More Keiji!! Don't let Vasily's stern words deceive you, he loves that boy more than anything, but this is to be taken seriously!
I've wanted to draw Vasily in a kosovorotka for a good while now and found one with a geometric pattern that wasn't too complicated. Drawing it was actually quite therapeutic even though i copy pasted a lot of elements haha
Background is a stock photo

[Image ID: Image 1: A digital fanart of an older Vasily from Golden Kamuy and OPs OC Keiji. Keiji has short black hair and is wearing an old blue kimono. He is depicted from the waist up in profile, aiming a rifle at something off screen. He has his only visible eye closed. Vasily stands next to him towards the back, slightly stooped and looking at Keiji with a stern expression. His right hand is supporting the rifle in keiji's grasp while the left is on Keiji's back. He's wearing a white kosovorotka (a traditional Russian long sleeved shirt with a side closure at the neck, and embroidery on the hem, sleeves, and collar) with red geometric embroidery. The background is a blurred photo of a forest path. There are three speech bubbles, all with Vasily's dialogue. The first one on the right reads "What are you doing?? I told you this isn't a toy." The second on the top left reads "Your posture is o- keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot!" And the third at the bottom right reads "And open your damn eye" with the last word underlined for emphasis.
Image 2: A dark blue dni banner with white text that reads "DNI: Pro/shippers, AI Users" in big text and "Disrespecting boundaries is mean" in smaller text underneath. End Image ID]

Meant To Be One
Gf!Sam Carpenter x Fem!Reader
One-Shot
Summary: You couldn't have guessed this is where you would end up after letting Sam Carpenter in your life. Well, now you're in your room, hiding, as Sam tries to break down your door whilst revealing the cruel future she has planned for the students of Woodsboro High
Warning(s): Swearing, dark!sam, manipulating/gaslighting, gun(s), mentions of death & killing
Notes: Based off of the song 'Meant To Be Yours.' Not sure how to feel about this one, lemme know what you think
2/7 for Seven Days Of Christmas
Tumblr media
Bang. Bang. Bang—BANG.
That was all you could hear on the other side of the door as Sam Carpenter incessantly pounded on your bedroom door. You tried to be as quiet as possible but deep down you knew no matter how quiet you could be, Sam wouldn't leave until you opened up.
“All is forgiven baby! Come on, get dressed! You’re my date to the pep rally,” she shouted from the other side. You stayed a few feet from the door, not knowing how far Sam would go. You’ve seen how far she could go, and you soon realized she could go much farther.
“Fuck off! You’re a psychotic asshole!” You spat harshly. Sam stared at the door with a grin so sinister you could almost feel it.
“I’m protecting you! If you would just listen instead of chucking me out like trash, you would understand that!”
“Fuck you!”
“Fuck you! You should be dead for the way you’ve treated me!” The grip on Sam’s gun tightened as she spoke, soon loosening once remembering the plan. “But that’s when it hit me like a flash…” Sam took a short pause between, leaving you in a state of suspense. “What if high school went instead? Don’t you see it—those assholes are the key! They’re keeping you away from me!”
“Sam, you’re fucking crazy! So what—what your solution is blowing up our school with everyone in it and we’re just supposed to drive off into the sunset?”
“Do you not want that for us?” You could hear the emotion in her voice, the sorrow in her tone evident. It made you want to give in until you remembered where you were, how you got here, what she had done—no, what you both had done.
“It’s not that simple–”
“Then make it simple!”
“You tricked me into killing my best friend—not to mention the six other people we’ve killed. God. Just saying it out loud… It’s fucked Sam!”
“He was a damn asshole, an asshole that didn’t deserve you. Not like I do.” She spoke with pure venom, just the thought of him and you made her trigger finger itch. “When I found you, it changed my heart… and so I built a bomb. Because that’s how much I fucking love you!” She banged on your door again, causing you to flinch back.
“Love doesn’t equal bombing the whole damn school!” You subtly moved around in your room as you shouted back, looking through your things for something.
“You don't know what you’re saying! They have made you blind, messed up your mind—but I can set you free!” She pounded on the door again. “Just open up, Y/N. Do you really think there’s going back?”
You grabbed the bat from under your bed, getting ready to use it. Your grip squeezed around the handle as you slowly inched towards your door. “Y/N!” Another bang to the door causes you to jolt back. “Open the door, please… Can we not fight anymore?” Sam’s patience was thinning as she was only met with silence. She let out a sharp exhale, her hand subconsciously squeezing around her gun’s handle.  “Don’t make me come in there—I’m gonna count to three!”
“One!”
You let out a shaky sigh, but your eyes suddenly catch sight of your closet.
“Two! Thre—fuck it!” Sam shoots the knob before kicking down the door. She was only wearing the cloak of her ghostface costume, opting to save the mask for later. You saw her look around, confused and frustrated. As she was just about to give up, she noticed your closet slightly open. You suck in a breath, trying your absolute hardest not to be caught. You could hear her combat boots as she inched closer to the closet.
This is it. Your only chance.
Suddenly, the doors abruptly open and instead of giving her a chance to make the first move, you swing your bat. She groans in pain after the metal bat makes contact with her back. You run past her, but Sam has a speedy recovery and immediately starts chasing you. One minute you’re running, the next you’re being pinned to one of your shelfs—books and items falling as she harshly pushed you up against the shelf.
“You really thought you could get away from me baby? Tonight our school is Vietnam, and nothing is changing that,” she says in a low voice. “So you might as well bring marshmallows, we’ll make s’mores,” Sam lets out a sinister laugh at her own remark.
You narrow your eyes at her, looking at her with disbelief and pure confusion. How was this the same woman you fell so hard for?
“I don’t even recognize you…”
“Well you better get associated darling, because there’s no backing out. We’re doing this. There’s no point in fighting it.” She ran hand down your face, her knuckles softly brushing against your cheek and you hate how much you love her touch.
“I’m meant to be yours. We’re meant to be one.”
