I was looking for something light and harmless to watch during my meals. What's better than an anime about meals ?!

It started pretty much like any other isekai out there. And also continued. And ended like one. Which is great, because the laid-back mood was pretty on point. The character are pretty pleasing, and the backgrounds are pretty nice and the ending & bonuses in different art styles makes for a great variety, although the animation is a bit still for the most part. Despite the limited setting, we don't get bored and the pacing is enjoyable.

Women are unsurprisingly absent, but considering the (very low) standard of isekais, it's probably better like this. It's overall harmless and quite fun at some occasions. It is, however, a bit disappointing that every single dish was meat-based. And I'm a vegetarian... the story barely takes avantage of the fantasy setup and only recreate earthly recipes. And most of it is bought online. But oh well

I rated it 7/10. It was entertaining and fulfilled its role as filler, without red flag. I'll probably be watching another season. If you really want to watch a cooking iyashikey, then you would probably enjoy Maiko-san Chi no Makanai-san, which offers way more variety !
