~~English Edition~~
Zhou Yu stares at his lord lying on his bed, either asleep or passed out and thinks: if that arrow had pierced armour, robes, skin, muscles, heart, how good that would have been. If his head had been seperated from the rest of his body in one deft strike, giving the Little Conquerer of JiangDong the vigorous, decisive, splendid yet unspectacular death he deserved, how good that would have been.
The arrow was poisoned, the doctor said no matter how much medicine and rest he gets, Sun Ce has three months. Three months? Three months is incredibly long— enough to establish a lifelong fame, enough for the rise and fall of kingdoms, enough for changes of dynasties. But for eternal seperation in life and death, three months is nothing yet too long.
Looking at he whose hands tremble even when holding chopsticks gripping a bowl of medicine, refusing help then spilling the majority of it along with a torrent of tears on his collar and table. Every spill of the dark medicine from Sun Ce's hands makes Zhou Yu wish it was but that time Sun Ce got blackout drunk, slammed his leg on Zhou Yu's table, overturning it along with everything on it, soaking his clothing with ink instead of it being herbs keeping him on his last legs again.
That weak "apologies, that bowl has slipped my hand. Maybe the Sun family's country would drop out from the bowl one day." has been heard enough times for one to tire of it, but every time it is repeated might be the last, so one has no choice but to listen one more time; to carve each syllable in one's heart.
Zhou Yu doesn't belive that it is a waste to carve the delirious mutterings of illness on a piece of jade with beauty only seen once in a lifetime. As long as the penmanship is grand enough, endless poems will be written for it by future generations.
The repeated carving of the jade finally meets a mistake—the heavens which should be long dead reawaken to tease the living—the knife which carved on the jade too much too densely slips, and with a mouthful of blood splits in half. That moment, Zhou Yu thought of a strategy that can win him a battle and allow him to be buried with the dead.
How good it is to die swiftly in this era, to take one's last breath before all one's glory is lost, to fall at one's peak, leaving only a legend of the ages.

Flourished Peony (国色芳华 | 锦绣芳华): Intangible Cultural Heritage meta
Show's weibo had various provincial tourism accounts promote various trivia tidbits that appeared in the show. I have compiled the title cards of the relevant scenes, a pic of the relevant weibo post, a summary of the content in English and baidu links for the topics for your further reading.
Dragon and Phoenix Flower Candles (龙凤花烛 Lóngfèng huāzhú)

From Zhejiang Cultural Tourism:
On the body of the traditional Chinese wedding candles, dragons and phoenixes are hand-carved, in addition to peonies, mandarin ducks, lotuses with two stems and other auspicious patterns. The candles must burn until dawn, symbolizing a happy marriage and that "husband and wife are of one mind and live together until old age." It's a core token of wedding customs in Jiangnan, especially Zhejiang, Jiaxing. They are made with pure beeswax. The top is decorated with the character for Double Happiness, 囍 (shuāng xǐ), and when it is lit, no blue smoke rises, and the flame is soft. In the olden days, when Jiaxing people married their daughters, they would have craftsmen customize these candles. It takes seven days from making molds, pouring wax to carving. The left candle for the man, the right candle for the woman.
Mother-of-Pearl Crafts (螺鈿工艺 Luótián gōngyì)

From Zhejiang Cultural Tourism and Fujian Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism:
Also called shell carving, "Luo" refers to the snail shell material, "dian" refers to the inlay processing. Mollusk shells such as snails and shellfish are manually peeled, ground and made into thin slices, then pieced together and superimposed in exquisite patterns and inlaid on the surface of lacquer and wooden objects. The process goes as: embedding, polishing and carving. The lacquer-back mother-of-pearl bronze mirror unearthed from a Tang tomb and the mother-of-pearl tortoise octagonal box from Nara, Japan are classic examples. It has a very long history dating back to Shang and Zhou dynasties. The variety of shells was richer in the Yuan and Ming dynasties, and in Qing dynasty a variety of other material were also incorporated. It's a representative artform of Wenzhou and was added into Zhejiang Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2007. Since 1950-60's, shell carving crafts were mass produced. Since 70's state-owned craft factories were promoted. It has since made technological breakthroughs and products were exported overseas. In the 1980's it became an economical pillar. In 1992, more than 3200 shell carving screens of more than 30 varieties went to Barcelona to add color to Olympic Games.
Nuo Masks (傩面具 Nuó miànjù)

