the lando fans are now blaming his race engineer. they blamed zak brown (who i dont like for unrelated reason) but HE HAS A TATTOO FOR LANDO'S FIRST WIN. they blamed andrea stella (which okay it seems he likes oscar more but again ZAK BROWN HAS A TATTOO FOR HIS FIRST WIN), they blamed mclaren. they blamed oscar because lando deserves to win cause lando built the car with his very own hands and it wasn't the mechanics, people in the factory (but also the car is favours oscar?) when will they realise maybe it is lando himself?
they (and lando) blames max cause apparently a 4-time world champion defending his title isn’t allowed to race hard? you were apparently a threat to his championship last year and with a 6 months of experience you still cant overtake him without bitching. and you say shit like "its just luck. not talent" as if you didnt get handed your first win due to a safety car.
lando fans are so annoying and hypocritical
Norris' team came crying and begging to Zak back in 2014 who then referenced him to McLaren because apparently Norris was 'the greatest thing since slice bread' Zak then joined McLaren soon after and climbed his way up the ranks and it was very clear Norris had that seat from like 2015, his father quite literally payed for it. At 16 Lando was already guaranteed a seat in F1. His fans like to point out how Chris payed Oscar's way to F1, when that is literally how every F1 driver had made it this far, infact, Chris has put a number on his investments on oscar to be around 6.5 million a few cost being covered by Alpine Academy, while Adam has invested at least 44 million in Lando's career.
'Lando wanted that seat he was in an internship with McLaren where he proved his skills!' Daddy payed for that internship, he payed for Lando to become the simulator and test driver which gave him the incentive to set a time faster than Alonso which 'blew thier minds' and they ran with that story and later the seat itself for a 3 year deal they kept on the down low, McLaren were stuuggling Financially and Adam payed for their expenses, it was another Latifi, but they kept him around because he crashed less, So it's laughable how Ln4s call Oscar a pay driver who bought his way into the team when Lando is the embodiment of Nepotism. Never mind the fact that his company is still in a partnership with Mclaren. No wonder Adam looks depressed and angry all the time, all his investments are going to waste.
Zak has invested in Lando's e-sports company. He glazed him over Daniel consistently, he built a car around him in 2021-22. He conveniently forgot he had another driver when he declared this the 'Norris era' before the season began.
Andrea prefers Oscar, and for good reason, but even then he's much more netural than Zak ever was. He's still working to change a rocketship to help Norris when it's been clear since the ends of time that Norris has never liked any car he's been in. Zak subtly trying to change is vote now that it's clear Lando won't help him win any gambling money.
Oscar was balancing academics and winning junior championships, Lando had already payed his way into a future F1 seat. Mark came into the picture in 2019 when Chris realized they needed more help in order to get Oscar into F1. Mark did the rest. They did not buy an entire F1 team, he helped Oscar climb through the ranks.
I don't give a single flying fuck what Ln4s say about how Oscar's won, I'm going to have the time of my life not remembering who Lando Porris is when he gets casted out of F1 for being the fraud he is

Please share I'd love to hear the lore

TEE HEE if you insist >:) I have a feeling this is gonna be Long so strap in
First things first: this
So in my little narrative, I have it that Maeve and Simon met in college (Fall 2019) (in an econ class but tbh any GED class works) and became friends. She's studying computer science and Simon is like "woah that's crazy--you know my sister is a robotics engineer maybe I can introduce you guys." And Maeve is like "hell yeah of course that sounds awesome." So she visits GYAXA with him and meets Aura, Metis, and another woman I've named Claudette, and they're all on the robotics team (because, realistically, NASA wouldn't have JUST two robotics scientists). They hit it off well enough that Aura offers her a co-op position (RE: Clay Terran also receiving an early internship. For some reason) (oh, also, this means Maeve does school full-time in the fall and part-time in the spring while she interns at GYAXA) and her mentor is Claudette. I should also mention that Simon and Maeve started dating sometime in October 2019.
Sometime around March 2020, Something happens to Claudette where she mysteriously disappears from GYAXA, seemingly kidnapped as there is a sign of struggle in her office, but she is not heard from after that. She was working on some sort of glasses software that Maeve has now inherited (it's kind of like a remote hack--if I ever make AAI: TWotP it would be the mechanic she supplies Blackquill with). Needless to say, Maeve is now intern-mentoring under Aura, likely on the projects with Metis as well, so Maeve would then know Athena at least a little.
Flash forwards: UR-1. Tragedy riiight after their first anniversary (at which time Maeve receives that locket I always draw her with). Remember, though, that this is when Maeve is full-time at school, so this explains why she wasn't there when it happened. I think during this time she would act as an older sister to Athena and help set her up for going to Europe (since uh. No hate at Aura but I don't think she would have helped...), also, since Metis is gone and can't do it, I think she would upkeep maintenance on Widget (this relationship between the two of them is why I gave Maeve gloves similar to Athena's since she also interacts with the glasses technology). Then, of course, Maeve would also visit Simon for a while in prison, since maybe he keeps some of his old self for a while (which I imagine he's grateful for since I think no one else is confirmed to visit him ever...?). Eventually, after a long enough time of being broken down by the system, he would break up with her around December 2022 under the guise of "I get so annoyed every time you visit; leave me to rot alone here in peace" when it's really him pushing everyone he loves away to protect them from his eventual demise. And Maeve accepts this, albeit extremely sadly, and does not return to the prison. Perhaps she writes letters whenever something significant happens, and perhaps Simon silently cherishes them every time he receives them... but we'll never know.
MEANWHILE: Aura and Maeve are the last two on their little team remaining. They have shifted to develop some scanning thing that sends out a wave to analyze everyone's psychological profiles in a certain (likely very small) radius to try and seek the Phantom. It's a hard thing to get working, and it never seems to yield results as LA is a huge place. This frustrates Aura and she eventually abandons the project, and Maeve focuses on finishing school (she has a difficult time with it as she is understandably very upset from everything, especially now that the project is over and she has no way to help Simon out in the background). Eventually, she graduates, and she goes back to work for GYAXA on the robotics team full-time doing whatever it is Aura was doing when we met her in DD.
Flash forward to post-DD, where Maeve is the only (only) person left from that robotics team. I think there would be a lot of pressure on her, carrying on both of her old mentors' and Metis' research, as well as the police coming to her for help on making this thing called the Badger Bot using Ponco and Clonco's facial recognition tech (which has a LOT of ethical nuance behind it that will get addressed in TWotP). Because she's working with the police, she does run into Blackquill once he's out, and there's a very strained relationship between them now since they're both convinced the other hates them when the reality of the fact is that they miss each other deeply. Maeve still wears the locket Blackquill gave her when they were younger, though, which he notices (the locket is used to hold a very important SSD that eventually gets stolen, meaning Simon is lowkey protecting those files). They're investigative partners in TWotP since she's doing research for the Bot, and the events of that help to bring them back around to each other again as they get to know each other, both now extremely jaded individuals, and they learn they still have a lot of things in common despite the years spent apart.
Parallels I am proud of in this: Simon and Maeve losing their mentors, Athena and Maeve doing background work to save Simon, Maeve cutting all of her hair off after her and Aura's project gets scrapped vs. Simon's hair growing out as he experiences the length of his sentence.
ALSO: Maven is a piece of software used to build programming projects, and Kaspersky is an antivirus company. In case you were wondering how I Ace Attorneyed her name :,))))))
#I HOPE YOU ENJOYED I have thought about all of this AT LENGTH for a while now#because like it's hard to build a relationship with Simon bc of the way that he is but I think. I think I got it to work#And I hope I got it to work in a way that makes sense. Bc I have such a huge respect for canon I wanna make their story super believable!!#plaasks#mutual brigade#self-insert shenanigans#aa5 spoilers#iggy don't look

