His grandfather always told him to travel light - life gives you enough burdens to carry.

Byeongkwan never understood it. How could he? What burdens did he have to carry back then? ...Other than maybe an oversized backpack and his disdain for eating cucumbers.

Now the sentiment takes on a whole new meaning. Life had thrown so many punches over the years - jabs, hooks, crosses, and a few final uppercuts - that it was all finally starting to make sense.

So, it doesn't take more than an hour to clear his things out of the trainee dorm - for good this time, is what he tells himself. Though, he'd been mistaken before. He fears jumping the gun, getting overzealous prematurely. He drops another shoe ( one he can control ) into the garbage bag he's designated for overflow from his suitcase and heaves a long sigh.

His grandfather failed to mention that the traveling itself can still feel so burdensome.

Perhaps it is more of the fear of the unknown that leaves him feeling somewhat apprehensive. Not knowing what lies up ahead. One step forward and he's certain that the road doesn't get any easier from here. And his mind still likes to play its little tricks, concocting various twists and turns and immovable mountains that leave him wandering aimlessly again. Is it worth it? Will it be worth it? He hasn't a clue.

But as he steps through the doors leading to what will become his new home - a phrase in itself he's never been quite comfortable with - he feels... lighter.

He didn't need his grandfather to tell him that having someone there to share those burdens and carry some of the load could make all the difference. Turn a treacherous trek into somewhat of an adventure. ( Cheesy in every sense of the word, but stick with him here - ).

He's one of the last to move in, the dorm already bustling with activity. He wastes no time getting settled, even if it means lazily tossing his belongings into his shared bedroom before shuffling into each room to greet the others. ...And to lament over the first floor private bathroom he'd be missing out on. "It's just not fair," he whines to the camera in his hand, shaking his head as he mourns. He's neglected to film much more than he'd like during their 'break,' but the move gives him something to talk about, something to be excited for.

"Are you ready for the world tour? ...Alright, we're not there yet, but maybe one day soon. Can't ever stop thinking big, but lets start small... Check out the patio, yeah?" A quick pan to show off the space before he flops himself onto one of the couches. "Nice!"

From there the words continue to flow in an endless stream of consciousness. His ideas for the space, plans for the day ahead, goals for the future - their future. He could breathe a little out here. Bask in the accomplishment of making it here. He's made his peace with the setback and the shaky ground they'd all been clinging onto. But in this moment his feet are on solid ground... and his head on is a soft cushion that's got him prepared to drift off mid-sentence and...

He feels okay.

And if he's being honest, it's probably the first time he has in quite some time.

Or an avalanche ( judging by the looks of the mountain of clothing he'd just emptied onto the floor from his trash bag luggage ). ...Maybe a tsunami ( if you count the open bottle in the corner, electrolyte water seeping into one of his crumpled up hoodies ).

He'd get it all cleared up in no time - and if not, it wasn't like he'd be the one really minding all that much. He'd always been the messiest of his dormmates back when he was cooped up with the senior trainees. At least now, he'd only have to worry about sharing with -

"Wish I was, but this joke has no punchline," he snorts, although any sign of amusement fails to reach his features. "Which bed do you want?"

the move in day was here, and of course, he was upset, but he had no plans on going anywhere. sure... he had been mildly avoiding everyone, and his bitch face was a bit more... prominent than usual, but he was still with them, one hundred precent... probably the reason he was so upset in the first place.

he was organized, down to a tea, so it's not much to take his things, heading up to the second floor. he's not sure who he's roomed with, perhaps haneul, and so he tries to smile when he steps through the door, only to see a person he... was not on the best terms with. he blinks, sighing.

New boy group MZSD makes a powerful and bold entrance with “Earth, Wind & Fire” and “ME=”

The much-anticipated 8-member boy group MZSD, from the newly established label USGEN, has officially made its debut with the release of its dual-title singles, “Earth, Wind & Fire” and “ME=.” Comprised of members BK, NOEUL, MK, SAEM, WENJUN, JAZZ, EDEN, and YICHEN, it is projected to be one of the leaders of 5th-generation boy groups through its bold performances, relatable music, and unity.

Formed under the creative guidance of DBSD’s CHOI DAEHYUN, founder of USGEN, MZSD is a project rooted in intention, individuality, and identity. DBSD and MZSD members were involved in both songs’ music and performance production.

