okay i'm looking for this fic that i read on ao3 i think last year, maybe it was a wip back then but im not sure of that.

anyway what I remember is eddie and steve meeting when they were kids, they were on vacation and I think eddie was visiting wayne. there was something about the library, and I think it was eddie who was reading a book under a tree and steve found him there (it could be the other way around) and when he asked for his name eddie told him a fake name, i think because he was hiding from his dad if not then it had something to do with his dad. the fake name was lotr related most likely. They spent the whole day together and it was very sweet. I don't really remember what else happened, idk if they made plans to see each other again another day but eddie never appeared or what but the point is that things didn't end up well for them as kids. then we see them later when they're in highschool and they do not recognize each other. steve is the one having a harder time remembering eddie bc he looks nothing like he did when he was a kid, and he don't even know his real name.

I'm sorry for such a messy summary but i remember just little bits of it. hope someone can help me with this one
