We normally wouldn't ever talk about a situation like this- we wanted to actually get back into certain creators from the dreamsmp (specifically- tubbo, tommy, wilbur, eret, ranboo, and bbh). However we saw a video on the accusations earlier and it made us realize how similar wilburs actions were that of a past abuser (who I am now realizing definitely abused me). They worshipped Wilbur, I know for a fact they would defend them in this situations because they did the exact same things to me. I think what Wilbur did was disgusting, and I think that the background acceptance that it was ok to bite, hard is something that helped to encourage that behavior. Shubble is so brave for dealing with that, and anyone defending wilbur soot should get off my page and block me before I block you. Fuck Wilbur

I get this so much. Honestly the only reason I don’t go on it is bc when I interact with one thing too much tumblr decides it’s the Only Thing I Could POSSIBLY Enjoy Ever. It becomes my entire fucking feed till I block the tag. But I think that’s just a sign I need to curate my experience a bit more and give tumblr more info about what I want and what piques my interest.

idk if this is a contreversial take or not but i think that the ideal internet experience is being able to remove specific things (triggers, nsfw, gore) if you truly dont want to see them but overall being also shown things you aren’t interested in. i think one of my fave things about tumblr is seeing like 50% of my dash be about fandoms im not in, bands i dont like and quotes from books i dont want to read rather than this endless feedback loop of tiktok showing me ‘exactly what i want to see’ in a trap to keep me online as long as possible and blind to communities outside of my own. i want a mix of curating my own experience and a healthy dose of content i don’t already know i want to see, yknow?

“Nobody is judging you” judging is a skill we developed for survival. We have to judge. It’s there for a purpose. Your SUPPOSED to judge people, the covers on the books are there for a reason- but there’s also a synopsis for a reason. To truly understand you need to understand more than just the physical surface level of information and THATs the problem. No one wants to look deeper.

There are 4 guys who work at stores nearby. On the surface they look like the stereotypical image of a ex-felon- bulked and tatted up, dresses a certain way idk how to describe. Every single one of these guys are the nicest sweetest people I have ever met. I have also met people who look like that that I needed to avoid like the plague because I am a small feminine presenting person and my life was in genuine danger even being near them. I have to go to those stores, and eventually I learned that the guys I was scared of are nice, and that I don’t have to be wary of them. That doesn’t mean I’m not still scared of a large crowd of tall, strong men that are typically drinking. I like living, so I am going to preserve my life. They are not people I ever need to be around for a prolonged amount of time anyways unless I choose to get myself involved. That doesn’t mean I have to be rude, or talk shit about them, I can just understand their physical appearance has the traits of the people I was raised to fear.

Moral of the story it’s ok to judge if it’s for your own safety but the majority of people just judge to be mean and hateful and that, biologically, is not the reason we’re supposed to judge.
