Welcome to Green With Envy's second year, folks!

The first one went so spectacularly and had so much support that we're back at it again!

For those of you who didn't participate or spectate last year, this is an artist event that comes in two parts.

Part one is the chill half of the event, aimed at people who love to draw but hate to color. Over the next two months, a form will be open for anyone to drop Danny Phantom themed line art at the event's doorstep. Which we will promptly "ooh" and "ahh" over before hoarding away.

Part two is the competitive half of the event, aimed at people who love to color but hate to draw. This is where things get spicy~ After being divided into small pods of 3 to 8 people, colorists will compete for points by taking brushes to as much line art as physically possible!

But this competition has a twist. What line art you color and when completely changes how many points your team gets! It's all about strategy, and if you aren't careful, another team may just come in and Poach your precious lead away from you!

All are welcome regardless of skill level for both halves of the event.

🌺 Can I have a Butterfly Needle? 🌺 Chapter Two

This chapter is much longer! I'm a bit proud of it. You can read chapter one here! Content: FTM (Transgender) Daisuke, Fluff, Romance, Male Reader, MLM, Snarky Banter, Tired Reader, somewhat nagging/nitpicky reader

You were standing on the platform at the train station, the sky on its transition into a dark cerulean as it mourns the departure of the sun. You look down at your phone, but it seems like the screen isn’t working, you should probably get that busted old thing fixed soon. You swipe and tap at the glass, only for it not to respond, flashing your lock-screen, the clock on your screen ticking away. (Authors Note: 18:00 = 6:00 PM for those who don’t like 24hr clocks <3) 18:06, 18:07, 18:08.

Seemed fast for minutes, but whatever… You put your phone in your pocket, to warm your left hand up a bit after being suggested to the unforgiving cold, giving you a lesson for not wearing gloves. This train was sure taking it’s sweet ass time, at this rate you’d be home at an ungodly hour, and it was your turn to be cooking dinner tonight. Like it was every night, because Daisuke didn’t know how to cook, and he eventually just started mooching off of you because he was sick of eating instant ramen. You always seemed to have leftovers of leftovers after he had a plate anyway. You didn’t mind it sometimes.. Because sometimes you needed those Tupperwares cleared for the next night you cooked anyway. You thought of it like giving the scraps to the dog under the table, it was a transaction! You look to your left, expecting to see the train, or the screen of wait time being shorter, but as soon as you do…

SLAM!!

”Hey! I bought us the stuffs..” Daisuke said breathlessly as you recover from jumping out of your skin. He had slammed the door after coming in.. You groggily look around, feeling your warm mattress under you, and the cool wetness of sweat on your skin. Covered in sheet marks on your face and one of your pant legs up your knees. “Damn.. That sleep was good ain’t it?” Daisuke giggled, with that stupid Beavis and Butthead ass laugh. Whatever. You sit up and stretch, letting out a sort of dramatic groan. You rub your eyes, then look at the several bags he puts down on the kitchen table. Did he buy THAT much damn Orange Juice!?

“What’s all that? Thought you went to buy yourself some OJ..” You say, your voice nearly cracking on that first word or two as your vocal chords get acclimated to speaking again after the nap you had. “Well, I just saw a few extra things I thought we needed..” Daisuke said, his gaze avoiding yours as he looked down inside the bags, he pulls out a bottle of orange juice a bit bigger than you’d like for your budget, but it was his money, so it was probably fine. “Extra things? Like what? I told you we had everything else stocked…” You say, your concern for what he could have possibly felt he needed to buy registering to him as you telling him off already. “But- but I found some good stuff, honest!” He said, defensively, but still not exactly taking out the ‘good stuff’ from the bag. “Well? Let’s see it.” You say, crossing your arms. Daisuke pauses, sort of staring at you blankly for a moment, before sighing and opening the plastic bag to take out what he’d bought.

