The past few weeks have been a flurry of complete life upheaval and utter chaos, combined with constant 13-14 hour work days. But, I'm hoping that (ironically) things will even out as I start teaching again. I'm striving to prioritize my own relaxation time and health and happiness, even throughout all this chaos, and it's quite the journey. Just trying to live each moment, work on my new novel, and prep for my #transpowerlifting meet; all things I love and enjoy, so #training and #writing for me are acts of self love. Less than 4 weeks to go until the @nationalathleticketoassn_naka show! . Today's workout was the first one after last week's deload and I couldn't be happier. Set new PRs on nearly everything I did today. (I shared them in my story today.) A great way to kick off the home stretch leading up to the show on October 12th. . If you are regularly trying to progress on your lifts, but you aren't utilizing deload weeks, you are shooting yourself in the foot. I can understand why you may not do them, though. I have a love/hate relationship with them myself. I hate dialing the effort back for a week, but I LOVE the progress that follows. Have you plateaued on a lift? When was the last time you deloaded? Do your deload... This is my #4weeksout progress. I been estimating that I'll hit my peak conditioning for a little while and it doesn't seem to come. But I'm not giving up. I don't know when or if ever... I'll be as conditioned as an enhanced competitor. Idk of any true natural professional bodybuilders that have reached that exceptional balance of conditioning and size. At this point in time, all I can do is keep doing what I'm doing. My goal is to not do the disaster that most make to reach a goal and then break down completely resulting in a lifetime of obesity, injuries, hormonal dysfunctions, etc... Just to look lean for one or two trophies. I'm going to keep adding muscle and structure to my body, while staying lean, while running marathons and 12 mile Spartan races, for the rest of my life. Since we are up to a #mondaymotivation type of post, I just thought I would throw this boomerang of me flexing my dam buff biceps 💪🏻🇧🇷I like enforcing that strong women image...can't you see?! Officially #4weeksout 👙👑and feeling dam good, I see all my hard work paying off and that motivates me every single dam day!!! I have problems like everyone, and I like to reinforce that, since no one can tell thru a picture what you are going thru other than what you look like, they see what you look like on the outside but they don't know what's going on the inside, I put all my frustrations on my work out and I go hard. No one like sharing weakness, even less a ugly selfie crying or not feeling yourself, right?! Not cuz your shame but my way of thinking is, just don't like enforcing sadness or any bad vibes. So that means, sometimes you can look real good but don't feel good. But I like to make sure I share how I feel, this way I help anyone that's dealing or going thru same situation and can identify themselves with it. When you face problems, don't give up, work harder and show god how bad you want this, deal with one thing at the time and try dealing with the things you have control of, it's a lil hint when shit gets overwhelming... I questioned God once but I haven't heard back from him, so I took charge and went for my fav option out of the two; are you making all this happen so I prioritize what's important first and give up on what's less at the moment or are you making hard on me to see how bad I want by getting those things out of the way without giving up? Yup you bet I choose the second and kept going, I have been dealing with mines and so far things are brightening it up, soon I will see the light hope the same for everyone that's current facing obstacles, stay positive and never #nevergiveup #staypositive 🙏🏻🙌🏻💯❤xx . My prep so far…
I’m not going to sit here and say I’m not conscious of body image because you kind of have to when you’re going to be on stage in a bikini, which is why I had to be in a really good place mentally and have a good relationship with food and training before I decided to do these shows.
I recognised last year that I wasn’t in the right place mentally.
It’s a rollercoaster of emotions and changes.
You need to be prepared for other people’s opinions, body changes, giving up on some aspects of socials, self doubt…and buying a new wardrobe cuz nothing bloody fits haha
I wanted to do this for me, to push myself to the extreme and see what I can achieve mentally and physically….but you know what, I am enjoying every single part of it the highs and the lows!
Luckily my prep has been fairly straight forward so I’ve definitely had far more highs than lows.
I’ve met such supportive people on my journey so far who message me and come up and speak to me with words of encouragement.
So thank you 🙏🏼
Also a massive thank you to my coach @guycharding 🙌🏼
I’m so bloody proud of myself!
