“hey, remember the first week you got here—”

“oh god,”

“when— when we—” mark struggles to speak, cut off by his own obnoxious laughter. “and then you started crying—”

“not funny! you guys told me there was a ghost in the practice room and then left me alone in there!” kenzie defends her only somewhat younger self. it was two years ago, but the memory is fresh in her mind.

“okay, but dude, it was necessary,” he snickers, and technically, he’s right. would she have come out of the shell of shyness and nerves she’d formed around herself with time? probably. but scaring her out of it worked well enough, in the end. “i mean, look at us now.”

“i should’ve gotten you back,” she pouts, but it melts into a smile.

the chains make this horrible screeching sound as she digs her shoe into the mulch below her, twisting herself a little in the swing. they’re at this playground, deserted due to the late hour, that’s just a five–minute walk away from the sm trainee dorms.

this is something they used to do all the time— sneak out of their respective dorms when everyone else was asleep, walk to a nearby convenience store and buy soda and snacks, then come back here to hang out and talk all night. after mark debuted, it became their primary way of seeing each other, albeit much less often.

“you’ll never get to now, though,” he doesn’t mean for it to come out sounding as sad as it does, clearing his throat afterwards.

“yeah…” she mumbles, looking down at her half–eaten cup of instant noodles, poking around at it with the wooden convenience store chopsticks.

she really, really wanted things to work out as sm. after all, this had been her dream. she dropped her whole life— her family, all her friends, school, competitive dance— and came all the way to seoul just to train here. she thought she had it all figured out, so close to her goals she could taste them. then she went on tv and those netizens said all those terrible things, and the boys all debuted and herin left, and she felt so alone all of a sudden. her goals had started to taste bitter, rotten.

after a long discussion with her parents, they agreed to let her stay in korea with her aunt and uncle full–time so she can continue going to hanlim and hopefully try again somewhere else, so it’s not like it’s completely over. just an end of an era.

still, these past two years have been the best of kenzie’s life. she’s learned so much, made so many meaningful connections. she may have hated being crammed into a tiny dorm with all the other girls and having no privacy, but she’d still shed a few tears with them when she officially moved out a couple days ago. she’s always going to have a soft spot for the time she spent here.

“it’s gonna be really weird. it already is. like, i can’t just go downstairs and talk to you anymore,” mark says, his hoodie pulled up over his head and black face mask tucked under his chin. he’s not quite swinging, just rocking back and forth. “what am i gonna do without you?”

“i think you’ll live,” she scrunches her nose. “you still have your whole group, all our friends.”

mark shakes his head, a soft smile pulling at his lips. “nah, it’s different,” he pauses, looking over at her. “you’re my person, y’know?”

a familiar warmth floods kenzie’s chest at the words, flowing right from where her heart is.

she guesses now, more than ever, would be the right time to finally get this off of her chest. after tonight, mark’s going to be even busier with his career and kenzie’s technically going back to being a normal teenager. he’ll travel the world, meet all types of girls, all prettier and more interesting than she is. who knows if they’ll ever even see each other again.

but then she thinks again.

she shouldn’t risk ruining the night. and it’s not that even that big a deal, really. he’s just one boy out of millions in the world, crushes come and go faster than the winds change. even quicker than the speed of light. surely, she’ll sooner feel nothing but friendship for mark lee before the world ends.

“so, what now?” mark inquires. “any ideas where you’re gonna go?”

kenzie tilts her head at the question. she actually hasn’t given that much thought. “i dunno. i think i’m just gonna focus on school and dance for right now, then probably start auditioning later. or maybe i’ll go back home and become a professional clerk at whole foods.” she says sardonically, shrugging, and mark chuckles.

“and i’ll come buy frozen pizzas from that whole foods every time i visit— fund your career, y’know,” he promises, leaning close enough in his swing to nudge her with his elbow, and the sheer sincerity in his voice is enough to make kenzie giggle. “but for real, though. we’ll still get together and hang out and stuff. nothing’s gonna change. right?”

everything is going to change. kenzie knows this for a fact.

but tonight, absolutely nothing has to change.

"monthly evaluations sucked. i always cried , even when i did well. it was so stressful. and for best... definitely stargazing with mark! we never had time to hang out after he debuted , so we'd sneak out of our dorms at night and have , like , little shit–talking sessions. it was fun!"

7. how much do u look urself up online , if at all?