Their name, MZSD, symbolizes a split yet connected generational narrative: the “Z” side, full of boundless energy and youthful defiance, and the “M” side, a reflection of the slow but sure path toward adulthood. With each comeback, they aim to tell a different chapter of this coming-of-age story through music. The Z-side title, “Earth, Wind & Fire,” captures the unfiltered, raw, confusing, and somehow chaotic throws of youth’s first loves. Meanwhile, “Me=” represents their M-side: a more introspective, emotionally rich, and confident expression of one’s feelings.

Before its debut, MZSD was introduced through the year-long YouTube series “NEWKIDS NEWDREAMS,” which premiered on May 1, 2024. The series documented the team’s formation, the training process, and the dreams the team carried into the practice room each day. Over the past year, they also released seven pre-debut tracks, offering fans a first look at their artistry and raw potential.

a reminder on side-events; they are non-mandatory occasional events that your muse can choose to participate in or not.

during the weeks preceding white day, each artist will get to spend one hour individually with a chocolatier to create a their own chocolate (type of chocolate, ingredients, flavor, color, design, ect..). furthermore, they will write a note for their fans that will be included inside the box. finally, each groups will have an all-white (and cute!) theme photoshoot for the package.

in the end, each set will contain chocolates made by their respective artists + an exclusive photocard and note from a single artist. concretely, for instance, blazing's chocoset will have FIVE chocolates in it (one for each member) and will have 5 versions (one per member). in each version will be an exclusive photocard and a note of one member. so sarang's version of blazing's set will also include a photocard of her and a note written by her inside it. note that while each set won't have the same number of chocolate, they will all have the same amount in terms of weight

hello everyone! we just wanted to write a quick note this week in regards to the upcoming holiday season! we know that the end of the term is especially busy for everyone trying to finish their requirements, and it’s also busy for us admins planning new schedules and events. as such, we know that bringing the holidays into the mix might be stressful for a lot of people (including us). we think a small break would be nice for everyone!

SEYOON'S TRAINEE PERIOD (life & career update)

Okay, this ended up being more of a life update, LOL I mentioned most of the people he interacted with that had a role in his development. Thanks for all the fun threads.

"I joined Legacy in January 2022." Guess it didn't take him that long to debut after all.

How did he get here? Well, Seyoon always told the fans that it's been his dream to entertain and become an idol, but in reality, he had different goals growing up. Once upon a time, he wanted to be a farmer, spend his days with his feet in the mud, fingers smelling of grass and fruits, sweat dripping down his sun-kissed forehead. Seyoon's grandmother always wanted him to go into engineering, and a part of him wanted to fulfill her wishes. Maybe he could be a firefighter too? Those guys looked great on charity calendars, and he could join them.

Well. Whatever. I've got a few years. Seyoon thought back then. Plenty of time for mistakes and do-overs. Let's just play around until we figure things out. Everything will be just fine.

And then his birth mother called. For the first time, she expressed interest in him, her abandoned son. It happened around the time Seyoon needed an escape because of a certain major loss, so he ditched everything in Canada with no hesitation. It turned out that she didn't love him and merely summoned him to appease her new husband, Yoojoon's dad. Seyoon did not get his mother's love as he'd hoped, but at least he was able to obtain Yoojoon's friendship.

He took up a job frying chicken and learned Korean by chatting up beautiful customers like Rowonwon. Eventually, an opportunity came, and he auditioned for Legacy. He thought he would totally fail, but somehow they wanted him. Alright, he thought, guess we'll try to become a celebrity.

Seyoon made a ton of friends, and the years he had as a trainee were awesome. Unlike some others, he wasn't in a hurry. There was a part of him that believed he didn't deserve it anyway. He took Wenjun to a party and showed him the joy of skinny dipping. He helped Daeul 'borrow' an old woman's dog, Oatmeal Latte. He went to an amusement park with Taeha and kept on running into Yuxi & her hot cousin (HMMMMM). He partied with BK and mooched off of Hyuntae. People (was it the church girl Milan?) said he was very similar to Emi, and he absolutely must agree. Seyoon was a huge fan of Yujin and thought she was so gonna debut soon (she did!). He also liked Ichika and helped his friend edit a fanfic of her (and ended up getting caught). Through LGC fall boys he also got a chance to check out Yushin. Mmm yes, that man looked so fine.

A couple of people from his past also showed up: Seunghyun & Jisoo. Both childhood friends, he thought he wouldn't see again. When Seyoon saw Minjun, he thought he saw another childhood friend, but that couldn't be possible because Asher was...Anyway, yeah, he got along with the cute kids, Misaki & Hanie. One was messy with him, and the other was willing to clean for him. He adored both very much.

