So I can't stop thinking about the character joining lines like you mentioned earlier. Like, I've thought about them all day, just who would interact with who, what they would say, etc etc. My favorites that I made up are probably 1) Klee joining Jean and immediately going "I promise I didn't do it this time" and Jean is a suspicious "what do you mean?" And 2) Faruzan joining Wanderer and complaining about how he broke her gadget in that one sumeru event ("you still owe me an apology, young man!")
It's honestly made my day a little better <3
ohhh i love the faruzan one, that would be so funny her lecturing him akjsbcjk
but yea theres sm potential ughh like wanderer and childe joining and wanderer is just all dry "this is a joke"
the oldest archon and the youngest archon interacting!
or kaveh joining haitham and kaveh goes
youtube
rlly wish we had these interactions like hsr, it would be so cool aaa

@immobiliter: Port Ormos was the usual chaotic hive of activity, sailors and students of the Akademiya and mercs all gathered together in one cacophonous hub. Dehya didn't often frequent the port, but a particularly interesting merc contract had been forwarded to the Blazing Beasts that had kept her here longer than she'd intended to stay. A personal request for her services from a sea captain in Liyue — claiming to have seen her skills in action apparently. Escorting a delivery across the desert was a reliable job for mora, but across an ocean? It was new and exciting, and hadn't she talked for weeks about wanting to travel to new places?
Upon finally meeting her employer, however, Dehya's curiosity was piqued even more. Not some grizzled older sea captain, but a woman. Bold and assured, giving orders as confidently as she herself would command her Beasts. “ I gotta say... these are generous terms for an armed escort on board your ship, captain. ” Dehya held the newly signed contract in her hand ( from the nation of contracts itself: she had no reason to doubt that this Captain Beidou would honour her end of their deal ), but her eyes were more drawn towards the slew of men and women who were making final preparations on the wharf to set off back towards their ship. This wasn't to be her usual kind of bodyguard gig, huh. “ Though I can't help but notice you and your men seem more than capable of defending yourselves. ”
Tumblr media
If there is one thing Beidou has learned over her years at sea, it is always, always, worth taking on extra hands with local knowledge. Often, these extra hands come in the form of other sailors, borrowed from crews that can spare them, or those hopeful souls seeking a life upon the ocean but yet to secure a ship to call home.
This time, however, she has sought the expertise of someone who couldn't be farther from a sailor if she tried. Some might question why a sea captain required the assistance of a desert mercenary - and, in truth, there was a certain degree of curiosity involved. She'd heard tales of Dehya and her Blazing Beasts prior to her arrival in Port Ormos. Who could blame her for wanting to see the Flame-Mane for herself?
Tumblr media
"Full pockets make for happier crewmates than empty ones." The captain shrugs a shoulder lightly, an easy smile upon her face as she studies the woman standing before her. Every bit the warrior she expected, Dehya strikes an imposing figure with an unmistakable presence to her. Already, Beidou knows they're going to get along great.
At the mercenary's observation, she barks out a hearty laugh, hands settled upon her hips as she, too, quickly scans her crew at work. "Ah, but it never hurts to have another set of capable hands at the ready, no?" There's a wink delivered from her only visible eye. "You never know what you're going to come across out on the water, after all."
She leans in closer, lowering her voice to a more conspiratorial whisper. "And I confess, I can never resist the opportunity to check out a local legend."

H H EY GUYS GUESS WHAT. I HAVE AN IDEA 🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠😝😝😝😝😛😛
SO I WAS REALLY OBSESSED WITH GRAVITY FALLS AS A KID (AND STILL AM TODAY) AND MY GENSHIN HYPERFIXATION IS NOW EXACTLY HOW IT WAS BACK IN LATE 2020. SO NOW, IMAGINE THIS:
DIPPER AND MABEL AS VISION HOLDERS. DIPPER WOULD BE DENDRO AND MABEL WOULD (PROBABLY) BE ELECTRO
in addition:
imagine them interacting with other characters in the game. imagine Mabel and Klee bonding and Dipper and Jean having to step in. imagine them wishing Kaeya and Diluc would be on good terms again after hearing their story...
imagine Mabel quickly befriending Hu Tao. imagine Dipper and Zhongli having a long, extensive talk about history, regrets and memories, as well as putting up with Mabel and Hu Tao. They both bond over the "she drives me crazy but i love her and i want to protect her" feeling.
the twins quickly befriending Yoimiya, Thoma, and the Kamisatos. Dipper and Ayato talking about wanting to protect their siblings from the world, Ayato talking about how he had to grow up super fast to provide for his family and that he hopes Dipper and Mabel never have to go through what Ayato and Ayaka did. Dipper and Albedo talking about alchemy and such bc i think they'd get along well.
Dipper staying in the library at the Akademiya for hours on end trying to uncover every mystery about Teyvat while Mabel bonds with Nilou, Candace and Dehya. Dipper being a little... off-put? by Alhaitham but eventually realizing he isn't a BAD guy. The twins getting into some trouble in the Avidya forest and Tighnari and Collei come to their rescue. Tighnari is upset with Mabel especially bc she... ate a poisonous mushroom (this girl has eaten stickers before and that Mabel Juice thing in Sock Opera has plastic dinosaurs in it so... she probably thinks she can stomach way more than she actually can)
ANYWAY THE HYPERFIXATIONS ARE HYPERFIXATING NWUDHAHFH

They're coming. Dehya cast her gaze over the sand dune that was currently concealing them from view. True enough, the caravan began rolling forward, flanked by two men at the rear, two at the front. She was already thinking along much the same lines as Al-Haitham: they seemed like the regular, run-of-the-mill mercs, no visions, probably quite easy to overpower in a fight. Except that she didn't particularly want to fight them. These men weren't a part of Dakan Al-Ahmar; they were only transporting the goods that those men had stolen in cold blood. What she needed from this group was information, not a bloodbath.
“ I'm ready. ” She nodded at Al-Haitham's suggestion, reaching up to remove her own scarf and reveal her face before leaping into action. Sometimes her own notoriety here in the desert worked to her advantage: if these men recognised her as the Flame Mane, they might be able to bring this ambush to a swift and merciful conclusion. Most mercs were reasonable people, after all, just doing what they had to in order to get by. She wanted to give them a chance — and the choice.