Jay-Z ($2.5 billion) Since becoming hip-hop’s first billionaire in 2019, Jay-Z has more than doubled his fortune thanks to his lucrative liquor businesses. In 2021, giant LVMH purchased a 50% stake in his champagne empire Armand de Brignac, otherwise known as Ace of Spades.
Jay-Z sold a majority of his stake in his cognac brand D’Usse to Bacardi in February 2023. His other assets range from a fine art collection including works by Jean-Michel Basquiat, his music catalog and shares in companies like Block and Uber. In 2021 he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame; He won an Emmy in 2022 for Outstanding Variety Special for his production of the Super Bowl Halftime Show. 7. Oprah Winfrey ($2.5 billion) Oprah Winfrey has transitioned her hit talk show, which ran for 25 years, into a media and business empire. Reinvested, the profits from her show, plus profits from films like The Color Purple, Beloved and Selma (which her Harpo Productions coproduced) add up to an estimated more than $2 billion. In 2011, Winfrey launched cable channel OWN. She sold most of her stake in the network to owner Warner Bros. Discovery in 2020 in exchange for shares in the company. Winfrey bought a 10% stake in Weight Watchers in 2015, though she owns less now. Her sprawling real estate portfolio includes homes in California, Nashville and over a dozen properties in Hawaii. 8. PATRICE MOTSEPE ($2.3 billion) Patrice Motsepe, the founder and chairman of African Rainbow Minerals, became a billionaire in 2008 – the first black African on the Forbes list. In 2016, he launched a private equity firm, African Rainbow Capital, focused on investing in Africa. Motsepe also has a stake in Sanlam, a listed financial services firm, and is the president and owner of the Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club. In March 2021, Motsepe was elected president of the Confederation of African Football, the sport’s governing body on the continent. In 1994, he became the first black partner at law firm Bowman Gilfillan in Johannesburg, and then started a mining services contracting business. In 1997, he bought low-producing gold mine shafts and later turned them profitable. 9. Michael Jordan ($2 billion) Regarded by most as the NBA’s greatest all-time player, Michael Jordan won six titles with the Chicago Bulls. His salary during his career totaled $90 million, but he has earned $1.8 billion (pre-tax) from such corporate partners as Nike, Hanes and Gatorade. MJ joined sports-betting firm DraftKings as a special advisor to the board and an investor in September 2020. He also became a NASCAR team co-owner in late 2020. Jordan, who owns the Charlotte Hornets, agreed to sell a minority stake in a 2019 deal that valued the NBA team at $1.5 billion. 10. STRIVE MASIYIWA, ($1.8 billion) Strive Masiyiwa overcame protracted government opposition to launch mobile phone network Econet Wireless Zimbabwe in his country of birth in 1998. He owns just over 50% of the publicly-traded Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, which is one part of his larger Econet Group. Masiyiwa also owns just over half of private company Liquid Telecom, which provides fiber optic and satellite services to telecom firms across Africa. MOHAMMED IBRAHIM ($1.2 billion) Mohammed “Mo” Ibrahim founded Celtel International in 1998, one of the first mobile phone companies serving Africa and the Middle East. He sold Celtel to Kuwait’s Mobile Telecommunications Company for $3.4 billion in 2005 and pocketed $1.4 billion. Since then, he’s focused on fighting corrupt leadership in Africa through the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, directed by his daughter, Hadeel. Ibrahim also chairs the board of Satya Capital, a private equity fund that invests in African businesses, education and healthcare. 15. Tiger Woods ($1.1 billion) Woods has earned roughly $1.8 billion during his pro golf career, including a PGA Tour-record $121 million in prize money. In 2022, Forbes certified him as a billionaire, making him only the second active athlete ever with that distinction, after LeBron James. Woods reached that rarified air despite reportedly turning down a “mind-blowingly enormous” offer from the upstart LIV Golf tour, a deal that LIV CEO Greg Norman told the Washington Post would have been in the “high nine digits.” Woods has parlayed his golfing paychecks into investments that include two homes on Jupiter Island, a golf-course design business and high-end mini-golf chain Popstroke. Woods and fellow golf star Rory McIlroy announced in 2022 that they had founded TMRW Sports, a tech-focused venture with plans to launch a new golf league called TGL. The superstar is also a partner with Justin Timberlake and British billionaire Joe Lewis in Nexxus, a luxury real-estate venture. 16. LeBron James ($1 billion) James is the first active NBA player to become a billionaire, with Forbes estimating his net worth at $1 billion in June 2022. Born to a 16-year-old single mother, he lived with an assortment of family members, friends and neighbors, plus his youth football coach, before being drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. James has reportedly earned more than $430 million in pretax salary from stints with the Cavaliers, the Miami Heat and his current team, the Los Angeles Lakers. He has raked in upwards of $900 million (pretax) off the court, according to Forbes estimates from business ventures and endorsement deals with the likes of PepsiCo, Walmart and Nike. Key to his billionaire status: James has been more than a pitchman, taking equity in brands he works with, including Beats by Dre and the fast-growing Blaze Pizza chain. His LeBron James Family Foundation opened its first elementary school in 2018 and has pledged to spend more than $40 million to send kids to college. 17. Tyler Perry ($1 billion) A director, actor, producer and writer,
Tyler Perry is best known for his “Madea” franchise, which has grossed more than $660 million. Perry started out in live theater in the 1990s and became extremely popular before transitioning to film and television in the 2000s. Perry’s wealth comes both from his cut as a producer and from a library dating back to the early 1990s: he owns 100% of the content he’s created. In 2019, he opened Tyler Perry Studios, a 330-acre property in Atlanta with 12 sound stages and custom sets that include a to-scale White House. #billionaire #Nigerians #wealth #Worldsrichestblackpeople