From Jiangxi Tourism account:
These are important props for Nuo folk sacrifices and opera. Their purpose is to ward off disasters and usher good fortune. Pingxiang Xiangdong Nuo mask made from camphor wood and has been passed down for 3 generations is one of the National Intangible Cultural Heritages.
I have a post I did for Riverside Code by Qingming Festival on Nuo theatre, which you can read here:
Chinese Fire Arts (风火流星 Fēng huǒ liúxīng)

From Home of Intangible Cultural Heritage:
This dangerous and difficult artform integrates folk acrobatics, Chinese Martial arts, music and dance and was mainly circulated in Jinyuan district, Taiyuan, Shanxi. The performers hold a long rope with burning charcoal kept in iron cages at both ends. Sparks fly when the performers dance, forming various patterns. There are famous routines such as "Double Dragons Opening the Way" and "Entangled Fire Dragons". Gongs and drums are played in the background to complete the atmosphere.
Puppet show (木偶戏 Mù'ǒu xì)

From Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism:
Heyang's String Puppet show is one of the Shaanxi Intangible Cultural Heritages. There's no exact documentary on the time of origin. It is simply said that "Began in Han dynasty, flourished in Tang." Some string puppets can imitate almost all the movements of humans and animals. From the background music, singing, puppet carving, costumes and makeup, Heyang puppetry's unique characteristics are preserved to this day by professionals.
Flower Lantern Making (花灯制作 Huādēng zhìzuò)

From Shaanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism:
Lanterns have a long history in Shangzhou. They are mostly hung during traditional festivals, weddings and birthdays to create a warm atmosphere and add festive colors. In Shangzhou, from the 30th day of the 12th lunar month to the 15th day of upcoming 1st lunar month, red lanterns are hung in front of the doors of farmers, urban residents and government agencies. On the night of the lantern festival, people take joy in watching oceans of lanterns, guessing lantern riddles and setting off firecrackers. Shangzhou lanterns are diverse in form. Common designs are the twelve zodiac signs, fat dolls, lions, dragons, cabbages, watermelons, airplanes, tanks, cars, ships, or just simple box lights and also rotating lights. There are also animal, fish, insect, bird and flower patterns. They vary in size and can be hung or held in hand. Most of Shangzhou lanterns are made by traditional craftsmen. Some are so finely crafted to the point of being lifelike. There are abstract patterns, andromorphic features and all sorts of vibrant and exaggerated styles with national and folk characteristics. This artform brings together the imaginative and ingenuine elements of Chinese painting and architecture.
From Zhejiang Cultural Tourism:
Boneless lanterns (无骨花灯 Wú gǔ huādēng), also known as the (仙居皤滩花灯 xiān jū pótān huādēng) originated in Tang dynasty. It is also called the Tang Lantern and also as No.1 Lantern in China. The production process is complicated, and is roughly divided to 13 steps including mapping, cutting, lighting, integrating painting and embroidery. There are more than 80 varieties of both single and group lanterns.
My post on Fireworks, Puppetry and Lanterns in Song Dynasty as per Riverside Code at Qingming Festival:
Diabolo (抖空竹 Dǒu kōngzhú)

This requires excellent coordination of limbs and makes for a great physical exercise. There are various routines such as "Perched Golden Rooster" and "Climbing Mountains and Ridges". There are types of Diabolos that have single or double wheels and surrounding whistles to make sounds. Can be performed with single, double or multi players. It was included in National Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2006.
Sugar Paintings (糖画 Táng huà)

Err this one is not much of a niche info as the prev ones were, I'm sure many of you have seen sugar paintings in C-ent content. I've linked the wikipedia page above for an easy read.

