a tale from the cherry blossom tree, for the wonderful @rkgray​ !

writing and composing isn’t exactly a new art to sakura but there’s still lots of room for improvements for her. there’s a lot of creativity flowing within her flare but she can’t seem to find the right pieces of the puzzle to complete her mission: perfecting a song for this month’s evaluations. of course, she can’t tackle this kind of project all by herself. she’s not one to endure a burden all by herself so it’s best to ask a sunbaenim that has much more experience than she does. she knows at the bottom of her heart that she can confide to gray.

he’s been there for her in her time of needs when it wasn’t easy to fuel in ideas and whatnot.

truthfully, she couldn’t express her gratitude enough towards the elder. she’s lucky to have someone like him in her life as she’d remain a lost puppy in the dungeon without some sort of support. she doesn’t want to disappoint her coaches either since sakura’s quite a people-pleaser ( much to her dismay, she still doesn’t like to admit those specific words, verbatim ). failure isn’t an option at all.

❀ guidance

trainee starter for @rkgray​ !

the first day of training isn’t so lonely because she has friends that are there for her. but, she’s lost in such an enormous building. sakura’s never stepped foot in seocho, having the full exploration of the campus. she knew that the big five have money but not like this. everything’s so luxurious in terms of the budget for the equipment and architect. her eyes are widened the whole time as gray plays tour guide. “i don’t know, oniisama. isn’t everything so big here?” she’s scanning as she’s being led to several different training rooms and the cafeteria.

she’s almost intimidated by everything here except the few faces that she’s already familiar with. there are other people she has to greet just yet but it’s best to take things slow when she’s adjusting to this kind of new environment. never did in her life would she imagine signing her soul away to a contract for two years. gray’s been here for longer, she doesn’t know how some trainees endure the countless of training, unknowingly living with the fact that they may debut or not.

“how do you do all this? it seems so scary...” sakura furrows her brows together in disconcertment, her orbs scanning the area as she continues picking up her tracks right beside gray.

the genius idea that gray proposed to her of creating a wondrous collab, displaying her gift for playing the guitar. the time that has passed by since she last strung the chords have been a couple of weeks. despite the fact that she isn’t too concerned of slipping up, considering she’s sat for a good number of days on this project. the language of the song is her native tongue, japanese, which is easy to learn the lyrics of. she’s got the lyrics but meshing the timing with the guitar play is what she’s predominantly focused her concentration on.

she’s not singing alone so she doesn’t reserve hesitations or fears, that could obstruct the magic of the art of music. so she gifts a smile to the camera every now and then, for the world is watching her. many eyes are locked to her, but she keeps singing to the best of her ability.

sakura is not an opera singer, merely an average gal with a soft tone to her voice that’s pleasant to the ear. she’s lived with the opinion of herself to be a good rapper, decent dancer and singer. by this notion, she strives to work hard and better her musicianship. the breaking high note from what she had originally hard is not one she follows. so she trusts in her comfort zone so that her voice doesn’t scatter in ranges of off-pitch.

蛹のままで 眠る魂も 食べかけのまま 捨てたあの夢を もう一度 取り戻せ she catches her breath in the moments where there are gaps within the lyrics to hold her voice control. she’s realised that breathing control is an important technique in singing but has not perfected this feature entirely. the momentum of the song is one that suits her timbre, low and gentle to the ears. gray keeps going on with the guitar, his consistency has sakura at shock at the undying effort and will he has.

❀ hidden talents

veiled by a bashful curtain when it comes to her talents, sakura hinders unraveling her gifts to the whole world.  she only has a small youtube channel to showcase, some poetry but not on an advanced level to a professional songwriter.  she finds serenity in the amazing wonders of music but feels that she would be judged on her lack of stability when it comes to sticking to one talent.  she can sing, dance, and rap but rapping seems to be overshadowing all of the other elements.

though, she doesn't hold back herself when it comes to gray!  she feels accepted, not concerned with screwing up a single note or composing the wrong lyrics.  their hangout nowadays seems to be at his studio, a rad place and definitely one of her favourites!  she’s so excited, filled with intensive passion as he’s inspired her to pursue her rapping.

“what are we going to cover today?”  she asks with a soft, sweet tone and an angelic smile painting her innocent face.  “did you want me to sing or rap? i’m cool with either one, niisama!”   she uses the honourific to show her respect to gray as she does look up to him.