The Worst Crossbreed Vehicles
All things nice and everything wonderful, this phrase came to be connected with Crossbreed cars. However, it was lately understood that this statement may actually be not-so-true when information concerning some hybrid versions that verified to be not-so-economical.
Click here to what is a hybrid vehicle
Chevrolet Tahoe 2-Mode Crossbreed - Most consumers would certainly have thought that when hybrid vehicles emerged into the marketplace, it would certainly be the extremely answer to every SUV proprietors' gas usage issue. This idea gave a more powerful result when hybrid SUVs found their method right into the marketplace once again.
Compared to conventional SUV models, Chevrolet Tahoe boasts a 2-mode system allowing the vehicle to operate in 2-wheel and also 4-wheel drive, you could have this 2-Mode Crossbreed child. Nevertheless, no matter just how positive the modification can be with Chevrolet Tahoe, the majority of consumers may not anticipate the exact same gas affordable benefits considering that this car still can not exceed neither also match the financial wise advantage of other crossbreeds can provide.

While various other crossbreeds continuously surprise their proprietors for the gallon/mile intake marvels, i.e., average of 50 miles per gallon, Chevrolet has seemingly failed to pass the 2-Mode Hybrid as a cost-efficient and ecologically-wise crossbreed. With these factors in mind, prospective buyers need to think it over initially before spending for this crossbreed. Would certainly you still desire a Significant Brand of Vehicle, with a major deduction from your pockets?
Honda Accord Crossbreed - How could you purchase a hybrid vehicle when they have not also passed their preliminary exhaust tests? This has been the case of Honda Accord Crossbreed. In an attempt to change the troubles of the discharges unit, the version was briefly pulled back from the marketplace by its makers. However, regardless of Honda's initiative to reclaim the Accord's crossbreed picture, the car according to some reports in the net, was claimed to have fallen short the emission test once more.
For More Information : 2019 mechanical engineering internships
Taking this right into consideration, we need to be aware that an automobile's failure in emission test will cost you more loan. To start with, the repair work price has to be born by the proprietor, aside from this, there is likewise the expense to carry out the emission examination once more.

