd never known when he learned Danny had died. Danny mourned for a friend he could have had when he learned Tim grew up alone.
They both grieved for time lost and sneered at the futures their parents wanted. The notes Danny kept were copies, well-made ones, from research projects his parents had thrown out over the years. Jazz still didn't know. No one else knew. Tim was the only other person who was permitted to even touch the well-hidden box of aging papers and diagrams. After making copies of his own, the two twins burned the box together, along with the ties to their parents.
What if Jack and Maddie Fenton were actually Jack and Janet Drake?
The Drakes are their actual identities but they created the Fentons as a why of letting loose, of getting to be their truest most unhinged selves and pursue their true passion without the eyes of high society Gotham judging them.
Whenever the Drakes are supposedly out of the country on archeological digs they are actually in a little no where town in the midwest.
The Drake wealth is perfectly capable of funding their experiments and prototypes and every now and then they do show up to a dig for a week or too, but the Fentons are who they truly are.
So of course Gotham never finds out about Janet's first pregnancy and little Jasmine is welcomed into the world as an Amity Park Fenton, not a Gotham Drake. Janet's second pregnancy however.
Well as i said, the Fentons are who they truly are at their most unhinged and unfiltered. And upon finding out that their having a set of identical twins, well, can you really blame them for passing up this perfect opportunity to test Nature vs. Nurture.
One boy would be a wealthy Drake raised as an only child in a hostile city, the other would be a Fenton raised with his older sister in a peaceful small town.
That's what they decide and thats what they do, and everything is as cannon goes. Tim doesn't know that his parents "archeological digs" are really an excuse to spend most of their time as the Fentons, and Danny and Jazz don't know that the longer "ghost conventions" are an excuse to handle Drake affairs and check on their unknown brother.
At least until things start to get complicated.
(Im not sure if Maddie fakes Janet's death or if she really dies, and if Jack's coma is fake or real and he lost his Fenton memories. Or maybe the death and coma dont happen at all and the truth comes out some other way like Danny finding the Nature vs. Nurture notes or a school trip to gotham or maybe Jazz desides to go to college in Gotham and it comes out that way somehow.
Dont know but im tossing it to the void.)

2/5/21 Results + 3/5/21 Predictions
Results:
Man Utd:P Liverpool:P
Tottenham:4 Sheffield United:0
Newcastle:0 Arsenal:2
The biggest game of the weekend between Man Utd and Liverpool was called off after hundreds of fans broke into Old Trafford in protest against the clubs owners the Glazer family. There were protests outside the ground but at 2.30 fans breached security invading the stadium and getting onto the pitch. Flares were let off, firecrackers thrown and corner flags removed. The game was officially postponed at 5.50 with a date for the rearranged game yet to be announced. In the games that did go ahead Tottenham moved up to fifth keeping their Champions league hopes alive by beating Sheffield United 4-0. Gareth Bale scored the opener with a fine close range flick on 36 minutes but they should have had more in a first half the home side dominated. After having a goal ruled out for offside early in the second half Bale scored his second and his 50th league goal just after the hour and the Welshman completed his hat-trick with 20 minutes left putting the result beyond doubt and Heung-Min-Son finished the rout with a brilliant curled finish 13 minutes from time. The result leaves Spurs five points off 4th having played a game more than West Ham,Liverpool and Everton. In the other game Arsenal returned to winning ways beating Newcastle 2-0. The Toon had moved to within touching distance of mathematical safety with a four game unbeaten run but they were outplayed with Mohaned Elneny volleying home his first league goal inside five minutes before a dominant victory was secured when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang marked his first start since April 3rd with a second midway though the second half. A poor display was compounded in injury time when Fabian Schar was sent off,the result is Arsenal's first win in three league games lifting them to ninth while Newcastle stay 17th nine clear of the relegation zone with four games left.
There are two final games to finish off this round on Monday night.
6pm- West Brom v Wolves- Wolves win
8.15pm- Burnley v West Ham- West Ham win.

WAFU Cup of Nations heroes Where are they now?

The sixth edition of the West Africa Football Union Cup of Nations kicks off in Thies, Senegal, on Saturday, with 15 of the region’s sides — plus guests Morocco — contesting the two-week competition.