Dehya did not summon her claymore immediately, climbing over the top of the sand dune and down with all the ease of a woman who had been navigating this terrain her entire life. Ensuring that she was just ahead of the caravan, she rounded on them and stepped into their path, blocking the way forward . Only as she stared them down did she finally resonate with the pyro vision hanging from her hip. Her cat-like gaze flashed as she summoned flames to encircle the group, leaping up out of nowhere from the sands to form a wall, hemming them in.
Trusting that Al-Haitham was behind the caravan ready to strike if necessary, Dehya took another step forward, meeting the gaze of the two in front. Understandably perhaps, they both began to panic — but whilst one remained still, the other immediately drew his weapon and rushed forward. In one swift movement, Dehya's vision glowed and her claymore appeared in her hands, which she brought down with enough force to not only parry the blade he swung at her, but force it out of his hands. Before he could pick it back up, her claymore once again vanished and she grabbed the front of the merc's shirt with her fist, shoving him backwards and onto the sand. There. Hopefully that would deter him from doing anything else stupid. She stepped back, sparing the one who wisely hadn't attacked yet with a sharp look, as if daring him to end up spitting out sand just like his colleague.
“ We can do this the easy way or we can do this the hard way. ” Dehya lowered the hood of her cloak. Recognition seemed to finally dawn on the two in front. Good. “ Dakan Al-Ahmar... I know they're paying you handsomely to move their cargo around the desert for them, but I need you to tell me what this is all for. And where to find them. ”
Perhaps al-Haitham's pragmatism is cruel in a moment like this. Perhaps it is no wonder, really, than those who know him and those who don't all agree to call him cold-hearted, too rational, robotic, almost, unfeeling, certainly. Al-Haitham has no time or energy to spend on debunking those assumptions, and certainly no interest in it. Maybe a part of him even accepts this assessment. But isn't pragmatism a kindness, in such a terrible situation? Kusayla is Dehya's father. The whole affair is cruel enough that he doesn't need to add to it with unnecessary questions and considerations she alone has any right to judge. What he can offer, is a cool head, a clear view on their adventure, and a plan.
Al-Haitham knows that, were the tables turned, he would hate all and any undue, awkward sympathy and good sentiments. Sympathy and good sentiments don't fix anything.
Tumblr media
One hour after their agreement, they meet again. Six hours later, they are well into the labyrinthine dunes of the desert. They move quickly, efficiently - al-Haitham knows his way around the desert and would deem himself capable enough when it comes to navigating it, but watching Dehya guide them through the scorching immensity is a humbling experience to say the least. He is fast enough to keep up with her, but his is a learned experience. Hers is second nature. Eventually, they find their way to the route the caravan is taking - they are ahead of schedule, just enough to set up in hiding. Cloaks cover them up, helping them blend with the sand around them. Al-Haitham's eyes are fixed upon the pathway down the dune, attentive as a hawk awaiting its prey.
"They're coming." He murmurs, barely audible over the winds sweeping across the dunes - their only mercy under the unforgiving sun. His gloved hand moves to his side, dendro vision conjuring a sword from elemental particles solidifying in his palm. He squints at the caravan. "I recognise those seals on the crates. Definitely stolen goods. Looks like your intel paid off." There are four men moving along with the merchandise; all armed, not a single one of them equipped with a vision as far as he can tell. Not that it should encourage carelessness and over-confidence, but that is an additional advantage they have over them. Even if the scribe is fairly confident he and Dehya could easily overpower them even without they own.
Al-Haitham brings his scarf over his nose and mouth - a mere precaution against flying sand. If he is capable of kicking sand in someone's face to gain an advantage, he is quite sure someone else could think about it too. "Best you show yourself first. I'll take the rear and cut off passage if they don't realise they shouldn't run when you're speaking to them. Ready?"

okay so hear me out i have a genius idea
yanqing in sumeru. (yes, the obvious option would be to put him in liyue, but i honestly don't feel like writing that right now).
yanqing and cyno interactions.
YANQING AND WANDERER INTERACTIONS.
now that i've caught your attention-
yanqing falls through a wormhole or something. ends up stranded in sumeru. like, right in sumeru city. he wakes up in an alleyway and is like genuinely, what the mcflipping fuck. so he wanders through sumeru, talks to a few people who have NEVER heard of the xianzhou luofu, and eventually, someone reports him to the corps of 30 because there is an unsupervised foreign child who keeps on talking about a xianzhou luofu, what the FUCK is a xianzhou luofu.
they take him in to the matra, he answers a couple of questions, EVERYONE involved is confused as shit, so they pull out cyno. yanqing talks to him and hes like. you remind me of my dad. hahaha. and cyno is like. okay this kid is telling the truth. so we're gonna have to keep him around until we figure out a way to send him back to the luofu.
(this gets really long)
he does not want to go into a fucking rainforest, so he ends up rooming with kaveh & alhaitham after spending a few nights with nahida and bonding with her (i believe they r friends,,,) and she reccomends that he go to stay with them. yanqing is very polite and doesn't make his prsence known a lot because he is genuinely kind of afraid of the two of them even tho they are really nice to him, and one day he goes out and he just wanders through the streets of sumeru and bumps into the wanderer. he introduces himself as 'hat guy' and a friend of nahida's, so yanqing is like, oh, cool. wait, what? your name is HAT GUY?
cue bullying wanderer. and wanderer is like, this kid doesn't know who he's fucking talking to wtf and maybe they end up sparring or something. i think they would bond over fighting and yanqing would pick up a few tips and tricks from wanderer, who probably is secretly like, 'this kid has talent what the fuck where did this child even come from'. eventually after they spar for a bit yanqing ends up telling him more about the xianzhou and from that interaction with wanderer, he starts to come out of his shell more. he eats dinner with kaveh and alhaitham, and gets used to their bickering. he goes to see cyno again and meets tighnari and collei, even faruzan who probably takes a liking to him. people take him to nilou's shows. when candace and dehya visit from the desert he gets to meet them too.
and slowly, over time, they start to get to know him more. he tells them stories of the high cloud quintet, from their rise to their fall. he tells them about the borisin, and hoolay, and feixiao. he tells them about jiaoqiu and his bravery, sushang and her determination, huohuo and tail. he tells them about yunli's bravery and brashness, about jing yuan's patience and slyness, of moze's shennanigans and loyalty.
he tells them broken bits and pieces of stories and then, he tells them about the xianzhou history. he tells them about mara. he tells them about how he's had to cut down soldiers so much older than him that he wouldn't even know when they were born.
he tells them about the disciples of abundance, in little, clipped stories.
and they listen.
he draws his friends, too. he's not too great at it, but he draws them, and tells cyno that he reminds him so much of his dad. he plays tcg with them, joins them for game night. drags wanderer into social interactions, explores sumeru, watches the sun set from the trees.
he makes them little mementos of himself. he commissions someone to make a little bird charm out of materials he gathers up. and then he gives them to his friends, and when jing yuan inevitably comes to see him home (he wants to go back, he loves it here but he loves his home more) they will be able to remember him.
yanqing learns that defeat is okay. he learns that he can be loved. and that people are really complex, and that love can be shown in different ways. yanqing learns that he can love, too. :)
wow this turned way longer than i thought it would so uh. hope u enjoy my nonsensical ramblings!

