1-2-3-4 Legacy Challenge

The 1-2-3-4 Legacy Challenge puts a twist on the traditional Legacy Challenge by spanning across all four mainline Sims games:

One generation in TS1

Two generations in TS2

Three generations in TS3

Four generations in TS4

This adds up to 10 generations in total. The goal is to explore the evolution of The Sims gameplay over the years! There is more information below, but feel free to run with the idea — customize it to suit your playstyle and tell the story you want to tell!

HOW TO PLAY / SUGGESTIONS:

Play One Generation in TS1: Start with a single Sim, find a partner through gameplay, and have at least one child. If you have more than one, designate one Sim to be the "heir."

Moving to TS2: When you’ve chosen an heir, "move" your family to TS2. Recreate your Sims in CAS, matching their physical features, clothing, and personalities as closely as possible. Adjust your starting funds to match your TS1 net worth, build or buy your home, and continue the legacy! Think about your family's story as they transition from game to game. Consider writing out how and why your Sims "moved." Were they Simply looking for a change of scenery, or did they "time travel" to another world?

Moving to TS3: When your Gen 4 heir is a child (or teen), it's time to move on to TS3! Think about which Sims you would like to take with you, and why. Would they all move together or would some stay behind? Once you’ve decided, recreate your family, and adjust your starting funds.

Moving to TS4: Finally, when your Gen 7 Sim is ready, it's time to transition to TS4. Decide which Sims you will move, recreate your family, and adjust your family funds one last time. It's time for the final act of your Sims' legacy.

OPTIONAL CHALLENGE IDEAS:

The Sims 1: There are no money cheats, but you can use terrain manipulation to reduce your funds if you want a more difficult starting scenario. If you're feeling brave, try to reach the top level of your Sims' career — that's not easy in TS1.

The Sims 2: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and/or complete their lifelong aspirations. Lifelong aspirations are like a box of chocolates — you never know what you're gonna get. This adds an element of randomness that can make your story even more interesting.

The Sims 3: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and/or fulfill their lifetime wishes. Personally, I enjoy randomizing my Sims’ traits rather than selecting them manually. However, as always, you should do what is the most fun for you.

The Sims 4: Try to reach the top level of your Sims' careers, and complete all milestones for at least one aspiration per Sim.

If you're looking for more structure / optional challenges, simslegacychallenge.com is a fantastic resource. Pick and choose whichever rules you like best.

General Advice:  To keep it fresh, consider choosing a different career/aspiration/etc. for each generation. Also, make sure to save often and create backups of your game at least once per generation — hopefully you will not need them. During my playthrough, The Sims 3 became corrupted and all of my sims stopped aging. 😢 Do not underestimate the time commitment that you’re making - Legacy Challenges can easily take hundreds of hours to complete.

Dulce’s lifelong friend, Matthew Fyres, agreed to take the stand in court to verify the digital evidence. He works in cybersecurity and is highly skilled in computer science.

Back in Italy, he lived a bit further from Dulce and Guillermo, so they didn’t get to hang out as much. However, their bond was as strong as ever. He was more than willing to help Dulce.

It was risky to use him instead of a random expert who would be undeniably neutral on the stance, but part of the strategy was to show that Dulce has a lot of support and loyal friends.

“Mr. Matthew Fyres, please explain your role and credibility,” Antonio calmly asked. He knew Matthew was quite nervous.

Matthew took a deep breath to soothe himself. “I work for the cybersecurity agency of Italy’s government. I cannot share much about what I do since I handle sensitive information, but I am a professional in this line of work.”

“And you have verified the digital evidence we presented thus far? Including Ms. Alegría’s cookbook project files and data from her channel?”

“Yes, that’s correct.”

Isabela smirked. It was her turn to question him.

“Mr. Fyres. I’d also like to point out the interesting timeline of the creation of these digital records. They only date back to about a year ago, correct?”

Matthew hesitated.

