The first fox had all black eyes. Not super realistic for those who know red foxes usually have orange or greenish eyes, but still pretty cute

The second one had normal fox eyes. I think they could've gone with a size or two smaller, but still. Regular orange eyes with a vertical pupil as it should be. But then. Oh. Oh no.

he'd have to be a fool not to understand how intelligent fox mulder truly was. few made it to his position without that wit. but even above academics, mulder held an expansive mind that hannibal found fascinating. more than that, it was something he could relate to. when he'd met dana all those years ago at johns hopkin's, he had fallen for her intelligence, the way she thought, so different from the laymans around them. upon speaking with mulder, even the first time they'd met, hannibal knew the agent didn't fit the mold of the world, but instead the one that already held him and dana. there was some reluctance, toward the beginning, to allow mulder to squeeze his way in - after all, dana had been hannibal's first, and he had never been one to give up on things so easily. but in time, after talking with dana, he changed his tactics. if he can't have one without the other, then he'd have both.

'i apologize. i only find the use of first names to be considerably more personal. it can oftentimes deescalate a situation, or allow us to relax with one another,' noticing the pink that touches mulder's ears, hannibal works to hide a smirk from his lips. he's all too familiar with humans and their conflictions - portraying an emotion on the outside, feeling a different way on the inside - and having their bodies betray them in certain ways. it's clear from their previous arguments that mulder certainly held some sort of animosity toward the doctor, but there was something else beneath that, too. something he was refusing to admit to himself, but something hannibal could see it, all the same. he's still holding up the spoon, waiting patiently for mulder to obey.