Just a moment ago you were absolutely repulsed by her plans. Disgusted with her. Disgusted with the vile acts you helped her commit, how she so effortlessly manipulated you, and how easy you fell for it. But oh, when you look into her eyes… it’s hard to say no. You can't help but feel yourself being pulled back into her cruel plans. You couldn’t resist Sam Carpenter. Not when she kissed you the way she did, not when she touched you the way she did, not when you loved her the way you did.
Sam Carpenter had you in a chokehold.
“So what do you say baby?” With a tilt of her head, she looked at while flashing those dark eyes of hers—eyes she knew you couldn’t resist.
“You know I can’t say no to you, Sammy…” You softly spoke defeatedly, completely forgetting the mindset you had just ten minutes ago.
She brushed her thumb against your bottom lip, slightly smirking. “That's my girl. Now let's go blow up some assholes.”
At the end of the day, Sam was right. She was meant to be yours, and you were meant to be hers.
You were meant to be one.

A/N: R did a full 180 but let's be real, who wouldn't for Sam?

What Will You Gain from Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course?
When I first enrolled in the Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course, I thought it would be a routine session just to satisfy legal requirements. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The course turned out to be a transformational experience—not only did it prepare me to safely own and operate a firearm, but it also gave me deeper insight into my rights, responsibilities, and the practical realities of gun ownership. In this blog, I’ll share what I gained from this essential training and why it’s so much more than just a checkbox on the path to becoming a responsible gun owner.
1. A Solid Foundation in Firearm Safety
From the very first session, the course drilled into us the four cardinal rules of gun safety—treat every gun as if it's loaded, never point it at anything you don't intend to shoot, keep your finger off the trigger until ready to fire, and always be aware of your target and what's beyond it.
Before this course, I had handled firearms casually with friends at a shooting range, but I hadn’t appreciated the depth of discipline involved in doing it safely. The Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course instilled in me a lifelong habit of situational awareness and accountability. I realized that gun safety isn’t just about what I do when I'm at the range or out hunting—it's about the mindset I carry every day.
2. Legal Understanding: Know the Law, Stay Out of Trouble
One of the biggest eye-openers was how complex firearm laws are in Maryland. The instructors didn’t just hand us a dry legal pamphlet. Instead, they broke it down: when and where you can legally carry, the difference between concealed carry and open carry, use-of-force laws, and what qualifies as self-defense.
I learned that ignorance of the law isn’t a defense in court. That’s why a major benefit of the Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course is that it makes sure you're legally literate. Whether you’re planning to apply for a Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) or a Wear and Carry Permit, this training arms you with the legal knowledge that could one day protect your freedom.
3. Confidence in Handling a Firearm
Let me be honest: I wasn’t confident handling firearms before taking this course. I worried about misfiring, jamming, or simply making a mistake that could cost someone their life. But under the careful instruction of certified trainers, I learned how to handle a firearm correctly—from how to load and unload a magazine to how to clear malfunctions safely.
By the end of the hands-on training, my confidence had skyrocketed. I could pick up a firearm, inspect it, operate it, and store it responsibly without hesitation. This course didn’t just teach me how to use a gun—it helped me feel secure in doing so.
4. Realistic Understanding of Self-Defense Scenarios
Hollywood paints self-defense as something that happens in a flash: the bad guy appears, the hero reacts, and justice is served. But in reality, there are split-second decisions that carry immense legal and moral weight. Through realistic scenario-based training, our instructors showed us how quickly things escalate and how every action has a consequence.
What I valued most was that the Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course didn’t glamorize using a gun—it emphasized that a firearm should be a last resort. It taught me de-escalation techniques, how to identify real threats, and how to act within the boundaries of Maryland law.
5. Personalized Guidance from Professionals
The course was led by professionals who weren’t just trainers—they were veterans, law enforcement officers, and long-time shooters who had real-world experience. Their stories, insights, and willingness to answer every question made a massive difference in how the material resonated with me.
Their credibility added weight to everything they taught. More importantly, they weren’t there to intimidate or preach—they genuinely wanted us to be safe, informed, and responsible firearm owners. If you’re considering taking the course, I highly recommend going through a reputable training provider like PTPGun. Their commitment to high-quality, practical education stands out in Maryland’s firearm training landscape.
6. Practical Range Time
Another standout aspect was the range training. I had never fired a handgun with a certified instructor beside me before. Having a professional assess my grip, stance, breathing, and trigger control was invaluable. They corrected small mistakes that would have gone unnoticed otherwise.
I also learned how to fire under pressure, how to reload quickly, and how to maintain control in a dynamic environment. This wasn’t just fun—it was life-saving training.
7. Secure Firearm Storage and Responsibility
Safety doesn't end at the range. The course also covered proper firearm storage—something many new gun owners overlook. We learned about gun safes, lock boxes, cable locks, and child-proofing techniques. I left the training knowing exactly how to store my firearm so it's both accessible to me and safe from unauthorized hands.
For me, this reinforced a larger message: gun ownership isn’t just about rights; it’s about responsibilities. The Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course helped me adopt this mindset fully.
8. Meeting Like-Minded People
One unexpected benefit was the sense of community I found. In a room full of trainees, I met people from all walks of life—nurses, small business owners, retirees, single parents—all committed to learning and staying safe. We asked questions, shared stories, and exchanged tips. It helped normalize responsible firearm ownership in a way that made me feel more secure in my journey.
9. Certification that Opens Doors
Completing this course doesn’t just give you knowledge; it also provides the certification needed for your Handgun Qualification License (HQL), a prerequisite for purchasing a handgun in Maryland. Some may see it as a hurdle, but I now view it as a badge of honor. It means I took the time to learn, train, and prepare myself to handle firearms the right way.
10. A Lifelong Commitment to Growth
Most importantly, this course was only the beginning. I now plan to pursue additional training in tactical shooting, first aid for gunshot wounds, and advanced home defense strategies. The fire has been lit, and I’m more committed than ever to continuing my education.
The Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course gave me a foundation that will serve me for life—and potentially save lives.
