I know you probably won't read the fic So here is a cute little moment with Hazel and her parents! I do have another fun scene, one that might be a bit reminiscent of Dinner.

They end up watching ‘The Land Before Time’, it’s just about an hour and who doesn’t like dinosaurs? Dad even made some scones and mom helped bring out the cheese and marmalade. So they had a little snack while watching the movie. It was really nice, she’s so happy she has them as her parents. They’re the best!

Here I’m going to try and explain all of the Unus Annus codes + possible lore. If I have forgotten some information or if one of these links doesnt work/is incorrect please let me know. This post will be updated when needed. 

This is LONG, so be prepared. 

At first, these codes were only in videos edited by NerdFiction, but as of October 26th this is no longer true. (The possible exception to this would be the first video I’ve listed, as the editor is not in the description). 

1) 5 Weird Apps That Predicted Our Death

 “Here at Unus Annus the end is nigh... when the timer hits zero we will cease to exist. is it fate? is this a simulation? Can anybody hear me? My name is.... [FILE REDACTED]”. Timestamp - 0:14

2) Ethan Roasts Mark for 15 Minutes Straight

 “and in the comments, you will read the words you soon will see are wise controlling pawns who type our deed ‘That is Discord, not FaceTime’” Timestamp - 0:40

Around this time, NerdFiction’s Twitter bio said, among his normal information, that he was “trying to stop the Unus Annus clock from within.”

“I couldn’t stop it. Will I die with the machine?” (Timestamp - 21:33)

7) Does This Magnetic Skincare Routine Really Work?

“The Beginning of The End”. 

On July 26th, at 12pm PST, a video was uploaded to Unus Annus titled “Traversing the Desert to Find Our Inner Truth”. This video was only up for a few minutes before it mysteriously disappeared, only to be replaced by another video, titled “The Beginning of The End”. At first glance, the videos were identical, save for different titles and slightly different descriptions. However, the second video was slightly longer than the first, and upon further inspection, many came to realize that the audio was slightly different as well. You can listen to both audios here. There was a rumor going around that the captions of “Traversing the Desert to Find Our Inner Truth” said something about looking out for Norbert Moses, but no one has been able to confirm this to my knowledge. 

8) Puberty Simulator

“Happy birthday to the beast or to the body that once housed me. A transfer made for pity’s sake. Tricked into the machine as he had my cake.” (Timestamp - 14:36) [The same code was found a week earlier in “Mark and Ethan Shave Chica”, uploaded on NerdFiction’s birthday. The original code was very difficult to make out, so it is likely he inserted it into a different video to make it easier for us.]

On the same day, NerdFiction’s Twitter bio read “Everyone must leave something behind when he dies. Memento Memoriae” (remember memory)

In “The Koala Challenge: TikTok’s Intimate Couple’s Trend” one of the clips is edited to look like a TikTok video, with the user ron_somberest being used. Ron_Somberest is an anagram for Norbert Moses. This TikTok account does actually exist, and the icon is a zoomed in and brightened photo of Norbert Moses’s face with the eyes scribbled out. 

Around this time NerdFiction’s Twitter bio read “’It’s not dark, never was’ - Ron Bestsmore”. Ron Bestsmore is also an anagram for Norbert Moses. It is possible that the “dark” being referred to here is Darkiplier, and NerdFiction is trying to imply that Dark is not involved in this. 

About a week after the koala challenge video was “How to Start a Fire (except don’t)”, which featured an appearance from Unus. NerdFiction’s Twitter bio read “In the end, who is your savior and what are they saving you from?” 

Things were quiet for about a month. NerdFiction eventually erased the cryptic message from his Twitter bio. 

9) Learning To Use The Force

“wait no something is wrong. he knows!” (Timestamp - 10:45) [translated from small coded words hidden in the montage]

“STOPTHISWHATAREYOUDOINGO3″ (Timestamp - 11:40)

“it worked” (a spectrogram, derived from a sound played at the end of the video)

10) Momiplier Tells Us True Scary Stories from Korea

“As I was, as I’ve done to him now. Am I right to decide his fate?” (Timestamp - 5:44) [Right before this, Mark’s mom is talking about a nightmare she had where she was paralyzed, possibly implying that nerdfiction was once paralyzed and has now paralyzed someone else (pointed out by @/minervas-sandwich)]

11) Cryptid Olympics

“I thought you’d join us but, hey, that was just a theory, Memento Doctrina” (remember learning). (Timestamp - 5:49) [The code references the Game Theorists channel, which had uploaded a video about Unus Annus earlier that same day.]

