I LOVE Ahn Hyo Seop but when I see people say that they loved the second season of Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim over the first one I automatically become disgusted. LOL SAME goes for when people say they preferred the second season of Go Go Waikiki over the first one.... just feels tasteless. (THIS IS JUST MY OPINION no harm to you if you prefer the second seasons)

으라차차 와이키키 - 이준기 

I know this portrait is not really fully done. I had been taking my own sweet time doing up this portrait up till today. When I opened up Illustrator, it said that that was the last time I would be able to launch Illustrator so I tried to hurry up and finish the portrait immediately. Apparently my school’s adobe subscription had expired?? Looks like I’ll have to go back to using Inkscape. T-T I thought I had more time to make use of all the adobe softwares I wanted to learn to use. Oh well it was fun while it lasted. 

I have been feeling kind of frustrated lately because my vector portraits are just not turning out as nicely as I would have wanted. So I went and binged watched all the tutorials which I have already watched. I made this portrait in a style used in one of the tutorials I watched. Not sure how I feel about this one but I think the face turned out pretty decently? 

Welcome to Waikiki has been my #1 favourite Korean drama ever since I watched it. When it comes to kdramas, my go to genre is definitely comedy. I just love comedy dramas. Unfortunately I feel like comedy cdramas are hard to find. So I turn to kdramas for that. However, the thing that I hate about kdramas is that even with comedy dramas, there tends to always be some kind of heavy / non-lighthearted themes in it. Be it a traumatic childhood experience or a serial murderer on the loose or some other unhappy stuff. It’s like they can’t just make a comedy drama and keep it a lighthearted drama. Like why WHY do you have to add in all that heavy stuff that just kills off the entire lighthearted mood of the drama? Why would you do that? 

And this is exactly why I LOVE Waikiki. It’s just full on pure comedy. And I’m all for that. It’s everything I could have ever asked for in a comedy drama. On top of that, Waikiki is just a breath of much needed fresh air in kdrama land. For once, there’s no chaebol, there’s no successful young people living a rich, comfortable, lavish life. This drama shows that one does not need to be rich, or working a high-paying job to live a happy contented live. As long as you have your family and friends there to support you through thick and thin, people who will encourage you to do your best, who will help you laugh out the tough times, it’s not that hard to be happy and enjoy your life. 

Also, Lee Yi Kyung was on Knowing Brothers a while back and I recently watched that episode. It seems like his life isn’t that different from his character Jun Ki’s life in the drama. In the drama we see that even though Jun Ki’s father is rich and a successful actor, he tries his best to survive and grow successful as an actor out of his own merit without using his father’s name as a tool to become successful. He goes through his own struggles instead of just depending on his father. Lee Yi Kyung mentioned on KB that he tried to become an successful actor without fully depending on his rich father to support him in his journey to do so. (at least that’s what he said anyway, regarding how true it is, I wouldn’t know). Apparently his father used to be the CEO of LG O.o

I watched the 2nd season of Welcome to Waikiki and I might’ve enjoyed it more than the first in some ways? In some ways it wasn’t as good but in some ways it was and I need to now rewatch both seasons back to back
