yeah man protestants, famously the christian denomination most known for taking issue with divorce,
#some of you need to realise that like Liberalism In General basically descends from the 17th century english protestant ethos.#not as some inevitability of course but due to historical contingencies. i forget that ppl literally cannot trace the line#from the english civil war to the glorious revolution to 18th century british liberalism to the ideas which drove the french revolution#like. even truly radical politics find an early ideologically consistent expression in the levellers#(and in the genuinely radically modern structure of the new model army)