MIKO
As a young kitsune, Miko was unable to transform into her human form due to a lack of strength and natural willpower. So, it was common for the yokai to be seen wandering around the shrine as a small fox, eating little snacks given to her by the shrine maidens, and terrorizing tiny children like the menace she was.
You’ve heard stories of a pink fox roaming the Narukami Shrine, but you didn’t think much of it when you sat down at a nearby bench to enjoy your lunch. Pulling out a small packet of your favorite chips, you tore it open before hearing a slight, rustling sound coming from within the bushes.
Rustle rustle rustle.
You looked up to see one of the bushes in front of you moving, the branches shaking wildly before something pink and fluffy tumbled out from below.
A pink, fluffy, fox.
Miko had stumbled out of the plant with her fur all messy and tousled with leaves. A small yip leaving her mouth, as she shook like a wet dog and growled. Oh no, you’ve heard of this fox before. This was the terror of the Narukami Shrine, the infamous child attacker of Inazuma, the one, the only:
Yae Miko.
She sneezed as leaves blew out of her fur, before twitching her nose at the smell of your food. Once she caught a whiff of what you had in your lap, her eyes narrowed and she started glaring at you. Damn, even as a child, Miko still had that intimidating glare that could put an archon in their place, intimidating you with just a scowl before strutting up to you with confidence.
“…Hello?” You timidly say, looking down at the fox with worry. “You’re…you’re the fox that attacks kids, right? Please don’t hurt me, I’m just trying to eat my lunch.”
She narrowed her eyes at you. Even though she couldn’t speak, it felt like she was degrading you.
“…Uhm. Do you want some? I can give you some if you like.”
Her tummy grumbled at an embarrassing time, causing her to only flatten her ears.
“…Okay.” You timidly reached into your bag and pulled out a small chip. Hesitantly, you held it out to her and waited for her to crawl up to you. “I hope it’s not that salty. I know kitsune taste buds can be pretty sensitive, so it’s okay if you don’t like it—”
She lunged forward to sniff the chip before biting onto it and gnawing like a dog. Cronch cronch cronch. She had crumbs spill all over the floor, but she seemed pretty satisfied overall, looking up at you for more. “Oh! Do you want some more?” She nodded, her tail starting to wag. “I can give you more, then!”
You ended up sharing half your lunch with the kitsune. Throwing her whatever you found in your lunchbox, and watching her devour it on the floor of the shrine. After a while, she seemed to have taken a liking to you and jumped on the bench beside you to lie down, letting out a content, purring noise. After that little interaction, you started coming to the shrine more often to feed and hang out with the little fox. Weeks passing by of this little friendship, you didn’t think your routine would change until one, fateful, day.
As you climbed up the steps leading to your favorite spot, you saw not the fox you’ve grown so accustomed to, but a small, pink haired girl around your age. She was waiting patiently on the bench you always sat at, before her ear twitched, indicating that she noticed you.
Turning around, she had those same lilac eyes as your little foxy friend, as  they glimmered in a way that felt so familiar to you the more you stared.
“Finally, you came!” The girl said exasperatedly, folding her arms and pouting at you. “I was waiting all day! You keep a girl hungry, you know.”
“I— sorry?” You looked so confused when she ran up to you and grabbed your lunch. “Hey—!”
“So, what did you bring this time? Fried tofu for Friday? I hope so…”
“Hey! Those are for my fox friend!” You exclaimed, snatching your lunchbox back. “I don’t even know you!”
“Are you dumb? I am your fox friend!” The girl yelled back, tugging the lunchbox back. “It’s me, Yae Miko!”
“Miko?!” Your eyes widened and you took a step back. No way, how could this bratty and sassy child be Yae Miko? “No way…”
“Yes way! I was able to transform into my human form the other night. I’m strong enough now!” She grinned proudly and showed off her canine teeth. Although a bit bratty and too overconfident, you could tell it was actually her due to her unique markings and fluffy, pink, ears. “Now, hand over the tofu! I’ve been waiting all week for this!”
You pouted and handed her the takeout box with tofu inside. “…Fine.”
She grinned and looked at you smugly before taking the carton out of your hands. “Thank you…!” She began eating with the elegance of a toddler before pausing her chewing mid way. “By the way, since I can talk now, I’ve been wanting to ask you something.”
“Huh?” You gasped when she suddenly jumped on top of you and looked at you with those curious eyes.
“I’ve decided I want to marry you when we get older.”
“What?!”
She smiled at you before hugging you close. Wanting to feel you in a way that had your little heart beating. “You heard me, I want to marry you! That way, you’ll feed me yummy food forever!” She exclaimed, staring at you in a way you couldn’t refuse. “Please?”
“I— o-okay…” your tiny kid's heart didn’t have the guts to refuse, so the moment you said yes, Miko smiled and nuzzled you close. “Hurray! Now you can feed me fried tofu for the rest of our lives!”
If only you knew, she would marry you for reasons other than fried tofu…

HU TAO
Funerals were typically held on rainy days like in the movies, so why was yours held on such a bright and sunny day?
You stared at the coffin in front of you with regret, regret for not being with your grandmother more, as she passed away in her sleep due to old age. The funeral was directed by Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, which meant you had an untimely encounter with the director’s eccentric granddaughter.
She was so…strangely upbeat. Of course, she paid her respects to the dead, mourning in a way to convey her sadness. But she was still quite the spunky one and you couldn’t help but get irritated at how nonchalant she was.
