Another orphanage was built in Gotham thanks to Martha's funding and donations and tonight she was hosting a party to celebrate it. There was music, food, drinks, games, lounging, anything Martha knew her guests would want. Children were of course allowed to attend since this orphanage was for the children of Gotham. With the presence of children, unfortunately, came a no-alcohol rule that many adults at the party were unhappy with, though Martha could care less.

The party began without issue. When the music started, Martha was the first to start dancing. If you expected classical music and a ballroom dance from Martha, you didn’t know this version of her. If Martha was the one hosting it, that party was never going to get a ballroom dance. That party-girl? She danced her heart out to energetic, upbeat music.

Hair pin

Wanted to try and make something out of paper so I tried making a hair pin. I made all the individual parts out of paper and then glued them together. I also attached a few pieces of fabric cause why not.

"you're disconnected from the world you thought you were part of" tbh not sure about this one but kdj not seeing himself as a "character" that belongs in twsa therefore disconnected (i don't think he thought he was part of it anyways) -> WAIT could be kdj thinking he knew everything about twsa until he realized he doesn't

"When you pass through the veil of fantasy, there's a world with a rhythm for you and me" basically him immersing himself in fiction in general (there's a world with a rhythm for you and me -> twsa being doksoo's world that they built tgt...a story only for them)

Last song you listened to (with Lyrics): U is such an engaging challenge to sing. I haven't quite mastered it yet, but I love it. The English dub singer is very talented.

Last song you listened to (instrumental): From Season 4 of The Dragon Prince. It's the saddest, most beautiful cello! 🥲

Last book you read: Currently in the middle of the last book in Brandon Sanderson's Skyward series (Defiant). I fell hard for this story and it's tiny, angry protagonist (I love you Spensa). I also just finished The Stepford Wives for my book club (a short interesting read).

Last fic you read: Does my own count? I have such a big chunk written now, that sometimes I like to go back and reread bits I haven't seen in months. Just for fun, or for comfort, to know that I still enjoy what I wrote, so hopefully others will too. I'm not currently reading too many other fics, I'm trying to concentrate on my own.

Last movie you watched: The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar. It's a short film (40 minutes) by Wes Anderson based on a Roald Dahl story. It was, of course, quirky and unique. I liked it. It's on Netflix.

Last TV show you watched: The Investigation. It's a Danish miniseries (subtitled). It's a fictionalized version of a true crime case where a man murdered a woman journalist on his personal submarine. I'd never seen a Danish show before. I liked that it didn't show any of the violence (because it was gruesome), just the human impact the case had. It was interesting to see how their court system differs from ours.

Do you prefer sweet / spicy / or savory: Probably savory... can I add sour to that? I buy so many lemons every week to cook with.

Relationship status: Happily married (no children). I adore my husband! Kissing him is my favorite. (If you're ever wondering what my inspiration is for my romance writing.)

Last thing I Googled: "Funny attempts at flirting" I was working on a scene for my fic and got stuck. I think I finally figured it out though (thank you reddit).

Current obsession: Baking. I went almost a decade with an oven that barely worked. The oven in my new apartment is awesome. So now I'm buying cake mixes, looking up recipes for biscuits and scones, and I'm thinking of making a foccacia cast iron pizza for Valentine's Day.

A thing I'm looking forward to: My new apartment has a little flower bed on the porch. I've been looking at flower seed catalogs, even though it's still covered in snow right now.

Concept Illustration/Splash Art for Color Your Judgment: Chapter 1 — younger Aamon, Ariadne’s “paint-splattered apron”, plus some details and initial sketches that I love 🥹

I tried a more semi-realistic style with this one because I wanted it to look like it’s an artwork from the official in-game lore 😆

Some notes:

• Aamon’s just eighteen here and not yet the Duke of Aberleen—of course he doesn’t have his scar nor his resting mean face yet 😆

• I purposely drew him at the right-side angle of his face (where he won’t have the scar later on) to symbolize and represent this ‘other’ side of his—the Aamon before all that’s happened in his life, the Aamon that used to be free, the Aamon that “he could have been” (cc: Aamon’s in-game lore).

• Notice how he’s still got a little bit of his cheeks 🥹 Current Aamon has cheekbones and a jawline so sharp it could wound me.

• Look at that smile on his face 🥹 I wanted it to look like a smile that’s just bloomed, and I wanted his general expression to look like someone who’s just realized he’s actually having fun, and maybe falling in love just a little bit. Nevermind that it took me two hours to draw just to capture what’s supposed to look like a captivated or enthralled face lol

• His shirt! I absolutely love those loose white undershirts that noblemen wear. I just had to do this for me 😩

• That paintbrush stuck in Ariadne’s hair to pin it into a bun LOL resourceful queen

A: ahahaha… so I have this ambitious project… where I intend to include a concept illustration/splash art for each chapter… so ahahaha… I’ve been drawing instead of actually writing…

Library trip.

Took the trip to the library to find children’s books. We have to study and then recreate them so I wanted to find something I found interesting, I also wanted to venture outside my comfort zone so I ended up with all water color books.

Some honourable mentions I didn’t take with me.

The books I chose are full of some really pretty water color landscapes so it will be interesting to study them.
