idk why im in such a bad mood rn but it actually PISSES ME TF OFF how the entire marauders fandom collectively decided to take this bum-ass loser character with one discernable impact on the storyline (regulus. im talking about regulus) and make him a super complex, three-dimensional MAIN character in the era that’s being literally paired with JAMES POTTER(???) when they could’ve taken a character who AREADY has existing complexities and everything they could ever want and develop them. but they won’t because that character is a fucking woman ☠️☠️
the way the black sisters would have the entire fandom in a fucking chokehold if they were boys. do you actually think sirius and regulus would be as cherished as they are now if they were women? hell fucking no, regulus would be hated on so badly. the way we were given narcissa and fucking andromeda too? here’s the entire fandom yapping on and on about how cool regulus is for rebelling against the dark lord when narcissa was doing it and fucking getting away with it too (because she’s better and doesn’t suck ass). here’s andromeda going against her entire bloodline ON HER OWN but yet shes still so overshadowed by sirius (who literally came after her). then you got bellatrix who is canonly one of the most powerful (and cuntiest) witches in the hp-verse and you decide to go and develop BARTY instead. think about it. they’re both crazy except one is more of a loser and is a male so of course the fandom will choose him.
and then. of course. lily evans who is literally the mother of the entire verse itself is still out here fighting for literal recognition and development from the fandom. and those mfs still give it to regulus instead ☠️☠️
#this fandom has such a superiority complex when it’s literally one of the worst things ive ever interacted with.#someone got offended on a tiktok i made bc i said i preferred andy over evan. BRO. who tf even is evan he is so middddd#regulus mid. barty mid. evan mid. ur favs are bad#harry potter#hp#marauders#marauders era#regulus black#narcissa black#andromeda black#james potter#lily evans#sirius black#bellatrix black#bellatrix lestrange#narcissa malfoy#barty crouch jr#jily#marauders fandom slander#anti jegulus#rewriting#im not actually anti jegulus im just scared i’ll get lit tf up by jegulus shippers if i dont tag right LOLZ 🤣🤣🤣#edit tags: im thinking abt it now and the wolfstar shippers are just as bad and just as delusional when it comes down to tonks#i literally cant STAND the way wolfstar shippers treat tonks. if wolfstar was a wlw ship and tonks was a man the whole situation would be-#-treated immensely differently#male love interests are never villainised in wlw ships the same way female love interests are in mlm ships. its insane.#but this is an issue in general… not just a marauders fandom issue (doesnt discredit how rancid it still is tho)#1k#2k

WHERE: St. Mungo's WHO: Narcissa & @tonksxandromeda
Arriving at St. Mungo's, it hadn't taken Narcissa long to navigate her way through the never ending hallways and in to one of the private patient rooms she knew that Andromeda would be looking after. Years of being conscious of finding ways to avoid her sister in public places meant that the blonde was aware of the general area of the hospital that Andromeda worked in, but with a few non-direct questions -because she'd never dream of asking outright where she could find her sister- Narcissa was able to find her way.
It was a terrible idea for her to come here, even now as she sat in one of the available seats in the small room, she was on the edge of convincing herself to just get up and leave and pretend that the thought hadn't even crossed her mind. Nails digging in to her own palms, she was just about to stand, deciding to indeed leave, when the door opened.
"Hello Andromeda." She finally said after a moments pause.

Starter for: Cressida & Andromeda ( @tonksxandromeda )
After marrying Tib her social circle definitely had changed. A lot of her friends were no longer her friends because of what she had done. Her family was no longer her family. But it meant that even though her social circle had grown smaller, it had also changed a little. She wasn’t certain if she would call Andromeda Tonks a friend but it was a woman who knew her situation, who had been there before and it was nice to be able to talk to someone who understood completely. No matter how much Tib tried, he would never understand completely what it was what she had chosen to do.
So this time around Cressida had reached out to Andromeda before randomly appearing on her doorstep at a rather strange hour of the day. This time their meeting ground wasn’t Andromeda’s personal home, but it was Florean Fortescue’s Ice Cream Parlor. The blonde was watching how the little Nymphadora was eating away happily on her ice cream before she turned to her mother.
“I am not sure that I have seen someone enjoy an ice cream as much as her. Thank you for meeting me here, it means a lot.”

