dean trying to find a "kid-friendly movie" for jack and he puts on wizard of oz because it's one he remembers his mom putting on for him when he was little, and something that’d play on the motel television that he’d put on for sam but got into it himself.

it becomes jacks favourite movie and a movie he now associates with dean. and he does that kid thing where he'll ask to watch a movie with dean and will always put on wizard of oz. and slowly it becomes something the two of them bond over. it’s jack and deans comfort movie.

on their fourth rewatch (of the day), cas comes to check on them, suspicious of the silence in the bunker, to see dean and jack asleep together on the couch. jack had been sitting on the floor, but ended up beside dean part way through ("kid, my back hurts just by looking at you. come sit on the couch, that's what it's here for.") and jack fell asleep first, nodding off on deans shoulder. deans hand, once quietly indulging and carding through jacks hair, is now frozen in place as he seemed to have fallen asleep in the midst of it.

cas watches dorothy, todo, and the lion fall fast asleep in a field of poppies under the wicked witches spell, and he cannot help but think of the winchesters and his son. cas comes to sit next to them, tucking dean and jack in quietly and shushing dean back to sleep, hunter instincts waking him up at the smallest sound. dean makes room for cas in his drowsy state, gently cradling jacks head to not rustle him awake, and dean falls quickly back asleep on cas’ shoulder. cas watches the rest of the film, before deciding on a nap himself alongside the people he cherishes most.

I was wondering with myself for a while with what pronouns to refer to G-d.

Usually G-d is referred to with he/him in the tanach, but like a lot of Jews I know, I'm in the position that G-d doesn't have a gender. And while he/him doesn't necessarily mean "man", and in the original Hebrew these pronouns can arguably be viewed as gender neutral, they're still gendered in english and using them for Him felt a bit off sometimes. I thought about mixing it with she/her or they/them but that also felt off, like I'm forcing something on G-d or something, or implying if G-d is genderless He HAS to use these pronouns.

What I settled on, for now at least, is using He/Him as sort of "neopronouns" for Him. It's still he/him but capitalised. Idk. What do y'all think?

Having parents that are good parents but aren't accepting of lgbtq stuff is weird because like, why am I grieving you while you're still alive. I'm going out doing stuff with you guys as a family that I would usually want to avoid because 'welp, when they find out, this is never gonna happen again.'

Like I just went fishing with my dad today. I have never wanted to go fishing before, until earlier when I realized that when they inevitably find out about the gay stuff, I'm never gonna have the chance to do it.

Every time I'm having a good time with them, I'm happy. I can pretend for a minute that everything is gonna be fine and dandy forever. But there's always this pit in my stomach knowing that it's not really gonna last.

And I know it goes without saying, but it really fucking hurts.

All I want is to stay close with you, to go out to dinner, to joke around, to help with the yard work, to show you my art, to visit on the holidays, and spend birthdays with you, but it's not gonna happen.