Though he was reluctant to open up, a few people did touch his heart. Yiran was the first to have an honest conversation, and Yoojoon had Seyoon openly admit he needed him. Haemin took care of Seyoon that one rare time he was sick and vulnerable during Chuseok. It meant more to him than he would ever let on. Rowon knew too many of his secrets, and though that relationship really crashed and burned, Seyoon cannot say he was particularly regretful.

Career-wise, he participated in family concerts and cafe performances. Seyoon jumped on every opportunity and showed his face whenever the company allowed him. He learned how to host and eventually had his podcast, Unexplainable Encounters. That was fun. He had two seasons before his debut and was able to feature lots of his buddies as guests. Though he didn't understand why the company wanted him to, he picked up new languages in workshops.

Oh yeah, he really wanted to be in MZSD, and to this day, believes he would have been amazing there. When he didn't get selected, Seyoon actually felt disappointed for the first time. He considered going into acting at the time because it didn't matter, right? As long as he was getting paid, why should he care what he did?

But he did care. A little. Just enough for him to push a bit harder. At this point, people around him started debuting, including his half-brother. He should be happy for Yoojoon, but envy was beginning to get in the way.

Fall Boys, and then Team Unknown. After that, he debuted with Type Zero along with Jaejin. He was the first choice, though, okay? FIRST CHOICE DAMMIT.

His groupmates were really sweet and super hot (especially leader nim Baekkie), so Seyoon supposed everything did turn out okay and his undeserving ass got way more than he should.

A little more confident, slightly more reassured. Seyoon felt like he was moving forward with a hint of extra maturity as well. It might still take a few years before his brain fully grows into adulthood, but hey, there was no real need to rush, right? At least he'd stopped chasing after every pretty face he saw - oh hey, who's that Minnie?

misaki is no stranger to commitment, his rapid-fire one-track mind often shoehorning him into positions he might otherwise never think of if not for external factors. an innocent enabler in every way, misaki also just so happened to be easily enabled. as such, the moment he begins rapid firing different possible pledge options to make to mzsd fans if a first win is received, there seems to be no end in sight as to what he could do.

bungee jumping was always a solid promise— plenty of idols have done so in the past, but that's a bit too common. the thrill would be awesome, that much misaki knows, but it's also something he would have to wait to do after the win. for a brief moment, the thought of jumping over a car breaches his mind, eyes bright and emploring as he tests the waters, asking a manager if they could please please please please please let him do it ( misaki swears he can do it ). that idea, as one might guess, was quickly shot down with no room for argument. their youngest wants something fun, something entertaining, something in the moment for fans to be able to enjoy alongside him, not at a later time separate from him.

"i thought really long and hard about what i wanted to say today— ask the hyungs and managers, they'll tell you!" misakis voice is bright, a cheeky grin playing at his lips as he stares into the camera, his hair stylist giving a playfully quiet tsk as his hand moves to tilt misakis head forward again. "everyone has been supporting us so much this past year, it's been really amazing, so i want to do something that'll make you all smile even harder than normal!" and really, that's all misaki has ever wanted— bringing people joy by simply being himself. so far, he seems to be succeeding at that, so he'd like to keep that streak going for as long as possible.

"we're gonna put up a little poll, something you can all vote on . . . and that poll is—" misakis hands begin slapping at his thighs loudly, a drumroll sounding, the movement causing his stylist to step back a bit as to not accidentally burn misakis ear with the flat iron that'd previously been running through misakis hair. "—what inflatable costume should i wear for our first encore stage!"

misaki begins to laugh, a delightful sound, giddy for something that he isn't sure will even end up happening. "i'll put it on right there on stage in front of all of you and perform in it, i think that'll be fun!" there was still the need to narrow down exactly what costumes there would be to pick from, but that wouldn't be hard.

A short list of things BK did to pass the time during his 6 weeks of freedom.

Woke up whenever the hell he wanted. Sometimes at 7. Sometimes at noon. Sometimes at 9. Sometimes at 4:44AM on the dot for four days in a row and that freaked him out pretty bad so he went back to his usual training schedule.

Broke in the new dorm kitchen. Tried every single sauce recipe he'd been sitting on since 2021. There's a solid 6 jars of strange concoctions fermenting under the dorm sink. There's a sign on the cabinet door that begs no one to open it.

Picked up guitar. Then put it back down. Returned to his roots with the piano. Discovered he's still pretty damn good at sight reading. Played a few songs by ear when that got boring.