Regulus had noticed Andromeda quite quickly, and his eyes followed her around the room. He’d been looking for people that he actually wanted to see, she was definitely an unexpected addition to that list. Excusing himself from Elodie, he quickly made his way over to his cousin, picking up a couple of glasses of champagne along the way. Sliding up next to his cousin, he handed one of the glasses to her, raising an eyebrow as he glanced over to her. “Do you feel as uncomfortable as I do?” He asked, knowing that even though he wasn’t technically invited, he was here as a plus one. He wondered how Andy got in through security. “Happy you’re here, I think Cissa will be happy to see you here, too. Whether she wants to admit it or not.” @andromedabtonks

Where: Diagon Alley Who: Dorcas & Andromeda @andromedabtonks
Dorcas had been scrounging about for groceries since she had arrived back in London, but she had decided that today was the day and enough was enough. She had gone to the Firefly Festival, but then she had mostly stayed in. But she couldn't hide forever, and she couldn't afford endless takeout, so she found herself in Diagon Alley to get some shopping done. She was a little apprehensive about returning to the Ministry next week, but enough time had passed, she hoped, and it would go smoothly.
Walking down the familiar cobblestone streets of Diagon Alley, Dorcas finally felt like she was home. Traveling and getting away had done wonders for her, but it still felt good to be back. She wasn't quite paying attention to where she was going, and she bumped into someone.
"Oh, I'm sorry!" Dorcas apologized. Recognition flooded her features. "Andromeda! I'm so sorry," she said again, this time smiling, though.

"Ah, well I definitely wouldn't look to me for advice on how to accomplish that either. Any time I say no, it's usually followed by the words I don't mind." Amelia chuckled, shaking her head. She knew that it was something she had to get better at, saying no and not feeling like she had to be responsible for every tiny thing that happened, but she had long accepted that it was just how she was.
"It sounds like she's incredibly lucky to have you both as her parents." She nodded. Any child deserved at least half the amount of love that she could see that Dora had from her parents, and while Amelia didn't have children on the cards for her own life, she could only hope that if it did ever happen, that she'd be able to offer the same level of love and care. "Wonderful, and I will when I've next got a free evening. All this talk of Ted and Dora though, I should let you get back to them."
“I believe it may start with having boundaries and learning to say no to work. But again, I haven’t quite sorted how to actually do that.” She admitted with a laugh. She had a problem with always saying yes, always wanting to help whenever they were in need. And now with the war it felt as though they were always in need, they were struggling to keep up with the influx of patients coming in so often.
“Oh you have no idea, she knows exactly how to pull on our heart strings and get what she wants. It doesn’t help that we’re both just wrapped around her fingers, we don’t know how to say no to her. She’s far too clever for her own good.” Even as she said it, she couldn’t help how she smiled. She wouldn’t have it any other way after all. “Excellent, I’ll let Ted know. He’d be thrilled. Just feel free to send an owl and we can find a time that works for all of us. Gives us all an excuse to take a break from work for at least a few hours.”