He takes out a hibiscus gel bead air freshener. “Why do we need this?” You ask, and he opens it up, immediately putting it to his face before even thinking about a response. “DON’T- …Start huffing that” You say, pinching the bridge of your nose, the sudden word startling him out of sniffing the air freshener. He brings it away from his face, looking down at the colorful beads. “Well, I see them in the the study hall a lot, and the study hall smells good, so I figured we could use one.” He explained. “You don’t go sniffing up the one in the study hall do y-” “No comment.” Daisuke interjects. You sigh and bring your hand away from your face. “we have Febreeze in the bathroom.” You say, looking at him as he holds the little tub of beads. “So? The Febreeze don’t spray itself..” He says, as if constant fragrance was simply a must. “Did you even stop to consider that it’s nearly winter and you’re buying this tropical scent?” You ask, because hibiscus is a more tropical and floral scent, more suited for summertime in your eyes. “Yeah? So what? It smells good.” Daisuke says, not exactly sharing the same perspective. “You don’t want to get something more suited for winter? A little cozier? Like why not instead buy a candle? They have all sorts of scents, and more importantly, ones that aren’t so summery. Like a warm vanilla, or maybe a pine fragrance” You suggest, and he raises a brown. “Those sound dumb.” He said bluntly. “Dumb? As dumb as buying HIBISCUS in November!?” You said, because he clearly didn’t understand the importance of scents. “Dude, it’s not that deep. Only you would care so damn much about the specific scent I picked for the house.” Daisuke chuckled, finding your reasoning ridiculous. “Alright- whatever, whatever. What else did you get?” You ask, not wanting to bother arguing with him anymore. “Alright… so I got this.” Daisuke says, then pulls out a toilet brush with the most outrageous print on it.

“What. Is that.” You say, looking at that UGLY toilet brush. “Ain’t it cute?” Daisuke says, proudly holding it up. “NO! NO IT’S NOT!” You say quickly after, laughing at the absurdity. “You spent precious doubloons on something that looks like what a grandma would own.” You chuckle, to which Daisuke chuckled too. “Well what’s the harm in a fresh new toilet brush? That one in there is probably covered in bacteria anyway.” He said, causing you to actually think about it. It’s true, that old toilet brush was yours, and you’d had it for a while, so maybe the only bad thing about that purchase was that the damn brush was ugly. “You know what, touché. Put the brush in the bathroom” You shrug as you spoke, and Daisuke grinned smugly. “See? Told ya” He said proudly. “And the rest of the things in that bag?” You ask, looking at the last bag. “Oh, that’s just.. a bunch of stationary.” He said, not as enthusiastically. “Oh, that’s actually not so bad!” You say, sort of happy for him for buying something for himself that he needed for productivity.

“Yeah, I bought more because you keep taking all my sticky notes and gel pens..” Daisuke rolled his eyes, then looked back at you with a raised brow. You did steal his pens, because they wrote smoothly and didn’t carve the page like the dry ballpoint pens they kept in the study hall. That and they had nice, vibrant colors, it was great for separating different components in the mountains of notes you took. “Please, all that stationary you buy always seems to go toward little sketches and daydreams. I’m putting those pens to good use.” You say, shaking your head. “Your welcome.” He said smugly. “Thanks, Daisuke.” You sigh, deciding to humor him, just because you sort of felt a little guilty for taking his pens.

You turn to the kitchen, going to the lower cabinet. There was a bin in the shelf that held all of the coffee for your household coffee machine. Unfortunately, the only one left was a blueberry cobbler flavored coffee that you just.. didn’t like. You sigh, and push he bin back in, and close the cabinet. You grab the metal reusable cup, and go to the upper cabinet, to look for a small bag of coffee grounds.. You can’t find them, you check the cabinets, but none. Not only was there no coffee, but there were a few cooking ingredients out of stock. “Yeesh. Beasting for a cup of coffee already?” He said, after having watched you almost frantically check the cabinets. “hhhhaaaaagghhhh…. we need to go grocery shopping.” You say, pissed off at the idea of going back outside. “But I thought we were all good? You were wrong?” Daisuke asked. “Don’t say it like that.” You say, hearing it pointed out like that hurting your pride a bit. “Why? You were, no shame in it.” Daisuke said, once again. “Yeah, I was.. and now I need to go to the supermarket so I can cook tonight.” You sigh, walking over to your dresser. “What? No, no, I can do it. I’m already dressed!” Daisuke said, noticing your fatigue. He knew how much you had on your plate already. “No, no. You wouldn't know what to get.” You say, starting to get dressed.