Conclusion: It’s Worth Every Minute
Whether you’re a first-time gun owner, a seasoned enthusiast, or someone simply looking to understand firearm safety, the Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course offers incredible value. It equips you with critical skills, sharpens your legal knowledge, builds your confidence, and prepares you for real-world scenarios.
And if you're searching for a trusted training provider, I highly recommend checking out PTPGun for Maryland Firearms Safety Training Course. Their dedication to safety, legality, and real-world preparation will leave you better equipped and more confident.
I walked in thinking Id just check a box. I walked out empowered, educated, and responsible. You will too.

3. do not point the gun at anything you don't intend to destroy

Best Practices for Handling and Maintaining Your Rifle
Tumblr media
There’s nothing more frustrating than a rifle that misfires or loses accuracy just when you need it most. Whether you're a professional competitor or an enthusiast, proper care is the key to keeping your firearm reliable and long-lasting. At Hub Sports Equipment, we understand the importance of a well-maintained rifle. Regular maintenance doesn’t just improve performance—it also ensures safety and prevents costly repairs.
Here’s a simple, step-by-step guide to keeping your rifle in top condition.
1. Handle Your Rifle Safely
Safety always comes first! Whether you're using a Walther air rifle or any other model, follow these essential rules:
• Always treat your rifle as if it’s loaded, even when you believe it isn’t.
• Keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot.
• Never point your rifle at anything you don’t intend to shoot.
• Be aware of your surroundings, ensuring a clear line of fire and a safe backstop.
• Store your rifle unloaded and secured in a safe or locked case when not in use.
These simple habits make handling your sports air rifle much safer!
2. Clean Your Rifle Regularly
Dust, moisture, and leftover pellets can affect your air rifle’s performance. Regular cleaning keeps it working smoothly.
How to Clean Your Rifle?
• Unload it first – Always check that there’s no pellet inside.
• Clean the barrel – Use a cleaning rod with a soft cloth or felt pellets to remove dirt.
• Lubricate moving parts – A small drop of oil prevents rust and friction but don’t overdo it.
• Check for loose screws – Tighten any that have come loose over time.
• Wipe the exterior – Use a dry microfiber cloth to keep it clean and dust-free.
A Walther air rifle or any old air gun rifle needs regular cleaning to maintain accuracy and power.
3. Store Your Rifle Properly
Improper storage can damage your rifle over time. Follow these simple storage tips:
• Keep your rifle or any rifle in a dry, cool place.
• Use a gun case – Protect your air rifle accessories from dust and accidental drops.
• Store your old air gun rifle unloaded – Never leave pellets inside when not in use.
• Avoid extreme temperatures – Heat can warp some parts, and cold can affect lubrication.
• Lock it up – If you have kids at home, always keep your air rifle secured.
Proper storage means your rifle will always be ready when you need it!
4. Inspect for Wear and Tear
Even high-quality rifles need occasional check-ups. Every few weeks, do a quick inspection:
• Check the barrel – Make sure it’s straight and free of debris.
• Test the trigger – It should feel smooth, not too stiff or loose.
• Look for rust Wipe down metal parts of your old air gun rifle to prevent corrosion.
• Inspect the seals – If your rifle is losing power, the air seals might be worn out.
If you notice any serious issues, get professional servicing instead of trying DIY fixes. Keeping your air rifle accessories in good condition is just as important!
5. Use the Right Pellets
Not all pellets are the same! The wrong ones can reduce accuracy or even damage your air rifle.
• Match the pellet size to your sports air rifle – Check your manual for the correct type.
• Choose high-quality pellets – Cheap ones may be uneven and affect precision.
• Go for the right weight – Lighter pellets are great for target shooting, while heavier ones work better for hunting.
By following these simple steps, you’ll keep your rifle safe, accurate, and long-lasting. Whether you’re using a sports air rifle or an old air gun rifle, regular care ensures it performs at its best.

Safety Tips for Turkey Hunters : Avoiding Common Mistakes
Turkey hunting offers both excitement and challenge, but it also comes with risks if safety precautions aren't observed. Safety is especially crucial for anyone interested in participating in turkey hunts in Texas, where the landscape, terrain, and turkey behavior add their own unique considerations. This guide covers essential safety tips for hunters of all experience levels to ensure a secure, enjoyable hunting experience during Texas turkey hunts. We’ll cover everything from firearm safety and proper attire to scouting and understanding wildlife behavior, helping you avoid common mistakes.
Tumblr media
1. Firearm Safety: Handling and Positioning
When it comes to any form of hunting, firearm safety is non-negotiable. During turkey hunts in Texas, safety begins with handling firearms responsibly. Start by ensuring your firearm is in good condition and that you’re using the right ammunition for turkey hunting. Here are a few key guidelines to consider:
Point the muzzle in a safe direction: Never point your gun at anything you don’t intend to shoot.
Keep the safety on until you’re ready to fire: This helps prevent accidental discharges.
Practice trigger discipline: Your finger should remain off the trigger until your sights are aligned and you're prepared to shoot.
Be aware of what’s behind your target: Turkeys may move swiftly, so it’s essential to know the landscape behind them to avoid accidentally hitting other hunters or animals.
These principles are critical whether you're hunting in open fields or thick woods commonly found in Texas. Following these rules will minimize the risk of accidents and make Texas turkey hunts safer for everyone.
2. Using the Right Attire and Camouflage
Proper attire is more than just blending in; it also plays a key role in protecting you from accidental injuries. Turkey hunting involves concealment since turkeys have excellent vision and can easily spot hunters. Many hunters wear full camouflage, including face masks and gloves, which increases their stealth. However, keep the following in mind:
Wear blaze orange when moving locations: One of the leading causes of hunting accidents is hunters mistaking each other for game. When moving between locations, wear a blaze orange vest or hat to remain visible to other hunters.
Avoid red, white, and blue clothing: These colors resemble a turkey’s head, which could make you a target for other hunters. Stick to neutral colors and complete camouflage in the field.