Sirius Black: Looks and Behaviour
Honestly, a few of these are canon, and I'll put that in brackets. Most of them are shamelessly self indulgent tho. Please note that this is the first part of The Sirius Black Headcanons Series, and I hope you enjoy!
.
Tall ASF. He towers over everybody, and combine that with his tendency to stick to the etiquette lessons he had been given as a child— he stands with his shoulders rolled back and his chin held high, straight-backed and arms at his side, sometimes with his hands in his pockets— he looks intimidating. He never slouches. (see: literally every time Harry mentions him)
He walks powerfully. Long strides, feet perfectly placed, arms swinging just right. Sometimes he walks with one hand in his pocket, curled around the pocket watch he carries around, given to him by James' parents for his 17th birthday and engraved with the Potter crest. People see him coming and clear out of his way immediately, and he does not even notice. He is the kind of person that attracts attention everywhere he goes.
Silvery grey eyes, high cheekbones, straight nose, strong jaw and determined eyebrows, full lips that make him look intimidating. Dense, silky hair, pitch black in colour and slightly wavy. Sirius is a living example of the fact that True Beauty is striking and terrifying. (see: again, literally every time Harry mentions him. Boy is calling Sirius handsome even during his death scene.)
He prefers to keep his hair long like his grandfather does, with the difference of tying a bun instead of a proper gentleman's queue. If not for the leather jackets and the ratty muggle jeans and the band t-shirts, he would have always been mistaken for Arcturus.
He has a lot of body hair, and he hates that his facial hair grows so fast, because he likes to stay clean shaven. His arms and legs and chest are hairy and he does not care much about that, but he likes it when his face looks clean and well-groomed, so he shaves every other day.
When he speaks, he is very articulate and concise, and often gets teased for it by Remus and Sirius (James is the same as him). His grammar is immaculate, and he prefers not to use expletives. He does use them, especially when he stubs his toe or drops something or some such happening, but he does not use them when insulting people.
He is always polite to people, even when he is arguing with them (see: ootp, his argument with molly). He will argue without raising his voice, because he firmly believes that greater volume does not equal improved argument, and only raises his voice in extremely stressful situations where he needs to bring attention to what he is saying.
Has concrete values and views, and refuses to bend or change them for anyone (the only exceptions are James and Harry). He is the kind to research and read before he forms an opinion, and does not hesitate to say that he is not educated enough to have an opinion on something if that is the case. He hates people who behave like sheep, and much prefers to do his own independent research and form his own independent opinions. (see: gof, he tells Harry he isn't sure Snape is a DE)
#1 Overbearing Fusspot™. James might have been the mother hen of their group, but Sirius was the Stressed Dad™. He is that overprepared airport dad; always worrying about this and that and making sure everyone has everything ready, and he extends that same parent behaviour to Harry after Prisoner of Azkaban (see: literally every interaction between him and Harry, he is such a parent).
Cares about only a few select people: James, Lily, Harry, Mr and Mrs Potter, Remus, Peter, Andromeda and Ted and Baby Tonks. He could not give less of a fuck about everybody else— he has a small circle and he likes it that way. After Peter's betrayal, that list reduces down only to Harry, Andy, Ted and Baby Tonks.

what about trans girl harry?
It would be *so easy* to do trans girl Harry.
The way I'd do it - is Harry isn't quite able to articulate her thoughts about gender until about 14-15. She's not the most introspective person in the world, and can sometimes have trouble sifting through and articulating what she's really feeling. (Why it's so easy to interpret Harry's *thing* about Draco as a crush.) Also Harry just has a lot going on, and also also... she's carrying around a bit of Voldemort's soul. Which has got to be gumming up the works, gender-wise.
I'd have it be that she meets Tonks, and just has this big feeling of - YES. I want THAT. I mean pretty much the first interaction Harry has with Tonks, in canon, is -
“Can you learn how to be a Metamorphmagus?” Harry asked her, straightening up, completely forgetting about packing.
Like you wouldn't even have to change anything.
Harry would experience basically gender-envy when it came to Tonks, but not really have words for this feeling. There'd be a few periods where she'd wonder if she had a crush, or if this was somehow about wanting to be an auror. It'd get folded up into Harry's general dark, sticky mood in Book 5. And I don't really see her revisiting any of this until after Book 7, when the piece of Voldemort's soul is gone, and she actually has time to sit and process.
One of the things she'd want to process would be her godson, Teddy. She'd want to be a part of his life, so she'd do her homework about how best to raise a metamorphmagus. Talk to Andromeda, talk to Hermione. Start learning about gender, and then eventually start having more complicated thoughts about her own gender.
I think one day she asks Luna for a hair to put into some Polyjuice potion, because she knows Luna definitely isn't going to judge her or ask any questions. Harry walks around in Luna's body for an hour and it feels really good. It feels right. I think Luna would ask, in a very Luna kind of way, if Harry liked being her or not. And Harry would say, "You know Luna.... I think I really, really did."
She'd have a lot of gentle gender talks with Luna, but this is still Harry and she's been through a lot. There is a non-zero possibility that she thinks these thoughts she's having are a symptom of some sort of curse or magical condition, and so goes to St Mungo's and fills out a very long and eccentric 'what are you experiencing' questionnaire.
For added hilarity, I would personally make this a universe where Draco became a healer after the war. Because then he could say "So it sounds like you want to be a woman for a while, Potter. That is certainly something we can do for you. Do you have any preferences around cup size?"
Because... in the HP universe... Polyjuce can easily change your gender, metamorphmagi can easily change their gender. Healing magic is basically perfect for anything non-magical. Permanent and semi-permanent physical transformations are also a thing. Hermione turns into a catgirl, Tom turns into a snakeboy. I have to think that transing your gender is absolutely something they could do for you.

