Wall Frame: A Wall, A Space

Miles and I made a dark enclosed space with one light source overhead. The floor was covered in vapor from the dry ice. It was intended to make anyone who entered the space feel uneasy.

What better way to be anti-architecture than with a wrecking ball, but in this case, it was a wrecking square. Attached are some of the items that a wreck square would acquire during its destructing. This is a protest work which represents all the places in my life that are no longer standing in the name of progress.

This was an almost perfect mold of the Coast Guard seal from the Campus veteran’s memorial. The clay needed to be smooth before it went on, and punching pressure was required in order to get all the details. It would make for a perfect casting.

This one could have benefitted from a releasing agent. The imbedded object became suctioned into the clay. Had to reach in pull it before I poured the cast. The cast captured the finger impressions perfectly. It is too bad that the rays snapped off.

This is a cast of my oil spotted driveway. When the supply chain brings in my new pavers, this and 1MT of oil spotted pavers will be my only reminder. I wanted to capture the frustration of dealing with a HOA while trying to also feel a sense of sovereignty as a homeowner.

When you see a normal barricade, it symbolizes order to many. Order as in there is a master plan for all of this. This barricade demonstrates the fact there is no order when it come to a lot of the city’s projects. It should not take 3 years to build an intersection. Yellow, orange, and black are the colors of labor.

Chicken update!

Somebody laid their first egg today! It's one of the two brown hens in the left picture, I think. A fox got Curry and Tulip last month, and a raccoon got Pepper and Basil around the same time. So we're overhauling our security and also building yet another coop. This time, a permanent one.

The coop itself will be 4x8ft and split in half to house birds separately. We'll be building a giant run for them aswell and will hopefully add a rainwater system along with natural pirches, outdoor enrichment, and built-in feeders. All in all, it may cost anything from $500-$600 minus the supplies we already own.