There she was, prancing around the funeral giving jolly orders like it was nothing. You knew it was a part of her job, but did she really have to be so happy about it? You were slightly annoyed and went to sit by the pond to take a breather, pulling at the itchy black clothes your parents made you wear, before feeling the tears well up in your eyes.
“Grandma…” your tiny voice trembled, sniffing and wiping away your tears, trying your best not to cry in front of all your family members.
“Yoo-hoo? Does someone need a tissue?” You heard a voice call, gentle footsteps walking up from behind and dangling a napkin in front of your face. “Better wipe up that runny nose, your face is too cute to be all snotty!”
“Hu Tao…” you frowned, taking her offered napkin and looking away. “Please go away, I’m not in the mood to play right now…”
Her face softened at the sight of you trying to hide your tears. Shamelessly trying to wipe your runny nose while hiding the fact that you were crying. “Okay…I guess I’ll go…”
Before she could leave however, your hand instinctively reached out to grab her sleeve, tugging her back. “No wait, I…” you grimaced and stared down at the floor. “I’m sorry, please stay…” Even though you were still annoyed, you still wanted the comfort of another person. Even if that person was Hu Tao.
“Oh? Ah, okay…” Hu Tao immediately sat down beside you and looked at you with worry. “…Your eyes are really puffy, you know.”
“I know.” You mumble tiredly, wiping your nose with your sleeve and staring at the water. “I haven’t cried like this in a while.”
“Understandable. I mean, your grandma pa—” she stopped herself from saying more before slowly hugging her knees. “Ah…sorry.”
“It’s okay.” You mutter, a deafening silence overcoming you two. “You’re just trying to help.”
Another awkward silence. Usually Hu Tao was more talkative when it came to the two of you, but right now she was quiet as she sat down beside you and picked at the grass. While the adults in the background talked amongst themselves, Hu Tao finally snapped out of it and reached a hand out for you to take.
“…Hug?” She asked softly, opening her arms like a baby bear cub.
“…Hug.” You say quietly, moving over to hug her while trying your best not to sob all over her shoulder. “There there. No need to hold back.” Hu Tao says reassuringly, squeezing you tightly. “You can snot over my shirt if you want. I have others.”
“No, ew.” You chuckle through your sobs. “That’s disgusting.”
“Well, I don’t mind if it makes you feel better…” she murmurs against your ear. “I don’t like seeing you so upset.”
“I don’t normally get so upset, sorry…”
“No, it’s okay. I just want to cheer you up.”
She patted your back comfortingly, before placing her hat on top of your head. “You know, I wish we could hang out more often. You seem like a pretty cool kid.” She smiles brightly at you before pulling away from the hug. “I wanna be with you more! Not just at the funeral parlor.”
“Sniff, really?” You blinked your tears away and looked up at her.
“Really.” She says with a smile, cupping your hands. “…Actually, I have an idea!”
She plucked a dandelion sprout from the ground and got down on one knee, holding out the flower to your face. “Let’s get married when we’re older! That way, I can cheer you up whenever we’re together!”
Your face flushed at the sudden proposal and you immediately panicked. “Ah, wait! Aren’t marriages a serious thing? Don’t you have to be in love for that to happen?”
“Pfft! Who cares? Marriages make people happy, so I wanna make you happy too…”
She slipped the dandelion between your ear and smiled, giving you a smile you would soon see walking down the altar…
Tumblr media
DEHYA
You ran down the streets of your hometown, trying to avoid all the bullies chasing your tail and diving down random alleyways to lose them as quickly as possible. Unfortunately for you however, you found yourself at a dead end with nowhere else to go, a bunch of big kids getting ready to make you their next target, as they took the liberty of picking up rocks to throw at you.
“Ah, come on! Can’t you leave me alone just this once?” You looked aggravated and fearful for your life, backing up against the hardened brick wall that led to your demise. “Don’t you get tired of picking on me all the time? Find something else to do!”
Your desperate pleas fell on deaf ears as they got ready to launch their rocks. You sighed and crouched down on the ground, trying to cover your head for the inevitable pain you were going to feel.
“Okay, just please make it quick…”
You squeezed your eyes shut and resisted the urge to cry, bracing yourself for the impact that…strangely never came?
Instead, you heard the loud yells of a rugged and tomboyish girl, the sounds of kids screaming in fear, before footsteps sprinted away from you. The sounds slowly grew quieter and quieter, leaving you to open your eyes and see a pretty, short-haired girl standing in front of you.
“They’re gone now, I chased them away for you.” Was all she said before extending her hand out. “Are you okay? Did they hit you or anything?”
Your cheeks flushed hot at the sight of her trying to help you, as the girl was very pretty and the way she was staring at you with those piercing blue eyes made your heart leap with relief. What was this feeling? Could it be? Did you finally develop one of those things called crushes?
You realized she was still staring at you and shook your head no.
“Ah, no…they didn’t.” You slowly took her hand and stood up. “I’m okay, thanks.”
“You sure? Your knee looks pretty bad.”
You looked down to see what she was pointing at and sure enough, you had somehow scraped your knee during the chase. “Oh, I guess I didn’t notice…” you brushed off some sand that had gotten on it and winced. “Don’t worry, it’s just a scrape. It’ll heal.”
“Not if it gets infected.” She huffs, grabbing your hand with her own. Wow, even for a kid as young as you, she sure was strong. “Come on, I’ll take you back to my tent. My name’s Dehya by the way.”
She tugs you down to follow her to her camp and makes you sit down, grabbing all the medical supplies her arms could carry before setting them down in front of you.
“Uhm, do you know how to use these? Only grownups should use alcohol.” You scrunched up your nose at the sight, causing Dehya to laugh beautifully.
“Pfft, you’re thinking of the wrong kind of alcohol,” she grins, applying some on a piece of gauze. “That’s drinking alcohol, it’s the kind that makes grownups all dizzy and say funny things. This is rubbing alcohol.”
She gently applies the gauze to your scrape and watches you hiss in pain. The moment she sees tears well up in your eyes though, she immediately grabs your hand.
“Ah—! I’m sorry, but this has to be done! My dad told me you have to disinfect wounds so you don’t get germs on it!” She squeezed your hand in comfort, helping you push through the pain before setting the gauze down to begin bandaging you. “I know it hurts, but adults go through scary injuries all the time and have to go through the same thing. You can be brave for me, right?”
She looks up at you with those piercing blue eyes and you couldn’t bring yourself to say no.