How to use airgun
Airguns, often referred to as pellet guns or BB guns, are popular tools for target shooting, pest control, and even competitive sports. However, like any other tool, they require proper handling and care to ensure safety and efficiency. Whether you're a novice or an experienced shooter, mastering the basics of using an airgun is essential. In this guide, we'll cover everything you need to know to use an airgun safely and effectively. Choosing the Right Airgun: Before diving into shooting, it's crucial to select the right airgun for your needs. There are various types of airguns, including spring-piston, gas piston, CO2, and pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) guns. Consider factors such as intended use, budget, and personal preferences when choosing the type and caliber of your airgun. Safety First: Safety should always be the top priority when handling any firearm or airgun. Follow these safety guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries: 1. Treat every airgun as if it were loaded. 2. Always point the muzzle in a safe direction, away from people and property. 3. Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot. 4. Be aware of your target and what lies beyond it to avoid unintentional shootings. 5. Wear appropriate eye protection to shield your eyes from ricochets and debris. Understanding Your Airgun: Take the time to familiarize yourself with your airgun's components and operation. Key parts of an airgun include the barrel, trigger, safety mechanism, and ammunition loading mechanism. Read the owner's manual thoroughly to understand how your specific airgun functions. Loading and Cocking: Each airgun has its own loading and cocking mechanism, so refer to the owner's manual for detailed instructions. Generally, the steps involve: 1. Ensuring the airgun is not loaded and the safety is engaged. 2. Inserting the appropriate ammunition (pellets or BBs) into the magazine or chamber. 3. Cocking the airgun by either breaking the barrel, pulling a lever, or pumping the gun, depending on the type of airgun. Aiming and Firing: Proper aiming is essential for accuracy when shooting an airgun. Follow these steps to aim and fire effectively: 1. Assume a comfortable shooting position, with a stable stance and a firm grip on the airgun. 2. Align the front and rear sights or use an optical sight if equipped. 3. Focus on the target and control your breathing. 4. Squeeze the trigger gently to avoid jerking the gun. 5. Follow through after firing by maintaining your aim and assessing the shot. Practice and Improvement: Like any skill, proficiency with an airgun comes with practice and repetition. Set up a safe shooting range in your backyard or visit a designated shooting range to practice regularly. Start with simple target shooting exercises and gradually challenge yourself with different distances and shooting positions. Seek guidance from experienced shooters or consider joining a local shooting club for additional training and support. Cleaning and Maintenance: To keep your airgun in top condition, perform regular cleaning and maintenance. After each shooting session, wipe down the exterior of the gun and remove any dirt or debris. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for cleaning the barrel and internal components. Lubricate moving parts as needed to ensure smooth operation. Store your airgun in a cool, dry place away from moisture and extreme temperatures. Conclusion: Using an airgun can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience when done safely and responsibly. By following the guidelines outlined in this article and practicing regularly, you can hone your shooting skills and make the most out of your airgun. Remember to always prioritize safety and respect the power of your airgun. Happy shooting!

hihihi can we get a part 2 for gun mistakes??? -leafanon
G'day leafanon!
FOR ANIMATORS/AUTHORS/ARTISTS PT. 2
SNIPERS WILL NOT STICK THE BARREL OF THEIR RIFLE OUT OF OPEN WINDOWS. Best case scenario is you’re sat in a mildly-uncomfortable chair while your spotter stands or sits next to you in an even more uncomfortable chair with a rangefinder. Before rangefinders were introduced (1990s and earlier) you were merely going off estimates (“That building is 50 yards, the next is 25, etc etc”). You never put the barrel out a window because it’d give away your position and put you AND YOUR SPOTTER in danger.
MOST MODERN SCOPES HAVE AN ANTI-GLARE COATING AND/OR A SUNSHADE TO PREVENT GIVING AWAY YOUR POSITION. This is especially useful when hunting as many animals (deer, turkeys, pigs) are incredibly vigilant and will bolt if they see the glint off a scope. This also helps with the sunlight hitting your scope and nearly blinding you from taking your shot. There are some cases of this still happening in “modern” times (notoriously the sniper duel between Carlos Hathcock and Cobra, a North Vietnamese sniper during the Vietnam War) but it’s very rare and scopes that are currently used by police, military, and most hunters don’t glint. This is what a sunshade looks like.
Tumblr media
BULLETS DO NOT PENETRATE WATER WELL. Water density is much higher than air and the shape of bullets means they don’t travel well in water. Most bullets will fragment or fold upon hitting the surface of the water and their speed is greatly reduced. Supersonic rounds (such as rifle-calibre, up to .50) fragment within a metre (~3ft) of the water’s surface. Slower sub-sonic rounds (such a pistol-calibre) can travel up to 3m (~10ft). Once you’re a metre under the surface, however, it’s unlikely for any round under .50 to even penetrate you on contact as it loses most of its kinetic power. Arrows however are very aerodynamic and may maintain their kinetic energy up to 2m (~6) and perhaps twice that if you're shooting straight down.
RESEARCH. RESEARCH. RESEARCH. Know the weapons you draw/animate/write. It might not matter to you, but it will make or break it to your viewer. Is the weapon single-shot or does it use a magazine? What is the magazine capacity? What is the recoil? How do you reload? What do you do in case of a jam? Does your character know the weapon well? YouTube is your best friend in this regard.
CLIPS AND MAGAZINES ARE NOT THE SAME THING. These are clips vs magazines. Clips are open and hold the cartridge by the bottom. Magazines fully enclose the cartridges. Clips only hold rounds together to make them easier to feed into a magazine.
Tumblr media
BLOODY TRIGGER DISCIPLINE. If your character is waving a firearm around with their finger on the trigger I am personally coming to kick your arse. You keep your finger off the trigger until you’re ready to shoot. YOU DO NOT POINT YOUR MUZZLE TOWARD ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO SHOOT.
PROPANE TANKS WILL NOT EXPLODE IF YOU SHOOT THEM. Also, handguns are rarely powerful enough to pierce propane tanks. CARS WILL NOT BLOW UP IF YOU SHOOT THE PETROL TANK.
