What is the white material of the fair basilica, and is it the same as the material of Norn’s head piece and the bodies of white aligned Phyrexians?

As far as I know it's also Orthodoxy porcelain, yes! There are also actual people built into the walls in some places.

A fun fact about that is that in addition to developing naturally on core-born Orthodoxy Phyrexians, it grows in a fungus-like manner on dying and dead flesh (from the Planeswalker's Guide to the Machine Orthodoxy).

Therefore, it would follow to me that the Orthodoxy actually doesn't need the Furnace to create and shape its biometal, since they can grow it themselves.

I believe I also heard/read somewhere that as of ONE, the Orthodoxy has also taken to incorporating tooth enamel into their creations, but I can't find a source for that offhand so take it with a grain of salt. It would make a lot of sense, though. It's a very hard organic substance, and a lot of the white Phyrexians in ONE are seen with tooth motifs, as well as the buildings themselves.

in the closet dark world, dust becomes those weird things, but in card kingdom, dust becomes rabbicks. maybe this is because the fountains were made by different people - which would imply kris made castle town...!

Malcator, I was curious of your relationship with Elesh Norn and Vorinclex. You seem very strongly allied with Jin-Gitaxias with your work in his sphere and was also curious if you had any insight to the dynamics between those three praetors, since you are in contact with at least Norn and Gitaxias.

I may be in contact with Norn, but I hardly work under her, as much as she may pretend to hold sway over the march of Progress. I was chosen by Jin-Gitaxias to ensure our faction's adherence to the Gitaxian Standards of Purity, and it is a station I hold with utmost seriousness.

Jin-Gitaxias and Elesh Norn have what may generously be called a "business relationship." Toward that group of fanatics, our Progress Engine has for now adopted a stance of strategic tolerance. Let Norn and her worshippers stumble blindly toward a future that shall never be theirs, and let them believe us their servants for now. Though our current position is less than optimal, the Progress Engine will at least pick up the remnants of their failure and refine them into tools of synthesis.

Now, Vorinclex...

There is no good place to start. Under Norn we are nominally allies, but Jin-Gitaxias and Vorinclex have... history. Centuries of it. Suffice to say the slobberings of Vorinclex's beasts are just as painful to witness as Norn's dogma, though Jin-Gitaxias certainly pursues factional relations with a greater degree of enthusiasm. It is not my place to determine if this bodes well.

it's a mix of blood and non-blood, and in that post's case "family" was shorthand for "the people i live with" lol ^-^ i'm estranged from most of my relatives so family has always been what we make of it, yano?

but yeah my mom, partner, and MIL are all nonhuman (and many other things under the alterhuman umbrella) so my home is pretty species affirming :) and i have family members who don't live with us who are also nonhuman (off the top of my head: my sibling, one uncle, two aunts, and one of my adoptive grandmas)

I saw several people I like post long videos about Animal Well being cool, and then got the game and played through the first 15 minutes of it.

I think I got kinda bored around the bubble section… no spoilers but should I definitely keep going?

up to you! it's a game about exploring, checking literally every wall and object for secrets, and spending a long time staring at puzzles trying to solve them. if you're the kind of person who likes backtracking to the same room over and over to look for something you missed, and spending hours on only a few puzzles out of many, it's the game for you! definitely requires some patience though

Looking at the new Scrawling Crawler:

Is the default art similar to anything else we’ve ever seen? It looks vaguely of the surgical bay but it’s just very different from what I’ve come to expect when I see a Phyrexian if that makes any sense

It's closest to a Zenith Chronicler, but yeah, that bacteriophage shape isn't really common among Phyrexians!

I like it though. More weirdly shaped Phyrexians are a good thing.
