There’s actually not much to analyze about this chapter ‘cause it’s simply well said. So I’ll be sharing my thoughts & feelings. This chapter has such a warm (with a hint of sad) end to a rollercoaster of an arc

Oof my dear boy here needs to rest

I do kinda feel bad for Endo. In a way, he just has this longing and slow burn love for Chika and he just knew he can’t be seen by him the same way he sees Umemiya; being accepted in his world.

Endo gives him everything while he receives nothing (but punches and kicks).

No wait. This is adorable. TF. Endo expects a good hit from Chika but was ecstatic when the kick was harmless. Chika didn’t even give one hit but multiple soft hits??!! STAHP! That’s too cute.

The way Chika's fist froze when Endo mentioned a hot bath 🥲 He's tired af and being babied by Endo 😭

This confirms all the things he said to Sakura about Umemiya is his negative perspective of him. He DETESTS and is jealous of the guy who’s able to be in his Chika’s world.

Now…this is sad.

Something tells me Chika had a really bad experience with people at a very young age…or maybe had none at all :(

Maybe links to his probable face blindness. People who have such condition are usually mistaken to be cold or indifferent towards people, but it's because they have a hard time remembering people's faces. Although, in here, it sounds like his indifference to humans makes him develop face blindness. So I hope we get to hear more of Chika’s past in their talk.

Ah, there’s our Umemiya.

Come to think of it, since his biological family died, Umemiya was exposed to people from different walks of like who are not his blood since he was 9. He has grown and absorbed a vast world for 8-9yrs.

And he could truly tell Chika how amazing it is.

Without even realizing it, Chika actually made the first step to expanding his world. It started from the moment he accepted Umemiya. He even said Ume’s name before Ume told him this trick.

And now that he is aware of it, Chika looks like he decided to accept more people in his world, little by little.

(For some reason, maybe it's because his hair is drenched wet, but he looks lost here 🥺)

I SCREAMED. I knew it. And I’m not even an endochika stan. Oh Endo. Chika has acknowledged him 😫AND A FULL NAME!

(I actually thought we’ll have something dramatic like Togame & Choji crying scene but i dont think it’s ready for that lol)

Tsubaki collapsed in relief, cutie Choji cheering, and Bofurin, Shishitoren and Roppo Ichiza together rejoicing 🥹and our Class 1-1 are okay 😭

No words were said but that smile and gesture says a lot. Both leaders didn’t lose. They kept each other's promises.

Umemiya is thankful, happy, and proud of Sakura. Not only for winning and being there for him, but for becoming the person he is now. He is glad his kouhai part of the found family, Bofurin 🥹💚

And we got a double COLOR spread of the two!! 😭😭😭 Thank you Nii sensei! This is beautiful 💚

I hope they get to talk after ALL that. Sakura was a bit shaken up in seeing Umemiya like that and I'm sure he has questions about what Endo meant. Either way, I'm sure Umemiya would want to chat with Sakura about his fight with Endo.

Side note: I LOVE the silly exchange between Umemiya and Endo 🤣most especially reading those small text beside the dialogue bubbles.

I can hear the sarcasm in the “since you didn’t even give half a sht about me before” 🤣🤣🤣

Ah what an end to a great long arc! What a wild ride that was. Hope we get that BBQ! All of them (us included) deserve it 😭

ARC Book Review: The Wrong Family by Ellery Kane

My Review: I found the author’s idea of having the protagonist use an ancestry service to track down her father interesting. I haven’t read a book yet that had that kind of plot. Then I saw in the synopsis of this book that she embeds herself within her new family after meeting her supposed father. All sorts of happenings ensue, and then we learn that she isn’t really the daughter of the man she thought to be her father. The story is listed as a thriller and mystery online; however, I didn’t see it as such. It felt like a comedy, frankly. I found the characters quirky, and the storyline filled with so many secrets and family disputes that I think the only time it turned serious to me was when someone ended up dead almost halfway through the book. I found the protagonist to be bratty, unlikeable, and a bit hypocritical. Now granted, I know she had a rough upbringing, but she had a lot going on in her adult life, and I found it hard to accept her being upset with her new family’s secrets when she harbored so much of her own. Overall, there wasn’t anything spectacular about the book. Still, I do like the story's bones, finding your long-lost relative and trying to root oneself into a family to have a sense of belonging.