Dulce’s eyes widened.

It’s true! Still, it’s her work. She transferred everything over from-

“Yes..” Matthew admitted. He was stuck! He didn’t know what else to say to that.

The courtroom began to fill with a few whispers from the jury and audience.

Dulce was thinking of something, what was it???

Isabela took a sharp turn and faced the jury. “And the social media accounts? When the evidence was being presented, I noticed a small dip in viewership and subscriptions before Mr. Caruso’s video was published. There was one, correct?”

“Yes, because Mr. Caruso posted an Instagram story announcing the breakup. However, the percentages were an insignificant amount.”

“It was still a noticeable amount. Viewers and sponsors were already losing faith in her or only liked her because of Mr. Caruso. Her videos appealed to the masses because she was good at playing the part of a chef with humble beginnings. However, many comments in Mr. Caruso’s video prove that a good portion of viewers already had suspicions about her. He inspired other people to come forward with their opinions. Ms. Alegría is not a real chef. She is a liar and a manipulator. Her downfall was destined to come sooner or later–”

“Objection! Ms. Campos is making baseless accusations against my client.”

Too many objections can make a lawyer look like there is something to hide, but Antonio felt like he had to do it.

“Overruled. Continue, Ms. Campos.”

Antonio sat down, his mind racing.

“Here is my last question: So far, we’ve gathered that Ms. Alegría is rather skilled at exploiting others. Could she have persuaded you to fabricate or alter the evidence? Just like how she let Mr. Caruso believe there was a future between them AND persuaded him to let her take credit for his recipes?”

The courtroom burst with noise as people reacted to her bold claims. Some people seemed persuaded.

Antonio glared at Isabela. I miscalculated...

Dulce looked down. It was hard to concentrate with all the chatter. Gosh, can everyone shut up for a second?

The judge was exclaiming, “Order! Order!” to no avail.

Then, it clicked. Shit. My notebook! That’s where I originally kept all my recipes. Where did I last see it? Did I leave it in Tartosa?

She smiled.

No, of course I brought it! That's how I transferred everything from my notebook to my computer a year ago.

It’s in my office. It has the dates and everything.

Maybe we can do ink dating testing or whatever it's called!

Things look bad now, but her culinary friends would come another day. Her notebook could surely help too. She has to tell Antonio.

Gen 3. Aurora #34 The Catacombs

The family headed to Tartosa to visit the White Legacy cemetery.

"These are your grandparents. They died when I was young, but they gave me the happiest childhood memories."

Ella took Aurora to visit their memorial. "Your grandmother Snow loved to cross-stitch. I guess I took after her a little, since I loved to knit." "Oh yes, the knits! I played with Claire the Bear and Yarny all my life, but about that sweater...." "Did you like it? It was my masterpiece." "..."

"These were my grandparents on my father's side... your great-grandparents and Uncle Soren, who was the King of Tartosa before he passed."

"And these are Grandma Snow's parents, the Queen and King of the Bramblewood. They loved to cross-stitch too."

"Your oldest uncle Doug and his wife both Ashley died of old age, but it was so tragic. Their eldest two daughters died in accidents. They have one living daughter, Krysta."

"My favorite sister Joy and her husband Taylor. Joy was electrocuted when their 4 kids were young. You'll meet them at your celebration."

Aurora's cousin Noe Bianchi happened to be at the catacombs visiting his parents, who had died of old age. Shylee had been the longest living of the 7 "dwarfs."

"N-nice to meet you."

"Uncle Hayden was quite accomplished. Both him and his wife died elderly, but Uncle Hayden's twin Raphael died by falling from a cliff when he was 50. Another tragic end. He hadn't ever gotten married."

"Uncle Dwight and Aunt Somna were the musical ones in the family. In fact, Aunt Somna was an award-winning violinist! Both died in their old age as well."