How I became a UX Designer!
(Yaar! It’s not easy)
Part 1 – First Class to Failure
Once upon a time a boy was born to a certain couple in Andhra Pradesh, India who happen to become a designer 18 years later. Growing up as a kid I was very bright in studies and other extra academic activities. Once, my teacher asked me what I want to become I said “Aeronautical Engineer”(…… big pause, ahem🤫), TBH I don’t actually know what exactly Aeronautics was at that time, all I knew was it has something to do with aeroplanes😂. But you never know, it’s kinda nice to sound posh😎.
Just like that life passed by, I studied my way through to the top. 10th grade school first, +1 and even +2 I topped my intermediate college🤓. Trust me, I even received Chief Minister's medal twice one for 10th and the other for 12th. Aeronautics was still my plan before my university counselling and I discussed with my career counsellor from Intermediate college about my dream about Aeronautics and how I planned to take Mechanical in Bachelors and Aeronautics in Masters. I had it all planned it out🤠, and always used to think about me building aeroplanes(LOL😂) and seeing stars🤩. But obviously it didn’t happen that way.
Somehow I got manipulated into taking computer science that too at National Institute of Technology, Warangal (damn you career counsellor😑, I don’t even remember her name). Apparently my career counsellor’s both children are doing CS in some NIT and it is pretty good. Maybe she just was being considerate🤗, but still, she should partly take blame for what I have become. And I got my seat at NITW and there, me being a bright student streak ended🤧, and my life changed forever. But you know I was like, “be optimistic you can handle CS”. And believe me it got worse😭.
On the second day of college, the first period was 8 in the morning and a class of PSCP(Problem Solving and Computer Programming)😳. PSCP was like a killer shark😱. Believe me It was a like a nightmare😨, I had the feeling of watching Korean Horror movie without subtitles😵 and that day I decided, or I should say my fate decided that I can never be a Software Engineer😶. But I don’t give up that easily, I tried hard, harder and hardest and the result was the same🤕. I don’t know if it was me or if it was C++, our affinity was worst. To my surprise I got a passing grade on that subject which I thought I was gonna to fail ruthlessly. Somehow I got through the first year and came to second year😪.
Then in second year came DSA(data structures and algorithms)😱. If PSCP was a killer shark then DSA was a dementor(it slowly sucked life outta me)😓 and along with that came the psycho professor, life couldn’t get any worse than this and I was still trying to get a hang of it🤧. Then things happened and I stayed home for two months🤒 and I completely lost interest in Computer Science, that was the lowest point in my life and a failure that I have never experienced before😞.
I was in pieces, I lost my identity😣.
Part 2 – And to Kinda Success Again
So things were getting pretty ugly around me and I thought I should get a hold of myself and started searching alternate career options. And while I was at that time, Graphic Design🤔 lit a spark in me🔥. I found it interesting, I took my very first Graphic Design lessons from Gareth David Studio. His youtube channel, the content is like liquid gold for anyone who want to start in Graphic Design🔑. My top picks from his channel are
1. Beginner's guide to Graphic Design, 45 episode series where he explains all the principles of graphic design crystal clearly.
2. Learn Adobe Photoshop, 33 episode series where he explains the fundamentals of how to use Photoshop by doing a project. For something free on youtube, it's so well organised.
3. Learn Adobe Illustrator, 19 episode series where he explains the fundamentals of how to use Illustrator by doing a project. For something free on youtube, it's so well organised.
So, months passed by and I slowly got the hang of these softwares and doing some design work to keep me occupied😇. Slowly 2018's summer vacation came for sophomore year and loads of free time. The first book I read was The Fundamentals of Graphic Design Book by Gavin Ambrose and Paul Harris, the book was one of the best books I have ever read(given that I've only read less than 10 books😉). So, to raise my game further I took up Adobe Photoshop Masterclass and Adobe Illustrator Masterclass from Udemy🔥. It was very much worth it, after the completion of the courses I can play around with those softwares🤗. While all of this is happening I barely remember the time when I was at the lowest point in my life but could never forget it either🤫.
Then I started applying to internships, I had the skillset and attitude to become a Graphic Designer😇 and before I knew I landed with two internships. User Experience and Graphic Design Internship from Appswise Technologies, Bangalore and Graphic Design Internship from Draftss, Mumbai(remote). I felt like a phoenix, I felt like I rose from the ashes🔥.
While I was doing my internships, my mentor from Appswise Technologies pointed out that "User Experience Matter" when you are using a product. That was the foundation of my career😍. I looked up what UX and Product Design is all about and found out that is another field of design and interesting too. I took a membership from The Interaction Design Foundation, Denmark in August 2018, which is like a gold mine🔑 of resources for UX Designers. It's so abundant and well-structured. I looked up courses that I need to learn, picked them up and started doing projects on UX Design🤓.
Things started to add up even more together and as time went I was more and more into UX and that's the only career path that I can think of🤗. The free courses I did were Udacity's Product Design course and The Design of Everyday Things course, Gymnasium's Beginner guide to User Experience Design course and Rapid Prototyping course and Udemy's courses, wherever they existed for free🤩.
One such course and one such books were The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman. Over the course of time I tried Game Design and 3D Design but left them for hobbies and continued to pursue UX full-time😂.
At this time I was like… CS who?! PSCP who?!?! DSA who?!?!?!😎
The UX learning and implementation went on for over an year and I got the hang of it and I thought I was job ready in September of 2019.🤓 Started applying for various jobs, networking thru linkedIn, whatever means I can do to get a job. Interviews went on till November end thru Mid-December, I used to get rejected in the third or fourth rounds. And I slowly started to lose😣, this is where supportive friends come into play and played an important role in shaping my career😍.
My 8th company interview was Nuclei, the first two rounds went on like any other company I got through them😀, I know I'm that much talented. Then comes the dreadful design challenge😱 which will spread over a week. But for Nuclei, the design challenge was just 5 hours for both UX and UI. It was one straight task and one goal and one screen design. So I spent and panned my 5 hours carefully and submitted the task with iterations🤩. The final round was in Bangalore which was Design Critique of Paytm and Book My Show's movie booking experience and design assessment of the design challenge given earlier which went pretty well. I was very positive with the whole process😇.
"I got the job! Hurray!"
Again I was like… CS who?! PSCP who?!?! DSA who?!?!?!😎
And I started my job as UX Designer at Nuclei from Jan 2020😇, an aspiring young man who wanted to become an aeronautical engineer became a designer☺️, quite the turn of events. Things were pretty great since then and I'm waiting for more exciting opportunities in the future.
"More importantly, I found my identity again😍."

Spotlight: Raeann Giannattasio
Each month we spotlight a woman or girl in tech who inspires us. This month we are highlighting Raeann Giannattasio. Raeann is a fourth year at the University of Virginia majoring in Aerospace Engineering. She spent the summer of 2019 combining her passions for STEM and public service through an internship at NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C. via UVA's Policy Internship Program (PIP). As part of the Mars Reconnaissance Team, she worked on projects that leveraged the integration of planetary science, engineering, and policy in order to investigate steps that can be taken to establish human presence on Mars. Raeann is an Elementary & Middle School Outreach Co-Chair for the UVA Society of Women Engineers (SWE). That work was recently highlighted on the Once Upon a Tech podcast and through a STEM session at the first virtual Girls’ Geek Day!

