I'm about to bid farewell to my twenties and welcome my thirties. hh

Just like how I felt when I turned twenty, I think there's a special feeling coming to me now as I prepare to turn 30 soon, with the first digit of my age changing. I am afraid but also excited, but it also feels like I'm developing a sense of responsibility and the desire for more.

That's why I wanted to create a song that cheers on me and everyone who feels that same special feeling as me. That was how this song started.

My friend and composer Seo Donghwan, who is of the same age as me and experiencing similar times, started creating this powerful cheering song, and this song contains the lyrics of songwriter KENZIE who has been closely watching my music career in my twenties, contains my twenties seen through KENZIE's eyes, and contains my and our feelings towards the welcoming of our thirties.

A Memory of Trip to Tsushima in 2013

왜인지 모르겠지만 대마도를 떠올리면 항상 기분이 좋다. 머물렀던 기간은 굉장히 짧았던 편이고 그나마도 벌써 4년이 다 되어가지만 그 시간을 떠올리면 저절로 입가에 미소가 지어진다. 

대마도를 찾았던 것은 2013년 가을의 끝 무렵이다. 당시 나는 첫 직장을 그만둔 상태로, 아침 일찍 카페에 출근해 책을 읽거나 영어 공부를 하는 것을 일상으로 삼은 여유로운 백수였다. 첫 직장에서의 야근 스트레스를 모두 방출할 기세로 매일 매일을 베짱이 같은 모양으로 흘려 보내던 중 친구로부터 제안 받은 것이 바로 우리나라에서 가장 가까운 일본인 대마도 여행이었다. 

서울역에서 밤기차를 타고 새벽에 부산에 도착해서 미래고속의 코비를 타고 1시간 반. 그렇게해서 도착한 대마도의 첫 인상은 매우 강렬했다. 눈이 부실만큼 파란 하늘과 맑은 바다는 기분 탓인지 한국에서 보던 풍경과 사뭇 달라 보였다. 이 첫 인상 때문일까. 지금까지도 나에게 대마도는 시리도록 눈부신 맑은 하늘의 이미지 이다. 그 하늘 위로 솔개가 비행하는 풍경은 평생 서울살이를 해 온 나에게는 신비스러울 만치 아름다웠던 기억이 난다.

멋 모르고 입사해서 많은 것을 배우고 또 많은 어려움을 겪기도 했던 첫 직장을 그만둔 20대 초반의 고민거리를 나는 그 아름다운 풍경 속에 많이 내려놓고 돌아왔던 것 같다. 그래서 이렇게 모든 것이 생생하게 기억이 나나 보다. 우연히 들어간 밥집에서 시켰던 야끼카레의 진한 향기와 오징어 잡이 배의 불빛을 보기위해 늦은 저녁에 힘들게 올라갔던 가파른 언덕길, 편의점에서 술을 잔뜩 사가지고 호텔에 돌아와 일본 방송을 보며 친구와 밤새 떠들다 잠들었던 일이 마치 어제 있었던 일 처럼 또렷하게 생각난다.

아마도 그 곳에는 우리의 반짝이던 청춘의 한 조각이 걸려 있지 않을까.