"I'm glad, too. I thought getting my memories back would reveal some horrible past, but with what little I know now I... I'm not as afraid anymore."

[Ursula smiles a little before she pulls away, taking her phone out of her pocket as she does so.]

"We should keep in touch. I'd like to help you find more of your memories."

"Of course!"

[The two quickly exchange phone numbers, right as Kori decides it's time to pull Ursula away.]

"Ready to go?"

"...I suppose."

[The pair then both give Ruby and Cerrin a "See you later!" and a wave as they walk off. Ruby and Cerrin wave as well, after which she turns to him.]

"So, what'd you think?"

"It went a lot smoother than I thought it would... And I got a sister out of it, haha!"

"Good! Maybe she'll be able to help with your memories better than Koa and I can."

[The two then walk off as well, heading back to their home to just chill. Meanwhile...]

"Was I right, or was I right?"

"Yes, you were... Cerrin said things that I've never told anyone, that only he and I would remember. I have no doubt in my mind that he's my brother."

"Good! I'm glad you finally found him, Urs. Wait 'til your parents--"

"I have no plans to tell my parents."

"Huh? But I thought you'd want to rub how wrong they were in their faces?"

"If they found out he's alive, they would try to take both of us back underground. I don't want that for either of us, and I'm sure Cerrin would feel the same."

🔨 - Of the unfinished arcs and loose threads in the Dream SMP right now, which one would you want continue yourself and how would you do it?

I'm taking Serenity and using it to transform c!Michael into a main character everyone will care about. With enough power, I could make the fandom throw more money at cc!Michael too for extra quality. He'll get people to talk, and there will be good music to come with it too. Of all the plot lines with lost if not losing potential, I am throwing a defibrillator on this one.

⚖ - Between the didactic, moralistic writing and the more entertainment-centric, plot-driven writing found in the various arcs and storylines in the Dream SMP, which one is better written? Which one should also be given more importance when it comes to writing lore?

The latter is certainly better written, and from what I observed, the kind of writing most of the CCs tend to focus on since it gets more attention. It's flashy and easy to bait and leaves the most room for fanwork. Both should be given importance, as the effectivity of both styles are, imo, dependent on each other. The writing as of now, I think, needs to be more delicate regarding its more didactic writing. It could use more work.

📖 - What do you think are Quackity's genuine intentions with the Revival Book?

Okay I put off post this for a while bc I had a hard time answering this question. Going with my understanding of c!Quackity, I think the guy himself isn't sure what to do with it. All he knows is that it works and therefore important to possess. By possessing it, he can possess a new power and treat the book as a token of political power. He can utilize the book's actual benefits should he believe he needed to. Whatever its for, he's getting that book for the pursuit of safety for everyone he cares about (assuming there are still peoplw by his side once he gets it) and himself.

will keep her safe. Nobody will touch what’s mine. Not as long as a draw breath on this cursed planet.

Vadim spots Daisy from across the room, standing out like a sore thumb. It’s possessive-at-first-sight. And then he has no choice, the universe has chosen his fate. He tries his damnedest to keep distance between them. Makes sure they’re separated, but never letting her stray far. For a while, leaving gifts in her apartment is enough for him (yes, you read that correctly). He leaves her books, opera tickets. I mean, if he wasn’t some strange man in her apartment, Daisy really found herself a catch! When the truth about who she is comes to light, keeping her at arm’s length is no longer an option for Vadim. Then, it’s time for him to catch up on lost time. He loves that Daisy is too sweet and innocent for him, Mr. Big Tough Russian Killing Machine. He’ll change that though..Once he gets his hands on her, there’s no going back. I could look past the stalker bits (it’s fictional, and he was overly sweet about it). It’s the dominating things that I frowned upon. No safe words? Going zero to one hundred without truly getting her comfortable with the situation. Things like that shouldn’t be looked over, no matter how fictional the text. But that’s a me problem, not author or reader issue!

Gonna try to answer these with no spoilers!

❤️: Power is Best Girl! She's very funny and entertaining, and I enjoy just how different she is from your typical supporting female character.