12) Edward Pumpkin Hands - This was the first coded video not edited by NerdFiction, instead being edited by Diceroll.

At various points throughout the video small parts of a url are seen. When pieced together, this link is made: https://imgur.com/a/tyDewJ7. It leads to a photo of the Unus Annus hourglass. When edited, a series of binary text is shown, which translates to “zhIaNL2“. Inputting this into another imgur link gets you to https://imgur.com/a/zhIaNL2. After editing the photo (although you can still sorta see it without doing so), a cipher of a custom alphabet is shown (I posted an edited photo here).

At 5:01 in the video a weird image is shown for only a moment (a slightly brightened version of it here). Nobody knows what the hell it means.

At the same time, there is a reversed audio of someone (presumably Ethan; it sounds like him) saying “we did that”. For context, the sentence said right before that line was “if one of us dies, the other has to take over for the remainder of time”. This is possibly implying that someone, or multiple someones, has/have died and been replaced.

13) Blood Bath - edited by rad_r

“Everything’s fine”

The Unus Annus timer is shown. It counts down for three seconds before counting up for one second. Heavy breathing can be heard over it. It is then cancelled by an error message

“ITS NOT FINE HELP” (this and the previous two messages are hidden at 5:57)

“you’ve done it now.. a machine observed. there is no returning.. a machine unnerved. there is only.. a machine unconqured.” (right at the end of the video, before the timer)

14) The Unus Annus Annual Costume Contest - edited by nerdfiction

“I saw just one door in a hall filled with many, I locked your gate but they were too late to join me. He was re-placed, she was undone, I had escaped yet he had still won”. (Timestamp - 2:05) [possibly talking about diceroll and rad_r. The pronouns would line up, and it would make sense with those two now having edited coded videos.]

15) Ethan Turns Mark Into a Werewolf - edited by rad_r

Two spectrograms are shown in this video; one at 14:08 and one at 17:38. Combined, they create an imgur link: https://imgur.com/a/gKB62sv

The imgur link shows a photo of a key. On the key is a code translating to “stop the clock”

At the end of the video before the timer is a set of text in the custom alphabet previously mentioned. Translated and decoded it translates to “I can hear it coming theres not much time left the ones that tried to stop it have had their hearts cleft it is now your turn to put this loop to rest take us out of here and show us a new nest”

(this is really long, if you want the tl;dr- lines from her song and from karnarks explanation make me think she hung from a tree for a bit. no one knew her cs she just moved to uranium a week b4 the accident and no one ever really had a chance to notice her.)

my much more in depth reasoning for jane hanging in the tree alive for a bit, plus how no one knew who she was:

how did she die?

in her song she sings “and from the ground beneath my feet i hear the anguish in the streets”. karnark says that the front axel (i tried googling what that is, i did not get very good results) broke and they fell from the top of the loop-de-loop, so the idea that shes falling feet first doesnt make much sense, and the idea that she gets stuck in the cart with her feet towards the ground doesnt make much sense either. i think she was definitely the last one to die, and ik that the head can hear for 7 seconds after being decapitated but i couldnt figure out a way for her head to be cut clean off, nothing really added up like that. plus, if it was just separated from her body and not destroyed, how did no one ever find it?

so i decided that the cart crashes into her head, squishing it into a million little pieces, killing her and allowing her to fall from the tree, unidentifiable and the last to die.

how did no one know her?

as we all know, uranium is a tiny town. in an early version of the opening song, they even say that theres only one main street. so if uranium is so small and everyone knew everyone, how did no one know jane?

i think that her and her family had just barely moved there, maybe for the same reason as oceans parents? maybe they just wanted to find a small rural town idk. jane joins the school and the choir a week before their performance/the accident, and father marcus lets her join because he thinks itll help her make friends. because she joined so late, her name isnt registered in the choir competition.

at the few choir practices that shes there for, she hangs around in the back with ricky. they noticed each other, but ricky couldnt talk and he never knew her name. in the afterlife, he knew what she looked like, but nothing about her (name personality likes dislikes etc) so he never mentioned that he knew her cause he didnt. the rest of the choir never noticed her.