2P!Poland Marukaitu Chikkyu - Czesław
Chinese Lyrics
written by me and slightly changed by @/lightworknoreaction

English Lyrics:
(translated, might not be accurate)
Hey hey Tato, please help me out
Hey hey Mamo, hey hey Mamo
The things I experienced before
I always seem to forget about them...
Powerless struggles, that's the earth
Countless deaths, that's the earth
Hopeless prayings, that's the earth
'Cuz i am the Poland...!
The "weakest" one, the so called "immortal"
The one that suffers because of other countries' greed
'Cuz I am Poland...
("Ah! I'm sorry I'm sorry-")
Ah, such splendid world in my mind
It's completely different from the reality
The only thing on my mind
It's all only about Kęst...
("If I always have to go down with my country, then maybe I should be stronger.. but when will that happen?")
("I heard that Russia is very strict to Lithuania... He's fine, right? Right..?")
Beg for repentance, that's the earth
Recycle of life, that's the earth
All for nothing, that's the earth
'Cuz I am the Poland...!
The pathetic immortal, the burnt-out phoenix
Being partitioned at manys, I'm forced to revive
The never-ending hard life
'Cuz I am Poland...
("Please end my suffering from this...")
When I see myself in the mirror,
I can't help but to feel guilty
I can feel myself rotting by the minute
It's an endless tragedy!
Until i found the one I've longed for,
a very important person in my heart
The person I've been with, during the hardest times
My Lithuania!
("Nonono- please don't leave me...")
Hey hey Litwa, would you help me with this?
Hey hey Litwa, hey hey Litwa
The memories i had with you
The most precious treasure I've ever had
I promise I'll never forget them, never!
(I wish I could never forget them,)
It's like a miracle!
(Honestly, they always seem to slip when I'm back.)
(Kęstutis: Let's stay together, Czesław)
(Czesław: Really?)
(Kęstutis: I don't know where I'd be without you.)
(Czesław: Y-you think of me that highly?!)
Draw a circle, dear friend
Litwa my dearest friend
An important, dearest friend
My one and only, Irreplaceable...
We've went through multiple wars,
It's an agonizing memory
Even when we can't see each other,
Our strong bond won't break
Ah, such splendid world
the wishes had come true,
Hey hey listen, Lithuania
Thanks for your hardwork all these years!

i wanted to talk about the new scratch card set (it was a lot of work gathering all this info and somebody is gonna hear about it), it's based on the traditional clothing of the Yi people (彝族), an ethnic group in southern China, it's been difficult finding clear information about their clothes as much of their culture has not been recorded in an academic manner, big shout out to the chinese fans that helped me find all this info

the set seems to be a depiction of women's formal wear, something reserved for ceremonies or festivals, i believe much of the jewellery is normally reserved for bridal wear, but there are several photographic records of the torch festival (火把节), one of the Yi people's main holidays, that show women wearing a very similar outfit, the torch festival is also referenced throughout the descriptions and titles for this set

photos

photo
lets break down some of the parts
the Yi people are famous for their intricate silversmithing, which is passed down from father to son, as you can see the jewellery that a woman saves up for her wedding day is enough to dress head to toe, the patterns and subjects used are typically religious and cultural iconography
(a quick note, i'm not using the yi names for anything because i can't find them, i did my searching in english and mandarin which likely limited my range)
i believe the black base of these hats are called 塔型帽 (tower hats) as that's how they were described in the artist's weibo post, the one on the left is called a 凤冠 (phoenix crown) in the game, which likely refers to the large silver phoenix attached to the hat

photo
this is a “瓦片”头帕 ("tile" headband), so called because the many layered fabric is stiff and forms the shape of a rectangle tile when tied down on the head, they're typically decorated with red coral beads and silver pins

separate from the necklace, the 扯扯火 (chechehuo) is a long silver chest ornament made up of around 6 to 8 joined pieces, each having silver tassels hanging from them, altogether it's normally a meter in length and weighs around 10 kilograms, there is also a matching back ornament called 窝嘎 (woga), which cannot be seen in this set, though it is in the concept art for this set

