Un sabato pomeriggio

speso bene

A volte ci sono storie che meritano di essere raccontate. Lo capiamo solo dopo.

Quando comprendiamo che la scintilla iniziale, quella luce da cui ci siamo fatti guidare, seguendo la nostra intuizione, era fondata.

Nel mio caso, tutto è iniziato da un articolo della stampa locale. Un articolo apparso su CesenaToday, un sito web, che si occupa di dare informazioni e portare all'attenzione di tutti, le iniziative, gli eventi e molte delle manifestazioni del territorio, tutto ciò che accade - insomma - nel Cesenate e nei Comuni della vallata del Savio.

Riporto di seguito il testo dell'articolo, che avevo letto alcuni giorni fa :

Di notizie di questo tipo, sulla stampa e in Rete, ne appaiono decine, ogni giorno, eppure, in questo caso, qualcosa deve avermi colpito ad un livello più profondo della semplice curiosità.

Sarà che anche io, durante gli anni del Liceo Classico, mi sono appassionato alla pittura da autentico autodidatta, dopo che ho conosciuto le opere di Van Gogh e di Gustav Klimt! Sarà che il disegno, fin dalle scuole Elementari, era una delle attività preferite...

E così dai disegni a matita e coi pastelli, ero passato ai primi lavori a tempera (colori acrilici) e poi ai primi quadri su legno e alle prime tele ad olio.

Sarà che il mondo dell'Arte, mi ha sempre attratto e incuriosito...

Sarà che dopo l'aggressione russa all'Ucraina del 24 febbraio 2022, ho sempre fatto il tifo per il popolo ucraino e ho partecipato a diverse iniziative di volontariato, per inviare aiuti e soldi, agli ospedali di Leopoli e Kyiv, sia per dare supporto ai bambini e ragazzi universitari e alle madri ucraine fuggite dal proprio paese e arrivate in italia, nei primi mesi di questa assurda guerra, scatenata dal sanguinario dittatore di Vladimir Putin...

Sarà anche che io sono sempre stato affascinato della storia di chi è costretto ad abbandonare la propria Patria a causa di una guerra e a reinventarsi una vita.

Saranno stati tutti questi motivi assieme, ma qualcosa mi ha spinto a voler visitare la Mostra di questa artista ucraina, che grazie all'aiuto concreto del Comune di Mercato Saraceno è riuscita a coronare uno dei suoi sogni e presentare al pubblico parte dei suoi lavori.

Oggi alle 16, quindi, sono andato a Mercato Saraceno, a questo piccolo-grande evento : l'inaugurazione della Mostra di pittura di Kira Kharchenko.

E così, in un pomeriggio piovoso di metà febbraio, mi son trovato ad essere investito dall'energia dei quadri di questa ragazza che giunta in Italia, per colpa della guerra, ha intrapreso un percorso scolastico nel nostro paese, iscrivendosi al Liceo Artistico di Forlì.

Conversando con Kira, è diventato chiaro come il suo soggiorno in Italia sia stata anche una svolta della sua vita. Nel giro di appena due anni, ha infatti imparato ad esprimersi nella nostra lingua e ha cominciato un percorso artistico importante, adottando la tecnica dei colori ad olio.

Ma la cosa, ancora più importante è che Kira in questi anni è riuscita a portare avanti un progetto personale di grande valore:imparare ad esprimere grazie alla Pittura e al disegno il proprio mondo interiore fatto di idee e sentimenti.

Cosi come ha scoperto l'importanza della Filosofia come strumento per leggere il mondo e comunicare le idee che ci guidano nella vita.

Ciò che infatti colpisce di questa ragazza è il fatto che una sua opera, qualsiasi sua opera, parte sempre da uno stato d'animo, una riflessione, una emozione profonda. Tutti i suoi quadri, sono un mezzo per fare arrivare un messaggio legato alle emozioni e al mondo dei propri sentimenti.

È sufficiente allora, leggere le didascalie che accompagnano le sue tele per immergersi nel mondo interiore di Kira, continuamente in bilico fra pensieri cupi e paure legate alle minacce che ha portato la guerra nel suo paese, e la sua forza di volontà che la sorregge e la porta a credere alla speranza e a un futuro migliore, più umano e orientato al valore della Libertà.

Un futuro dove ogni sentimento trova la forza di emergere per esprimere la propria umanità.

Ed ecco che visitare la sua esposizione significa leggere molte delle pagine del suo personalissimo "romanzo di formazione".

È un pò come leggere il libro che Kira crescendo e prendendosi responsabilità del tutto nuove, sta scrivendo in questi anni.

Ci sono pagine chiare, luminose, abbaglianti che tuttavia non cancellano i momenti bui e i colori più cupi che esprimono le paure e le preoccupazioni.

Ma Kira ha dalla sua parte, due energie incredibili: è guidata da due stelle polari.

La sua fede religiosa ( kira è ortodossa) e la forza del dialogo ininterotto che lei stessa, ha con la propria anima.