💔: Himeno really squicks me out with her whole coming-onto-teenagers thing. I really wish it was at least handled more seriously in the manga, if not taken out entirely. It ruins her whole character for me, which is a shame because otherwise she's really neat!

💕: Platonic Denji and Power! They're so cute, and I'm so happy that they stayed platonic the entire manga!

📖: The Bomb Girl arc is my favorite arc! I really enjoyed Reze as a character and her relationship with Denji, and Beam and Aki & Angel also had some great moments!

🚫: Not really, since I tend to stay away from the toxic sides of all fandoms.

📺: I really wish we got an actual trailer instead of a pre-animated trailer, as well as a release date, but I'm still really excited! I don't think we have anything to worry about, and I'm sure it'll be a good adaptation!

👺: Bomb Girl was able to do a lot with her powers! From detatching and exploding any part of her body, to forming her limbs into various explosives.

👤: I'd probably be a human with a Devil friend, like Denji and Pochita at the very beginning

🫀: My top favorite scene would probably have to be the dumpster scene with Power and Denji because of how cute yet bittersweet it was.

As for quotes, it's this scene in the Eternity Devil arc:

✏️: It's in my top 3, next to Tokyo Ghoul and Noragami!

🧠: I actually technically read it when it first came out. Chapter 1 came out right after Tokyo Ghoul had ending, and the whole TG fandom was looking for a new manga and tried out Chainsaw Man. I kept up for several weeks and enjoyed the start, but I slowly lost interest during the slow pace of the Bat Devil Arc. Then I didn't read it for a few years until I decided to catch up. With much more story to get to, I ended up liking and appreciating the story a lot more than when I first tried it.

📚: Since CSM, I've read a chapter or two of Fire Punch and intend to finish it one day, and I've read most of his one-shots, like "Yogen no Nayuta" and "Niwa ni wa niwa niwatori ga ita", which is named after a japanese tongue twister.

🌼: To have the level of determination that Denji does, as well as his unique but effective approach to problems

💭: I hope to see Quanxi make some appearances, Reze to show up and go to school with Denji, and lots of cute found family content with single dad Denji, Nayuta, and their cat and dogs.

🖤: I think that other anime female characters are prettier than Makima is. Even in Chainsaw Man, I think Quanxi and Reze are prettier than she is, so I don't quite get the extreme level of simping for her

🤍: ALL OF THEM. Denji and Aki especially, but even Makima herself deserved better than what she became

🤡: The Himeno scenes with Denji and underage Aki were pretty uncomfortable and the comedic framing made it worse

💲: I'm more than content with the two we got. Aki would be fun to complete the family, and Makima's design would be really neat to have a figure of. And matching Reze and Quanxi figures with their respective hybrid forms to match the Denji nendroid would be awesome too!

📈: I'm pretty excited! I generally prefer watching to reading so I'm glad that people who may not like to or be able to easily read manga will get to experience the story, especially since the adaptation seems like it'll be faithful and well-animated. I'm totally going to force my anime-only friends to watch it when it airs! On the flip side, I'm certain the fanbase is going to be terrible, but like always I'll be sticking to the non-toxic sides

🌹: It's not really important to me in a personal way, but I appreciate and really enjoy all the symbolism and depth to the story, and I can't wait to see how much further it goes in Part 2. My favorite symbolism in the story is probably the Country Mouse vs City Mouse symbolism, because it was compared to so many characters as well as mice themselves.

👀: The running joke with Kobeni's car is hilarious, and I'll never get over just how fitting it is for Kobeni's character

[Ruby returns a few minutes later with everyone's food. The group eats in silence and after they've finished, Mochi hops into Ursula's lap, earning a soft headpat from her before she looks to Cerrin.]

"I've been meaning to ask -- Is there anything you remember clearly?"

"Not really... The most I get is what I can only assume are fuzzy memories, in my dreams..."

"...That's rough, buddy."

"Though now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the clearest one I've seen was like... The two of us were with a couple other kids our age, and you were, well, bragging about me. Then one of the other kids got angry with me and hit me, and I, uh..."

[Ursula pauses for a moment, before a small laugh escapes her.]

