My thoughts on MASM (Moon and Sun Minecraft)

So I watched basically the whole thing (skipped some gameplays) and honestly I had fun watching it. It sounds like the VAs are actually having fun and while there’s really no story they’re following I think that’s the best part. They’re kinda just going with whatever and you can still tell they’re just doing this for funsies I’m glad they are :) it’s fun to watch them goof around and such Oh and sorry but I am probably draw art abt it. I'm sorry but rahhh Moon and Sun's lovey dovey moments were so adorable. I guess this post is also answering what a lot of people have been asking me: Is your Sun and Moon brothers? No, they are not brothers. I was scared to answer this question publicly because of my short connection with the TSAMS fandom. I tried my best (and still am) to stay far away from that fandom. I'm sure most of you figured it out by now but for a long long time I grew uninterested with the way TSAMS has been running. Everything felt lazy and forced, like they were trying too hard keep the audience's attention while not progressing the story at all. With MASM, it feels different. Again, I've avoided it because I thought it was just TSAMS put into minecraft, but it turned out to be a little more different than I thought (by a little I mean they just reused some characters from TSAMS). What I think: There's no story they're trying to follow and they just love to goof around, and I absolutely love that. I enjoy watching people's videos when you can tell they are having fun with what they're doing.

Ironically, Bloodmoon x Sun. I have an Au of them and have seen different aus. I love it. Canon is a no for me tho.

I like how sun and moon kinda switched places- before moon was the one wanting to kill anyone who's a slight annoyance, but now sun seems to be like that. Like, when they first met killer sun, sun immediately told moon if he doesn't do anything, he's gonna kill him with NO hesitation

Killer sun seems to be a huge annoyance to sun.. it sort of reminds me of past nexus and past ruin, the ruin who acted insane

Past nexus HATED ruin, sun was the one who tried his best to not intervene and probably tried to get past nexus to not kill ruin (?? I forgot)

Now, moon is the one staying quiet.. that killer sun himself mentioned

Meanwhile, killer sun? He's just a silly guy, alr? 😭 HE'S JUST SILLY AND I SUPPORT HIS RIGHTS AND WRONGS

Another thing.. The mention of sun's adaptability is fascinating to me

Sun always seems to be the outcast/dumb one, but there's always ONE thing that surprises the others. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO EXPLAIN IT BETTER

Example is in that simulation- sure it's only a simulation, but the way merged sun+eclipse was surprised about sun's emotions

"I feel the need to kill that- thing! Yet I have this.. unending thankfulness.. is this what it's like to be sun?!"

I'm not sure if the need to kill moon in that simulation was a part of eclipse's or sun's emotions, but I think it could be both.

I always headcannoned that sun does feel a bit of resentment towards moon. I came to that conclusion by some of the things he says sometimes. They're brushed aside by most, but not with me :3

Example is when sun said to himself smt like- "two moons?? I can BARELY deal with on- okay no.. stop." Or something like that, I can't find the episode so not sure of the exact sentence.. but the way he STOPPED himself, it was like he was telling himself to stop being angry or to not hold a grudge

Yet, as the merged fellow said, he feels unending thankfulness at the same time which is seen by a lot of things-

That's just one of my personal headcanons, I feel that feeling too and I see myself A LOT in sun sooo

Have some MaSm drawings inspired by today’s video! I just wanted to draw something silly :)

In the last one, it’s basically just that they only had enough resources for two beds and Foxford already claimed the other bed. They wanted to skip through the night so they had to share a bed. The bed is cramped so might as well have some(most likely platonic) cuddles-

Sooo, yesterday's MASM episode, huh?

Why is Moonblock, Moonstone, whatever you wanna call him, the way he is? He doesn't make any sense! I'm not going to talk about anything they do in gaming videos, because that's just the VA's bullying eachother, like frinds do.

Pulling Sun along on their adventures as a way to try and bond, helping him (however reluctant that help may be) whenever Sunny goes to him for something, fixing him up during the night, while Sun is sleeping, knowing and making him his favourite cookies (once), wingmanned him a handful of times (the one where he told Sun, Roxy and Foxy to go get ice cream, which turned into the Roxy and Sun date episode, was very sweet of him) ect.