“Hah! That’s the spirit!” She smiles and finishes wrapping up your knee. “There, all done! Can you walk?”
You shakily got up on wobbly knees before almost falling backwards, if not for Dehya instinctively catching you. “…Huh. Seems like you need a bit more recovery.”
She helps you sit back down before frowning after a few moments. “Actually, I have to ask, how long have you been bullied by those bigger kids?”
“Ah, for a little while…” you mumble in response, hiding your face in shame. “It’s okay, they’ll get bored of me eventually.”
“Eventually?” Dehya’s face furrowed with anger. “No! I’m not gonna let them keep bullying you! You deserve better!” She huffs and grabs your hand, before dramatically getting down on one knee. “I’m going to protect you till the end of time. My dad said that you should always protect those who can’t protect themselves, so I’m doing that for you!”
“But—”
She looked at you with such fiery determination and you shut up immediately.
“No buts. I’ve decided I’m going to stick with you for as long as I can.” She smiled and held your hands, leaning in close with a grin. “Perhaps we’ll even get married…”
Your eyes widened at the idea. Married to Dehya? I mean, it’s not like you were opposed to it…
“Married? Oh, uh, alright….” Dehya smiled and patted your head.
“Good. I’ll make sure you’re safe as long as you’re with me.”
She bows down to you like a knight would before taking your hand and kissing it.
“That’s what a good wife does after all…”

Due to living in poverty, little tiny Ningguang had to make a living by selling seashells on the beach. She didn’t have time to play with the other kids, or go eat lunch with them by the pier, so she ended up not having a lot of friends to talk to, due to her poor upbringing and determination for money.
She would’ve ended up alone if not for you, a humble, yet curious child who took interest in what Ningguang wanted to sell. They were mostly handmade wares and shells she found lying on the beach, so there wasn’t really anything of high value. Despite that however, you were intrigued, and moved a little closer to take a look at what Ningguang had to offer.
She noticed you, standing up abruptly to present whatever she thought would interest you. “You seem rather enveloped by my jewelry,” Ningguang says, lifting up one of the trays of rings. “They’re all handcrafted and personally made by me. The pearls you see are freshly harvested from oysters found by the Liyue docks.”
She looked proud of her little business spiel and gently took your hand into hers. “Would you like to try one? I can help you find your ring size.”
Despite her living in rags and dirt, you couldn’t help but find her beautiful as she looked up at you with gemstone-brimmed eyes. Blinking up at you in a beautiful shade of scarlet, as her warm smile brought you newfound feelings you’ve never felt before. What were those feelings you may ask? Perhaps something akin to fascination, or perhaps…a small crush?
Nevertheless, you knew this girl was beautiful, and wanted to get to know her better. After browsing around her selection of wares for you to purchase from, your eyes landed on a particular set of jewelry. “Are these a set? They both match…” you ask with curiosity, picking up one of the rings.
“Yes, I made those two in mind for a couple who happened to be walking by.” She picks up the second one in the pair and holds it out to you. “They are matching rings and can symbolize anything. Romance, friendship, familial bond…”
She smiles at you and gently slips one of the pairs onto your finger. “Here, it seems to fit onto you perfectly. Do you like it?”
You did. It was absolutely beautiful and you admired the glittering pearl like it was the second prettiest thing you’ve ever seen. (The first one being Ningguang)
“It’s beautiful. But…” your eyes moved down to the matching pair in the set. “I don’t have anyone to match with…”
Ningguang raised a brow at this. Well, you could always buy another ring, so it’s not like this was a big deal.
“Oh? That’s a shame. Then perhaps you could get something else? Or, even just take one of the pairs and leave the other.” She thought quite logically about the situation and didn’t seem bothered by your dilemma. After giving her suggestion, she was a bit confused as to why you looked so upset. “Uh…is something the matter?”
“We can’t just separate the pair!” You exclaim, your childishness shining through. “They’d get lonely knowing the other pair is somewhere else…”
“But they’re just…rings?” Ningguang looked confused as to what you were throwing a fuss about. “Rings don’t have feelings!”
“You don’t know that!” You shout back, holding one of the rings close to your chest. “It needs to know it matches with someone. Then it’ll fulfill its purpose in life…”
Poor Ningguang looked so confused at the whole ordeal before sighing in slight disbelief. Perhaps she was a bit too mature for her age to understand, but it seemed that splitting the rings apart was troubling you to a great degree.
“Alright, I have an idea…” Ningguang murmurs, taking the second half of the pair and slipping it onto her finger. “You can keep that one, and I will keep this one. That way we will match.”
Your eyes lit up at this solution. “So we can be…a bonded pair?” You ask quietly, looking at her with intrigue.
Dammit. Little Ningguang’s face blushed and she couldn’t help but grow flustered. “Yes, we can be a bonded pair…” she grumbles, ignoring the way you were starting to look cute.
“Hurray!” You smile gleefully, slipping the ring on and handing you some mora. “Now we can pretend to be married! Like real couples!”
She felt the blood rush to her face as she looked down at the matching ring in her hand, a spur of newfound feelings bubbling in her chest, as Ningguang had never felt this way before.
From that day forward, Ningguang vowed to become the richest woman in Liyue. All for the sole purpose of potentially buying you a real ring to marry…

im being so serious when i say i believe that sumeru's writing would've been better if they yk. actually did stuff w the desert gang after the archon quest. their existence in general being a reference to king deshret and the three magi AND being a symbol of the desert people and the rain forest developing a relationship as we watch them learn to trust each other in carrying out this plan.......