"Oh, I remember that! You tackled him to the ground, and I had to pull you off of him to get you to stop... Stop... Ah..."

"Whaling on him??"

[Ursula laughs again.]

"Yes, that."

"Wow, Cerrin, I never thought of you as the type to lash out like that."

"Well, the other boy was... upset that Cerrin was humble and modest about his abilities, and thought he had it easy..."

""Easy?" But judging from what you said before, it was th eexact opposite for both of you!"

"No kidding."

"Was that a normal thing? Me getting into fights, I mean..."

"In a way, yes. Other kids kind of shunned you, because they thought your humility was insincere. A lot of them started arguments with you, and while you never started any fights, you always finished them and were the one who got in trouble."

"Cod, I guess bullshit like that is just a universal constant, no matter where you went to school..."

"Is there anything else like that that I should know?"

[Ursula sighs, causing Mochi to warble in confusion before she pets his head again.]

"No. We've discussed the most important things I can think of. But, do you have more questions? I would be happy to answer them."

"Haha, no, not right now. All this is a little overwhelming..."

"Oh, alright..." [She carefully hands Mochi back to Cerrin.] "Did you want to stop for now?"

"That might be best..."

"Cyren, our parents were... um... They were..." 「Damn it, what's the word...?」

"Awful? Shitty? Abusive?"

"That's it... Abusive."

"I... How so?"

"Well... When either of us fell out of line, misbehaved, showed any kind of weakness or did anything they didn't like, Father would hit us. A lot."

"Are you serious...?"

"Mother never stopped him, she even seemed to agree with his actions, and you... You got the worst of it."

[Ursula sighs, a pained expression on her face.]

"Father was always disappointed in you. You see, he was... is a blue-ringed Octoling, and he expected us to be like him -- venomous and deadly. But, when he realized you were born without the ability to produce venom, he began treating you as if you were inferior. He pushed both of us harder than any child should ever be, but any time you cried or pleaded for help he just..."

[She falls silent, hesitant to continue...]

"...He just hit him harder, didn't he?"

[Ursula nods.]

"That explains why you never ask for help, even when you need it..."

"Y-Yeah..."

[Cerrin takes a moment to think, before he looks at Ursula.]

"Do you... think he caused this?"

[He then rolls up the sleeve of his shirt all the way to his shoulder, revealing a few faint, bluish scars that run across his left shoulder and down his arm a bit. Ursula's eyes widen.]

"When he left?"

[Ursula nods again.]

"The last time I heard his voice was when we were about to try and escape the underground. I was packing the last of my things when I heard him scream, but when I left my room to see what happened, he was already gone, and Father's claws were covered with what I can only guess was his venom and Cyren's blood..."

"Oh my cod..."

"So, he tried to poison his own kid? What a prick!"

[Cerrin rolls down his sleeve, a pensive look on his face. A moment passes before he speaks again.]

"Hey, uh.. This is probably really selfish of me, but, could I ask you one more thing?"

"What is it?"

[Cerrin sighs.]

"Could you... maybe not call me 'Cyren' anymore?"

"What...?"

"Heeeeey!! Kori, Ursula!"

[Ruby waves to the two Octolings, who are sitting at an outdoor cafe table just a little ways down the street. Cerrin is with her, carrying a sleeping Mochi in the small backpack he wore.]

"Ruby, you're attracting too much attenti--"

[Kori gets up at the sound of Ruby's voice, and excited look on her face as she pulls Ursula to her feet and over to Ruby and Cerrin.]

"See, see? I told you it'd be the guy from before!"

[Ursula gives her friend a skeptical look, before she looks over at Cerrin.]

"You..."

"Uh... hi?"

"You definitely look like him..."

"Um..."

"Hey, let's not do this here. Ursula and I got a table and everything, so we can chat there!"

[Ursula's head hangs a little, before she walks back toward the table. The other three follow in silence, all four sitting down as an uncomfortable air falls over them.]

"So, um... I think a reintroduction is in order..."

"I have a question for him, first."

[Cerrin adjusts Mochi's bag so it's safely on his lap.]

"Oh, uh, sure."

[Ursula sighs, before her focus shifts to him.]