Past editions of the tournament have thrown up some star players and memorable performers, some of whom have used it as a launch pad to greater things in their career, and others who failed to build on the promise they demonstrated in the regional showpiece for local players.
Anthony Okpotu was one of Nigeria’s most impressive players at the last edition of the tournament, scoring once as they reached the final before being defeated 4-1 by rivals Ghana in Cape Coast.
The forward didn’t initially secure a move away from the Nigerian top flight, but after top scoring for Lobi Stars with 19 league goals, he was signed by Morocco’s Difaa Hassani El Jadidi in July 2018, and is currently on loan at Albanian side Laci.
Watch the WAFU Cup of Nations Live and Exclusive on ESPN in Africa from Sept. 28 to Oct. 12
Okpotu told ESPN about the role the Wafu Cup of Nations had on launching his career and helping him establish himself beyond West Africa.
“It was the highest-level national assignment for me at the time, and I felt really happy, honoured, and privileged to be given the opportunity to represent my country,” Okpotu said.
“My memories [of the tournament] were good, because I learned – for my next assignment — that I had to improve on what I’d done at the Wafu Cup.
“It was a good opportunity, and one I capitalised on in terms of reaching greater heights in my career.”
– Udoh: Who is Nigeria’s best player to have featured in WAFU Cup?
Okpotu wasn’t the only member of Nigeria’s Wafu Cup 2017 runners-up to secure a move abroad, with Afeez Aremu (Norway), Gabriel Okechukwu (Ukraine), Stephen Eze (Bulgaria), Peter Eneji (Serbia) and Chima Akas (Sweden) all departing home soil in the aftermath of their run to the final.
Eze has also been included in the senior Nigeria squad since his performances at the Wafu Cup, while Aremu remembers clearly the influence the tournament had on his career trajectory.
“I can remember the tournaments in the [previous] two years, where we weren’t earning bonuses or allowances in camp, but I chose to go because I knew there would be a lot of scouts there, which was an advantage to me, dreaming of playing in Europe,” Aremu told ESPN.
“As you can see now, I was scouted in our first match, and that put me where I am now; I can never forget this in my life.
“These are good memories for me anytime I remember back to those days. It was a good tournament for the country, but especially for me.”
For the Ghana side that won the competition two years ago, the likes of Winful Cobbinah (Albania), Emmanuel Lomotey (Spain) and Nuhu Musah (Switzerland) all subsequently moved abroad, and the latter had appeared bound for the Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars before injury struck.
Some recent tournament winners haven’t, however, managed to translate fine form in the Wafu Cup to success overseas, even if they did secure foreign deals on the back of their performances in the regional championship.
Nigerian duo Ekigho Ehiosun and Ikechukwu Ibenegbu are two examples, after they scored four each as the Super Eagles again clinched silver on home soil in 2011.
The former was included in the senior set-up by Stephen Keshi, and secured a move to Turkish clubs Samsunspor and Genclerbirligi, but he’s currently without a club after being released by Israeli second-tier side Hapoel Acre.
Ibenengbu, by contrast, wasn’t able to tempt any suitors to prise him away from Heartland, and he left the club only in 2013 to move to another Nigerian side, Warri Wolves.
He featured for the Super Eagles on a handful of occasions, but, as with Ejike Uzoenyi, a small stature may have represented an obstacle too great for ‘Mosquito’ to have truly made his mark in European football.
Two years after Ehiosun and Ibenegbu fell just short, it was Ghana who clinched the title when they defeated Senegal 3-1 in the final.
The match saw differing fortunes for Ghanaian duo Kwabena Adusei and Latif Abdul Mohammed, who scored for the Black Stars on the day, and Senegalese midfielder Ousseynou Thioune, who was dismissed at the death for the Teranga Lions.
However, the trio’s fortunes have differed significantly since the conclusion of the competition.
Thioune left Diambars in 2016 to move to Ittihad Tanger in Morocco, and then north to Spain’s Gimnastic and now Sochaux of France’s Ligue 2; it’s safe to say he’s put his Wafu Cup final disappointment behind him.
The Ghanaian duo, by contrast, have struggled to take their careers to new heights despite each having a winner’s medal in their back pocket.
