uhh well to put it simply, QB tells no lies. he’s an official Incubator that does upright business in an under-appreciated job that strives to keep your world safe. yeah true okay so he leaves a few things out here and there but really, it’s justified and with good intentions because anything’s better than the death of the universe, right—

§ I won’t name any names, but what do you humans think we’re doing this for? §

§ Certainly not for our own amusement. It took a long and detailed process before we determined that the energy harvested from young prepubescent girls maximized our gains while minimizing losses. §

§ From what I understand, most of you seem to take issue with the fact that I don’t tell the full story when giving out my contracts. And it’s true, I tend to keep things to myself unless I’m asked. There’s a simply reasoning behind that, really. §

§ We’re dealing with emotionally volatile, mentally developing subjects that tend to change moods at the drop of a hat. Why do you think they make such good Witches? They lose control of their feelings—and by extension themselves—all too easily. Sparing them from the unfortunate details of their eventual fate shields them from unnecessary trauma that could affect their work. It also saves me the effort of finding another contractor if my first choice preemptively refuses me. §

§ You have to understand, my main goal is to prevent the heat death of the Universe, not coddle creatures whose lifespans amount to a mere afterthought in the cosmos. I might be efficient in making contracts, but my job is still a constant race against time to delay the inevitable. What’s a few ignorant deaths along the way if it ensures the continued existence of 7 billion others? §

§  If that’s still too hard to accept, you should trying looking at it from the perspective of statistics. For a modest sacrifice of one life here and there, the majority profit without having to pay a thing. Even the contractor herself gets to live the life of her dreams after making a wish. How many of you can say with absolute certainty that your life will go just the way you want before you die off, too? §

back in the madokaverse QB has enough telepathy to gleam girls’ names from their heads, but he still needs time to study their lives, preferences, dreams, and desires before striking at the perfect moment.

stalking is the easiest way to find that out, and over the course of millenia he’s worked out a rhythm from tailing a girl on her daily routine to spying on her family and friends. still, though a creature of logic, he’s gotten used to relying on his instincts and intuition to find a girl that ‘clicks’ so as to save him some time. (it’s not always potential that guarantees a contract by the end of day!)

ofc QB doesn't call it intuition, but 'a series of predicted outcomes based on exhibited patterns of prior behaviors,' but it can't be denied that he's acquired a 6th sense for choosing good prospects. 

ironically, that’s probably the closest he’s gotten to 'feeling' anything.
