In the caption for a video @speakerpelosi posted on @instagram on March 13 in which she stressed the urgent need for aid for Ukraine to be approved by the House of Representatives in the U.S. Congress, this is what she stated:

“The fight in Ukraine is a fight for their democracy – and for democracy in the world.

“There is strong, bipartisan support in the House to pass additional aid for Ukraine.

“@speakermjohnson must give us a vote.”

The report highlights the significant impact of Russia’s war against Ukraine, noting the failure of Putin’s objective to dominate Ukraine and instead, uniting the West against Russian aggression. With military setbacks unprecedented since World War II, including approximately 300,000 casualties and extensive military equipment losses, Russia nonetheless is increasing its military production for potential prolonged conflict.

Despite facing such challenges, Russia has seen battlefield advancements since late 2023, benefitting from uncertainties in Western military support. This makes the continuous support of the West vital to counter Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and prevent its further escalation.