Defender Adusei left Asante Kotoko for Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2014, for his first foray outside Ghana, but he has been out of the game since September 2015, when he was just 28, after injury problems curtailed his stay in South Africa.
For Mohammed, who scored twice in the final victory over Senegal, Asante Kotoko’s refusal to allow him to leave for Europe in the aftermath of the tournament denied him a certain career trajectory, and, instead, the striker has traipsed around a series of African leagues; Gabon, Zambia, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, and back to Ethiopia.
“[The Wafu Cup] was very successful, and by then, there was a club in Norway — Sandnes Ulf — who needed me,” Mohammed, now 29, told ESPN.
“However, my club in Ghana did not accept the offer. If I’d gone to Norway, I would still be in Europe by now.
“After the Wafu, we continued with the 2014 African Nations Championship [CHAN] in South Africa, and from there I got an offer from a club in Gabon, CF Mounana.”
While the examples of Mohammed, Adusei, Ehiosun and Ibenegbu serve as reminders of how difficult it is to translate a fine tournament showing into a long and successful career overseas, the case of Ahmed Musa proves that the Wafu Cup can be a launchpad for much greater things.
The Kano Pillars starlet was virtually unknown when he clinched the title with Nigeria in 2010, scoring twice en route to the gold, but he quickly progressed through the ranks to the full senior side while securing a successful career for himself in Europe.
He has represented the Super Eagles at two World Cups — no Nigerian has scored more than him in the tournament; has won the Africa Cup of Nations; and has represented CSKA Moscow, Leicester City and Al-Nassr, winning four league titles in the process.
Musa remains the tournament’s greatest success story, but can any of the hopefuls at the 2019 edition follow in his footsteps?

"It can happen": Messi's ex-coach gives Wolves exit warning over "magnificent" 5ft 10 star
There are often plenty of transfer sagas in football, especially when clubs are open for business twice per year, and for Wolves, there is one quickly building up which could potentially be the most-talked-about situation this summer.
What’s he said?
The form of wing ace Adama Traore has clearly been noted by a fair number of European heavyweights, most notably Champions League winners Liverpool and La Liga giants Barcelona, who are said to hold interest in signing him.
A return of five goals and ten assists in all competitions has forced the club to brace themselves for bids ahead of next season as per a report in the Telegraph.
And now fuel has been added to the fire as the coach who effectively found the 24-year-old in the La Masia academy has made some bold claims to BirminghamLive.
Albert Benaiges was asked if the imposing speedster could follow the route of former Premier League duo Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas in returning to the Nou Camp. He replied:
“It’s true lately I haven’t seen him play, but it can happen.”
“I’m not surprised by his performance. Adama was a magnificent boy.”
Albert Benaiges, ex-Barca academy man.
Increasing possibility
This is coming from a man who brought Andres Iniesta into the famous Barcelona academy aged 12, and over the course of 20 years as coordinator amongst other roles in the youth setup, he would have overseen the likes of Lionel Messi, Xavi and more too.
His words will certainly carry more weight than your bog-standard Premier League pundit or fan, that’s for sure.
<![CDATA[ !function(r,u,m,b,l,e){r._Rumble=b,r[b]||(r[b]=function(){(r[b]._=r[b]._||[]).push(arguments);if(r[b]._.length==1){l=u.createElement(m),e=u.getElementsByTagName(m)[0],l.async=1,l.src="https://rumble.com/embedJS/umc31"+(arguments[1].video?'.'+arguments[1].video:'')+"/?url="+encodeURIComponent(location.href)+"&args="+encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify([].slice.apply(arguments))),e.parentNode.insertBefore(l,e)}})}(window, document, "script", "Rumble"); ]]>
<![CDATA[ Rumble("play", {"autoplay":2,"video":"v5v0vv","div":"rumble_v5v0vv"}); ]]>
Barca may have let the 5ft 10 Spaniard depart in the summer of 2015 to join Aston Villa, but they thought enough of him to insert a buy-back clause in the deal but with him moving on to Middlesbrough and now Wolves, the La Liga champions will have to pay ever so much more now.