AUGRHGH THE FACT THAT THEY HAVE SO MUCH MISSED POTENTIAL WHAT THE FUCK

this is a completely normal and nonchalant post about the camera angles used for alhaitham in the archon quest and his story quest
when we’re introduced to alhaitham the camera angles avoid allowing us a view of his eyes, which creates a mystery around alhaitham, his motives, and in turn causing us to question the validity of his words - is he a trustworthy ally or not?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since this is a tactic used to reinforce the idea that alhaitham’s sincerity should potentially be questioned, i think it’s Interesting that this can be seen in the closing of the archon quest - after kaveh is introduced
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the camera angle yet again reverts to concealing alhaitham’s eyes, which then acts as obscuring the truth of the matter - as well as alhaitham’s vagueness, which is an evasion tactic he uses often, and is even addressed in his character story 2. “It’s reason enough” is indicative that his stated motive - although actually, it is a presumed motive supplied by dehya - is enough of a motive to satiate everyone’s curiosity
the idea here is that there is an alternate reason he undertook the archon saving plan, rather than just to secure the job of the akademiya’s scribe. this points to another reason which couples into his “way of life” - so it’s telling that this is the same quest in which kaveh is introduced and is seen only in his interaction with alhaitham, in which alhaitham reveals that kaveh is his roommate
kaveh becomes inextricably linked with alhaitham’s “way of life”, and thus alhaitham’s contentment. This subtext created by the camera angle becomes surface text when interacting with alhaitham after the cutscene
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alhaitham attributes his enjoyment of the gathering to the genuine happiness that “the people” present in the grand bazaar feel - in this alhaitham indirectly links himself to “the people” feeling genuine happiness, as he, too, is present with the intention of celebrating
This discussion of happiness and overall contentment - first mentioned in alhaitham’s motive for maintaining his satisfactory “way of life” - is then immediately is followed by a mention of kaveh
Alhaitham mentions that he has taken “both” keys upon leaving the house, which references their living situation as roommates, but also refers back to alhaitham’s first mention of kaveh due to kaveh being missing from the archon quest, and therefore alhaitham had the house to himself
Kaveh returning to sumeru, back to alhaitham’s house, and therefore his key being present to take, is a premise explicitly linked with alhaitham’s happiness, and his general way of life - kaveh being present in alhaitham’s life IS the status quo which alhaitham wants to maintain, is the alternate reason behind “it’s reason enough”
Returning to camera angles, this is a little self-indulgent, but in alhaitham’s story quest, the deliberate choice to include kaveh in the frame when alhaitham mentions the importance of one keeping their priorities in check is interesting, not only in visual confirmation that, yes, kaveh IS one of alhaitham’s priorities, but also that it directly parallels the aforementioned scene in the archon quest with the frame “it’s reason enough”
Tumblr media
In contrast to the “it’s reason enough” frame, alhaitham is outright expressing his multitude of priorities, which extends to beyond that of his job - with kaveh being explicitly in frame
This story quest scene ‘pride and prejudice’ literally mirrors the archon quest ‘a toast to victory’ in this regard, as in the latter, the camera angle focusses on the opposite side of alhaitham’s face, ensuring his eyes are covered as he makes allusions to more than one prospective motive, but in the former scene, the other side of alhaitham’s face is shown where his eyes are revealed and his words are less cryptic - solely because kaveh is in frame and can directly be linked to one of alhaitham’s motives, or priorities
Overall, kaveh is extremely important to alhaitham and the game tries every angle (literally) to convey this point. Alhaitham wants kaveh in his life, so much so that kaveh’s presence has become engrained with his “way of life” he seeks to maintain

Can I make a request for an S/O who has a pet that is extremely gruesome and scary, but is very cuddly and protective when interacting with its owner? Like, like the animal was something similar to the Demongorgon or something.
If you can, do it for Sarah, Shenhen, Dehya, Candance and Navia.
(Genshin Impact) Sara, Shenhe, Dehya, Candace, and Navia's S/O with a terrifying pet
I was bouncing between a Tyranid from 40k or a terrifying bug from a user created horror story called Mystery Flesh Pit National Park, but I'll just settle on some non particular bug abomination.
Tumblr media
Sara was barely able to hold back from immediately drawing her bow when she walked into S/O's house the first time and saw a massive insect inside.
It nearly stood up to the ceiling as it straightened its back, before relaxing from seeing its owner.
(Sara) "What is that?!"
(S/O) "OH! S-Sorry, I forgot to mention it to you beforehand! This is my pet!"
Sara stared at S/O before her eyes slowly glanced over to the "pet" they kept.
It resembled some kind of centipede with massive antennas, but had arms resembling a...human?!
Sara still kept her battle stance, wearily looking at it before turning to S/O, noticing their relatively happy expression.
(Sara) "...And, this will pose no threat to the people of Inazuma?"
(S/O) "Of course not, he doesn't eat people!"
(Sara) sigh "Thank the Almighty Sho-"
(S/O) "He eats corpses! It's a scavenger bug, not a predator!"
(Sara) "..."
Sara is uneasy around S/O's pet, putting it mildly.
The only place she doesn't allow S/O to cuddle her is at their house.
The one time she allowed them to rest their head on her shoulder, the romantic mood was immediately halted by S/O's pet resting its head on their lap.
Despite how much it unsettled her, she could at least complement its intelligence and loyalty.
When S/O was threatened, it would immediately attack whenever they commanded it to.
It even enjoyed getting pet, though Sara politely declined from doing so herself.
As long as it didn't cause a public disturbance, it was fine to remain.
But Archons help S/O if she gets a report of that...thing threatening a citizen, not even its terrifying and gross legs would skitter away from her wrath.
Tumblr media
Shenhe reached for her polearm before realizing the bug was relaxing near S/O.
She had seen all kinds of fantastical sights thanks to her Master, so it didn't really take long for her to adjust.
(Shenhe) "...Is that a pet, S/O?"
(S/O) "Sure is! This little guy has been with me for a long time!"
(Shenhe) "I see. It is good you have a companion."
The bug's head, or at least what she assumed was the head, seemed to lean into S/O's hand as they scratched under the chin.
...Neat.
Shenhe is used to nature, but she had never seen a creature like this before.
But then again, being with S/O taught her all kinds of new things, maybe this was another she should take heed of.
Seeing other people react to the bug, she moves to protect it like she would S/O.
Something that even it recognized, and protected Shenhe like its owner.
The only thing Shenhe dislikes about the bug is how clingy it got whenever she was wanting to spend time with S/O.
Other than that, the bug and Shenhe have a strange silent respect for each other.
Tumblr media
(Dehya) "S/O, GET BACK!-"
Dehya suddenly leaps into action when a giant bug-like creature emerged from the sand behind S/O.
Before S/O got in the way, trying (and failing) to keep her arm down.
(S/O) "WAIT, DEHYA! I-It's with me!"
Dehya's expression was something between confusion and anger, quickly looking back at S/O and the bug.
Just as they said, it was just staring at her before turning its attention to its owner.
(Dehya) "Jeez, ya never thought to bring this up to me before?! It looks like it could eat us!"
(S/O) "I-If it makes you feel any better, it's like a vulture! A scavenger eater, only corpses!"
