Thanks to Tibetan Sea Flower I was finally motivated to start watching South Sea Tomb, the most recent entry in the Candle in the Tomb series.
I like it so far, but I would probably enjoy it more if the subtitles weren't so godawful. My Chinese is really crappy, but if even I can hear how bad the translations are then that's not a good sign.
Other than that I love the soundtrack and the whole atmosphere. It's adventurous, it's creepy, it's so 80s, and the sets and filming locations are gorgeous. This franchise has always been very pretty and of high quality, and this season is no exception.
Candle in the Tomb is slightly more down to earth and less unhinged than The Lost Tomb plotwise, so that's a nice change, too – though, personally, I don't like the characters quite as much as those from TLT. (Except for Shirley, she's amazing. ❤)
With only the usual 16 half-hour episodes this will be a quick watch. :)