How do you work with technology today? In class, I use many different computer software. I use CAD inventor to build parts that can be 3D printed. I use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to run computer simulations on parts that will be surrounded by fluid. For example, I can simulate a plane moving in air at a certain speed. I can use other technology to verify those results with something such as a wind tunnel. I also use coding languages such as MATLAB to solve math problems in my orbital mechanics class that would take me days to do by hand.
The most interesting piece of technology I work with is the Flight Simulator in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering building. My Flight Vehicle Dynamics class has a lab component where I get to spend time flying a simulated plane. It can mimic the effects of thunderstorms, night sky, and any other situation that a pilot should know how to handle! It's a really great tool for pilots to practice being in the air, and I like being able to work with it firsthand!
What drives your interest in technology? The way technology is able to help others motivates me to use my ability as an engineer to improve lives for the better. On the other hand, the potential for misuse of technology instills a responsibility in me to use my knowledge of the field to make recommendations to try and ensure that technologies are not abused by anyone. This ethical line is one that engineers should always keep in mind when designing the latest technology. All of the good we do for people with tech is very important work that I am proud to have a hand in, no matter how small.
What do you remember about your first coding experience? My first coding experience was during my first year in college. UVA students take an intro programming class that uses python. I was very nervous to start coding because I heard it was very difficult, and I didn't know how I would like it. By the end of the course, I wound up designing a game that could be played for points! The professor was very encouraging, and now I like coding because it is an excellent tool for problem solving.
What was your pathway to working in/studying technology? In early elementary school, I was very fascinated by space. But I was led to believe that due to my compassionate nature I would be better suited for careers that suited these traits, as opposed to the dry lab work of a scientist. I was part of a Law and Public Service program in high school because of my desire to help others and make our world a better place. Throughout high school, I loved my math and science classes, and eventually realized that engineering is a way to use math and science to help others. Because of my childhood passion, I chose to study Aerospace Engineering, and I have not regretted it.
Why is it important to get more girls and women interested in technology? Having diversity in technology is immensely important. The best solutions to any problems will surface more easily when a group made up of unique perspectives is on the case. Having a blend of genders, ages, races, and upbringings will generate more ideas than any one demographic can create alone. Diversity is essential to develop robust solutions, and women can, do, and will contribute meaningfully to the technology problems of the day.
Who inspires you to pursue your passion? Professor Ryals is part of the applied math department here at UVA. I took my first college math class with her while struggling to adjust to college life. I was experiencing issues with college outside of academia, but Calculus II definitely added to the difficulty. Having Professor Ryals push me mathematically from the start of my college career allowed me to grow into this discipline. I went on to take 3 more math courses with her, and still tell people that I want to emulate her intelligence and grace when I "grow up." Once I sorted out the rest of my college experience, math class became far better than it was when I was a first year. I am very thankful to Professor Ryals for helping me realize that I have the ability to learn new material, and that is what makes me a good engineer.
What most excites you about the future of technology? Being in the space industry, I am excited to see what is in store for human exploration. From a technological perspective, we're mostly capable of sending humans into space. What we need is to fix the belief issue, and get everyone excited about deep space exploration. If the general public can see how going into space helps us as a species, then we will be that much closer to seeing it happen.
What advice would you give to your younger self? I would tell my younger self that being an emotional person is not as much of an obstacle as she was made to believe. Having compassion and empathy do not contradict the work of a scientist. Emotions are a real asset to an engineer, not a hindrance. Being emotionally invested in your work and the people you're working with makes you a motivated and caring teammate. STEM work can compliment public service needs well, and you will not have to choose sides.