But then turning around, calling him mean names, yelling at him, hitting him, laughing and encouraging when others are jackasses to him (like when Bonnie hung him from the ceiling, and he was up there for days. crying.), joining in on when a child as a form of playing, wanted to stab him - and yeah, sure, he may be made of metal and plastic, so he would've been mostly fine if the kid stabbed him, but just like with the rabbit shooting him with fake bullets, that still hurts, - stabbing him just in general with a sword, blowing him up, letting others shove grass and weeds down his throat and jumping on him from higher and higher with more and more force (which actually could've seriously injured him. they're heavy machines, who were not made to whitstand other heavy machines jumping on them), hitting him and letting him be hit by others with a shopping cart, that half-assed apology in 'Sun Begins His VILLAIN ARC With Eclipse??!!' episode, which kind of sounded condescending if you ask me, basically going "Welp, I tried" when Sun still refused to go back "home", and all the other other sins the little space rock has, but we'd be here all night and I have to watch my bloodpressure.

He clearly wants to be friends with Sun, or at least wants to spend time with him, as I already mentioned. He wants to be close-ish with him. And he claims he likes him, just like how he likes everyone else in the Plex.

But that just feels like he said it, one so Sun wouldn't leave, and two so he doesn't have to directly tell him he likes him.

He sometimes acts almost exactly like the stereotypycal *giggling and kicking feet in the air* "My crush/bestest friend forever and meee <3", but in the most assholeish Karen way of "If A bOy PuLlS yOuR hAiR aNd Is BuLlYiNg YoU! ThAt MeAnS hE iS cRuShInG oN yOu!"

Like, "Oooh I'll write me and Sun's name together as the password🥰! But throw in someone else's name aswell, so if he ever finds out I can just say it's me and my two friends!!"

Make it make sense!

This post was meant to be about how the way everyone acted in yesterday's episode 'Sun Continues His VILLAIN ARC And Plans REVENGE...' felt heavily like it was backtracking. But I kind of got sidetracked with talking about the little space rock.

How "Yeah, I only was an ass to you and abused, so you would reach your literal breaking point, snap and go join Eclipse, so I could try and catch him. Proud of ya, or whatever I'm supposed to say, here's a plush... Still going to shoot you. Because why not." and "Ohh ya know, stabbing people is just Foxy's way of showing he loves you! Classic Foxy teehee!" just felt like some poor attempt at damage control. Same with suddenly everyone wanting to hang out with Sun, the one time he wanted to be left alone.

I'm not counting Freddy, his IQ is room temperature on good days, and I mean it in the nicest of ways. As nice as can be.

But why do suddenly everyone else want to hang out with Sun, like he's suddenly the most interesting of people. Though they're still hitting him with gokarts, insisting they need to look at something at the back of his head (a bump which may or may not have even been there), and when he rejected the idea of them looking at his head, clearly uncomfortable, they surrounded him, held him down, and forcibly checked his head and then fixed(?) it.

And then when he wanted to be alone again to cry, they still wouldn't leave him be. The rabbit actually wanted to watch.

In short, because I truly lost where I was going with this post and just started ranting, yesterday's episode felt like everyone attempting to backtrack a little, but falling back into the comfortable habits, the little space rock confuses me (what do you want?! do you want to be friends? do you want to hold hands with him in the most romantic of ways? do you just view him as a sentient punching bag?! do you just want to keep him around and fix him up, so he can do all the daycare stuff so you don't have to?!), I hate the rabbit so much, same with the gator and the fox, disappointed in the others, and Sunblock. Deserves. Justice.

New Moon (Nexus) x Old Moon x Moonlight (EAPS Moon) x Moonstone (Dark Sun's Moon) x Mooncraft (MASM Moon)

That's the entire Full Moon poly. They're all the gay dorky ass nerd of the poly.

Nexus is the one everyone spoils because he's been through some shit frfr. Nexus likes to make everyone watch anime with him cuz he's the weeb of the group. He makes everyone coffee with his amazing coffee skills and the custom mugs he made them. Old Moon's Mug has one of those Magic Mugs that when it has coffee in it there's text that says 'Are you made of Au, Ti, S, Ti, C cuz you looking kinda Autistic'. Moonlight's Mug has gaming references all over it. Moonstone's Mug has a moonflower on it because to Nexus, Moonstone is baby. Mooncraft's Mug has the Minecraft Creeper as a picture on it as a joke and a reference how absolutely chaotic and unpredictable he can be.

Old Moon tries his absolute best to spoil everyone because he feels like he was the worst Moon out of all of them and he doesn't want to hurt them either. Moon like to build things for everyone from sofas to little figures. He's band from the kitchen unless he's making sandwiches because other food that looks like a sandwich because a fae cursed him is to much for Moonstone and Mooncraft's sensory issues. Nexus's trinket is a little star shaped bell he likes to jiggle for fun like a cat. Moonlight's trinket is a custom remote control for his big ol' hands. Moonstone's trinket is a moon (like the one in the sky) plush that he can hug and squeeze for comfort. Mooncraft's trinket is a custom rubix cube that Moon made because Mooncraft seems to really like rubix cubes but most are too easy for him.

