SUSTAINABILITY (Please look at all pictures in the carousel) What you see here are three old Akai S1000 samplers from 1988. Groundbreaking back in the days and a role model, too, I bought them quite cheap but broken, not working at all, dirty and short before becoming electronic scrap. If they would have ended as rubbish we are talking about more than 30kgs rubbish. That´s really a lot and for me even one gramm of trash is one gramm too much. So i decided to give it a try (no i am not an electrician or have background knowledge about such stuff) and fix them. It took me a few hours but with exchanging parts between the three units i found out what parts were working and what parts were dead. I went on the internet and ordered some spare parts (power supply units, background lights for the displays, fuses, etc.). Finally i brought all three units back to life again. Even if they are 34 years old and the amount of their users have become less than when they have been released but there are still many people using these machines.
