Fuck Thy Neighbor

The voice next to him cut through Bilbo’s garbled and fuzzy train of thought, and as he looked towards the fellow next to him who had his attention on the bartender, the second olive that Bilbo had gone to swallow definitely went down the wrong pipe.

Long dark curls were pulled back into the messiest bun revealing a strong jaw coated in dark facial hair, a strong and pointed nose…and then there were those eyes. So strikingly blue that practically glowed as the neon lights within the bar seemed to change now and again. It was offensive, but not in the lethal sort of way like a near-deadly olive.

After a few coughs and tears pricking at the corners of Bilbo’s eyes, a heavy pat landed on his back, and for a moment he thought it was Hamfast, but the voice that spoke didn’t match his friend, but that of the dark-haired beauty that had sauntered up next to him–though sauntered would be a bit of a stretch. Stomped was more like it considering the ‘fuck you’ attitude this guy radiated.

“You alright, man?” 

Those are two of my truly beloveds; @mathelaw one of the first and favourite artists I've ever commissioned and @lordoftherazzles who's been a friend to me in many a dark moment.

The story is hilarious and you should definitely read it and the art is - as always - delightful and charming! (and I am laughing my fucking head off...@mathelaw has simply a sense of humour that makes my heart sing!!!)

Back in June I did a “doodle a day” challenge and I posted the little doodles I made on the door of my office at the nursing home where I work. The residents loved it so much that I decided to do the same thing for #inktober2021 ✒️ So I have been mostly posting the images there on the little gallery spot I made for them, and haven’t really been posting them here. October is always really busy for me so this will probably be my last Inktober year for a while, but I am going to try to remember to post the drawings here too for this year! Diamond in the garden (chapter 6)

Fíli appraised the hobbit for a second.  He had put on some weight since the last time Fíli had seen him which was probably normal.  And he seemed as though he had not aged over much.  Beyond that there was not much Fíli could determine about the hobbit and he dared not ask.  Is he happy with his wife?  Is this the life he would have wanted before he left on the quest?  

There was one other thing that was clear to Fíli, even if Bilbo had gotten married he still cared for Thorin.  So he gave the best answer he could given the circumstances, “You know Bilbo, we are not the only members of the company who wanted to see you and wondered after you.”  Bilbo’s eyes went a little at the implication but he shook his head.  “I’m glad to see you Fíli and to hear about everyone.” Or almost everyone.

This is an ongoing story by my dear friend @frosticenow that presents the reader with quite a few mysteries and questions; we can't wait to see where this one is going!

Thirty Minutes to Change Your Life

Thorin chuckled and took a drink of his beer for courage. He’s learned that asking people out at bars takes a bit of strategy. Going for the nonchalant play, he decided to walk by their table until he found a point in their conversation where he could jump in. It works well for him most of the time. Only this time, he heard something that nearly had him stop cold.

“You say this every year! You’re not going to jump, Bilbo.” The cousin groaned.

“Nope. You won’t change my mind this time, Siggy. I’ve got nothing to lose. I’m doing it this time.”

It's a short story about the loneliness, despair, and humour inherent to the state of being alive. It's truly adorable, and you should give it a read!