I’m endlessly curious about Andromeda’s interaction with privilege in the wizarding world. She walks away from her family to marry a muggleborn and casts herself out from the epicentre of power, but how much does she still hold as a pureblood witch? She might no longer be welcome at the country houses of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, but when facing down some middling Ministry official or a half-blood family she’s still a Black. How much does she lean into that?
As far as we know she doesn’t provide any support for Sirius when he runs away from home nor does she try and get him out of Azkaban. She doesn’t seem to play any part in the First War at all. I think all of this could be justified under an explanation of her cutting herself off from the wizarding world entirely in order to protect her family, but that kind of disconnect doesn’t make sense when Tonks not only goes to Hogwarts but becomes an Auror. So does that mean Andromeda doesn’t have any power or resources to lean into, or just that she doesn’t care about Sirius, or a bit of both?
Then there’s the fact that Auror is the profession Tonks pursues. For someone to choose to be part of upholding such a problematic institution, she has to be normalized to wizarding society’s power structures - enough to accept them, or maybe not question them at all. So that makes me envision an upbringing where Andromeda said her family were the problem, not pureblood power and privilege in itself. (And there’s a whole other conversation in there about the pressure of gender conformity and internalized homophobia that Tonks grapples with tbh.)
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Andromeda fan. I actually think these gray areas are what make her fascinating. Like Sirius, she straddles contradictory worlds, and both benefits and suffers from wizarding social power. I think there’s a lot to dig into there.

"Not to worry, you're more than welcome to join me on team people pleaser." Amelia laughed, offering a small shake of her head in return. It wasn't completely a bad thing in her eyes, no, she would much rather be a people pleaser than someone who gave no consideration for anyone else around them. "I can only imagine. It would be more concerning though if you didn't miss them at all." She nods. Seeing Andromeda brighten at the change of subject, made her smile once more. "That's what grandparents are for though, is it not? To spoil you rotten and ply you full of sugar so you're sent home as high as a kite." She chuckles. "How long have they got her for? Just the night or all weekend?"
Andromeda couldn't help but laugh as Amelia called her out and she shook her head even as she gestured at herself. "Well there you have it, case in point." She just didn't want to ruin the mood when everyone was enjoying themselves, it was meant to be a celebration after all. She thanked Amelia as she took the glass from her, taking a drink to try and calm herself. Setting the glass back down she sighed. "I always miss them, but the worst of it comes and goes in waves. Today it feels like a tidal wave." Set to crush her if she let it. Her face brightened at the change of topic, and she was sure Amelia had brought her daughter up on purpose. "Dora is with Ted's parents. They spoil her rotten every chance they get so I imagine she's on to her third or fourth dessert of the evening by now."

Starter for @tonksxandromeda
It had been quite the task to find out where exactly Andromeda Tonks had settled down with her husband and daughter. It was information that Cressida wasn't allowed to have to start with. Contact with Andromeda was strictly forbidden, that had been made very clear when she learned of the betrothal between her brother and Narcissa. And still the blonde was currently standing on the woman's doorstep.
Cressida had knocked on the door and it took a moment before someone opened the door. Andromeda. "I'm so sorry to bother you and you probably don't want to talk to me but I need to talk to someone who knows what it's like." Could you even be more vague, Cress?
"I need to know if it is all worth it. You know... love?"