IF YOU FIRE A FIREARM IN AN ENCLOSED SPACE IT IS GOING TO TEMPORARILY DEAFEN YOU. GUNS ARE BLOODY LOUD. That’s why we wear ear protection. This applies less in intense combat situations as (in my experience) tinnitus doesn't happen if you start shooting after your adrenaline starts pumping.
MAG-DUMPING. Not only is it very dangerous because of the recoil, it’s a stupid waste of ammo as the recoil buggers up your aim so you’re rarely hitting your target. Unless your character is in a panic and/or holding down the trigger out of rage, they’re not going to mag-dump because you’ll empty your entire magazine in only a few seconds (stupid in a combat situation) and rarely hit your target. Fully automatic weapons are fired in short bursts of 2-5 rounds at a time.
IT’S INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO HIT A MOVING TARGET. IT’S EVEN HARDER TO DO IT WHEN YOU’RE THE ONE MOVING. Rounds fired while moving are typically just suppression fire—basically shots fired to make your enemy take cover so that they have no time to shoot at you. You are not aiming at a specific target. It’s spray-and-pray.
HIPFIRING IS SPRAY-AND-PRAY. It’s EXTREMELY difficult to hit a target while hipfiring and hitting any intentional target while doing so requires EXTENSIVE practice. For this reason most hipfiring is spray-and-pray—spray, and pray you hit something.
SHOTGUNS ARE EFFECTIVE AT MUCH FURTHER THAN ONLY A YARD OR TWO. Most stay clustering within 50yds. That’s this distance. If you're firing a slug it can be accurate to up to TWICE THIS DISTANCE.
Tumblr media
SHOTGUNS WILL NOT THROW THE VICTIM ACROSS A ROOM. They don’t have that much kinetic power, and even if they did, they’d throw the shooter across the room first because they’re taking the brunt of the kinetic energy in the form of recoil.
BULLETS WILL PEIRCE CARS. Car doors will not protect you from bullets, not even the door of a police cruiser. THE ONLY PART OF A CAR THAT WILL PROTECT YOU FROM BULLETS IS THE ENGINE BLOCK. The rest is just concealment cover and will not protect you.
MOST CRIMINALS IN THE USA WILL NOT HAVE FULLY AUTOMATIC WEAPONS. This is less applicable to scenes that occur before the 1980s when there were more full-auto weapons on the streets, but even then were INCREDIBLY expensive and even your most notorious gangster would be unlikely to have them. Unless your character is a top-of-the-line 1920s-1940s Chicago/NY mobster, they probably won’t have that Tommy gun unless they’re filthy rich or the weapon was given to them by someone else who's filthy rich.
YES, YOU CAN MAKE RUNAWAY GUNS (FULL-AUTO) OUT OF SEMI-AUTO FIREARMS. NO, I WILL NOT TELL YOU HOW TO MAKE THEM. The issue with runaway guns is that once you pull the trigger THEY WILL NOT STOP FIRING EVEN IF YOU TAKE YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER. THEY WILL KEEP FIRING UNTIL THE MAGAZINE IS EMPTY OR UNTIL THEY JAM. For this reason no one in their right mind is making a runaway gun.
STOP HOLDING YOUR HANDGUN SIDEWAYS. YOU DON'T LOOK COOL, YOU LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT AND THAT'S HOW YOU GET JAMS. Having a character do this is a great way to show they're all bluff and an idiot, though.
YOU CANNOT PUT A SUPPRESSOR ON A REVOLVER. Well, technically you can, but it won't work. There's a gap between the cylinder and the bore and in this space is something called the forcing cone. There's a gap between the forcing cone and the bore which allows gas (and sound) to escape from the cylinder, which renders the suppressor absolutely useless since the sound and gas just escapes anyway.
FOR VISUAL CREATORS SPECIFICALLY: REMEMBER EYE RELIEF. YOU NEED TO BE A CERTAIN DISTANCE FROM THE SCOPE TO GET A FULL PICTURE. IF YOUR CHARACTER HAS THEIR EYE TO THE SCOPE THEY ARE GOING TO GIVE THEMSELF A BLACK EYE WITH THE RECOIL. My personal eye relief when shooting my .30-06 is 10cm (~4in). Higher calibre means more kick, which means more eye relief.
As before, if I think of any more I'll add them later!
As always, if you have any questions feel free to send me an ask!

Jimin
Mafia! Jimin
You were in the middle of a scheduled pick up, collecting the gang's share of the profits for the month. There had already been 3 today and all had gone as routine as the times before. You're in a residential building site, parked in one of the driveways, and on a Sunday too, so it's nice and quiet and empty. There was no reason to think that this stop would be any different than the last.
That was until the lights and sounds of police sirens filled the street.
You could only watch on in dread as 4 cop cars sped into the driveway trapping you and the two men into a box. With a 10-foot foundation wall behind you and building walls on either side, you were now realizing that this location wasn't so much secure, as it was an obvious dead end.
Looking back in the side-view mirror, you can see Jimin with the dealer. The guy panics instantly, pulling out his gun without a chance to even aim it before he is blown away. There are dozens of deafening shots all at once and the guy, no older than you, drops down dead.
Barely able to contain your terror, you are not able to do anything but to watch helplessly as Jimin dives behind the rear of the car to avoid the stray bullets.
Slowly, the officers start down the concrete path, closing in tighter, all of them with their guns drawn, all of them looking alarmed and ready to fire. With this many cops, you know neither of you stands a chance. There is no escape here, not without a miracle. But you know Jimin. You know he isn't going to just give in. He's said it before, he's said it often. He might die, but he'll die fighting before he dies in a cage.
The officer coming closest to the car bangs on the hood to draw your attention making you jump. "Stay in the car," He mouths the words.
You can't abide. If you don't do something Jimin is going to get himself killed. He may be willing to die, but you're not willing to lose him. You shake your head hard, swinging the car door open, stepping out tensely with your hands upright. Your arms and legs are shaking with pure adrenaline, relying on nothing but a prayer that they don't shoot you right now.
"Get back in the car." "Stay in the car." "Miss, get back in the car." A sea of loud, demanding voices shout at you all at once. While your survival instinct is telling you to obey the angry people with guns, you ignore them all. Your instinct-your love for Jimin is greater than your fear.