"Before we came here, Kori told me your friend said that you lost your memories. Do you... remember anything from before the time you disappeared...?"

[Cerrin's gaze shifts downward. He's not sure where to start, or if he should mention the dreams he's been having. He looks back at Ursula after a moment.]

"Well... I believe your name is Ursula, and mine is Cyren. We're siblings, and, uh, I was being trained as a spy before the fight between Agent 3 and Octavio."

[Ursula's eyes widen a bit. There was no way a random stranger could know that. Hell, she hadn't even told Kori such details about her brother!]

"Go... Go on..."

"Sure, but... Could I ask you something now?"

"...Of course."

"So, I have this fuzzy... memory. Let's call it a memory. Anyway, I think it's of two kids, with ink colors the same as ours. The purple one seemed to be trying to protect the pink one from an angry adult. Do you have any explanation for that?"

[Ursula falls silent for a moment, a serious expression forming on her face.]

"I do, but I don't think you'll like it..."

Since I’m new to the fandom I figured I would give this a whirl.

⛄️: I actually appreciate Olaf’s humor more now that I’m older (get it?). The snowgies are cute even though I don’t like FF and Marshmallow is alright.

🎵: Call me boring but Let it Go is still my fave.

🎥: FF is pointless and unfunny imho, and OFA is kinda cute but they make Kristoff too much of a joke.

👖: I love it! Some of the added songs are even better than the ones in the movies and shorts! My dream is to see it on broadway or when it comes to my city. Also love that there’s a Kristanna duet.

✍️: @frozenwritingcorner has some really good ones! Tbh it’s hard for me to find good content, so if anyone has suggestions...

🎨: @comickergirl has some cute stuff! On the official side of things, Jim Kim has some beautiful concept art.

💭: I still think the Kristoff is Santa theory is hilarious, especially as it relates to ROTG and Klaus. I also love any and all ice bros headcanons cause we love a supportive sister. My fave new one is Kristoff teaching Anna how to climb and them hiking together because of that one scene in F2 where Anna climbs a cliff face. Also Kristoff is Sami that’s not a headcanon it’s just a fact they don’t discuss.

🌎: Canonverse.

💸: When it first came out I bought EVERY FROZEN THING I COULD FIND but now I’m a lot more chill with it lol. I don’t spend crazy amounts of money, but I’ll occasionally buy a shirt or something. I do have my eye on that Anna eyeshadow pallet and Hot Topic’s F2 line.

📖: I found a few of them online that were cute, but not regularly.

🕰: Well I saw Frozen opening weekend but had been following it ever since Disney announced it. I read fanfic and stuff at that time but wasn’t an actuve participant. I only starting interacting with mutuals in the last month or so.

👤: Kristoff! So underrated!

🚫: I always found the Duke of Wesleton to be annoying and unconvincing as a villain.

👗: Elsa’s show yourself dress. Always had a problem with her blue dress, but this one is so magestic and beautiful!

👀: Elsa is kinda overrated. I do really like her but Anna is the main character and it always pissed me off that everyone brushes her aside (especially kids). No shade on kids obviously but I just think Anna deserves more recognition.

💞: Honestly the good memes and interacting with mutuals (even though I do need to get better at putting myself out there. If anyone wants to chat I’d be happy to!)

🍂: Lost in the Woods and the final proposal :)

❄️: When I firsr saw it I didn’t like what they did with Anna but now I do, Elsa barely had an arc oof, Kristoff was adorable. Honestly if they had set up the ending more and showed Elsa not fitting in and more Kristanna then I would have been fine.

📚: Bold of you to assume I can read anymore

🎁: Something from the Hot Topic line!

💍: First one was cute, reindeer one was cute, last one destroyed me (in a good way). Others were kinda cringey but I have to see them again to be sure.

🦎: Loved Ryder. Honeymaren, and Matias.

⚔️: Kristanna is a good ship and does not just exist because of heteronormativity! Also Elsanna is awful! Also Hans is a villain (and a good villain at that)!

😊: The fact that Anna is happy with Kristoff and has a good relationship with her sister!

☹️: Elsa and Anna being estranged for all those years. Do You Wanna Build a Snowman still gets me.