Where: Andromeda & Ted's House When: Afternoon Who: Regulus & @andromedabtonks
Regulus entered into Andromeda's home without knocking, as if he owned the place. Ever since he'd reached out to her for help, her house felt like a home away from home. A safe space he was always welcomed in. It was nice to have a place to get away from the chaos that was 12 Grimmauld Place, which was almost constantly filled with other people in their early twenties that liked to drink and party every night. That wasn't the lifestyle Regulus liked to live, and so Andromeda and Ted's place became his second home.
Not seeing anyone as he entered into the house, he slowly made his way through each room, keeping his eyes peeled for his cousin. After checking every room, he felt his face scrunch up in confusion. He knew she was supposed to be off today, it was why he'd come over in the first place. But where was she? Realizing he hadn't checked the yard, he opened up the back door to find Andromeda sitting on her back deck, enjoying the sunny day. "Why're hiding from me?" He asked, picking up a decorative pillow and playfully tossing it at her as he sat down in a chair next to her.

Andromeda had been the first of the Black cousins to leave the family and it had shaken Narcissa to her core. She had never imagined that her sister would actually leave their family behind for a boy. When Sirius had followed Andromeda's lead, she hadn't been all that surprised, and to be frank she hadn't felt like the family was missing out on much. He had always been a rebel. And then Regulus had gone too and she shattered. If Andromeda hadn't been the first would the boys have followed?
That was a question that kept her up at night sometimes. Why hadn't she been good enough for her family to stay around?
"Ah, that's where you've been gone too long Andromeda. Since when has it mattered what I wanted?" she clucked her tongue. "You should know better than that." What was it about running into her sister that brought out this side of her? She didn't like it. That was for certain. "Mother and Lucius wouldn't like me speaking to you."
She should've expected that reaction. Why did she even speak to her first? Perhaps they could've gone without speaking during this interaction. Maybe Narcissa wouldn't have even seen her, and Andromeda could've gone the rest of her days wondering what would've happened if she just spoke up in Diagon Alley that day. Well, she'd be able to quell her mind now, she supposed.
But, no, she just had to be the bigger person. If ever there was solid proof that she was the older sister between them, this was it.
Schooling a grimace, Andromeda settled back into her chair, faking an air of nonchalance. "And what? Because I should be going out of my way to speak to you?" She shook her head slightly, refusing to break eye contact. "Maybe you shouldn't, but do you want to?"

but why would anybody care about effie that much? she isnt even relevant on mockingjay (book)
As far as I can remember Mockingjay is not the only book in the series. Also, I don‘t know you because you decided to stay anonym, but you don‘t seem to be all to invested in any fandom, because I remember that people always have and always will fall in love with „irrelevant“ side charcters like Andromeda Tonks or Emma Anemone. And if I remember right Annie also wasn‘t that relevant. You‘re right though she isn‘t that relevant in Mockingjay, but what happened to her in Mockingjay is. It proves that she was on their side, or atleast not on Snows. Effie Trinket is a complex character, she is morally grey and it‘s hard to know her motives, if she was a man people would love that. Effie was a pawn in Plutarchs and Snows games, her life choices have been made for her. Her torture and her almost execution are just collateral damage and Katniss didn‘t even spare her a thought in the entire time of mockingjay. She was the prove that not everyone in the capitol is a monster, that not everyone in the capitol was truly safe and that people can change. I love her because she doesnt seem relevant, because it proves how much people will only see the world in black and white.
Also if you don‘t like her or simply don‘t care, why do you care about my opinion? I‘m genuinly curious. Also when you interact with blogs who post about her you will see more of such posts, just so you know ☺️

having what if remadora lived teddy lupin thoughts <- elaborate
remus' internalized ableism which bleeds into every interaction with teddy. remus is barely home and he feels physical pain every time he sees teddy. he can't give him wolfsbane because he's too young so he'll lock him in a cage as an infant and sit and stare as his little boy, who's not old enough to hold to hold his own bottle as he claws and hurts himself, watch his bones snap back into place and leave him so bloody remus can't bear to touch him (tonks has to).
meanwhile tonks has the burden of remus' negligence along with a newborn and having just given birth. becomes a day drinker, picks fights with remus and leaves teddy with lyall and andromeda while she goes out and gets into fights at the pub.
teddy grows up with shitty parents, resents his parents and clings to his grandparents most of his childhood. once he's older, 12-ish and up, they get closer little by little. lyall or andromeda pass away when he's fifteen-ish and he becomes even more attached to the one that's left, does bad in school, screams, picks fights, runs away, starts smoking, becomes really sexually active.
it's very very messy