Walking paced steps backwards, you're watchfully eyeing them. They're still pressing forwards, but they have slowed substantially. Half of the group aiming more aggressively, and the other half pointing their guns at you more hesitantly. Calls of stay in the car turn into orders to get on the ground. But you can't, you won't.
Coming in line with the back of the car, Jimin is knelt behind it his gun in hand. "Y/n! What the fuck are doing?!" he snaps, eyes full of worry.
He may bluster to everyone else, but you know the full expression. In private he'd whisper the ending to you and only you. 'I'd die fighting before I ever die in a cage. And I'll spend my life locked up before I ever see you hurt.'
"Get back in the car!" He growls.
"No," you whisper.
"Get back in the car!"
"No."
"Oh for fucks sake, will you just listen to me for once!" He growls, running his hand back through his hair, about to lose any composer he has remaining.
"No!" You shout, your eyes darting from the cops to Jimin and back.
He roars, grabbing your shirt, yanking you down the ground beside him. The commands of the police heighten and start coming more frequently as they steadily begin to entrap the two of you again.
"I'm gonna beat the hell outta you after this." He shouts, reaching over the top of the car to fire a slew of shots, not aiming to hit anyone but just trying to keep the cops away.
"Fine. Do it. But just let there be an after." You plead, eyes filling with tears. "Put the gun down. Please!"
"What?! No!"
"Come out with your hands up or we open fire." A far off voice, coming through a speaker, gives a sickening order.
Jimin's harsh defiant look turns to one of pure fright and frenzy. He knows if they're shooting at him, they're shooting at you.
His hand scrunches in the scruff of your shirt, dragging you flat to the ground further out of harms-way, using the same momentum to launch himself into the open, weapon ready. He gets only 2 shot off before they retaliate with more than half a dozen. Not all connect, one catching his leg, another his shoulder. The hits double him over, making him drop the gun.
It all happens before you are able to even turn back over. The sight of him struck has you screaming, acting rashly and impulsively. You wail his name clambering to your feet, wrapping your arms around his neck. Lifting him upright, you're covering him with your body as much as you possibly can. You don't pause think what might happen right now if the officers began to fire again. You only know you need to save him from them. Save him from himself. Pushing him with your chest, you force him back more and more until his body hits the foundation wall. You turn yourself around towards the encroaching men and women, shoving your weight roughly against him. To shield him, and trying your best to keep him pinned to the bricks so he is unable to act suddenly or foolishly.
Thankfully the cops still seem hesitant to shoot at you. Although you don't trust it for it to last much longer.
Your stomach drops, feeling a warm wetness dripping over the exposed skin on your upper back. Jimin's shoulder is bleeding heavily down you.
This is so fucking bad.
"Stop, please stop, Baby!" You whisper to Jimin, nearly unable to form the words due to the shake in your voice. It's just the two of you opposing 7 armed police officer. You know he hates the thought of defeat, he may even hate you for this, but neither of you has any way of winning this standoff.
His forehead presses to the back of your head, his hot breath fanning down your neck. In the smallest motions, you feel him nod against you.
Raising them in surrender, his arms come out from behind you. There's a sharp pain in your side with a sudden booming sound. It knocks your breath away. You whine, your hand squeezing tighter against his legs, into the fabric of his jeans.
"Y/n?" Jimin knows what's happening before you do.
One of the officers mistook Jimins actions as hostile and got twitchy with his gun.
You gasp slumping back into him, your legs weakening. He catches you, lowering with you as you fall to the floor. "Baby!"
Jimin looks up to the cop who fired. He's memorizing every detail of their face. Already having resigned to hunt them down and make them suffer.
Finally able to inhale, you cry out a low scream, pain spreading from your stomach up. "Jimin," you cry clawing his arm, fingers wrapped in his sleeve.
The swarm of police starts to move more frantically. A knee flies at Jimin sending him into the wall, separating him from you. Without him, you fall flat into the dirt. To your right one of the men is forcing Jimin to the ground with a knee trying to flatten him. But he isn't giving in, fighting and struggling against the weight, desperately trying to get back to you.
Even as there are three of them versus only Jimin, he is still putting up enough resistance that they are unable to fully hold him.
"Y/n!" He yells, as one of his arms is pinned behind his back, driving him heavily into the dirt. "Get the fuck off!" he snarls.
Your throat feels full. You're starting to choke, spluttering blood out and down your cheeks. Your hands clutching your stomach are wet and slippery from blood. The heavy amounts of it pouring from you making you weaker with each passing second.
"Alright!" There's a heavy thump as Jimin stops resisting and is plunged aggressively into the floor. "Just help her! Help her!" With all of the pain and fear you're feeling, it's the pure panic in Jimin's voice that finally brings you to tears.
Rolling your head towards him, his chin is dug into the concrete floor, his skin and clothes red with blood, his face pale and flush, his eyes red and teary with emotion. With him no longer fighting they are able to cuff his hands. They haul him to his feet, carrying his weight. He yells in pain, his cries turning into pleas for you, calling again and again for someone, anyone to help you.
One of the officers comes to your side pressing firmly on your wound making you shriek, spitting out even more blood. They speak into their walkie-talkie describing your state and injuries calling for an ambulance. Explaining that a male will be coming to the hospital by a police cruiser.
In front of you, the others are dragging a limping Jimin away. Being pulled from you he begins his fight again, battling to not leave you. But he's too injured and restricted to combat them much more. Only able to call out to you over and over.
Even as the car doors close on him, you can still hear him shouting your name. Even as you lose consciousness you can still hear the echo of his voice.

Tumblr media
The rifle was heavy, and you had trouble holding it, you have never held a gun before. You stood up and pointed the rifle at Jack, who was now watching you, with his green eyes. He was smiling, and it made you incredibly angry. You stood in front of him, with your barrel trained on Jack, and now you get your revenge. "Why?" you said angrily, not taking your eyes off him. Jack raised his hands to show you, that he was unarmed. "I had nothing to do with this," he said in a deep and calm voice.