(Dehya) "It really doesn't..."
Dehya is honestly creeped the hell out by S/O's pet.
She's seen a lot of desert fauna, but nothing like what S/O had.
It especially didn't help matters that it liked to hide under the sand until S/O spent time with it.
She especially didn't like that it butted its head in whenever she wanted to hold S/O.
More than one occasion she was ready to tell it off before S/O did so gently, letting it gently comply.
The other mercs are completely freaked out by it, which she doesn't blame them for in the slightest.
But, it did help during their contracts by scaring the hell out of rival clients, other eremites, and animals in general.
Begrudgingly, she let S/O keep it, but then again maybe it's best it remains with them and doesn't wander off in the desert to potentially reproduce.
Tumblr media
Candace notices something shifting in the sands near S/O, which she immediately raises her spear to throw at-
Before S/O frantically waved their hands, signaling to her not to attack.
Candace sees the bug emerge from the sand as it gives S/O a lift, riding towards her.
She takes a step back from unease, sizing the bug up and down before turning to S/O.
(Candace) "Have you...tamed this creature?"
(S/O) "K-Kinda? I didn't really tame it per se, more like we became friends!"
Candace did acknowledge it had some kind of intelligence in its eyes, as it responded perfectly to S/O's commands.
Being reassured by S/O that it would not attack the people of Aaru village, or eat the children, she allowed it to stay.
It took a bit for her to get used to it, but she no longer flinches seeing the bug.
It helped that it didn't seem to be naturally part of the desert, since she had never seen anything like it before.
Eventually, it became as much of a guardian of the town as Candace, much to her shock.
When S/O was threatened, the bug leapt from the sands and dragged them under, and the same went for any of the townsfolk.
The only thing she asks is that it sleeps outside, mostly just cause it'd drag sand all over the floor.
Tumblr media
(S/O) "HOLY CRAP, GIANT BUG!-"
S/O immediately aims her umbrella-shotgun before S/O stopped her from pulling the trigger.
(S/O) "W-WAIT! NAVIA, IT'S MY PET!"
(Navia) "Your pet?! That thing could eat one of the Clockwork Meka whole!"
She shuddered in terror as it skittered towards S/O, seemingly lax by their mere presence.
This sure as hell wasn't a man's best friend situation, and every cell in her body wanted to shoot it.
But seeing as it was with S/O, she very reluctantly let S/O keep it.
The only thing is that it HAD to stay outside the city and only in S/O's home.
Every single Meka and Guard would be trying to kill it, not that she wouldn't blame them either.
Navia screams in terror everytime she opens the door to find it turn its head towards her.
Why couldn't S/O just have a cat or something...?
Her urge to stomp the bug grows bigger when she moves to hug or kiss S/O, only to watch it approach from seeming jealousy.

Tumblr media
Hi pookie!! I know you’re feeling down lately so I thought I’d try to prioritise this one for now😮 first post ever that isn’t Arlecchino based!! How crazy:0 time to give Dehya some well deserved love, I think..
Word count: 1181
Content: silly reader does not know the gym, dehya is a sweetie but also horny for reader, grinding on abs
Nsft utc!
Tumblr media
When you walk into the gym, it’s more than obvious you are NOT a regular. Your appearance isn’t what gives it away (though it doesn’t help), it’s the fact you’re utterly adorable clueless with all the equipment. Even though you’re desperately trying to figure it out, nothing about what you’re doing is correct. From the way you struggle to lift a 4kg weight, to the way you aren’t even tall enough to reach the equipment that isn't the height of your waist or lower. You’re tiny. She feels bad for you in the beginning, and she does what no other woman in the gym does. She goes up to you, reaching to take down whatever equipment you need, spotting you even when you lift the smallest amount of weight possible. She sets the machines up correctly for you too, quietly letting you know that you’re doing it wrong. She doesn’t make it obvious, no, she knows how it could be embarrassing for you. You’re just so inexperienced.
She adores it. She’s been watching you since the day you started coming to this specific gym. Your tight clothes she knows you’re wearing to look more toned than you are. The way you struggle with every machine, the way you look around to copy other people’s motions. The way you stare at her when she’s training her muscles. Dehya is no idiot, not in the slightest, and you’re not subtle in the slightest. If anything, she enjoys the attention she’s getting from you, and she plays up to it. Lifting more than she needs to just to watch the rise and fall of your chest, grunting louder than she usually does to relish in the way your eyes glaze as you think of her grunting as she fucks you. She’s teasing you, and she loves every second of it.
So, she decides, after six long months, does she interact with you directly. Dehya, being Dehya, is just a little bored of watching you react so far away from her. She wants to hear your breathing, hear your muttered responses to her as she makes your mind go blank. You’re shy, though, she’s gathered that much, so she’ll be kind, she thinks. She’ll do it in a way that’s just as good for you both. Before she can think of what she’s doing, she’s tying her locks into a ponytail at the back of her head, careful not to put too much strain on the strands by her ears, and she’s calling out to you from across the gym.
“Hey, pretty girl,” she drawls, loud enough that your head whips around, your eyes wide at the idea of finally being noticed by the girl you’ve been pining over, the whole reason you’re going to the gym. “Come here and help me, yeah? Thanks, doll.”
You drop the weight you’re holding immediately (one you had strained to even pick up), almost scrambling over. You wait, bouncing your foot as you glance at her. You watch as Dehya moves into an exercise you’ve seen her do often, one you’ve always secretly (not so secretly, she knows) admired her doing. She lowers herself down to the floor before her eyes, blue as sapphires, focus on you again. “Sit here,” she pats the area around her hips softly, looking up at you expectantly.
“What?” You manage to splutter out words, looking at her with widened eyes almost in horror at the prospect. Only because you know immediately what’ll happen, and you already feel the coil in your stomach tighten at the idea. Somehow, though, you can’t resist from gingerly perching yourself on the side of her hip, only for Dehya to tut and shake her head with a grin.
“No, straddle me. I can’t exercise if I’m worried you’re gonna fall off, can I, doll?” She raises an eyebrow, just waiting, and eventually, you obey her, moving until your entire weight rests on her. She hums in approval, her hands finding your waist, her thumbs stroking the skin a little too intimately. “Good girl, see? God, you’re tiny.”
The words she says are breathless as she eyes you. She’s not ashamed either, the smirk on her face tells you that much, but a few seconds later, she’s using your body weight to do hip thrusts, grunting with every rep, enjoying your ever flushing face.