(mischa- either skipping or on his phone. noel- arguing with ocean or missing cs of work. ocean- arguing with noel and being insane and stressed. constance- trying to keep noel and ocean from blowing up the place)

ok sure the choir but what about the rest of the school?

i think that jane couldve gotten mildly sick for a few days before the comp. if she had just moved to the school, and then disappeared for 2-3 days, and then died, she barely wouldve been noticed by anyone. no one knew her enough to notice her absence.

also, even if youre thinking the school keeping record of her tranferring, i think a lot of the town was very careless with records and in general keeping things safe. she couldve just not been ever mentioned anywhere.

her family???

this is the one thats actually stumped me. tbh i dont know and theres no real way to know, but if i had to come up with an explanation, i would say that she wasnt a planned kid, her parents were shitty, and they noticed she was gone but just never said anything bc they didnt care enough </3

ive also seen people bring up a little brother, but i dont know anything about legoland so im not going to go there, sorry.

❗️ what is important to them?

well bc he's double dead, he's lost a lot in his. 'life', and he knows how easily he could lose it all again, so he tries not to let anyone or anything get too close, just in case. he doesn't want to hurt them, doesn't matter how he feels. he doesnt want other people getting upset/hurt because of him. but with all of that said, he eventually found a reason to keep on going despite it all, his friends + family. and marcus most of all. if anything happened to him, he would no exaggeration blow up the world probably.

🎃 what would be their halloween costume?

slutty vampire. 100000000000% what else could it POSSIBLY be. even though he already looks like that most of the time. but get this: he'd have pointy teeth. can you imagine. god.

🍂 what outfits would they wear in different seasons?

no matter the weather it is black and a little slutty. in the cooler days/months, he wears a long black coat, which marcus says makes him look like 'a dracula'. when it's windy it looks like a cape. he loves it bc it make him look so dramatic. which he is.

when he's in his I Am No Longer Afraid To Live era he does wear more colours, only a handful though. and lots of flannels. blue jeans etc etc. so then he's no longer Dying Again in the heat.

sometimes it's nothing sometimes it's underwear. he doesnt care. he'll do whatever. it's fine. it's fine

🌈 what are their favorite colors?

he never had a favourite colour until he found out just how much marcus loved warm yellows. and well. his life has never been the same since. and deep/forest greens also.

💧 what do they do when theyre upset?

he tries so hard not to cry, and then it all builds up over time and he has a Big Breakdown™. he's working on expressing his feelings more though <3 we love an emotionally constipated king.

🎮 what do they do in their free time?

he likes to just vibe and listen to music, maybe even make a song or two. he would be Nothing without his guitar. he didn't pick it up for years and when he finally did, he remembered how happy it made him and he hasn't stopped since. love it for him

my thesis statement is that marcus wasn’t actually the one forcing her to have an abortion and he would’ve supported her no matter what.

i’ve become really good at reading body language since i’m f-ing deaf 😂 and HIS BODY LANGUAGE TELLS A STORY THAT THE MOVIE DOESNT. this boy is stupid (affectionate) and a slut (affectionate) but dammit he’s in love and it breaks my heart

you can tell through his body language, specifically when it comes to the 🤖 a-bor-tion 🤖 (if you get the reference you have a special place in my heart), that he’s uncomfortable with it. starting with the way he stays out of the clinic, keeps staring at that protester in front. it all screams to me “i’m here because i support you but i don’t like this”. and the movie kind of implies (or at least this is how i understood it) that he was forcing her to do it???? so that just doesn’t add up for me

also sweet baby tries his best to take care of her 🥺 he has a serious blood phobia and yet he lets her bleed all over his bed and even though he has something of a short temper he’s grieving and still trying his best 🥺 and he never once tells her that it was a bad choice or (from what i remember) pressures her either way.

to acknowledge the movie theatre scene, to me that’s the action of someone who’s already grieved losing his girl and is building up walls to avoid being hurt again. i know this from personal experience 😂

now to play devil’s advocate to my own thesis, the plot of the movie (and specifically what marcus’ role is supposed to be) seems like something that oscar doesn’t really vibe with so it could just be his own standards coming through and not actually the character showing emotion and remorse BUT. i’d like to believe that i’m right

Not long after joining the Volturi's coven, you had found out about your "mate". You had met him once before, though your first meeting ended up in a fit of nasty words and ended up leaving a hatred for each other. You knew that even though he was always like that, it still hurt in the slightest. Though when you and him argued you always found a way to make up some way or another. When words just didnt need to be said, a subtle glance in each others direction always seemed to do the trick. To not think about it alot, most of the time you would occupy your time with reading in the library. It was quiet and was very comfortable. One of the first places they had shown you and immediately you felt like this was the place you felt most at ease. You came here everyday. Not just to read but to think, to wonder what your family/friends were up to.