Moonlight is the goofiest one trying to make everyone laugh because none of them have had it easy. Moonlight has made everyone blankets because they all deserve some comfort and he's the only one that still a DCA. Nexus's blanket is purple with little stars all over it. Old Moon's blanket has chemistry equations on it for fun. Moonstone's blanket has a moonpie on it cuz to Moonlight, Moonstone is his little moonpie. Mooncraft's blanket has the Minecraft Warden on it.

Moonstone is the kindest and most timid of the poly. Moonstone often gives everyone cuddles and kind affirmations because he feels they need it. Moonstone likes to bake sweets for everyone frequently. He often makes Nexus fudge because he's apparently obsessed with chocolate. He often makes Old Moon freeze dried skittles to eat like popcorn. He often makes Moonlight chocolate chip cookies cuz Moonlight likes the classics. He often makes Mooncraft redvelvet cupcakes because Mooncraft became addicted after trying them for the first time.

Mooncraft was the last one to join the poly and often feels guilty for what he did to Suncraft. Mooncraft often likes to experiment (with consent and supervision) and pull pranks (not on Moonstone he's too sensitive). Mooncraft is the best cook for normal food but isn't aloud alone in the kitchen. He often makes Nexus sushi roles because he knows how much Nexus loves it. He often makes Old Moon grilled cheese because Old Moon says it tases better when Mooncraft makes it. He often makes Moonlight tacos because Moonlight often likes Mexican foods. He often makes Moonstone spicy dishes because despite being the most timid and shy he loves food with hot sauce and other spicy cuisine like curry.

Moonlight and Nexus started the poly then Old Moon joined. Later Moonstone was revived to go retrieve Nexus but joined the poly and was saved from Dark Sun. Mooncraft was the last to join as mentioned in an older ask Mooncraft was looking for a happy Moon. They all live in a bunker that Old Moon got sometimes getting visits from the SAMS family.

Hi, first publication is a CRAZY THEORY I have, but maybe it has sense, idk, you tell me.

I feel like what dark sun that affected that 35% of universes, included this one… if we check really closely what happened in “Moon’s NIGHTMARE encounter While Hunting Dark Sun” we see not ONLY sun begging to have an excessive hate for moon, but moon also suddenly wanting to shut him down (it is not really clear still, we still don’t know a lot about it, but if it was sudden, a sudden hate or annoyance, this could have more sense); and, maybe this is also making moons not caring about their ‘family’ or suns, just like nexus, who now only saw Sun like a tool and an obstacle; not to mention, that in MaSM sun also gets away really sudden, with reasons ofc, rlly good ones, but I believe this universe might be getting affected too, because, as we know, suns tend to be the heart, the voice of reason, the happy one? Yeah, but the most morally correct one after all, although MaSM sun doesn’t only get away but begins becoming aggressive, blood thirsty after g.bunny, having the urge to beat him up HARD, to make him suffer, like that one sun TSAMS moon visited and the MaSM moon, as I mentioned before, seems to stop caring about his sun, not really caring that he left in the episode where he almost joins eclipse.

So, my theory is that Suns are beginning to hate moons so much explicitly than before, also getting aggressive, UNSTABLE, and trying to hurt/kill them; while moons are getting careless about their family/suns, wanting to only take advantage of them or getting rid of them; I also believe this is affecting our universe as well, before all this, Moon was beginning to open more with sun and trying to help them, but after what happened he’s slowly becoming careless about him.

Okay I’ve been trying to draw this for who-knows-how-long, but I just kept forgetting I was drawing it while drawing it, and doing something else instead

But I finally doodled some lil design imaginations of Sun and Moon…

Firstly, Sun

I kinda imagine his body’s more like… a hard doll? Idk like wooden maybe? But he’s still an animatronic that’s just how his outer casing feels. He also kind of has retractable hands, so he can swap em out for different things, which I doodled some examples on the side (normal hands, feather dusters, lil grabby claw, vacuum - which the vacuum empties from his chest)

There wasn’t much I had for Sun (at least that I remember) cus I kept getting distracted the most while drawing him

Then there’s Moon

I imagine he has more of a plush feel to his body (since Moons are typically started off as the Naptime attendant on these kind of things) so his face and hands are more plushy

(So I imagine when he does his tech stuff, he has to wear tough gloves so he doesn’t tear the fabric of his hand)

(Also still animatronic, just a plush outer casing) (it’s like how I imagine Lefty’s body to be on EAPS but we’re not talking about the Security Breach Shows rn)

(Also mid-typing I decided it’d be better to imagine Moon with one of those tough… porcelyn? Faces, while the rest of him’s a plushy material)

Also, both of them have glowy forearms & waist & wrist ribbons

also, funny thing: I don’t watch MASM.

