A new one this time!! The summary is really interesting 👀 Excited to see.

Le Yeyao suddenly remembers he's transmigrated into this novel 18 years ago. Right as the main plot came online! And he's the useless adopted son of the antagonists of the novel... None of his family have good endings, and even now his second brother is tangled in a cheap BL romance plot!

He thinks to himself with shock: [Hey! Love-brain! Huo Yan! Do you still not know the child in your lover's stomach isn't yours?!] Le Yeyao has to warn him.... but how?

Meanwhile, the entire Huo family has turned to look at Ye Leyao with shock. He hadn't opened his mouth, but... What was that about your second brother?

The Huo family seems to have a little superpower. The happy little kid they adopted years ago seems to have the scoop on a ton of gossip... And only they could hear his thoughts on it! A relatively normal wealthy family becomes a group of melon eaters overnight. An incident will happen at the upcoming banquet no one wanted to go to? The whole family has to go! Someone is targetting the Huo family? Better expose that person quickly before Le Yeyao gets too anxious about it! Somehow, the Huo family both gets entertainment, and gets to avoid their terrible fates!

Oh, and the mysterious President Qin, Qin Yao? For some reason, he can hear Ye Leyao's thoughts too.

This novel isssss so good. So good. I really enjoyed reading it. Both the beginning half of the novel where most of it is just going from one gossip topic to the next, and the later half when the big reveal happens, are just really good. Appeals to me, specifically.

Ye Leyao is a fun character! He doesn't seem to filly understand some emotions when it comes to himself, but is right on top of all the twists and turns of his gossip topics. He enjoys watching the show, but also steps in when those who are really innocent are about to get hurt. His relationship with the entire Huo family is really solid. Everyone in the Huo family adores him, and sees him as true family. I found it really funny and endearing when they kept hearing Leyao's increasingly errant thoughts about holding Qin Yao's hand and having an emergency family meeting because of it. Huo Yan's overprotectiveness in particular is fun because the rest of the family teases him about it (though he has a good reason).

Qin Yao is an interesting character and I liked him quite a but. He's got a weird family and has a lot of responsibilities, and it overlaps with the Huo family's activities a lot. Its funny to see him perk up when he hears Ye Leyao's thoughts while at a random venue or banquet and going 'Ok what's happening now??'. And also he can't seem to catch a break with the celebrities he invites to his variety show. Everyone he picks has bits of gossip Ye Leyao remembers.

The relationship with Ye Leyao is nice, and it happens slowly. He catches feelings before Ye Leyao fully understands that he likes Qin Yao, and is happy to wait for him to figure it out. He treats him really sincerely and its a good contrast to all the horrible relationships and gossip surrounding them. They do have a bit of an age gap (Qin Yao is 24, Ye Leyao 18) but sincerely, don't let that stop you from reading this. Its not super important and even the Huo family is alright with it (besides Huo Yan. but that's just Huo Yan).

Le Yeyao slowly figuring out just what he finds comforting and right about Qin Yao is just so. Good. I enjoyed that undercurrent while everything else was happening.

The side characters! Are also all really good! Besides the cannon fodder villains, which are relatively obvious as Ye Leyao points them out immediately, the actual mainstay side characters are all really well developed. I loved the variety show group, especially Le Yeyao's eventual friendship with Song Zhehan and Li Siyuan. Song Zhehan despite not being able to hear Le Yeyao's thoughts gets really good at figuring out when he knows more than he lets on and its really funny to see Le Yeyao be surprised about this. The entire main cast gets really close to each other (through trauma each other's gossip. lol) and I'm happy to see a lot of the extras are devoted to them.

The first half of the novel made me laugh, the second half made me cry!!! Everyone really loves and cares about Ye Leyao.... And that's all I'll say about that :c I'm definitely going to dig through the author's other works!

How was the translation? Good! Some minor pronoun swaps towards the end, and some phrases (i.e. Le Yeyao's Melon/Gossip King title) are a little inconsistent but not confusing. A typo or two. Some weird word choices in an extra. The big thing was that I had to read every chapter in Read mode on firefox because the website is not very friendly. But it reads fine in Reading mode so that's just a minor thing.

Would I recommend this novel? Yes!! Go read it 🥺

Would I reread this novel? Yes! I will definitely read this again next year!

**A guest on the first episode of the variety show has a fake show persona of eating a lot- but she secretly vomits everything up afterward. When this comes to light things are pretty nasty to her, but it framed less like an ED and more like she is putting on the persona to gain fame. Shrugs. They move on from her pretty quickly.

**A guest on the fourth episode of the variety show is a voice actor who cross-dresses occasionally. Both because he likes cross-dressing but also to avoid being beat up by one of the permanent guests. The cross-dressing is called his fetish, but its more teasing than anything. He changes back to wearing men's clothes after his initial appearance.
