Clicker Heroes

Passed floor 10k! In sort of a full idle groove now with 3 auto-clickers. Curious how long it will take to get the last floor Steam Achievement (30k). Also curious how many of the other achievements I'll have left once I get to floor 30k. Only 18 left atm.

Another A rank week with a lost star from midpoint. I really should keep the alarm on over the weekends but sleeping in is nice.

Final Fantasy V

Have like 1 or 2 side quests left before going into the final area on my 100% Pixel Remaster - Steam run. I noticed too late that I missed a monster on the Big Bridge run but I'll most likely get that if I do fiesta runs on this version so I'm not too worried.

TSFR09 + "Funeral Disaster" Video

There's no NCIS again this week (because next week will feature the 1000th & 1001st episodes), but I got to watch the live solar eclipse news coverage! Once again, I uploaded another depressing chapter of TSFR.

As to why I was so eager to release the funeral scene... It's based on the original funeral scene in "Two Steps From Heaven" (episode 23), but the entire story behind the drama's funeral scene is a lot worse than what I wrote in today's chapter due to blatant infidelity (which I could never include in any of my fanfics @_@). As seen below, only family members may wear white flowers at a [Chinese] funeral, so you can probably deduce who's at fault & not welcome here...

Spoilers for Avatar the Last Airbender (LA)

Avatar the Last Airbender

Episode 5: Spirited Away

Starts with the gaang getting away from Fire Nation soldiers. They end up going to a village that was being hounded by spirits. Aang goes to travel to Spirit World to find missing villagers and accidentally brought Katara and Sokka too. They find Hei Bai and get chased around. Katara and Sokka get trapped by the Fog of Lost Souls and captured by Koh the Face Stealer. Katara gets trapped in the memory of the day her mom was killed and Sokka gets trapped in the memory of his father calling him a failure. Aang manages to escape because he realizes the trap is fake. He then meets Monk Gyatso. After some heartwarming discussion Aang realizes he needs to talk to Avatar Roku to defeat Koh and save the others. He leaves the Spirit World. Somewhere along the episode, Zuko and Iroh hire June and Azula gets Ozai to send Zhao reinforcements.

Hei Bai looked so cool. Wan Shi Tong looked so cool. Koh looked so creepy.

Episode 6: Masks

Starts with a young Zuko going to a war room meeting. He eventually says the plan to sacrifice a troop is stupid and gets caught up in an Agni Kai. This ends up with him getting his face burned by his dad. Cut to present and Aang goes to Crescent Island to talk to Avatar Roku. Most of the Sages betray Aang but one helps him. Aang manages to talk to Roku and finds out he just needs to bring back a statue for Koh to trade for everyone. Once back in the material world he gets caught by June. June delivers him to Zuko and Iroh and they start making their way back to the Fire Nation. On the road they get stopped by Zhao and his archers. Zhao brings Aang to a Stronghold. Zuko dons the Blue Spirit guise and breaks Aang out but gets knocked out in the process. Aang decides to save him and they hide out together for a while. Before sending Zuko off, Aang asks if they could have been friends 100 years ago. Zuko returns to his ship with more respect from his crew because Iroh told them Zuko's story.

Great episode imo. The breakout sequence was great. Aang's last question was great. The crew acknowledging Zuko was great.

Roku was kinda weird though.

The Mulhouse-Thann tram-train

Combining a suburban train service with the ability to navigate city streets sounds amazing. People can live nearer to the countryside, get frequent service into town, and, if everything lines up, commute straight into work without changes and avoiding the main station. The complementarity and opportunity to revitalise a branch line all sounds appealing... but a real challenge to implement. In France, only Mulhouse has truly achieved it.

Tram-trains aren't exactly rare in France: there are several lines around Paris, Nantes and Lyon have them (and many more had tram-train projects at some point). But, while the vehicles are capable of running in both modes, they are mostly used as a cheaper way to operate a line. The Nantes-Clisson and Nantes-Châteaubriant tram-trains, for example, which I have ridden, are just regional trains, running on heavy rail nearly all the way, and only stopping where the trains always used to.

Mulhouse is the only place in France to have true tram-train operations as described in the introduction: the tram-trains add traffic to line 3 between Mulhouse central station and Lutterbach, before switching to train mode and continuing on the branch line to Kruth as far as Thann.

The vehicles themselves are remarkable, as they need to be equipped for both streetcar and heavy rail operations, and each has its own requirements: lighting, horns, power supply, safety features... Mulhouse's vehicles are Siemens Avanto S70s, built in 2009-2010, and operated by SNCF as class U 25500. Similar units were introduced near Paris as early as 2005.

Dungeon Meshi continues its run as the top anime series of the spring. Finally, the action (and jokes) just won't stop in Fantasy High: Junior Year. This is Tumblr's Week in Review.