Un confronto fertile con se stessa, con la persona che è e con il mondo dei propri pensieri, oltre che con i pensieri eterni, quelli validi in tutte le epoche, quelli che per comodità, noi indichiamo col termine "FILOSOFIA".

Perchè Kira non è soltanto una pittrice.

È prima di tutto una filosofa, una persona riflessiva che esprime le sue convinzioni profonde, le sue visioni, il modo di percepire la realtà, attraverso il linguaggio potente che è la Pittura.

Prossimamente dedicherò uno o più Post ai suoi quadri.

Per oggi, sono felice di aver partecipato a questa Mostra, di aver conosciuto questa promettente artista ucraina e aver iniziato a comprendere il suo linguaggio pittorico.

Piu di tutto, credo che il suo mondo interiore, la potenza del linguaggio che ha scelto, la profondità del suo modo di esprimere i sentimenti con immagini potenti e insieme, piene di armonia e grazia, ne fa un talento precocissimo, dal grande potenziale .

Literally no English-speaking people know this so I wanna share because I think it's the funniest shit ever

Y'know the quote "russian warship, go fuck yourself" that a Ukrainian guy said on the Snake Island? It became very popular among Ukrainians and was referenced in many other countries.

Ukrainians designed lots of merchandise with it, like stamps and patches, a lot of which was directed at charity early on. Then somebody made this:

The design aims to make the word "go" resemble the Ukrainian trident (coat of arms)

However, at some point people started using it without the russian warship part a lot more often. So I present to you this "patriotic mug", "patriotic pendant", and a "patriotic pillow" all of which say "go fuck yourself"

the full phrase was also very commonly displayed on billboards uncensored... there were a lot more important things to worry about other than keeping street ads appropriate lol

United24 is the official fundraising platform established by President Zelenskyy and other Ukrainian governmental members and directs money to all areas of the country.

The Olena Zelenska Foundation is primarily focused on medical, humanitarian, and educational aid across the country and was founded by the First Lady.

Stand for Ukraine gives you a range of charity options, depending on whether you want to donate directly to the military, or you would prefer to fund non-lethal or humanitarian aid, etc.

Come Back Alive is the main fundraising platform for the Ukrainian military. You can choose to donate to air defense, heavy weapons, demining, medical aid, overall combat equipment, etc.

Donate to Ukraine's Defenders also offers various (carefully vetted) links and options to donate to rebuilding projects, private medical assistance programs, initiatives for democracy, and others.

While it’s not wrong to be irritated with many dems and liberals, I think we as leftists really need to remember that the right desperately wants us divided and safe governments exist because of compromise. Don’t let russian bots and uninformed radicals trick you into making an enemy of other progressives.

Talk to people in person, go to meetings and protests and get to know the real local people resisting, censorship is awful and this is going to be far more important than any internet argument.

Next site, the Chocolate House in Kyiv. It's an 18th-century Venetian Renaissance style building that is considered to be an architectural monument. It's named after its dark chocolate color, & it has a beautiful interior. It's now a museum.

hi everyone. i wanted to take a moment to speak about something that matters deeply, beyond fanfics and art and stories — something real, something urgent.

as most of you know, this community has connected me with some of the most incredible people i’ve ever met. one of them is @liddy333 — someone kind, thoughtful, insanely talented, and so full of light, even while navigating darkness most of us can’t imagine. she’s from ukraine, and she’s let me share a little of her story to help raise awareness about what’s still happening there.

while many of us go about our daily routines, war still rages on in ukraine. and i don’t mean it metaphorically — i mean air raids, bombs, drones, exploding buildings. i mean cities going dark, homes without water or electricity, and the terrifying reality of never knowing if the next siren means you have to run for your life. this isn’t history — this is now.

liddy, despite everything, shows up for the people around her with such grace and strength. her mom is currently in the hospital undergoing treatment, and liddy is being forced to leave germany — where she had built a small sense of stability — to return to ukraine, because of impossible legal and logistical challenges. she’s scared. she’s overwhelmed. and still, she’s surviving. she’s been living through war, family struggles, and mental health battles all at once — and she’s doing it with more resilience than anyone should be asked to have.

i’m sharing this because i think we forget. we forget what others are going through in the background of our digital lives. we forget that beyond our dramas, our deadlines, our creative projects — there are people just like us who are trying to survive in literal warzones. people who have to choose between safety and family. between a future and a home.

liddy’s story is one of millions. but her voice, her courage, and her ability to still be present and kind and vulnerable… it moved me to my core. and i think it might move you too.

so this is your reminder: stay aware. stay informed. care. educate yourself about ukraine. uplift the voices of those living through it. offer help if you can. and most importantly — never, ever take peace for granted.

Next site, is Ukrainian artist Mykola Kornylovych Pymonenko (Микола Корнилович Пимоненко). He was born in 1862 in Priorka, a village near Kyiv. He studied at the Kyiv Art School and later in St. Petersburg at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts and at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. He returned to Kyiv in 1884 due to poor health. He possibly suffered from tuberculosis. He did find work teaching drawing and art. He also helped decorate St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Kyiv in 1897. He passed away in 1912 after an illness.