@dottilyn @thoopsy A little birdie told me that you signed up for the @shera-secretsanta-2019 event. Well guess what, I know who’s supposed to give you your present and it’s....this girl right here! (forgive me for the awkward introduction ). Anyways, happy holidays and may you fight like a princess in the next decade! (i’m...not the best at fandom references).
I’ve prepared a fic set in a Modern AU-Etheria is a small kingdom, where magic doesn’t exist but goodness always prevails.
Characters:Entrapta, Adora, Mermista, Bow, Perfuma, Frosta, Glimmer (basically the main squad)
Word count:2031
Hope you like it!
"Emily, will you hand me the wrench, please?", Entrapta asked the small robot that usually accompanied her. Today would be a bit different, for she was celebrating her high school graduation by going on a camping trip with her friends, so she was planning to leave the robot in charge of the house while she was gone. The thought of being without Emily was quite saddening but the thought of being with the people who've gone on so many adventures with her throughout high school helped. Of course, there was also the thought of what was going to happen now that high school was over-but she brushed it off. For now, she had to leave her messy room, say goodbye to the other robots and try and run to the train station, where they were waiting for her. "I have to leave now, but I'll be back soon. Take care of the others, ok?", she said, planting a kiss on the closest thing that the robot had to a forehead. With that, she picked up the wrench, threw it in her backpack and closed the door behind her. --- "This has to be the longest road I've ever travelled. How much do we have left?", Glimmer sighed looking out the window of the train compartment. "This is the fifth time you've asked", Mermista muttered under her breath. "We've already passed by the lake. Perfuma said she's waiting for us at the next station", Adora interfered. "Is it too late to suggest not going at all?", Mermista asked rhetorically . As the only one in the group who's grown up in Salineas-Etheria's most prosperous harbour city-she found it a lot more enjoyable to spend her summer break at the seaside than among leaves and bugs and...whatever else hid in those woods. Adora gave her a gentle, but disapproving look. "So that's a no?" --- Ten minutes later they were chatting with Perfuma, telling her how Entrapta spent the whole time while they were on the train in the driver's cabin, figuring out how the vehicle worked. She laughed a bit, asking the mechanic about her discoveries. As the purple haired girl answered, she felt hopeful about the celebration ahead of them. But of course, a lot can go wrong in a night. The group found their spot rather quickly, as it had been previously prepared by Perfuma. When they decided to spend a week during their summer break camping, she insisted that it takes place in a natural reservation she'd been to before in Plumeria, Etheria's "greenest" region. Knowing how persistent the environmental activist could become about these things, they let it go. They were in a meadow not far from a river, surrounded by tall, green trees and a big range of flowers, among which they could find bluebells, primroses and starflowers. Perfuma went on a long speech about the forest and the various forms of life they could find there but Bow was the only one still listening after hours spent on a train ride. After taking some rest, they started unpacking the tents and setting them up. The process went easier than expected, especially after Entrapta excitedly began going around, offering everyone her help. She was the best out of all of them when it came to spatial thinking, tools and equations, so they instantly agreed. Bow finished first, being quite good with these types of things himself. He admired Entrapta's skills and looked forward to any opportunity to learn from her. He was followed by Glimmer and Mermista-who let an overly eager Entrapta do the whole thing and then Perfuma and Frosta. Frosta was the youngest one of them and, though she wouldn't admit it, was a bit scared about her first camping trip, so when Perfuma offered to share a tent with her, she gave in. After an hour, Adora was still struggling to set up her tent, despite her friend's help. The reason had 4 legs, 2 puppy eyes that begged one to do its bidding and fluffy ears perfect for scratching. Yes, the girl brought her pet dog, Swift Wind with her. No,she wasn't regretting her decizion but she admitted that there were...unforeseen situations that could be caused by one bringing their golden retriever on a camping trip. Because she was living them right now. "Come here, puppy! "Frosta shouted at the top of her lungs, waving to the fluffy animal. He was chewing on one of the tent poles after grabbing it while Adora was looking somewhere else and running with it to the other end of the meadow. Adora facepalmed. She thought things couldn't get any worse until he broke into one of the tents and started chewing on the pillows, spreading feathers and polyester filling all over in the camp while she watched in horror. While the others were trying to bait the puppy into returning the pole and chewing on something more edible-like one of the dog biscuits that Bow had carefully packed with him-Mermista was sitting in the back, eating a bag of popcorn with Entrapta. The young genius was giggling, oblivious to the fact that she needed the pole to finish. "You'd think he was tired after the road, but his energy level is comparable to that of Sea-Hawk's", the Salinean raised an eyebrow, slightly impressed. "Do you think I could make my robots run as fast?", Entrapta asked, throwing a popcorn in the air and catching it with her mouth. Mermista was about to reply when she saw Frosta run up to them. "Guys, we could use some help", she threw them a glare while trying to get some feathers out of her hair. The girls sighed before getting up. The sooner they do something, the sooner they can go back to snacks and jokes. Twenty minutes later, Adora's managed to get Swift Wind to stop by giving him one of his favorite toys to play with, after finding it at the bottom of her backpack. The cleaning was resolved by Entrapta, who's turned one of her smaller robots into a surprisingly functional attempt at a vacuum cleaner. The others didn't know how she'd managed to make it work but hey, it was Entrapta. They were past questioning it. --- A dimly lit fire and a group of 6 people gathered around, laughing and enjoying each other's company. Is this what friendship feels like?, Entrapta thought, looking around. It was well known that Entrapta had been alone before meeting Adora, Glimmer and Bow, who would later introduce her to Mermista, Perfuma and Frosta. She grew up in an isolated city called Dryl, as an orphan. They met during their freshman year of high school and her life changed almost instantly. She wondered what she would have been doing right now if it wasn't for them. The girl was awaken from her reverie by the sound of Bow opening one of the many bags of marshmallows he'd packed. A campfire wouldn't be a campfire without s'mores and the squad had relied on him, as resident "mom friend", to bring the goodies. Now, it was true that in a very characteristic excess of zeal, he'd packed a lot more than they needed, but Frosta assured them that she'd take care of it. He gave each one a bunch of marshmallows and biscuits and they soon started chatting, sharing their fears, hopes and dreams. "So what are you doing this fall, Entrapta?", Adora asked, not long after they'd replaced the s'mores with hot cocoa and gotten all wrapped up in blankets. Everyone except Frosta, anyway. She was surprisingly resilient to cold weather. "Yeah, good question.", Glimmer said. "I've heard about the others, but you never mentioned anything." Entrapta looked down on her own cup, trying to find answers in her drink. Sadly, it didn't answer. Stupid hot beverage. It was true though. On their way here, everyone's shared their plans for the future except her. Bow was planning to go into psychology and become a counselor, helping people who were doubting themselves or their path in life, like he used to at some point. Mermista would start preparing to take on her parents' business-they owned a few ships and offered tours of Etheria's coastlines. She's always liked the sea, so taking over the business with her boyfriend, Sea-Hawk seemed like the natural option. Adora has been training to become an agent for Etheria's crime fighting agency for a few years now and would take her exam in September. It sounded more like a formality for her though, since she'd aced all the other required tests and practiced every day. Glimmer had decided a long time that she wanted to take a leap year instead and figure out things before making a decizion. She'd already signed up for a bunch of clubs and volunteering associations to test things out in the meantime. She had the freedom that she didn't have before, when she was a kid trying to graduate and to make her strict mother proud. Last but not least, Perfuma recently got offered an internship for an enviroment-focused international NGO that she was excited about, while Frosta was still in high school as the youngest. And Entrapta? She did get an acceptance later for a course she applied out of boredom-Etheria's best engineering course, offered by a prestigious, modern university with a big library and an even bigger research lab. It sounded like a dream come true. But she feared it'd turn into her biggest nightmare-losing her friends and being alone again. She'd be far from everyone else, while her friends would each go away their separate ways. If she turned it down, she could at least stay with Frosta for another. She was afraid of what would happen if she didn't. Before she knew it, she'd started crying in front of her friends. "Hey, are you ok?", Bow asked, taking a seat next to her. The others followed him, forming a circle around her. They were looking at her, eyes filled with concern. She revealed the acceptance letter that had been hidden in her backpack. She'd brought it with her to think about it-having physical things to thinker with always helped her figure out solutions. The only problem was, you couldn't fix fear and insecurity using equations. She heard the others gasp at the sight of the letter as Glimmer snatched it from her hands. She read it out loud before they all congratulated her. "This is amazing, Entrapta!", Adora exclaimed. "Totally. I mean, I didn't expect any less but you know...congrats", Mermista patted her on the back. "So...why are you upset?", Bow was confused. "Is this not what you wanted ?", Perfuma raised an eyebrow. "I...I'm afraid", was all Entrapta could say between the tears. Once Bow handed her a box of tissues, she was able to continue, "Of what will happen...once college begins. Of losing you guys." After a few seconds, Adora broke out the silence, "Not a chance", she said, slinging an arm around her shoulder. The others nodded encouragingly. "Yeah, we can totally still hang out whenever we find the time. Etheria isn't that big.", Glimmer chimed in. "And group chats are still a thing as far as I know", Mermista added. "Knowing you, you'll probably invent holograms or...teleportation and what not. That'll make things a lot easier", Frosta said, inciting a chuckle from Entrapta. "Yeah, you're a genius, Entrapta", Bow said. "And you deserve the chance to reach your full potential", Perfuma smiled at the purple haired girl. Slowly, but surely, Entrapta began feeling relieved. And maybe she wasn't so alone after all. "Thank you, guys", she sniffled."I've decided I'm going to accept the offer...and I'm going to treat it as an other scientific experiment. With courage and curiosity." "GROUP HUG", Bow announced loudly before giving the girl a hug, followed by the others. Entrapta smiled once again, looking up at the stars. This is what friendship feels like.

