Wow, I can't believe it's already the second week of March. Took a bit of a break from writing daily since my mental health took a dip. I've added a new feature to my bullet journal: daily water intake graphic to make sure I stay hydrated!

Day 8: What's my take on feminism? I wish people would understand that feminism is about gender equality. Not one gender superior to all others. Just like anti-racism isn't about one oppressed race being superior to all other races that exist. Encouraging people to uplift and support female-identifying folks. I say 'female-identifying' because we just had J.K. Rowling pop off the timeline and demonstrate how far we still have to go when it comes to what identities form part of our feminist conversations. And remember that feminism was a concept founded by white scholars. It took scholars like Patricia Hill Collins, Bell Hooks, and Audre Lorde - just to name a few - to discuss the concept of intersectionality and voice the experiences of BIPOC individuals navigating multiple intersecting identities and their resistance against patriarchal systems. This allowed for feminist theory and scholarly work to expand more diversely, though again, the work is far from over. I'm curious as to what other folks' thoughts are!
