seoul is great and all with some foreigners she occasionally meets but sakura still finds it difficult to go around and about in the city when she struggles with some korean words. she’s improving day by day but there’s still a long way for her to go as she’s only been in the land for about a year. her friends help her out when she doesn’t understand anything, but what if they're not there? sakura has to take initiative and can’t play passively.

she doesn’t feel so much of having to worry about the language barriers when she’s in a westernised-themed restaurant, hanging out with one of her favourites in the world, sophie. she goes to the same school as her too, seoul national university but sakura’s a marine biology major and is doing labs for the most part. “have you thought of what to get yet?” her fingers move through the pages of the menu, eyes squinting and locked on the fish and chips excerpt. “fish and chips sound good? i’ve been craving it for a while.”

“it’s on me though, sophie. don’t worry about it.” she smiles at the other girl brightly, reassuring her that she doesn’t have to tackle the expenses.