Your head was pounding, and your thoughts were swirling around in your head, like a sandstorm, you didn't believe a word of it. "What else do I have to do to make you believe me? I already gave you the Rifle" he said, raising his eyebrows. "Yes, that was stupid of you" you said and took a few more steps towards him, but stopped short in front of him. "I have nothing to do with it. I even called the police, I called an ambulance. We're at the bottom of the world here, it takes a while for them to come" - "Why an ambulance, you're not hurt!" you asked, examining his body from top to bottom, he wasn't hurt.
"I would like to show you something" he said and looked to the left and right again, you followed his gaze, and you were suddenly sure, that he was probably not alone. "Everything lied" you said and got a little louder, you take a few more steps towards him and put the rifle barrel on his chest. "You lie as soon as you open your mouth" you were so angry, that you forget yourself, and automatically you pull the trigger. It clicked loudly, and you saw Jack's body twitch a little. He smiled briefly, then got serious again and snatched the rifle from your hand, you took a few steps backwards, watched him unlock the gun and hold it out to you again "If you want to kill me, then this button has to be up"
You hesitate, but reach for the Rifle. You were sure, he would immediately withdraw the gun, but he didn't. The rifle was back in your hands, safe and ready to fire. "But before you do that, let me show you something," he said calmly and turned around, slowly walking towards the wooden house. You point the Rifle at him again, he must have noticed, because he slowly turned around. "You decide here" he said again and continued on his way to the house. You close your eyes for a moment, what the hell is going on here?
One side of you, just wanted to shoot him, but the other side was way too curious, about what Jack wanted to show you. You choose to follow him, but keep your rifle pointed at him and ready to fire. "Do me one more favor," he said, while you walked slowly toward the house, the sound of the waterfall slowly fading away. "I won't do you any favors, you're a murderer." He stopped and turned back to you, you stopped too, always at a safe distance, so that Jack couldn't reach for the gun anymore. "Is that so? I'm the killer? Because Chris tells you so?"
You narrow your eyes and nod forward, signaling him to move on. He gave a short laugh and shook his head, but continued on his way. "I just didn't want you to put your finger on the trigger, not that you'd accidentally kill me and maybe regret it later." - "It will be my pleasure to kill you. You killed my girlfriend, then Yoh, and then you run after us and shoot my injured friend Jenna, from a cliff" Jack stopped, you could see, from afar, recognize the wooden house. "I'm sorry," he said without looking at you. "What?"
From now on you're clearly confused "I'm sorry, I couldn't protect you all" You shake your head "You sent the dog after us" - "Yes, he wouldn't have attacked you women, as I saw, did he get the right one. Tell me, is my dog dead?" His voice was so deep, that it gave you goosebumps, and as he asked, he kept getting quieter, as if his voice was choked. "Yes," you said, and Jack hung his head before walking on.
Tumblr media
You didn't speak to each other the whole way, and you were deep in your thoughts. If Jack asks about his dog, who shot at you guys? The attacker must have been nearby and would have found the dog. Jack's reaction seemed genuine to you, though, and if you're not mistaken, his full body showed that he was really sad, at the loss. Jack wasn't alone, you thought again, he has friends! You looked around again, before you reached the side of the house.
At the entrance to the house, Jack turned to face you again, slowly so you wouldn't pull the trigger in shock. "I'll get the keys out of my pocket," he said, and his hand slowly wandered to his pocket, you're narrowing your eyes and ready to pull the trigger, if you saw anything suspicious. But it jingled, and in his hands appeared a bunch of keys. "How many friends do you have in the forest?" you ask, and he looked at you confused, "What?" - "You understood me, if you didn't shoot at us, then who would?" - "Chris" - "Bullshit" you said angrily and took the rifle, gripping it tightly again.
"I saw it in the cabin" - "What did you see? How Chris killed my girlfriend?" He shakes his head "The way he ran past me, with all the cell phones, I was surprised, but didn't think anything of it until they were found in the sink" - "Do you do that often? Invite a group, you one make up a nice story and then chase people through the forest?" He looked at you seriously, "No matter what I say, you won't believe me, will you?" you shake your head, you knew Chris from school, he would never chase his friends, why should he do that?
"Then let me show you something," he said, and before walking up the stairs to the front door, he looked around again. You kept your eyes on him, always ready to shoot him. He opened the door and walked in, but you stopped. You saw in a living room, sofas and fireplace on the right side, nicely furnished, in front of you there was a close door and on the left a hallway. But you weren't so sure anymore whether you should go in, it could be a trap. "There's no one here, come on," he said, walking toward the hallway, but he never left your sight, so you could see him. Either he was smart, or genuinely interested in showing you something.
Slowly, you let one foot over the threshold and looked around you in all directions. Jack watched you, with an iron expression, and didn't move. You couldn't spot any other people in the room, so enter the room and close the door immediately, so you don't get surprised from behind. "Go" you spoke briefly and shortly, but immediately stopped him again "Wait, open the door there" you briefly pointed the Rifle at the door, that was next to him, and he opened it, then he slowly walked down the hall, and you followed, but looked into the room, it turned out to be a bath, and it was empty.
In all that moment, your heart was racing, and you had to pull yourself together to really take everything into account, your ears were ringing and your head was pounding so hard, that even your eyes hurt. You hoped for Jack, that he really wanted to show you something important, otherwise this journey would soon end for him. In the hallway, you saw a staircase leading upstairs and three more doors, all of which were closed. Jack turned to you and grinned, "Shall I open one at a time?"
You nod and wonder, at the same time, what he wanted to show you. He opened the first door and waved inside. You narrow your eyes, and he laughed at the sight of you and then walked on. You slowly looked around the room and couldn't help but grin, when you saw the empty bedroom, a moose head hanging on the wall above the bed. When you reached the stairs, you looked up and tried to hear something, but the rushing of your blood in your ears wouldn't let you. You could only hope, no one was there.
