was writing part of a scene for a fic i'm working on where throne's trying to comfort someone but the only methods of comfort she knows are 1. give raspberry and 2. distract. which wouldn't work well for most people. but unfortunately the person she's talking to right now is Temenos Repression Mistral and he was actually looking for a distraction so it actually works really well. which on the one hand is sweet + comes across as they just know each other really well, which is nice, i love their friendship, but also. the entire point was supposed to be that she's bad at this but trying anyway

anyway now there's a history lore dump in this grief chapter

#he did also get a raspberry #this is for a canon divergent thing starting in stormhail that i've been working on for a while but have a lot more planning than writing d #*done for so far #which started out as just 'stormhail but all three story chapters are happening at once + anyone can influence any story' but very quickly #very early on in planning turned into both 'stormhail but we accidentally rotated which protagonist is dealing with which story'#+ 'stormhail but we dropped a giant earthquake on the city' (it makes sense in context i promise)#+ now i have loose plans for continuing past stormhail through the chapter 5's + jttd as well. even though i still don't even have that muc #*much of the stormhail arc written yet #this fic is also the reason i haven't looked at much octopath 2 fanfic yet despite really loving the game. bc with how fandoms generally ar #i'm sure there's already a lot of stormhail canon divergent/'fix it' fics + i don't want to let myself get too influenced +/or burn myself #out on my own ideas by seeing too much of other peoples' versions #not that i think anyone else will be doing the exact same thing i'm doing here. but still

they'll fund a genocide and let their poor regions be destroyed. don't fucking forgive them for that.

my hometown is completely gone from what pictures i can find of it, i have not heard from my family (including aunts, uncles, parents, one sibling, and a grandparent), and the infrastructure in the mountain communities is wiped out. i cannot stress how catastrophic this is, or how difficult it will be for these communities to build back. i am angry, and scared, and heartbroken by everything that's happened.

and our government is spending it's money to fund a genocide.

free palestine, and don't be complicit. realize that this is not something happening that doesn't affect you--although it shouldn't take this to care about the deaths of thousands of people anyway.
