I haven't been up on my Drama Dossiers because I haven't been watching dramas lately - I got my PS4 and have plowed through almost 10 games in the past 3 months

Which also got me a teensy bit back into anime

So I'm rewatching OHSHC Karneval, Code Geass, Kamisama Kiss, Star Driver that I never finished....

I've also started IDOLiSH7, BNA, and who knows what else

BUT

I did finally start a drama again!! I've been meaning to watch Hotel del Luna and when nothing else fit the bill I finally was in the mood while cooking to be like "wth I just need something to watch" and put it on

I'm not gripped and gluing myself to the screen for it (I would normally be if I wasn't in a drama slump) but I love it so far and I plan to keep watching so

We'll see if my drama fatigue has faded or not

I can't believe I forgot how everything in Introverted Boss goes down...still in the middle of a rewatch but let me tell you I dislike all the characters except Ro Woon, Hwan Gi, and the Silent Monster team. (And can we exclude Se Jeong? His intense obliviousness and thoughtlessness grates on me.)

Yeon Jeong is immature AF and I'm not really sure how show gets away with her placing the blame squarely on him for their estrangement. Yes, he should've spoken up and said, "Wow, I feel so embarrassed and hurt" - BUT WHO THE F**K BRINGS OTHER PEOPLE TO HEAR SOMEONE'S LOVE CONFESSION????

If the person themselves was choosing to confess publicly that's one thing, but saying, "What? No, I wanted to show you off" is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Yeon Jeong smirks and simpers and is just generally immature and annoying in the present day, but it seems she was even worse in the past. "Showing him off" is all well and good if you *put the other person first*. But nope, she acts territorial, treats him like an object, and is like "oh, he's popular, he's confessing to me, better bring all the girls to watch so they know he's MINE."

It's about the conflict for her, about winning, and not really about Hwan Gi. She may like him to an extent, but her actions don't demonstrate caring about him at all. From the beginning she complains that all her friends got married while she was abroad so she wants someone to play with; and she constantly intentionally provokes Ro Woon. Not merely in a "I'm not going to give up way" but insulting her by calling her a little girl, immaturely goading her saying "Oh, Hwan Gi sat next to me and not you oooooh" and asking Hwan Gi who of the two he would rather kiss. Like, WTF, lady? She's very much about dominating the competition, all about what she wants, and maybe .0000000000000001 about what Hwan Gi actually wants.

I should think the fact that he's been kissing Ro Woon for the past two or three days should count for something, but Hwan Gi just refuses to answer the question at all, and he doesn't even try to put a stop to Yeon Jeong's childish provocations.

I think show wanted to write a slightly spoiled immature woman who wants to rekindle an old flame, but it ended up making her more annoying and selfish than sympathetic. Which wouldn't be a problem if she wasn't supposed to be sympathetic.

Seriously, I have zero sympathy. "Wanted to show him off" my ass. Want us to sympathize with her or like her? Then don't make her a complete and total ass. Don't write off her flaws - make her face them.

i made the mistake of starting Born Again without actually looking into what kind of drama it was....I knew it was sort of mystery? and reincarnation?

but I got what i deserved because what did i expect from a mystery-reincarnation drama really? the first four episodes are pain and suffering and makjang and I just don’t know if I’m going to like how it all turns out

Here’s the next Drama Dossier! Sorry it’s late - between trying to attend all the Beyond Live concerts in May which means I have to sleep on Saturday, and also Saturday being our grocery shopping day AND having stretched my left hamstring and busted my right knee - I’ve gotten a little off track. Plus I’ve been playing PS4 a lot because I’ve already beaten BBS, Aqua’s story and am in DDD now.

If there’s one thing Meow, The Secret Boy demonstrates it’s that communication, truly, is key - however trite that phrase may sound. Everyone has the responsibility to try and communicate with others. That means cat-like people need to learn to express their needs in a way others can understand, and that dog-like people need to take the time to be quiet, listen, and pay attention for communication that isn’t as overt as their own.