photo
i believe this coat is a regional variant of the 查尔瓦 (chaerwa), or 羊毛披毡 (felted wool blanket), a traditional Yi woolen cloak, this one is made of a stiffer felted wool, does not have tassels, and is cut so that the shoulders are pointed in a distinctive rectangle shape, the colors used will vary by age/social status/region but typically it's white, black or navy blue

the styles and colors of clothing and embroidery vary greatly by region, i'm not sure which region this specific outfit is from, but Yi people tend to prefer black as a main color for their outfits, adult women will wear this long pleated skirt and women in general will wear this right-lapel embroidered jacket with a separated collar
yi women will begin learning embroidery from a young age, incorporating common Yi patterns and motifs into their work, in this set the ram's horn pattern (side by side spirals) can be seen throughout, a wisteria vine pattern can be seen at the bottom of the shirt, and much of the embroidery is made up of repeating geometric patterns similar to that of traditional Yi embroidery

photo
you can see a 三角包 (triangle bag) in the slit of the shirt, these small decorative bags normally have intricate embroidery and long colorful tassels, they're primarily used to hold small change, sewing needles and tobacco leaves

the hairstyles are likely meant to represent coming of age events, a yi girl will wear her hair in one single braid until she becomes fifteen, at which point she will change to two braids split down the middle, and then when a woman marries she wraps her hair up in a bun
this set also heavily references the Yi legend of the "月亮女儿" (Moon Daughter)
i can't find a version of this in english, so i will be very roughly translating the story under the cut
Zimo Lingza
In picturesque Xichang, there was a Yi girl named Zimo Lingza. The cattle and sheep she herded grew fat and strong, and the buckwheat and oats she planted had a good harvest every year. The melodious sound of her singing and piano playing drifted to the ends of the earth, and she could weave a realistic world into her sheep's wool blankets. She wove flowers, and the flowers would attract butterflies. She wove butterflies, and the butterflies would attract bees. She wove bees, and the bees would attract cuckoos. She wove cuckoos, and the cuckoos would call pheasants. She wove pheasants, and the pheasants would call billy goats. She wove billy goats, and the billy goats would call the dragon eagle. She wove the dragon eagle, and the dragon eagle would carry on its back a gorgeous spring.
One day, white clouds were floating over Lingza Luo Mountain, and saw the girl, Zimo Lingza, sitting under a pine tree, weaving a blanket. The clouds coiled around the mountains for a long time, watching carefully. When the clouds were done, they flew to the Moon Palace and reported to the Moon Fairy, "Ah (cloud noises), the mountains there are so green! The water there is so bright! But no matter how green the mountains are, they are not as vibrant as Zimo Lingza's skirt! No matter how bright the water is, it's not as bright as Zimo Lingza's eyes! No matter how beautiful the flowers are, they are not as beautiful as Zimo Lingza's face!" The Moon Fairy was so anxious when she heard this! Why were the white clouds rambling like this, what did they mean to say? When the white clouds saw that the Moon Fairy was anxious, they hurried to say; "It's incredible! The girls in Xichang are so clever. Every piece of blanket woven by Zimo Lingza of the Yi family is a treasure! Ah (cloud noises)!" After the white clouds said this, the Moon Fairy became shy! Everyone knows that she is the most accomplished fairy in the Moon Palace. She can brew sweet and delicious osmanthus wine, she can cultivate the swaying Chinese bellflower trees, she can dance in the royal palace with wide fluttering sleeves, she can even breed countless rabbits, but she can't weave blankets!
Before dawn the next day, the Moon Fairy went to tell Mother Sun about the blanket weaver, "Mother Sun, please invite Miss Zimo Lingza from Xichang to teach me how to weave a blanket!" Mother Sun agreed and asked, "Where can I find her?" The Moon Fairy said, "Send the seven-colored clouds to search the mountains and fields for her!" So Mother Sun sent out the red clouds, which searched all the ravines, but couldn't find her. Mother Sun then sent out the yellow clouds, the green clouds, and the blue clouds, which searched all the mountains, forests, grass slopes, and villages, but still couldn't find her. Then, Mother Sun sent the bright-eyed white clouds, and finally the white clouds found her under the pine trees of Lingzha Luo Mountain, where she was weaving a blanket. Mother Sun asked the dark clouds to pull up the curtain of rain, and then ordered the seven-colored clouds to build a rainbow bridge to take Miss Zimo Lingza to the Moon Palace.
The Moon Fairy began learning to weave a blanket from Miss Zimo Lingza, but she still couldn't accomplish it after ninety-nine nights. The Moon Fairy was so ashamed! The Moon Fairy volunteered to give up her position to Miss Zimo Lingza, but how could Zimo Lingza accept such a thing! Instead Zimo Lingza was asked to manage the Moon Palace. From that day forward, Zimo Lingza became the daughter of the Moon. In order to thank the Mother Sun for her kindness, Zimo Lingza gave her a red blanket. During the day, while the Sun Mother wore the red blanket around her shoulders, she asked the fairies to learn embroidery with golden needles and silver threads. At night, she asked the fairies to go to the Moon Palace to learn from Zimo Lingza how to weave blankets and play the moon lute.