I already watch SAMS, LAES, and EAPS, and I don’t know if I could mentally handle the mentality of having to watch all of 4 daily shows instead of 3

So I only occasionally glance at MASM, and I’m slightly invested in Moon’s interest in Sun. (you got this lil gay boy, but dang are you so bad at it XD)

And also I’m pretty sure the thing that made me go back to checking on their channel was when this artist I’m subscribed to was doing voice claims for their characters of their SAMS x Dandy’s World AU, and Moon’s voice claim was the Moon from MASM, and the line of him saying “I’m gonna go bake more cookies!” In what sounded like a near-sob tone was so cute for me from the last time I had heard that Moon, so I was like “I need to know what’s going on here” XD

But yeyeye I’m just gonna leave this here

May I hear your thoughts on what would happen if sun joined eclipse? (Masm)

Ohohoh alright. I only have some vague ideas and vibes so apologies if it some things don't make sense or my ideas are scattered.

Sun can't bear all the bullying and straight up abuse at time anymore. Everyone at the pizzaplex either hurt him or doesn't do anything to defend him.

He's had enough.

Eclipse takes this as an opportunity to torment the two people he hates the most. He can see the anger and resentment in Sun's eyes. So he approaches him with sweet words and promises.

Sun's is a bit mistrustful, he knows better than to call Eclipse a friend after what he's done. But it can't be worse than all his friends and coworkers bully him so he accepts.

Sun helps Eclipse devise evil plans. He knows everyone's weakness, their habits. He knows where Moon's secret lab is. He can take his revenge.

Sun is only a mean to an end for Eclipse. Of course he plans on getting rid of him too once he gets what he wants. But. If he understand Sun feeling unwanted and abandoned. Well that his problem and it won't impact his plans at all. Nope. He totally isn't imagining him and Sun ruling over the pizzaplex.

Anyway somewhere down the line Sun and Eclipse grows closer due to understanding each other.

Expect plans to enact revenge go between silly and absolutely cruel (and of course Moon will be sent at least once to the backrooms).

Of course Moon is hurt and feels betrayed. He can't understand why Sun would join Eclipse.

It all ends when they finally confront each other in a yelling match. It was the ultimate attack that was supposed to end Moon.

Moon says he doesn't understand and thought they were friends. Of course Sun gets enraged at that and laughs in his face. He proceeds to list off every single thing Moon has done to him. Every time he hurt him, called him stupid, used him as his test subject. How he's been the pizzaplex's punching bag. It makes Moon think and realize how far he's taken his "teasing" and how cruel he's been to Sun. How everyone has been but he had let it happen.

Moon apologizes. Truly apologizes. And everyone follow suite (except Monty. Idk why but I have a feeling he wouldn't apologize lmao) It ends with Sun crying. All he wanted was to be friends. It would take some time but Sun is willing to give Moon a chance to repair their relationship.

Eclipse has witnessed everything of course. Now it's his time to feel betrayed. It wasn't supposed to end like this. He thinks Sun has abandoned him now that he's back with Moon.

Eclipse retreats to brood, unseen and unheard. His hatred for Sun and Moon even bigger than before.

He doesn't hear Sun calling for him to present him to everyone.

I cannot be the only one who was way uncomfortable with the Moon confessing his feelings to Sun ep of masm because genuinely Suns concerns about Moon getting hostile if he rejects him made me feel so ick. It sucks cause I ship them so hard but like... Girl... I'm also baffled most of this fandom cared about Moon getting his heart broken and not Suns concerns for his own safety in this situation.

(Not the mention the whole "he could invent a robot to hold me down" line cause genuinely really and truly what the actual fuck. Like maybe I'm just reading into this weird but like how the hell else was that supposed to be interpreted????)

I feel bad for Roxanne (masm)

Tldr at bottom if you’re lazy lmao

Honestly, I feel bad for her, I don’t like Roxanne, and I never really have ever since her introduction, but since the most recent episode I honestly just feel bad for her, she got caught up in Sun and Moon’s whole thing with each other, Moon tried killing her when he went yandere even though it’s not her fault Sun liked her (I say liked since Sun basically confirmed he doesn’t like her anymore, he said it near the end of the episode).