"I can't believe I had this many Uncles and Aunts, and I never got to meet them." *Pained silence* "We will meet some of your other cousins at your welcoming banquet."

as soon as eden had found out she was able to graduate early, her first instinct was to call her grandpa. yeah, telling her parents would be important but she could tell them in person once they were home from work.

she picked up the phone and dialed milo’s number -

“hey, pap pap guess what!”

“oh eden is that you, it’s so good to hear from you what’s going on kid?”

“you know how i’ve been doing really well in school recently”

“yeah and i sure am proud of you!”

“pap pap, i graduated high school early!”

“eden, hunny, that’s great! what’s the plan now?

“i’m not sure i think i want to do something with fashion, maybe a style influencer.”

“i’m so proud of you, some on over to my house for a visit when you have the chance, i have a gift waiting for you!”

she heads over to his house right away and when she gets there she noticed that some of his decorations had been taken down. not that he had many to begin with but the photo of him and her father, rownan, had been taken down. she didn’t say anything though she wasn’t sure if she should.

“so you say you’ve got a gift for me…?” she says in a light joking manner, she might be materialistic but she’s still a decent person 😂

“haha yes eden, close your eyes… now open!” he didn’t actually move from his spot, all he did was grab the house key from his back pocket and kept it out of view

“haha um pap pap what’s going on” she still says kind of jokingly but a little confused

“look around, what do you see?”

“umm, i don’t know your house?”

“bingo, it’s all your kid! i can’t keep living in this big house all by myself. i’m going to move out soon to a smaller place in ciudad enamorada, it seems really nice there. but i want you to have this place”

“oh my god no way, are you serious?!”

“of course i am! i bought this place on my own right out of high school with the help of my music career. i want you to harness the creativity here and excel in your career, grow up and start a family here like i did.”

Softly Toward Love - 1336

1336 unfolded with a rhythm both tender and tumultuous. War rolls continued, with Eiríkr being the only one sent off to serve for the next two years.

While the Second Scottish War of Independence raged on and murmurs of the Hundred Years’ War began, life at home carried on.

At The McIntyre household, little Thorstein aged up into an infant, while Eobhan began the delicate process of matchmaking, spending time with local girls in the hope of finding a future wife. Whilst, The Fairbairns kept to their daily rhythms: chores were done, meals were cooked, and life found its way forward.

At The Boyds, Ailis — David's lover and soulmate — gave birth to a baby boy named Callum. Both mother and child survived, and though their story remains complicated, the arrival of Callum was a joy.

The winter's harvest brought in a profit of 2,453 simoleons, with 981 paid in tithe - not a bad season

Matilda MacDonald celebrated her teenage birthday, rolling to get married and have three baby tries. She spent her birthday in the company of her aunt (Ada) and sister (Alesonne), meeting potential husbands. Two caught her eye: Lachlan Bain and Ruairidh MacDara.

Back with The Fairbairns, Marsle gave birth to her third child, Murdoch, who survived his rolls. Sadly, his older sister Eifeag failed her child roll with a 9, and Grim did not grant mercy this time, resulting in her passing from neglect and a grief that was deeply felt.

Finian reached young adulthood and, like others this year, began searching for a wife. Unfortunately, he found no one remarkable enough to spark interest. On a brighter note, his nephew, Colum, found his soulmate in Bridget Sinclair, a small victory in a year of mixed fortunes.

Both Niall Reid and Inga McClery aged into toddlers, marking another wave of growth across the households. At The Fairbairn home, the house was in a bit of disarray, prompting a renewed focus on chores. Ada also explored potential matches, though she felt no attraction to any suitors just yet - not a requirement for marriage, but certainly a help.

The year closed where it began - at The McIntyre house. Jane passed her adult roll, and another baby was welcomed into the world: Arne, who, like many others this year, beat the odds and survived his rolls.

Through love, loss, and the slow churn of passing seasons, the families held steady, softening into the rhythm of life - and moving, always, softly toward love.