Luckily they had granted you a sliver of access to a phone, so that at anytime you could call your family or friends if need be. Which was once a week at most but if you felt like something was happening it would change to twice a week. The phone wasnt in the library but where the secretary was. She was a kind lady who didnt ask question and was quite calm about the fact she worked for vampires. You liked her but you knew one day she'd be gone and another would take her place. You always made sure to never be in the way of that. That being their feeding time or trials. So sticking to the library until aro or one of the guards came to inform you that they were through was the plan.

Alot of the time you would go and play chess with aro. You had never played before so it took alot of practice and patience for you to finally learn how to play. When you did however, aro had felt he met his match, so he requested you play every other day for a small competition. If he won you would have to join him and his brothers to a trial. If you won however he had to do whatever you wanted him to do. This went on as a silly little game of sorts that went on for months. That was until today. You joined aro for your annual game and decided to up the ante a bit. If you won he and his brother had to accompany you on a night out. To a dinner with all four of you and hopefully a movie if they were comfortable. He agreed and so did Marcus, they both loved the idea of going out for dinner even though you'd be the only one actually "eating". Aros request was always the same, come to a trial and watch. See what they do and how they go about disobedient vampires and all the little rule breakers. You gave it some thought until you also agreed. When you did you sealed it with a handshake and a giddy smile and wiggled in your seat. Just as you were about to start you hear a loud sigh right behind you. You turned and came face to face with a infuriated looking Caius. He shakes his head with an obvious scowl on his face. "Why must you always agree to these stupid little requests brother!? You always lose, I seem to think you do it on purpose." He says through clenched teeth "Well for your information, I seem to recall a certain conversation between us. Do you remember? Or is your memory your frailty?" He snaps his head back to the wall across from him. He slams his fists on the table and gets up. Rushing out of the room not even using his ability to run. Aro sighs out in utter frustration. "If only he was a bit more accepting than maybe we would be considered "normal". I am so very sorry for his behavior y/n." "Why should you be sorry for his outburst?" "We as brothers had a agreement with him not long ago. About a week or so ago. He doesnt want you coming to any of the trials as of the next few months." Confusion runs through your mind, but why your very much willing to attend but why would he care? "He does care for you y/n. More than I've ever seen him care for another." You scrunch up your face, how did he know. "Why would he act this way if he does care then?" He smiles slightly "We have some very dangerous people coming in the next few months. He's afraid they may see you and want to hurt you. Yes, we all are afraid of that but he is the most concerned." You look off to the side, contemplating whether or not you should go and confront him. Suddenly you feel a hand take yours "We can continue this-" he gestures at the chess board "-at some other time, go to him." You nod and get up.

There was only one place you could guess he was, the library. When you arrived there, you could clearly see the back of his head. His blonde hair laying flat against his back and shoulders. You approach him slowly, you could tell he knew you were there. He turns slightly, catching a glimpse of you. "What do you want?" He says not paying attention to you anymore. You walk up beside him and lean down, pushing aside his hair for a split second "What are yo-" he says but groans immediately as he feels your lips against the side of his neck. If he had a pulse surely it would be racing right now. He lays his head back against the chair, he sighs out and smiles slightly. You detach from him and go up to his ear and whisper “Stop being grumpy, it’s lame.” he groans again "Ugh why must you be so difficult?" You let out a short laugh "Why must you make things so hard for me. Make me believe you hate me, I truly thought that for the longest time. Listen, if you dont want me to go the trials I wont but you will go out and eat with me and the others. We can go get dinner, then we can come back. Maybe me and you can spend some time together, maybe I dont know try to get along better?" He clenches his jaw. "Thank you for understanding why I dont want you there. I'm sorry I make you feel unloved. I've never had a mate before, I've gone so long without one that I never knew what it was like to be loved. I never said I didnt want to go to the dinner, though sometimes your little requests are quite odd. I would also like spending time with you. I want to make this work." You smile and take his hand "I'm very glad, though I'm going to be honest with you. I could punch you right now, but I love you to much to hurt you, so maybe instead of doing that we can go get dinner and perhaps "make up"?" He smirks and squeezes your hand in his "I would like that." He says as he gets up and pulls you toward the library door "Now let's go see if you can beat aro yet again." You giggle slightly, maybe now you both can be "normal" then being at each others necks.