In fact, the numbers being thrown about would eclipse the current top-flight record in England which is Paul Pogba’s £89.3m return to Manchester United four years ago.
From Jay-Z to Tom Hanks: Do you know which clubs these famous celebrities support?
Wolves are on the cusp of breaking into the top six in the Premier League and are in the knockout stages of the Europa League too, however, the lure of playing for one of the best teams in the world may be too much of an attraction for some.
And in other news, Wolves should look no further than this Premier League top-six RIVAL to bolster their defence…

How the Premier League dealt with this season’s new rules during opening weekend
The Premier League had its first exposure to the new rule changes introduced by football legislators this weekend IFAB in the summer
The opening weekend of the English top racing season saw players – and officials – get a grip on the different tweaks.
We look at how the Premier League dealt with the changes during the first day of play.
It was a challenging weekend for Premier League officials because they got a grip on various rule changes introduced by the IFAB football legislators during the summer
Free kicks: No attacks players are allowed in the defensive wall
Players of a team that want a free kick within the shooting area nt, may no longer infiltrate & # 39; the defense wall established by the opposition & # 39;
They must stand at least one meter away or risk punishment from an indirect free kick awarded against them.
This change was generally enforced, but Liverpool came up with a new way to get around it during their 4-1 win over Norwich City on Friday night.
Liverpool found a loophole in the new Premier League rules for defensive walls by building their own meter for Norwich & # 39; s during Friday's opening game
The Liverpool wall simply split when Trent Alexander-Arnold took the free kick
Jurgen Klopp found a loophole by asking his players to build their own defense wall with three men one meter ahead of Norwich, obstructing the view of Norwich defenders and keeper Tim Krul.
The Liverpool players then ducked out of the way when Trent Alexander-Arnold hit the freestyle kick
Tottenham used a tactic similar to that of Christian Eriksen to take a free kick during his 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.
Former referee Chris Foy said: & # 39; It is within the letter of the law & # 39 ;, meaning other teams can follow well.
Tottenham tried a similar tactic when Christian Eriksen took a free kick against Aston Villa
Goal kicks: Receiving the ball in the penalty area
Previously, the ball had to leave the penalty box before a goal kick before playing could advance, but it could advance claim has now been removed from the rules.
Since many teams now like to play the ball shortly before the goalkeeper, this suits them, especially the opponents have to stay outside the box until the ball moves
Manchester Ederson Stadholder played many short goal kicks against West Ham
It is probably a small surprise that the city of Manchester from Pep Guardiola tried to exploit more than most.
80 percent of their goal kicks during their 5-0 win over West Ham on Saturday did not leave the box because Ederson played it short for a waiting defender.
Two-thirds of Liverpool's goal the stairs were short and half of Tottenham's while teams play themselves from the rear.
It was also a reflection of Norwich's intention to attack that 47 percent of their goal kicks failed.
Switches: Players must leave the field at the nearest point
In an attempt to reduce wasting time when teams make substitutions, players who leave must now leave the field at the nearest point on the sidelines.
This was generally observed, but Erik Lamela from Tottenham became the first player to be booked not to adhere to this new rule.
Tottenham's Erik Lamela gets a check mark from referee Chris Kavanagh for not leaving the field at the nearest point on the sidelines when replacing
Can someone explain the new sub-law this season? where a player should leave the field at the nearest exit point, 2 Villa players yesterday walked 50yds across the field from far to close, much longer, ref does nothing .. Lamela does the same and is booked ..
– Marc Trainis (@MarcSpurs) Augus t 11, 2019
Lamela – a walk-jog on the other side of the field – booked for a waste of time
Heaton – wasting constant time on goal kicks – absolutely nothing
– Martin (@ MPH1982) August 10, 2019
So a keeper can literally his time on a goal kick 7.8.9 times before being booked, but a player (Lamela) who leaves the field as a substitute, takes the long route off the field, wasting 1/5 of the time the goalkeeper has booked
No sentence
– Danny Clark (@ PaxtonDan515) 10 August tus 2019
He was replaced by Georges-Kevin Nkoudou in the 88th minute of Spurs & victory at Aston Villa on Saturday and trotted across the field to the technical area.