A recent redesigned approach to Engineering

B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence
What is Artificial Intelligence?
Artificial Intelligence is fundamentally a PC based framework which can perform undertakings which ordinarily need human help. This can incorporate speech recognition, visual perception, language identification , decision making and so on. Every single such framework you see around yourself which work on voice directions are fundamentally artificial reasoning frameworks.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad is presenting another B. Tech. course in Artificial Intelligence that will be accessible to the students starting the coming scholastic year (2019-2020). It is the first such B. Tech. program to be offered by an Indian college. Indeed, even universally, just select foundations like Carnegie Mellon University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) are right now offering comparative courses, asserted IIT Hyderabad in an official statement.
The B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence course will incorporate investigation of calculations, signal handling, mechanical technology and numerical establishments. It will likewise concentrate on application verticals, for example, healthcare, agriculture, smart mobility, and the sky is the limit from there. IIT Hyderabad takes note of that moral effect of AI and related advancements on regions, for example, security, bias, and related issues will likewise instructed to the students.
The establishment trusts that the new program will enable the students to progress toward becoming pioneers in the field and help satisfy the developing need for machine learning and AI specialists in the business.
B. Tech Computer Science and Technology with specialization in Artificial Intelligence (AI) degree program has seen an exponential development over the most recent couple of years. It is fuelled by blast in the utilization of Internet, broad infiltration of advanced mobile phones, expanding utilization of online administrations, web based life, e-banking and expanding episodes on Human remaining task at hand. Machine learning is an entrenched energizing specialization of software engineering worried about strategies to make PCs or machines savvy. With the goal that they can gain for a fact to get understood information from the one offered and to comprehend characteristic dialects to decide the substance of pictures to work cooperatively.Click here to read more VidyarthiMitra

Art Adventure: My Experience Interning at Dogwood Arts
Coming to The University of Tennessee I knew that I would have many great opportunities presented to me. However, I did not realize the abundance of things that are available. As a freshman in mechanical engineering, I’ve enjoyed being a member of the Society of Women Engineers and going to events put on by the International House. I’ve also been active in the Knoxville community through volunteering at places like Ijams Nature Center and the Emporium downtown. However, out of all of the activities I have done in my freshman year, interning at Dogwood Arts has been my favorite.

I have always been interested in making art. In high school, I created a portfolio of 2D art for an AP Art portfolio, and was the vice president of my high school’s art club. I also sold my artwork to my teachers and friends over those four years. Even though I am studying mechanical engineering now at UT, I still want to keep up with my interest in making art. I also wanted to explore downtown Knoxville, so I knew that interning at Dogwood Arts through the 1794 Honors and Scholars Program was a great opportunity.
As an intern, I’ve worked with Dogwood Arts to help organize parts of their many arts and culture events that they put on throughout the year. During the beginning of my internship, I helped organize things for the House & Garden Show, which happened February 1 – 3, 2019 at the Knoxville Convention Center.
Pictured: A photo I took of the Knoxville Convention center, empty, when I helped set up the show a few days before it began.
There were hundreds of companies present at the House & Garden Show, and the displays were impressive. In many of the gardening and lawn care displays, there were live fish.
Pictured: Clownfish in a company’s home display.
Pictured: Live Koi and running water at a garden company’s display.
I also enjoyed looking at the work that the artists displayed by their booth. I recognized a lot of them from photographs I had documented back at Dogwood Art’s office, so it was interesting to see them with my own eyes during the show. My favorite pieces were smooth, marble sculptures made by Bill Cook Jr. pictured below.
By interning at Dogwood Arts, I have had many opportunities to look at art and engage with different artists in Knoxville. This alone has been a beneficial experience. Before interning, I knew that it would help me maintain my interest in art while also engaging me with the Knoxville community. However, my actual experience went above my expectations. The people that I am working with at Dogwood Art’s office have really made the experience worthwhile. Everyone I have met at Dogwood Arts is very interesting and nice, so I am happy to spend my afternoons there. I encourage other students to intern while in college, since it gives many opportunities to learn things and meet people in the fields that you’re interested in.