Mastered 37 tongue twisters. His enunciation is top tier.

Spent a lot of time in the gym. Usually between the hours of 10PM-3AM when he found himself thinking too much. Fell asleep in the sauna and concerned the staff.

When he was too tired for that, he usually just hung out on the patio. Not as good as the old rooftop where he used to sit and chat with Wenjun, but still pretty darn nice. ( Almost scorched his eyebrows over the fire pit though - ).

Got really into essential oils - Thanks Haneul! ( He does not realize that they shouldn't be used as cologne ). ( ...Is still unintentionally sniffing them up his nose ).

Followed Yichen around saying 'I'm not touching you' while being prepared to duck at a moment's notice.

Kept walking into Minki's dorm room to ask random nonsensical questions. Remembered to put on pants ( the third or fourth time ).

Ate at Noeul's dad's restaurant and made very poor attempts at haggling.

Ate snacks in Jasper's bed when he wasn't home. The real crumbly kind. Didn't use napkins or plates. Dusted his hands off a few times in the process.

Took a few classes at a local dance studio. Cleaned up his footwork. Finally stopped cringing whenever he watched his playbacks from practice sessions.

Got zero new numbers. He's still a bit sad about it.

Tried to negotiate for the single bedroom with manager Kyuhyun but the guy's a hard sell.

Filled Saem's bunk with his favorite snacks. ( For reasons. )

Wrote some songs.

Wrote a lot of songs.

Scrapped quite a few songs, rewrote them, then scrapped them again.

Contemplated his life and decisions. Had an existential crisis or two. Broke for lunch. Had another.

Came to the conclusion that this is probably exactly where he needs to be ( and that there's no way he'd go back to his old side gig playing accompaniment for washed up trot singers ).

It was always easier for him to think out loud. Even capturing his thoughts and ideas on paper seemed to pale in comparison to bouncing the words off others. It was that theme of the week, still buzzing at the news of being able to play a role in production alongside his seniors. It was a high that had him floating through the dorms and yapping incessantly for hours on end.

There is a short lull in the commotion though, BK's attention drawn to one of their groupmates sauntering by without much of a greeting. The debate over whether two vaguely similar words do indeed rhyme wasn't really going anywhere anyway ( i.e., BK had lost the debate about 10 minutes in and was no longer interested in the outcome ).

He strolls into the kitchen after him, peering curiously over his shoulder. Yichen's surprise does little more than have him leaning in even closer, contemplating if he could easily snag a bite without making much of a mess. "You should be more aware of your surroundings, my dude," he chuckles, bringing a hand down onto his shoulder to give it squeeze. "I feel like I haven't seen you all day. How's private lessons?"

yichen returned to the dorm late that night after spending hours in the dance room. in addition to pursuing more modeling opportunities, he had decided to focus on improving his dance skills. while his coach often reassured him that he was doing well, yichen couldn’t shake the feeling that he still had room to grow.

the first floor of the dorm was alive with loud chatter, mostly from the three members who had recently started working alongside the dbsd seniors. their excitement filled the air but yichen wasn’t in the mood to join in.

he slipped quietly into the kitchen, his stomach grumbling in anticipation of his long-overdue dinner. tonight’s menu was rose tteokbokki and jjajangmyeon, a sinful meal he had been looking forward to for the last six hours. as he began tossing the jjajangmyeon noodles with his chopsticks, the last thing he expected was someone sneaking up beside him, causing him to nearly drop his chopsticks. “can you at least make a sound before sneaking up like that?”

his head was still spinning with everything that was going on. long gone was the trainee jasper-- semi bright eyed and bushy tailed, a little bit more than unprepared for what future idol like would be bringing him. now that was replaced with jazz-- all rounder, member of mzsd, trying to be a leader. he tried to act cooler than he was. he wasn't sure if it was working.

now that he was an idol though, he wasn't sure he felt a bit different? it felt like the shift had happened a while back. somewhere between moving into the dorm, filming the official music video, or maybe even being on one of the shows. now, it was just time to act like. he wasn't sure he was doing that well either.

regardless though, he had to get something done. he may have completed his 'goal' of debuting, but now, the pressure was on even more. at least he can relax his shoulders. he felt a bit more... worthy now, and as he spots someone familiar, he wastes no time in jogging up, putting away his umbrella with a soft smile. "ah, noona. it's been so long." he admits, shaking his hair a bit. "... i think i might finally get a break soon."