Because he had not gone to the field at the nearest point, referee Chris Ka vanagh had little but to present the yellow card.
Andreas Pereira of Manchester United walks around the field after being submerged
Handball: & # 39; Unnatural & # 39; arm positions punished
The summer saw a clarification of what no and no handball has told players that they don't have their bodies & # 39; can be made unnaturally larger by extending their arm or hand around the ball.
The opening weekend saw what will probably be the first of many controversial handball decisions in the Sunday scoreless draw between Leicester City and Wolves.
Wolves saw what would be a winning goal, not allowed by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) after Willy Boly received a set of goalscorer Leander Dendoncker with his arm
Most controversial incident of the weekend cam when Wolves had thrown out a target in Leicester when Willy Boly was awarded by VAR to have been handled in the box during the build-up
The rain l change deleted the word & # 39; intentionally & # 39; from the handball regulations and so when replays showed that Boly had controlled the ball with his arm, it didn't matter whether it was intentional or not
On Saturday, Roberto Pereyra of Watford thought he was supposed to have received a penalty after his free kick hit Brightons Glenn Murray on the elbow.
But after a VAR check, Pereyra was left disappointed
] Watford & # 39; Roberto Pereyra believed he should have been awarded a penalty when his free kick hit Brighton & Glenn Murray on the elbow – VAR disagreed
Yellow and red cards : can be shown to managers and coaches
Referrals now have the option to display yellow and red cards. wave goodbye to managers and coaching staff as they step out of line.
Pep Guardiola was the first Premier League manager to show a yellow card during the Community Shield.
But no manager or coach was carded during the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola gets a yellow card too see during the Community Shield

Who is Nigeria’s best player to have featured in WAFU Cup of Nations?

The WAFU Cup of Nations is upon us again, and Nigeria, as usual, will be contenders for the title. The Super Eagles B side has been to the final at each of the three editions they have contested, winning once.
In doing so, they have thrown up a number of players who have gone on to make a splash in the main Super Eagles team.
Here are five of the best.
Musa is by far and away the most prominent of the players who have used the WAFU Cup of Nations to launch their careers has been. In 2010, the virtually unknown Kano Pillars hotshot was a member of the squad that claimed Nigeria’s only title so far.
Musa, on his way to winning the Nigerian league Golden Boot, underwhelmed, scoring just twice as they went unbeaten throughout the tournament as host nation. His first goal came in the second group game, a 5-0 rout of Guinea that secured progress from the group stage. The second followed in the very next game, a 1-0 win over Burkina Faso in the semifinals.
Musa went on to represent Nigeria at under-20 level, and then made his Super Eagles debut a year later as a substitute in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea in Conakry.
The Super Eagles lost that game 1-0, as an inexperienced Musa, thrown on by Austin Eguavoen to help turn the tide, stayed on his feet despite being clipped when his pace had got him past the Guinea defence.
Musa has since represented Nigeria at two FIFA World Cups, becoming the Super Eagles’ all-time leading goal scorer at the showpiece tournament — with four — and won the Nations Cup title with the Super Eagles. He is currently the team captain.
– Udoh: Amapakabo thinks big for Nigeria at WAFU Cup of Nations
Ejike Uzoenyi represented Nigeria at two WAFU Cup tournaments, winning one title. The forward was not exactly a star on the WAFU stage, but his performances were enough to earn him a full debut in 2012 as Nigeria embarked on qualifying campaigns.
He went on to feature in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, playing his part as the Super Eagles came away champions.
A year later, he broke out spectacularly at the African Nations Championship (CHAN), scoring three goals and supplying four assists in six games as the late Stephen Keshi’s team came away with the bronze medal.
Uzoenyi also was a member of Nigeria’s squad to the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
Unfortunately, his club career has not gone so well, as moves to South African clubs Mamelodi Sundowns and then Ajax Cape Town just did not quite pan out.
As a forward with Warri Wolves, Ekigho Ehiosun burst out in a flurry of goals under Samson Siasia. Called up as a replacement for the injured Victor Anichebe as Nigeria prepared for a friendly against Sierra Leone, Ehiosun announced himself by scoring within seven minutes of coming on.