"oh , all day every day. i can't go without searching myself on theqoo , dc inside , lipstick alley at least once... i , like , get anxious if i haven't checked." she admits , pursing her lips. "not that i actually care what those people think , 'cause they're all basement–dwelling losers , but like... i still wanna be in the know!"

lemon slices is the web series of honeylemon's short videos and vlogs , released on the group's official youtube channel since pre–debut. the series gives fans a personal glimpse into the girls' daily lives , with behind–the–scenes content , casual hangouts between the members , reactions , and more.

in one of their earliest vlogs , the girls recorded their typical morning in the dorm , back when the six of them shared one living space. the vlog is hilariously chaotic but candid , showing joori trying to get everyone up and ready ahead of work. meilin refusing to get out of bed , ej still half–asleep while brushing her teeth , and the girls all eating breakfast together are highlights from the vlog.

a vlog uploaded after debut , showing meilin , ej , and kenzie rehearsing and preparing their iconic pre–debut dance video to "press" by cardi b. they went to the ceo of seventh heaven and said "we want to make history" , and that's what this was.

in one of her solo vlogs from 2021 , kenzie spends her off day doing pilates , eating at a cafe , and hanging out with one of her closest idol friends , mark of nct. the two casually visit coex mall , getting tickets to the aquarium , shopping , and taking pictures in a photobooth before getting dinner. it's one of the most viewed videos on the honeylemon channel.

in another vlog , the girls are seen rehearsing , getting ready before , and then unwinding after their performance at the 2024 waterbomb festival. however , it's beloved by fans because in it , the girls finally get ej to explain a few of her tattoos on camera. she shows off the tattoo of haku from spirited away that takes up most of the sleeve on her left forearm , the words beside it , and the art on that same hand , before lifting up her shirt and showing the flower on her torso— the clips have been turned every way but loose in edits on tiktok.

the girls get a few of their managers together in their practice room and teach them the choreography to what was their newest song at the time , o–m–g , introducing some of their staff members to their audience. the winner , their primary manager , maeum , is beloved by fans and still often interacts with the girls on camera.

joori , ryuhyun , and anna visit a cate cafe in seoul together on an off day , and spend the whole vlog fawning and cooing at the animals. they get particularly attached to a rescue cat that insists on sitting with them , and anna and ryuhyun plead with joori to let them bring it home with them , and even though she refuses for the entirety of the video , the kitten can later be seen roaming around the dorm in the backgrounds of later vlogs.

honey , do! , stylized as HONEY:DO , is the popular reality and variety web series starring the members of honeylemon. available to be watched on youtube and heavenlink , the show offers fans a more light–hearted , behind–the–scenes look at the off–stage personalities and dynamics of the members through fun games and challenges. the name honey:do is a twist on the phrase "honey to–do list" , as well as the fruit honeydew.

wearing matching uniforms , the girls split into teams of two to become students at the "honi school" for the twentieth episode. because they have an even number of members , golden hour's soohyuk makes a surprise guest appearance as their strict instructor. they compete in four challenges , or classes , for which they earn points. the lowest scoring team receives a hilarious penalty at the end of the game.

in the halloween special episode , the girls receive an invitation to a haunted candy factory and tasked with finding all of the golden tickets to win the game and earn a prize. in teams of two , they complete challenges like a clue hunt , haunted obstacle course , and ghost riddle.

in the eighty–ninth episode , the members visit a noraebang and , once again , split into teams for a singing contest. wearing silly accessories like costume glasses , lei necklaces , and shiny cheap wigs , they dramatically and playfully perform hits like shinee's replay , chappell roan's hot–to–go , 2ne1's i am the best , and chaka khan's i'm every woman , and many more , in order to win the grand prize of some samgyeopsal.

honey's passport is a travel reality series that follows the honeylemon members as they explore locations around the world , from warm tropical paradises to snowy mountain peaks , broadcast by jtbc and also streamed on heavenlink. the show highlights the members' personalities and relationships as they immerse themselves in new cultures , face exciting challenges , and create new memories. the first season took place in the mamanuca islands , fiji and the second in interlaken , switzerland.

one day in fiji , the girls all split up and engaged in various activites ; ryuhyun and melin went on a quest to try all kinds of fijian foods , ej somehow convinced an extremely skittish joori to go snorkeling with sharks with her , while anna and kenzie opted to relax and took mud baths at a spa.

in the final episode of season one , the girls all get together around a bonfire on the beach and read letters they were tasked with writing to each other before the trip. the scene is really emotional , with all six of them getting teary as they express their admiration for each other and discuss their friendships and career. ej tries to lighten the mood by cracking a joke at one point , but just ends up crying too , which actually does make the rest of the girls laugh.