“Seriously? I really hate how you treat me like I’m some incompetent little kid sometimes.” Daisuke said firmly. It was a tone he didn't often take, but this was something that had been pissing him off for a while now. This intensity in his tone isn't missed by you, and before you speak, you take a mental note of it. This in specific upset him. So instead of saying what you might have wanted to, like ‘But you act like one.’ Or ‘I don't treat you like anything…’, you decide not to agitate him any more. You sigh, and think for a moment. “Look, how about we both go? There's enough things to split between the both of us, and we can both have the responsibility.” You say, trying to compromise.

“…Together?” Daisuke said, at first, he thought that wouldn't make sense, because he thought he could very well do it on his own. Although, after putting more thought into it, he figured it wouldn't be so bad anyway, and since there were extra hands, it wouldn't be a hassle to bring up the groceries from his car. “Yeah, that sounds good.” Daisuke says, and looks back at you. “Good, and maybe then I can help you save your wallet from your impulse buying.” You say, in hopes to lighten the mood, and make Daisuke ease up. It works, as he gives a faint chuckle and a smile. “Still nagging me? Seriously?” He said, as he watched you step into your sneakers. “Get your keys.” You rolled your eyes as you spoke, to which he jingled his car keys that he’d already been holding. You nod, and pull on your jacket.

After zipping up and making sure you had everything you needed, you and Daisuke leave your dorm, silently walking down the hallway. You found comfort in silence, not in that stupid way people said when they just wanted to be quirky in antisocial, but in the sense that the silence was more of a show of comfort toward whoever you were around. Daisuke however, didn't. His mind was always running, and he needed some sort of way to stimulate his brain during the silence that he considered to be awkward. So, as usual, he opens his mouth to start talking. “So, you think this’ll be a calm little mini stock or we're going all out? Is this a Shop-rite or Costco grocery trip?” He asked, mostly to start conversation. “Hm. Well, I was thinking Shop-rite, because I don't have a Costco membership.” You mumble, having been pulled out of your head by his voice. “I do! Remember?” He said a bit more enthusiastically than you’d expect when talking about Costco. “Ah, you do, don't you?” You say almost subconsciously, not even fully meaning your sarcastic tone. “We could go and stock up there” He says, stuffing his hands in his pockets. “Well, I still don't know, Shop-rite is RIGHT there, yanno? That and I dunno if I feel like buying in bulk” You say, earning a nod in acknowledgement from your roommate. “Nah, totally.” He says, looking at the floor as the conversation dies again.

The silence falls over the both of you again as you enter the elevator. Daisuke feels.. awkward. Are you not talking to him because he's being annoying? He's self aware right? Or.. maybe you were just grumpy about the trip, he thinks to himself. Regardless, he's getting antsy from the silence. He looks up at you, getting ready to speak again. “Hey-” “You don't *need* to fill the silence.” You interrupted. This catches Daisuke off gaurd, and makes his heart sink a bit. Was he being annoying? Did you stop him because he's was being annoying? He didn't mean to genuinely annoy you. He just liked talking to you.. Recognizing how your prior statement could be interpreted, you continue. “If you want to speak to me, that's fine, but don't just talk if you want to fill the silence” You said, hoping that would prevent him from being hurt or upset. “I don't mind just chilling with you, you're good.” You say, which instantly lifts a weight off Daisuke’s shoulders. He smiles, that wide smile with the big ol’ gap between his two front teeth. “Yeah? You mean it?” He said, trying to sound nonchalant and casual, but not doing a very good job at it. “Yeah. Yeah I mean it.” You respond, not exactly realizing how much it meant to him of course.