His place in the WAFU Cup of Nations squad was all but secured after that, and he carried his form into the tournament, posting four goals in three consecutive games to make him the Super Eagles’ leading scoring striker at the tournament.
Ehiosun’s international career tallied just six games, due to injuries and constant club changes, but still he was good enough to secure a move to Turkey’s Samsunspor and then Genclebirligi.
Nigeria’s 2014 FIFA World Cup midfielder Gabriel Reuben made his bones for the Super Eagles in the 2010 WAFU Cup tournament.
One of the bigger-name players in the squad, Gabriel showed his quality, scoring three goals from midfield as the Super Eagles won the tournament on home soil — including one in the 2-0 title game win over Senegal.
Naturally, the showing earned him a full call-up and debut in a 5-2 win over Congo DRC, with his first senior goal coming in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Malawi.
Reuben went to become part of Nigeria’s Afcon 2013-winning squad, although he never played at the tournament.
A year later, however, he did play at the biggest stage of all, the FIFA World Cup, featuring as a substitute for the injured Ogenyi Onazi as Nigeria lost to France in the Round of 16.
His club career has not been quite as inspiring, and his international career appears to have become stuck on 12 caps.
Ezenwa presents a chicken-and-egg situation as far as WAFU is concerned. He was already a regular Super Eagles squad member before playing at the WAFU Cup of Nations, but his showing at the tournament in Ghana in some way helped to cement his position in the senior team.
A member of the class of 2017, Ezenwa kept four clean sheets as Nigeria reached the final but then shipped four goals as a discombobulated side was were dismantled 4-1 by hosts Ghana.
It was not enough, though, to deny Ezenwa recognition as Goalkeeper of the Tournament, a deserved reward for his earlier heroics.
Ezenwa carried that form into Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying games after Daniel Akpeyi was axed, and he continues to be a regular squad member.

Gossip: Man United eye shock raid for ‘unhappy’ Spurs pair
Date published: Sunday 22nd September 2019 8:25
TOTT DOLLAR The return of a Spursy streak to this Tottenham side could have some far-reaching consequences. Has Mauricio Pochettino taken these players as far as he can? Is it time to bring Juande Ramos back? At what stage do they replace Harry Kane with Roberto Soldado?
It seems that two players have taken their current plight particularly badly. Considering Lucas Moura has started two Premier League games all season, appearing for a combined nine minutes across the last three matches, that might not come as much of a surprise. The Daily Star refer to the Brazilian as ‘unsettled’ and ‘unhappy’ with his inability to win over Pochettino a ‘serious cause for concern’.
Moura ‘will be increasingly keen to quit’ if his chances of playing regularly do not improve. And with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ‘a huge admirer of the versatile South American,’ a potential exit route has already emerged.
The Manchester United manager has made the right noises concerning Mason Greenwood’s development, suggesting he is Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez’s replacement. But Moura is seen as ‘the best solution to the problem’.
And while United are busy trying to persuade Tottenham to part with a player they value at around £50m, they might pursue one of their former targets.
The Star also say Eric Dier ‘is being monitored’ by those in charge at Old Trafford. His position is even more, well, dire, having been on the bench in six out of seven games this season without playing a single minute.
No potential fee or value is mentioned, but the Star mention ‘a cut-price swoop’ as they are ‘in the market for a holding midfielder’.
BRAUT FORCE As predictable as it was to see Erling Braut Haaland linked with Manchester United after his midweek exploits, things have gone a little too far. Links to Barcelona? Come on now. Rumours concerning Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus? Seriously…
The latter update is, according to the Daily Mirror, a result of ‘reports in Italy’. Manchester City are also thrown into the equation, but there is no link to the initial story. Weird.
After a bit of a search, the trail of breadcrumbs leads us to a quaint little website called TuttoJuve.com. And they, while making absolutely no mention of the Premier League champions whatsoever, bring ‘confirmation of Juventus’ interest’.
In total, there are 43 words. And a whole lot of conjecture and supposition.
AND THE REST Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Middlesbrough are among the clubs interested in Wolves centre-back Cameron John, 20, who is on loan at Doncaster Rovers… Aston Vila are set to compete with Leeds United for the signature of Coventry City defender Sam McCallum, 19.