🌍: Arendelle. Scandanavian culture is kinda my favorite thing. Also it’s just so pretty!

🛷: I wouldn’t mind a Kristoff-centric sequel, but I definitely would love a wedding short! I have a LOT of ideas for a Frozen 3.

[Late at night, Cerrin is lying in his bed, lost in thought. Mochi the Smallfry is sitting in his stomach, simply enjoying Cerrin's company.]

"I don't know what I'm doing, Mochi... What if I'm the person that girl is looking for, but talking to her doesn't bring any of my memories back? Or worse, I'm not, and we just led her on a wild goose chase?"

[Mochi garbles curiously at him.]

"But those dreams I keep having... They have to mean something, right? There's no way it's just a coincidence that I started having them right after I met her..."

[Mochi garbles curiously again, causing Cerrin to laugh softly before he pets the Smallfry on his head.]

"...Yeah, I know you probably can't understand me, but talking about it to you just... make me feel a little better, I guess."

[Mochi is silent for a moment, before he hops up to Cerrin's face and gently bumps the Octoling's chin with his nose. Cerrin laughs again and ruffles the Smallfry's little mohawk.]

"Haha... Thanks, little buddy."

[Ruby and Cerrin are sitting on the couch. They ate breakfast a couple hours ago, and are now contemplating...]

"Are you sure you're ready? I can't take it back once I call her."

"Yeah. Those dreams have to mean something, and if they're memories like I think, I feel like that girl would be able to clear them up."

"Okay. Calling now..."

[Ruby then dials a number into her phone, putting the call on speaker as it rings...]

"Hello...?"

"Kori? It's Ruby, that girl from--"

"Oh, hey! I had a feeling you'd be calling soon! What's up? Did you find any clues?"

"Uh, yeah. A lot, actually. One of them's sitting right next to me, and--"

"No way... Don't hell me you actually found him??"

"We did! Remember the pink guy you bumped into? He's been living with me this whole time, and we're pretty sure he's the guy you're looking for!"

"C'mon Cerrin, say hi!"

"Uh, hi?"

"Oh my cod, no way!!" [She then turns away from her phone and calls out, in Octarian,] 「Ursula! You're not gonna believe this! We might have a lead on finding your brother! And it's a big one!!"」

[The call goes quiet for a moment, the sound of two voices talking in the background barely audible. A couple of minutes later, Kori returns.]

"Okay, Ursula said she's willing to meet up with you and see where this goes! Are you free this weekend?"

"You know it! We can meet for lunch in Inkopolis Square on Saturday! My treat!"

"Sounds good! See you then!"

[Both girls then hang up, Ruby giving Cerrin a bright smile as she turns to him.]

"Isn't this awesome? We might actually get somewhere with this!"

"Y-Yeah..." 「What even is going on...」

[It's early in the morning. Ruby is just finishing her breakfast when Cerrin walks into the kitchen, a pensive look on his face.]

"Hey, is everything alright? You look concerned about something."

"Well... I've been doing some thinking..."

"Oooh, what about? Tell me, tell me!"

"It's... the stuff you found about me."

"O-Oh..."

[An awkward silence falls over them, before Cerrin lets out a small sigh.]

"I was thinking that maybe... It might be best if I knew. That it might ease my mind about my past a little."

[Ruby pauses for a moment, the pulls a black phone out of her pocket and quickly dials a number.]

"Hey, Steph, it's Ruby. Could you do me a favor and clear my schedule for today? [Pauses.] ...Yeah, I know I had a lot of stuff going on, but something really important just came up. [Pauses.] ...Yeah, dad will understand. Tell him to call me if there's any issues. [Pauses.] ...Okay, thanks."

[She hangs up and puts the phone back into her pocket... Only to reach into her bag and pull out another, red phone. She then hastily texts Koa, Cerrin watching in confusion.]

"...You didn't have to do that."

"Yeah, I did. You're more important right now, than some meetings where only my dad will listen to what I have to say anyway."

[Ruby's phone buzzes, indicating that Koa has texted her back.]

"So, Koa will be here around 3:00 with her laptop. We'll show you what we found and you can decide what we do from there. Okay?"

"...Sounds good."