I don’t remember if I ever mentioned that I went to the SWE national conference this year but I did and it was my first time at the conference and I’d like to talk about how amazing it was.
So first of all, I went by myself and arranged my own travel and lodging and everything. My school’s chapter went, but they only take a limited number of students and I didn’t want to miss out if I didn’t get chosen so I decided to go alone. This meant that I didn’t stay in one of the hotels near the convention center, but rather a smaller, cheaper hotel 20 minutes away. I did get a room to myself though, even if it smelled like ass and cigarettes. I registered early and used a coupon I found online, so my conference registration only ended up being like $70, and then I donated like $10 because why not. I tracked flight prices for a while and got a pretty cheap flight to MN.
My main reason for going to the conference was for the career fair. I’d heard a lot of people saying that getting an interview and an offer from their career fair was pretty easy, and as someone who’s set to graduate in May 2019, I NEED A JOB DAMMIT. Besides the career fair, there were a lot of great workshops and panels scheduled that I was excited about. They had panels about working abroad, communication in the workplace as a woman, working in govt, etc. Like every day every hour there was one of these going on. I was overwhelmed.
The conference was amazing. I didn’t get to go to as many of the panels and workshops as I had planned, mainly because I underestimated how exhausted I would be. There are so many networking opportunities, both with recruiters and just other students. I was using this luggage tag maker and next thing I knew, this lady was taking down my info to connect me with her friend who works for a company I had just interviewed for.
The career fair was packed and was honestly super overwhelming, but I was determined. I had three interviews scheduled for the conference before I even got there because recruiters reached out to me because they saw my resume and profile in the SWE career center online. (OMG PLS USE THE CAREER CENTER IT IS HONESTLY THE EASIEST THING EVER AND RECRUITERS STILL EMAIL ME ABOUT POSITIONS). The funny thing about the career fair is that I talked to so many big (and small) companies that I wouldn’t usually have the confidence to talk to in my own school career fair. I don’t have a great GPA and only had one internship, so I’m not very competitive compared to some other students. But at SWE, I just talked to whoever lol. I figured, I spent so much money to get here, so why the hell not??? And that’s how I ended up in line for over an hour to talk to a major aerospace defense company that I just knew would turn me down. I didn’t get asked to come in for an interview with them, but I did go to their networking event and talked to a bunch of recruiters and higher ups. I ultimately did not get an offer from them from this event, but I did get hired from them like THREE WEEKS LATER ON THE SPOT AT A RECRUITING EVENT ON MY CAMPUS. The other students from my school who went all got interviews too, and many of them walked away with job/internship offers. Someone won a free flight with united.
Anyway so beyond the endless job hunting, I also want to say that literally everyone I met at SWE was so nice. AND OMFG THERE WERE OTHER GIRLS IN MECHANICAL AND AEROSPACE ENGINEERING. I WANTED TO JUST HUG THEM ALL I WAS SO HAPPY. And I met some engineering students from Liberia too, so that was exciting and we connected later on LinkedIn.
My only not-so-great note (and it’s not a criticism of SWE or anything, it’s just what it is I guess) was that there were barely any black people there, which honestly shocked me because I go to an HBCU and my whole chapter is black besides like one person so to go there and not see many other black students was a suprise lol. A “funny” thing that happened was when I went to go meet up with the some of the girls from my school (who I didn’t know very well) at one of the luncheons and I couldn’t find them bc I wasn’t sure what they looked like. I found a table with like two black girls sitting by themselves and assumed they went to my school and that’s how I met the students from Liberia and realized the girls from my school were at a completely different luncheon in a different location 🙃
BUT THE CONFERENCE WAS SO GREAT AND IF YOU ARE A WOMAN IN ENGINEERING I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. GOOGLE HAS TRAVEL GRANTS FOR IT AND IM SURE THERE ARE OTHER SCHOLARSHIPS/GRANTS TOWARDS IT TOO. PLS GO IF YOU ARE ABLE.
feel free to message me if you have any other questions about my experience. i could literally talk about forever.

Even though my semester isn’t over yet, I thought I’d fill y’all in on my summer plans.
I got approved to take classes at a community college near me this summer so I’ll be taking Mythology and Writing for the Workplace. They don’t affect my GPA, only my credits, so I only need to get a C, which will (hopefully) be a nice break.
My Mythology class starts next week (during my final exams :( ), and runs to mid July. My writing class starts in July, and runs up until I move back in, which means I’ll have to take that exam early. Then I have band camp and classes start up again!
Both of these class are writing classes, which will makes things interesting. I’ve tried my best to avoid essays all year, to the point where I’ll procrastinate until the night before they’re due, which is very unhealthy for me cause I can’t church them out very fast. This summer I’ll have to not do that, and hopefully not striving for A’s will help with that.
Last summer was my last relaxing one. After my sophomore year I’ll have enough credits to apply for internships and then I’ll graduate and start working full time. When I put it in this perspective it seems like it’s all happening very fast.
Next week I have:
Three essays due Sunday night
Comp Sci exam Tuesday
Calc 3 exam Thursday
Physics 2 exam Friday
After this semester I’ll be done with my basic CS classes (sad face) and my basic Physics and Physics Labs (relieved face). Then in the fall I’m taking:
Differential Equations
Discrete Math
Linear Algebra
Statics
Development of the American Experience
Mechanical Engineering Graphics
and I might be co-section leader for the marching band. It’ll be fun, right?

Today, I start my last semester of University and in a few days I start my internship in another place...
It's been too long, exactly 4.5 years since I started my journey in university and is about to end!!!!
What I have wished for is just about to happen and I couldn't feel more happy for myself💕
But... The end is just the beginning😍😍
Wish me luck in my graduation semester!!!

Entry 4: Challenges you faced
At the beginning of internship some of the challenges I faced was balancing my full time work with my internship. Looking back I started my internship late compared to my fellow classmates and I felt like because of that I had to do more hours during the week to make sure I completed my 228 hours on time. I found it difficult at the time because I was doing roughly 25 hours a week at Play Like a Girl also working 4-5 days full time. For example, to make sure I completed 228 hours I switched to night shift and I will be working during the night and I will finish work at 6am and start my internship at 9am. So I found myself really sleepy at the beginning of my internship especially during 7.5 hour days and trying to get my body adjusted to my new lifestyle. Overall, having to balance my full time work with my internship I felt like this made sure I used my time effectively and efficiently to make sure I met deadlines.

Also research states a remote internship saves you time and money on commuting while also giving you more freedom and flexibility (Akkannavar, 2018).
A second challenge I faced was communication on a day to day basis. As it was the first time I had to keep in constant communication with a boss as well as communicating through gmail day to day. I found this was challenging because it was a new experience so it took me a couple weeks to get used to. There were three times where I forgot to send an email to Holly about a recap of what I did today via email straight away after I clock off instead I’ll send it a couple hours later. This was one of the lessons I learnt during my time at Play Like a Girl as it's important to check your emails every hour during the day and communication is a vital part of being a successful employee.

A third minor challenge I faced was transportation. Most of my internship was completed working from home however once a week I will meet up with Holly in person and work at the office. I felt like every time I used public transport there was a train delay and because of that I had to use Uber a lot and spend $45 dollars every time I saw her in person. That was just one negative about my whole internship experience.
Gashaw (2019) states “students on internship experience the world of work in all its variety and mundanity; boredom and pressure; injustice and helpfulness; comradeship and ill-articulated demands” (p.15).