I know Roxanne kinda manipulated (?) Sun into thinking she likes him back, and there’s plenty of proof for this, but that isn’t the point, I’m not defending Roxy since I still really don’t like her but I’ve seen her get a lot of hate as of recently because she was “ruining the relationship between Sun and Moon”

Like damn, some of these Sun x Moon shippers are wild.. I stopped shipping them a while ago when I realised it was kinda toxic (I don’t ship Sun x Roxy either tho.) I’m not saying all Sun x Moon shippers are like that and if you still like their.. dynamic? That’s okay, I’m not trying to judge anyone, but the point is that Roxy, even though she’s not really doing anything particularly bad, kept being targeted, not just in masm but also by the fan base.

I wanna say a lot more but it’s kinda hard for me to put it into words so I’m sorry if this little rant was kinda confusing-

I’m not necessarily hating on masm and what Davis and Reed chose to do as I think it’s valid how they went along with the ship, after all, remember what Dark Sun said? It was doomed from the start. I still miss how things were before Roxy, Foxy and Bonnie and it was just Sun and Moon and things were less chaotic and silly, but I’ll keep watching from afar to see how deep the story goes, even if I don’t watch every video.

Anyways, just wanted to put my thoughts out here, but please, whether you agree or disagree with my opinion or not, please do not go harass Davis, Reed, Flora, and Matt for any decision they have made with the series. If you don’t like masm, don’t watch it, if you do, keep watching it, you have free will. Please do not harass the creators and writers. They’re human like everyone else.

Tl;dr- I don’t like how Roxy kept getting targeted by everyone, SOME Sun x Moon shippers are kinda toxic, Sun x Moon was doomed from the start, None of this is Roxy’s fault (even though I still don’t like her), and whether you like masm or not don’t harass the creators for their choices. So, Masm seed au-

who spawned the egg first or did it just popped out of nowhere like a regular mob spawn egg? (I don’t play Minecraft.)

So in the origins mod, the mod from the video this au is based from, Avians lay eggs at night while asleep. Sun(in both the au and the original video) is an Avian.

Now when it comes to why THAT egg, I’ll just call it a ‘hatchling egg,’ is specifically spawned is because of my spin for the au in the first place. The seeds. (Seeds do NOT have these effects on players in the Origins mod, it’s something I made up for the Au)

These have two purposes in the au, I’ve already established the main effect of the seeds on Sun and Moon alone. What I HAVEN’T told is how they also factor into spawning a hatchling egg-

Hatchling eggs need 3 things to be made:

Seeds

A room with 3+ beds in it

2 parent ‘bird’ players(at least 1 has to be an Avian)

This is because in Minecraft birds need seeds to breed, but villagers only need to be fed well enough to breed and 3+ beds in a house. I combined this in the most confusing way-

So for a hatchling egg, 2 ‘bird’ origin players(with at least one Avian) need to eat seeds until they get the heart effects, and then they need to sleep in the same ROOM with 3+ beds for 1 Minecraft night. This will cause the egg that the Avian lays the next night over to be a hatchling egg. There’s a one day gap between the triggering event and the egg laying where the Avian will have slowness 2 and faster depleting hunger, the avian themselves will be more tired throughout the day. They will also struggle to go to bed immediately the night they’re expected to lay the hatchling egg due to stomach pains.

The hatchling egg itself takes about a week to hatch. During the entire week Sun(the Avian) will be disgusted whenever he tries to snack on seeds(he snacked on them before Moon ever ate any seeds).

(I’m sorry if this is too long, I wanted to check all my bases for you and went a bit overboard-)

(Note for others: In MaSm, Sun and Moon have established that they do NOT see each other as related)

One of the weirdest arguments against ships is "that'll never be canon" because of course it won't, why would I only ship things that could happen?

And more over that seems to imply that the perfect ship should be something in an ongoing piece of media that could happen

Which, shipping characters for an ongoing piece of media is risky due to possibilities like, they grow a sibling dynamic, one dies, it turns out a character is older than you thought, you grow to hate the one character etc

And many ships I like are queer, or with characters that aren't the main focus, or in a Media that wouldn't have romance with that type of character, or the characters have never met

And the most blaring thing is this "perfect ship" needs to be something that is possible for canon, meaning it's; ongoing, the characters are alive and able to see each other, and would make sense for the world

Which is dumb, I like mostly content that's been over for a long time, or is a short one and done, and more often from a time where a lot of these ships wouldn't be put in, from queer relationships to different romance standards

And there are ships the creator doesn't like even if they go against their own words and ship something similar with their characters *cough ZaDr* or when a ship is a little too...risque?; enemies to lovers, brainwashing, body sharing, godlike control, interspecies, toxic relationships, masochism, non-traditionally attractive couples, etc

Overall I don't need to be told that a ship wouldn't happen in canon, I don't want it to. Even if it does it often leads to... Making things awkward *cough MaSm*