in an episode of season two , the girls are introduced to activities like skiing , snowboarding , and ice skating. while anna is a natural , apparently having done all of this while growing up in canada , the rest of the girls struggle to pick the skills up , leading to hilarious wipeouts and competition. they do , for the most part , eventually get the hang of it with guidance from anna and the instructors.

the fanservice mama... off the charts. so much hand–holding , impromptu cheek kisses , affectionate touching , words of affirmation , sharing clothes and beds , "dates" ( 80% of the time , ej and kenzie at the scene of the crime ). let's just say they were robbed of a glaad award nomination!

one night in the swiss chalet , the girls get ( responsibly ) wine–drunk and play a game of mafia. the game is filled with laughter and dramatics as they get a little too into their roles , and eventually gets so intense that , hilariously , at one point their conversation is almost completely censored with beeps due to them playfully cursing at each other.

a third season of the show has been confirmed to be coming out this year , rumored to have been filmed somewhere in south america.

once again , honeylemon slayed the house down for halloween this year! they started with uploading a silly halloween ver. dance practice of "2 spicy" as well as a ten–minute video of them celebrating the holiday , where they carved and decorated mini–pumpkins. later , they made appearances at a few industry events , including walking the orange carpet and competing at seventh heaven's annual costume contest and mingling at glasshouse's phantom manor , before heading to a private after party hosted by golden hour's adrian to close out the night.

honeyshoppe  is  a  brand  project  of  sanrio  ,  in  collaboration  with  honeylemon. it was announced in april of 2023 with the release of a twelve–part series on the girl group's youtube channel , documenting the process in which the brand was created , starting out as sketches by the members and then being further developed by a professional team of artists , marketing specialists , and toy manufacturers. to celebrate the official launch , a pop–up shop was held in seoul on april 30 , where the honeylemon members appeared and held a no–contact meet & greet.

since being launched , honeyshoppe have released various contents , from plushies and apparel to an animated web–series and recreations of honeylemon's music videos. they've also collaborated with numerous other trending brands , releasing honeyshoppe–themed makeup and skincare products , school and office supplies , and even ramen. most recently , the mobile game hello kitty island adventure was updated to include the honeyshoppe characters.

merchandise of  the  honeyshoppe  characters  is  available  for  purchase  on  both  the  seventh  heaven  shop  and  sanrio  websites  ,  but  are  quick  to  sell  out  online.  they’re  also  available  in  retail  stores  across  asia and the united states  ,  but  are  a  bit  more  scarce  elsewhere. to meet the demands of all fans , pop–up shops are also held around the globe.

₊˚⊹♡ touch is the first english single by honeylemon. it was released on january 10 , 2025 , through seventh heaven and republic records. the song is credited as being composed and produced by in–house producer lee baekho , with lyric credits going to both baekho and kenzie. the members are currently promoting the single in the u.s. // formatting inspired by @hjnxx <𝟑 .ᐟ

following the release of their fifth mini–album , cherry bomb in november of 2024 , honeylemon's management announced plans to release their first official english single in january. they began posting photo teasers on december 29 , and the song was officially released on january 10. an accompanying music video was uploaded to youtube simultaneously with the single's release , portraying the members as sad and lovelorn before they regain their confidence and move on. currently , the music video sits at 10 million views.

to promote the song , the group performed on american talk shows like the tonight show starring jimmy fallon , good morning america , and the kelly clarkson show , as well as mtv fresh out live. they also did two performances on korean music programs , inkigayo and show! music core , and won five trophies.

while in los angeles and new york , they sat courtside at a lakers game and the lakers girls performed 'touch'. they also collaborated with social media personalities the sturniolo triplets for a video and took a friendship test for buzzfeed , answered their most googled questions for wired , and played a game of 'most likely to...' for variety. these appearances made for plenty of viral moments online , especially on tiktok , with kenzie being the most talked–about member for her looks and sense of humor.

'touch' was a commercial success , peaking at #1 on the circle digital chart for six non–consecutive weeks , #5 on the billboard global 200 , and #24 on the billboard hot 100. it also reached #1 in hong kong , singapore , thailand , malaysia , and japan , as well as the top ten in india and new zealand.

critically , however , responses were mixed. one critic wrote that the song was a jarring downgrade from the boldness and production of the group's previous comeback , "2 spicy" , and gave it two out of five stars in a negative review. meanwhile others wrote about it positively , one calling it a "dreamy and infectious dancepop bop".