《Lingering about the rafters for ten years》
Prequel-ish here, English under cut under Chinese, as usual, Ravages spoilers.
Death can be lighter than a feather or heavier than Mountain Tai. Zhou Yu thinks the weight of the Five Peaks are lighter than the death of his Lord, general, oath brother. The commander star of Ce was the Seven North Stars, shot down years ago. Without the North Stars, what use is Mountain Tai?
~~English Edition~~
Death can be lighter than a feather or heavier than Mountain Tai. Zhou Yu thinks the weight of the Five Peaks are lighter than the death of his Lord, general, oath brother. The commander star of Ce was the Seven North Stars, shot down years ago. Without the North Stars, what use is Mountain Tai?
Since the attempted assassination by the Handicapped Army, whether it is Zhang ZhongJing's lack of talent, the approaching end of Yu's life or missing Ce too much, the weight on his chest has been increasing exponentially from ten pounds to a hundred, a thousand pounds. On the brink of suffocation, he laughs: knowing the weight of Mountain Tai in this lifetime, I shall die without regret.
For the ten years since Ce died, his name has been remaining on every personnel list. Those who want to keep both their jobs and their heads from generals to servants know to not doubt any mistakes Grand Commander Zhou makes regarding his late brother. The normally logical Grand Commander is either living in a delusion or believes it is the same as the time with Ling Cao, he who died was but a body double. Fooling yourself to fool the enemy is a basic tactic. Sun Ce remains on maps at DanTu forever, his memory also permanantly remains at DanTu.
At the advent of Zhou Yu's death, the weight has increased to the Four Rivers in addition to the Five Peaks. Lifting his qin up the mountain was harder than ascending to heaven. The memory of sitting besides Sun Ce's bed, joking about who goes deeper down in hell, how long will it take to amend their sins of murder echoed "When GongJin dies peacefully at eighty, I will be waiting at the twentieth floor for you." "Bullshit. Hell only has eighteen floors. Where are you even waiting?" "Incorrect. How hard would it be to build two more floors for us wicked heroes from a chaotic time?"
Regreting leaving the world before eighty, regreting ZhongMou—whom he asked to be taken care of—having to experience the grief of a brother's death again, hating that the profference of this worthless head trades for the division of the world into three instead of unification.
If the heavens seek to destroy me, having received the kindness of JiangDong, why not paint the ground with my blood and die for the country? Zhou Yu sits on the cliff edge and gives his last song and life to the world. One song to split guts, where would one go to find a soulmate? No strength to shatter the qin like BoYa, Zhou Yu shall snap five strings to sacrifice for ZiQi.
Clang, toss the carved jade.
Clang, signal for fire.
Clang, the jade cracks under heat.
Clang, the jade cracks into three like the world.
Clang, hope we may be born on the same year, month, day in the next life.

Text