After a while, Dehya is past her usual rep count, and you know it, too, but she’s not stopping. She’s barely counting, and she’s more concentrated on the way her hands are squeezing ever so gently around your waist, and the way one of her hands is sliding towards your hip.
She knows it’s late at night, there isn’t anybody else here now. Everyone left a while ago, so she takes the chance. A risky move, and she does it anyway, faking innocence, like she has no idea what she’s doing. Her abs are already slick from the sweat continuously gathering, and despite you being clothed, she moves you gently towards her stomach. Her hip thrusts have slowed to a halt now, though, just to keep up the innocence she’s been feigning, she does another, but only to hide the way she ever so gently glides your clothed core against her abs.
She loves the way you gasp at the feeling of it, the way your lips part ever so slightly. So, she does the same thing. Three times, until her hip thrusts have stopped once again. No longer is she exercising, opting instead to make the pretty girl at the gym gasp and sigh in pleasure. Dehya eventually becomes more bold, one thumb tracing the band of your leggings, whispering sweet nothings about how wants to see you without them. Each word of hers, whispered with so much affection brings you closer and closer to whatever sort of cliff you’re approaching. Your hips? They don’t even need guidance from her anymore, they’re moving by themselves thanks to encouragement and praise from the woman below you.
“Good girl, just like that. Aw, you’re so tiny. So tiny you can move right across them, can’t you? You should come to the gym late at night more often.” She chuckles, moving you faster as you moan into the air. They’re stifled moans, but moans nonetheless, and her eyes light up the second she feels you trembling as your orgasm crashes over you in powerful waves. You grip her hand hard, and the hand that isn’t being crushed by your own comes to stroke your hair, her voice talking you through it.
“Yeah, that’s it. Come on, let it happen, yeah? It’s good, right? My favourite form of exercise.”
You cannot resist the abrupt, hoarse laughter that spills from your lips at her final comment. What an odd way of breaking the ice, you think, though the ice melted the second she gave you that first glance. Maybe you can employ her to be your personal trainer, or something. Maybe you can admit you only come to the gym for her, and invite her to your place.

Dehya x Secret Admirer Reader
Where you fall in love with Dehya at first sight and write her a love letter
Tumblr media
◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇◇
Sweat glistened and shined in the blaring desert sun. With each swing of her claymore, an intense buzz filled the air, suffocating her opponents. There, only a mere few feet in front of you, was an unfamiliar woman. Not only that, but she was easily the strongest person you've ever seen. Her fighting prowess and pure, fiery confidence terrified you out of pure instinct, making your legs tremble and nearly collapse under you.
And you loved every second of it.
Before long, the thugs that had attempted to mug you lay unconscious on the ground below, suddenly far less intimidating than before. Your savior let out a breathy sigh. Then, she turned in your direction.
Her piercing blue eyes settled on you, glaring from the lingering emotions of battle. Quickly, though, you noticed them soften as she looked you up and down.
"Sorry, did I scare you? I didn't mean to barge in like that, but those guys didn't exactly leave me a choice. Name's Dehya. I can escort you to wherever it is you're heading off to."
Everything felt so warm—and not just because of the desert sun. With embarrassment, you could tell easily just from the sensation alone how flushed your face was becoming. It's not like you've never interacted with a girl before, but someone as charming and attractive as her? People like her were the kind you'd only ever seen in passing or in newspapers about celebrities. But now here she was, standing right in front of you and paying attention to you.
"Thank you... Uh, Dehya." Her name burned on your lips.
The next half an hour spent walking together was both uncomfortably long and painfully short. Neither of you tried too hard to be particularly chatty—or at least, the two of you gave up on having any real conversation after many awkward attempts. The blame for that was most definitely yours alone, though. Dehya clearly knew how to interact with strangers, as proven by how naturally it came to her, but you... Well, who could blame you for struggling so much around someone as dazzling as her?
You glanced up, snapping out of your thoughts and recognizing your surroundings. In what felt like mere moments, the two of you had arrived at your destination. Embarrassment coursed through your body. Had you really not managed to have a single, proper chat with her this entire time? Looking to your side, Dehya appeared to lack the same concern.
"Well, I'll be on my way now. Take care, okay? That area's littered with criminal activity nowadays." The girl winked at you in such a casual manner that it barely registered. You mumbled back in a meek attempt at agreement.
Panic overtook you as you saw her turn to leave. Without thinking, you called out to her.
"Wait, Dehya!" At the sound of your voice, she glanced in your direction, waiting silently for you to continue. You blushed, realizing you had no idea what words to say next.
"I uh, um... I hope I can see you again sometime."
She chuckled at you lightly. "Don't wish for that. If we run into each other again, it'll probably be because you got yourself into even more trouble."
*
As the moon's glow began to paint the desert sky, Dehya relaxed her muscles and allowed her tension to melt away. There really was nothing quite like watching the stars at night to help let go of the day's troubles. As she began to unwind, the sounds of footsteps in the sand grabbed her attention. She gazed upwards. A man she vaguely recognized stood before her, holding out an envelope.
"What is this?" She questioned him.
"A letter for you, Miss Dehya."
Her head leaned to the side. Letters for her weren't unheard of, but they typically only came from a handful of people sealed in recognizable envelopes. This one, unlike the ones from before, she had never seen. Maybe it was a new client looking to hire her, or perhaps... Her lips pulled together in a frown. There always was the chance some dumbass was trying to blackmail her. It never worked in their favor, but some still tried.
Tension building inside of her, she reached for the envelope and clawed it open. She unfolded the neat paper within and held it in front of her.
"Dear Dehya... Ever since I met you... I've had a crush on you—wait, what?" Her eyes widened in realization at what this letter truly was. A confession.
With a rush, she ran her eyes down to the end of the paper. Who the hell could have written this?
Love, your secret admirer
Her face scrunched up at the words, her mind doing mental gymnastics as she desperately tried to cycle through her recent social interactions. The issue was, she wasn't exactly a loner in any sense of the word. Her work, by nature, was so involved with other people that the list of potential suspects was exceedingly high.
She threw her head back and, despite her frustration, began to grin to herself. If they were too much of a coward to confess to her face, then... she'd just have to hunt them down and make them.
"I'll find you, whoever you are. And when I do, don't expect me to go easy on you."