Jack meanwhile opened the other door and then went on. Here was the kitchen, but there was nobody here either. He stopped at the other door. "Here's what I wanted to show you" again you narrow your eyes, "You go in first" you said as he opened the door and stopped. He took a deep breath and went inside. "Did you find her?" said a voice, that sounded very familiar to you. Tears welled up in your eyes, and you immediately lowered the Rifle and ran into the room. You saw Yoh lying on the bed, his leg being bandaged and lying on a soft pillow, your gaze slowly shifting from him to Jack. He smiled and tied his hair behind his head. "I hope it changes your mind"
Tumblr media
He took the gun, you were holding, out of your hand. "I... you... I thought..." you said, wanting to apologize, but you were so confused and happy and angry, all in one moment, you didn't know what to choose. "It's okay, I'm glad you're here," he said and secured the rifle, by pushing the button back. Your gaze shifted from Jack back to Yoh, who looked at you. "I thought you were dead," you said thickly. He nodded. "I thought the same thing, about you and Jenna." Jack, who had stood next to you, suddenly stiffened and looked down.
You looked at Jack briefly, before turning back to Yoh. You wanted to say something, but your sadness smothered every word, your tears filled your eyes, until they escape down your cheeks. Jack put an arm around you, he kissed your temple "No..." spoke Yoh, Jack took over for you "I'm sorry Yoh, Jenna is dead" - "No" yelled Yoh and you turn from the embrace of Jack and walked over to Yoh. You sit down on the edge of the bed and put a hand on his shoulders, "I'll leave you guys alone" Jack said softly, putting the rifle behind the door, before leaving the room. Your gaze rested on the rifle for a long time, and suddenly the scales fell from your eyes. The shadow on the cliff and the flash from the object in his hand.
It couldn't have been a rifle, the shadow just raised a hand. Yoh had snuggled up to you and was crying terribly. But then you remembered something, you had seen the flash again today, the same as on the cliff, on Chris' back. You shake your head mentally, that couldn't be.... no, that couldn't be true. You put your arms around Yoh and cried with him. The attacker had been among your friends. "How? How, tell me!" Yoh said softly and in tears, you had to swallow, should you tell him the truth? No, that would be way too hard. "We fell off his cliff" you said and swallowed again, You couldn't tell him that she hurt herself badly and then got shot, nobody would want to know.
Not now, not at this moment "She broke her neck" you said and before your eyes, Jenna appeared with a hole in her forehead. Her facial expression as the blood ran into her open eyes. You closed your eyes and squinted so hard it hurt, you'll never get that image out of your head. "Why did Chris do that?" - "I don't know.... but why did Jack shoot you?" Yoh wiped away the tears, but new ones kept coming. "He didn't want that... he wanted to shoot at Chris, but I was faster and ahead of Chris"
You try to replay the situation in front of your eyes, then realize you didn't run away, you hadn't moved, so Jack could easily have shot you first. And in the other situation, when Chris dragged you and Jenna behind him. You turned and saw, Jack was looking at Yoh, but not aiming his crossbow at him. "Oh no", you said, "Yes.... that's what I thought too, when he explained everything to me... and now.... now Jenna is dead" he said, and he fell on his back and started crying heartbreaking again.
You cried too, you realized that Chris was in a bad mood, you just didn't know why he had spared you, several times. And if it was Chris, then he must be aware, that Yoh was still alive, was that why he attacked Jack? You close your eyes, put a hand on Yoh's chest, before standing up, you had to apologize to someone.
Tumblr media
You close the door behind you, leaving Yoh alone with his grief for now, but you planned to get back to him as soon as possible. You found Jack in the kitchen, the room next to the stairs, he was just about to make tea, he looked at you and smiled as you leaned against the door frame. "I'm sure it won't be long, before the police and the ambulance get here," he said and nodded slightly, you nodded too "I'm so, so sorry" you said softly, and again you got a smile from Jack.
"I probably wouldn't have reacted any differently, family and friends are very important to me, but this incident shows you that you never really know a person." his eyes got a bit sad, and he took the kettle from the station, when the water was ready. "You might be right, do you live here all alone? In the middle of the forest?" you ask and saw him nod. "Thank you... Thank you for wanting to save us" you said, and he looked at you again, "I saved you and your friend, it hurts me, that I couldn't do more" he said and wiped his full beard.
He seemed very depressed, you walked towards him, your eyes met, and you stared into his beautiful eyes, for a long time, then you put your arms around him and pulled him into a hug. You nearly killed that man, it occurred to you, and you hugged him even tighter. "I'm so sorry" you notice how he shakes his head. He pulled away from you and looked at you again, then he approached you and your lips met for a little moment, then he put his forehead on yours and spoke softly "No, you don't have to apologize" That moment warmed yours broken heart, and you were glad Jack was there.
"Nobody has to apologize" - "I suspected you all the time, I wanted to shoot you" he laughed briefly and looked at you again "but you didn't" His smile was contagious, and a slight smile appeared on your face. You let go of him again and looked down, when you remembered something "Do you know the big stream, on a big cliff" He looked at you "Yes, I know, that's all I know... Jenna is lying there" - "There's that there are many here, but I think we will find them" he said and poured the hot water into the already prepared cups. You watched him and nodded, hoping she would be found, you couldn't bear the thought, that she was still lying there.
"The white stag" he looked up and grinned, "Beautiful, isn't it?" You nodded. "We have a name for him," he said, putting the kettle back on its station. "We call him Cernunnos, it is forbidden to hunt him. He stands for purity and unattainable, if someone sees him, then he usually brings luck" he said and then smiled broadly at you "Have you seen him?" You nodded slightly. "He's like a god, seeing him after everything that's happened can only be a good sign," Jack said, his eyes shining slightly. "I've only seen him once, and I've lived here a long time."
He took the two cups, and you were about to reach for the other one, when Jack looked at the door, startled, and the cups slipped from his hands. The cups hit the ground hard and broke. You flinched slightly. "What?" you ask, he looked into your eyes briefly and then back behind you. You follow his gaze. "Surprise" Chris said, pointing a silver pistol at you and Jack. Luck? Luck, where are you? Did you think for a moment... Shit.
Sequel follows….