You two arrive at Daisuke’s car, because you didn't own a car of course. He gets in the driver's seat, while you get in the passenger's, and he turns the car on. The car was a sleek, navy Honda accord. Not some fancy ride, but it was a pretty new make, so it wasn't some rinky dink tuna can like many other students drove around campus. Daisuke pulls out of his parking spot, and starts on the route toward Shop-rite. “You want the aux?” Daisuke asked, in another attempt to get to know you more. You think about it, and you're a little insecure about showing off your music taste at first. You weren't in the mood to hear it the whole ride if he didn't like it. But, you decide that there wasn't much harm in it, and take your phone out of the pocket. “Yeah, sure why not.” You say calmly, and hook up the car speaker to your music app.

You play your most recent playlist, and at first, it seems like Daisuke doesn't react. But before you could start thinking too deeply behind his lack of reaction, he looks at the song on your phone screen, held up by a clip on his dashboard. “You listen to this?” He chuckles, not in a scornful manner, but an endeared one. “Yeah uhm. I’ve been into this genre since like- highschool.” You respond, not thinking too deeply into it anymore. Daisuke files this information away in his mind, along with the other three things he MAYBE knew about you. Sometimes it felt like he didn't know anything at all. “Never took you for a guy that like this stuff. I’m not like- SUPER in the loop, but I’ll bump this genre sometimes.” Daisuke happily replies, glad that he's found another thing to have in common with you, even if not majorly. You felt a sense of relief pass through you, not that you were all too wound up about it, but it was refreshing not to be poked at for something you liked, even if you knew it wasn't very serious. “Yeah, this isn't my only vibe, but this was my go to for a long time, I feel like I can't just let go…” You say, which sound a bit more emotional than you intended, that might end up awkward..

Daisuke ponders that last sentiment for a moment, but only a moment. “Who says you need to?” He says, as he drives, his eyes not looking away from the road even for a second it seemed. “Well, I know I don't NEED to but..” You say, trying to avoid anything you’ve heard before, but for some reason, it was so hard to get in touch with this feeling enough to properly articulate it. “I kinda get that feeling, like watching everyone else’s tastes evolve while yours remain the same can feel a bit lonely. That, or like you're missing out on something, but you don't know what.” Daisuke said, honestly just speaking from the heart. You could pick that up in his tone as well, that he was being honest. You felt… glad. Glad that Daisuke felt comfortable enough to talk to you so sentimentally about something as silly as music tastes. It wasn't like anything you’d hear from some of your other buddies.. The conversations with them just never seemed to steer in an emotional or sentimental direction. “Yeah, that's exactly it..” You say, your thoughtful voice reflecting sense of vulnerability that began to emerge. “Yeah, I like to think that no matter how long your interests remain the same, it won't change how much you’ll enjoy the new things you're guaranteed to find. So why does it matter when you find it?” Daisuke said, all while looking at the road. “You know, that might be the most insightful thing I’ll ever hear you say.” You say, teasing him because you don't even know how to contribute to a conversation like this, you felt… kind of unequipped. “Wow! How nice! And here I am trying to encourage you and make you feel welcome in MY CAR!” Daisuke laughed bantering back. He wasn't expecting deep conversation from you, but boy was he pleased that you were willing to let HIM talk like this and not shut him down. That meant it might not be as difficult to get closer to you than he thought, right?

You on the other hand, are still grappling with this feeling. It felt nice, but it wasn't just that ‘oh cool’ kind of nice. It was something you couldn't yet place, and yet took so much comfort in it. Well, no point in thinking about it so much, you decide to just enjoy the feeling. “Oh hey- make sure to turn left at the end of this street.” You remind him, you don't really know why, but you did. It just came to you like it was second nature. “Ah, thanks. I almost forgot because I was talking.” Daisuke replied, offering you a quick glance finally as he breaks out of his own head.
